Anyone else on the TWW and hoping for a Christmas miracle

Hi everyone,

This is our first cycle TTC, and whilst I promised myself I would stay calm and collected, truthfully I am the total opposite. I can't switch off from thinking about it.

It's taken my OH a while to come to terms with trying to start a family. Whilst we have been together since we were 15 (now 27) he always wanted to earn more, to have a bigger house etc but he's come to finally realise that it's never the right time and we just have to go for it. I was so so pleased he was finally ready but promised we would keep it relaxed and calm. If it happens, it happens,

But working from home and not having anything else to do, I just can't switch off from my mind wondering 🙈 wondered if there was anyone else in the same boat who just wants to chat really?

I'm due AF on Christmas Day so it would be such a Christmas miracle if she doesn't come.

@Foundmyfeet I’m feeling positive for you! No reason you can’t fall into that category of first timers! You’ve more willpower than me waiting until af is late before testing! When is the witch due?
The reveal is on Saturday and unfortunately we all have to wait until the reveal! We’re not finding out at the scan and getting a confetti cannon/balloon or something there and will find out with everyone else. Eek I’m hoping I can actually wait and not cave and ask them to tell me there and then. But ofc I’ll let you 2 know soon as ☺️.
Noted the chocolate!! Any excuse 😉.
The next nhs scan is 1st July. Scary how quick it’s going.

@ELBlack yeah I think you’re right, it will definitely feel more real when we know and kind of overwhelming!

Don’t blame you! I could see if being uncomfortable if you’re about to pop but bet it’s quite nice being able to wear nice floaty, cool dresses with bump ☺️. Have you decided any names yet? Xx

Yes we do have a name. I keep suggesting more just in case, but my husband is absolutely set on it. I absolutely love it though, so we are very excited. We are 99% sure she will be Lyra Elizabeth Black xx

It started off just as a small gathering of close family and just telling them the gender, to now having family/friends over with catered food, balloon arches and big reveals 😂. But I am looking forward to it. Suppose we’ve not had a proper celebration since lockdown so think everyone deserves it :p xx

Also it’s going to be outside so not breaking any rules 😂😅

@Mariex1989 that sounds like so much fun!! And yes, you all deserve to have a massive celebration. God knows everyone deserves it after these bloody lockdowns!!

@Foundmyfeet absolutely! We never got to celebrate our engagement/nieces birth/normal birthdays so think it’s just going to be a big excuse for a bit if a blow out (where I can’t drink 😩😩). Like you say, I think everyone deserves it 🥰.

Hey ladies, how are you both?

I caved in and did a test this afternoon at 11dpo. It was bfn.

I think I'm going to have to accept defeat. It hasn't happened in 3 years already and apparently there is nothing wrong with either myself or DH so I think it's just not meant to be.

I just feel sorry for my DH. The only child I can give him is my stroppy, sullen, miserable pain in the arse DD who's not even biologically his.

I'm going off to lick my wounds. Have a great weekend ladies and @Mariex1989 enjoy the gender reveal! Can't wait to find out!

@Foundmyfeet soo sorry to hear about your bfn ☹️. If it was afternoon and only 11dpo you still never know!!! Which test did you use? There’s still time, don’t give in yet!

If unfortunately it is a bfn this month, do you know what’s next?

@ELBlack it was so nice thank you. Literally everyone was guessing boy so was such a nice surprise to see pink. I didn’t quite believe it but the scan company gave us a link to the photo I attached which confirmed it, I thought they’d filled it with the wrong colour at first 😂 xx

AF arrived today. clinic have asked me how I want to proceed but I'm not sure yet.

Thank you both. I'm doing ok. My results came back from the microbiota testing and all is good. My uterus is healthy :)

From all the results I've had from testing, it appears that there is no reason for my sub-fertility other than the quality of my eggs and that's down to my age unfortunately. Cannot turn the clock back.

Now don't know whether to go for another IUI or IVF or just look at an egg donor but I'm worried about egg donation. Would I feel that bond with the baby as if it were mine biologically?
