TTC no 2.

I decided (with full support from DH) that we should get on with TTC no 2...

I've said to myself that for we'll take a 'relaxed' approach to it for a few months (no temping, no SMEP etc) and see what happens, no great rush - took the best part of a year (incl a MC) to conceive DS so I don't expect it to be quick...

Except obviously it's now all I can think about as I approach what I think is my fertile week!!

Anyone else out there in the same boat and want to try and keep the madness on here and not in their heads?!

@mrssunshinexxx I know it is we have literally been on this journey 3 times this is the 3rd. 1st and 2nd time one of us each changed our minds after a week of trying 🤣🤣 that was 4 years ago now after we got married. But now it really is now or never a 10 year age gap is enough anything over and my DD won't be interested either shell want her friends etc and I always said after 30 I wouldn't want to start again. I think we both just need to adjust after 10 years its a long time. And I never thought I'd only have 1 kid. I just think i don't wanna be 50 and wish I'd have done it. Because there's no big particular reason why not there's no medical reason etc. Xx

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 12/01/2021 22:14

@MMG21 oh bless you, have you sat down and talked about it yet? I think its a cards on the table, pros and cons conversation.

mrssunshinexxx · 13/01/2021 08:35

Anyone else using the clear blue opks ? If so how many days of flashing smiley have you had in on day 5?!

Brightspark12 · 16/01/2021 16:16

@mrssunshinexxx I have been using them but I haven’t managed to get a smiley or even a flashing smiley but reading on here loads of people say they have had it for 6 or 7 days... did you get a static one?

mrssunshinexxx · 16/01/2021 19:48

@Brightspark12 no I gave up this month as they are so expensive and I was sure I felt ovulation on night 3 of flashing smileys so 🤞 I'm taking part in the clear blue new ovulation stick study next month so if I don't get pregnant this month I'll use them properly x

Brightspark12 · 16/01/2021 20:44

@mrssunshinexxx same I’ve spent loads already and it’s only month one😂 x

I know this thread is called trying but not trying but I haven’t been on any contraception for about 9 months and nothing happened yet (usually have sex every weekend and once in the week) I’m not that boring just we don’t live together yet so that’s when I go over. 😂 I saw online that most couples should be pregnant within a year if not using anything and a bit worried! Maybe I’m just missing the window? Anyone else the same x

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 17/01/2021 00:10

Please don't put too much weight in it being a year @Brightspark12, DH and I spent 3 years not actively trying, it then took a further 6 months of trying for me to get pregnant and then 4 mc/cp before ds stuck. It was only because I hadn't had a "scare" in the 3 years that they did blood tests on me, otherwise they would have had me wait until we'd been trying a year.

This time round, although I'm tracking again, we're not making a point of dtd at the "perfect" time, unless the mood strikes haha.

mrssunshinexxx · 17/01/2021 02:34

Honestly, I bet you have been missing it. Have you plans to move in together ? Have you seen him when you've had a positive ovulation test this month? X

Brightspark12 · 17/01/2021 11:26

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese thanks so much, that’s so reassuring... I think you hear about people getting pregnant by accident after one shag and think there’s something wrong with you.
@mrssunshinexxx the plan is to move in soon! didn’t really get on with my ov tests this month.. I’m considering getting an ovusense if I have no luck.
How are you both getting on? Xx

mrssunshinexxx · 17/01/2021 12:35

@Brightspark12 which ones do you use ? Why don't you apply for the clear blue study it's all free x

Brightspark12 · 17/01/2021 15:53

@mrssunshinexxx I’m using clearblue but I have just googled that study I think I’ll apply! Thank you! Are you in your 2ww now? Xx

mrssunshinexxx · 17/01/2021 17:15

Yeah @Brightspark12 I'm not sure what date to expect AF though as this is the first month of TTC so I didn't take any notice of length of period before that but I know I'm fairly regular so I think I'm just going to wait until like 32 days when's yours due x

mrssunshinexxx · 17/01/2021 20:40

What dates are people testing ?

Brightspark12 · 17/01/2021 21:37

@mrssunshinexxx my periods are about 26-29 days and it’s day 25 today 😳sore boobs and cramps tho so I think it’s on it’s way. When do you think you will test? X

mrssunshinexxx · 18/01/2021 00:46

Eek you never know ! @Brightspark12 definitely not before around 27th think that will be 30 days since last period

SendMeHome · 23/01/2021 12:34

How’s everyone doing?

I’m CD8 today. DH is very excited, he’s been doing loads of reading about fertility etc, bless him.

mrssunshinexxx · 24/01/2021 03:42

@SendMeHome what day is af due how are you feeling ? My period is due anytime between tomorrow and Tuesday and im sure it's on its way booooo

SendMeHome · 24/01/2021 19:36

Ahh I’m sorry @mrssunshinexxx. AF will be due Valentines Day Hmm. I’m trying not to think about it too much, and focus on other things, but it’s basically always on my mind 🙈 Especially with the snow day today... I have a friend with a week old baby and a few with one year olds who’ve loved the snow.

Hope everyone is doing alright

Brightspark12 · 24/01/2021 20:06

Hi guys so I am CD33 now- yesterday I thought AF had come as when I wiped had red blood. Put in a tampon and absolutely nothing on it! Today no blood at all, really sore boobs still, I’m so confused 😂

IDontDrinkTea · 24/01/2021 22:39

Hiya, is it alright if I join you? We’re sort of not trying not preventing for a few months with a view to start proper trying after Easter (in theory we’re meant to be going on holiday in autumn and after having so many holidays cancelled with covid I don’t want to cancel another for a pregnancy) but gosh I find it so hard not to be all military about it! With my dd I was so obsessed, so this being chill thing is new to me!

I saw above about a clearblue study... where did you find this? Had a quick google but couldn’t see anything

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 25/01/2021 00:03

Fingers crossed your trying but not trying has worked. I'm on cd8 after af arrived 2 days early this month, looks like my cycles are shortening?

Welcome @IDontDrinkTea I think once you decide to not prevent you start thinking more about it (well in my case I have)

No idea about the clearblue study, hope you get some more info 😊

mrssunshinexxx · 25/01/2021 02:10

@IDontDrinkTea google clear blue ovulation study but I think they have stoPPed doing it as someone asked me yesterday and when I had a look it said access denied on the page they only needed a certain amount of people so I imagine that's what's happened.
Cd 29 here if nothing happens tomorrow I'm going to test Tuesday morn but I'm really trying to not get my hopes up

Kona84 · 25/01/2021 07:07

I am trying. I’m using opks. Tracking my HR and trying to get more exercise and vitamins.
My partner is onboard but has anxiety means I need to keep it lowkey.
For example no ‘I’m ovulating let’s get it on’
So I keep the tests hidden, we talk about having a family but not the how to get there.

IDontDrinkTea · 25/01/2021 07:12

@mrssunshinexxx thank you - I’m guessing it must be closed now. Never mind. Last time I just bought the cheapie ovulation sticks and they worked just fine so I guess I’ll do the same again if required... although will try to hold off a little while

mrssunshinexxx · 25/01/2021 08:06

No AF yet ... feel so nervous I'm sure it's going to come . Cramps for 48 hours and headache for same amount of time
