TTC no 2.

I decided (with full support from DH) that we should get on with TTC no 2...

I've said to myself that for we'll take a 'relaxed' approach to it for a few months (no temping, no SMEP etc) and see what happens, no great rush - took the best part of a year (incl a MC) to conceive DS so I don't expect it to be quick...

Except obviously it's now all I can think about as I approach what I think is my fertile week!!

Anyone else out there in the same boat and want to try and keep the madness on here and not in their heads?!

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese first love the name! I keep forgetting to take my vitamins (part of why I was on depo -terrible at remembering pills) now it’s an actual possibility going to set a timer 😂 very new to trying so looking for all advice available

Thank you, it was inspired by my love of cheese and cheese radio from hey duggee 😂
At the moment I'm on daily iron, vit d, zinc and folic, first 3 for my health, I keep the tablets on a shelf with my makeup, so it's become habit to take them while getting ready in the mornings.
I find the best way to remember is to incorporate them into your routine, it becomes habit after a short while

Porgy657 · 02/01/2021 21:29

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese Good plan! Wfh has completely ruined my routine I had atomic habits on audible, it followed the idea of stacking habits...but I have no habits anymore to stack it with! New year determined to keep some semblance of routine through the madness 😂 next to hairbrush is my plan as that’s about the only thing I do with consistency 😂😂

glow92 · 02/01/2021 21:44

Gonna park myself here if that's ok, after getting lost in some other threads I'm hoping you guys are my people!
I'm 28, only finished my Cerelle pill on Dec 7th after 8 years. Currently no f-ing clue what's going on as after nearly 4 weeks I've had no withdrawal bleed or signs of cycle returning.
I'd definitely like to take a few months of DTD every couple days and see where I'm at while using an app to record and track.
As much as I'd like this to happen ASAP I do have obsessive tendencies and feel like it'll be too much for me to dive straight in on temping, OPKs etc.

Penguinmumma · 02/01/2021 22:34

@larrythelizard where I live is covid free thankfully but a September due date would work nicely with avoiding other busy birthday months and hopefully be far enough away for the boarders to be reopened and us have family visit. Not that I’m over planning anything Hmm

stillfeelingmad · 02/01/2021 22:36

@glow92 same here, trying to be chilled and not order opk or a thermometer Grin

larrythelizard · 03/01/2021 09:19

No prep really @Porgy657 apart from the vitamins I panic bought when my last cycle was really short and I panicked (still am) about the prospect of having a short luteal cycle.

Lucky you @Penguinmumma - it's not really bad here but I suspect it will be soon (I think lots of second homers from the SE...). It'd be an October due date for me now (not that I'm thinking about it 🙄🙄🙄)

@Worriedandabitscared I wish...!!

No idea sorry @Bellesjp - could well be but I don't really know anyone who's had covid, let alone anyone TTC.

Does anyone else have a shorter cycle? I use the clue app and it suggests my cycle is an average of 25.5 days.
Found conflicting ideas online about when ovulation might be, only managed to dtd on day 7/8 this month due to work stuff. Naturally every little symptom or ache is convincing me it's ovulation time Smile

Rightthen24 · 03/01/2021 18:15

I have shorter cycles at 25/26 days and tend to ovulate anywhere between CD10-14 😁

larrythelizard · 03/01/2021 20:31

I googled this @stillfeelingmad and it suggested for my 27 day cycle it would be around day 13 - I thought I 'felt' it and that it was much later though...

Have started on the OPKs today (Day 7) - much earlier than last month to see if I can spot it!!

stillfeelingmad · 03/01/2021 21:26

Thanks ladies! Maybe there's still a chance this month then! We dtd on day 7 and 8 (in the evening if that helps lol)
If not next month will come along, we're being casual after all Grin

larrythelizard · 03/01/2021 21:55

Haha @stillfeelingmad yep same here, cycle 2 and freaking out and googling everything and ordering supplements super cool...!

stillfeelingmad · 06/01/2021 12:29

Managed to find time to dtd last night cd12 but out of habit built over the last 6 months of not trying dh pulled out right at the last second Grin so chances slim this month of bfp!

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 06/01/2021 13:32

Slim chance, but its still a chance @stillfeelingmad. Fingers crossed for you. I'm 2dpo and we dtd last night too (well early hours of this morning after binging supernatural all evening) so I'm hoping we'll get a bfp in a couple of weeks, will carry on when to mood strikes regardless haha.

stillfeelingmad · 06/01/2021 13:51

Thanks @Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese we had done it lots up to day 9 but then work got in the way so who knows. We really only just loosely started trying anyway and there's no rush we're only 30 so plenty of time ish.

Thing is it started casual with us both agreeing to stop trying so actively to prevent pregnancy, but now it's all I can think about Confused

littledinokitty · 06/01/2021 14:35

Hi all, can I join? We're going to start trying for no. 2 this month, taking a relaxed approach of dtd every 2-3 days and no opks or SMEP etc. No. 1 took 6 months to conceive so I'm not expecting miracles this month. Should be fertile next week I think.

larrythelizard · 06/01/2021 16:58

H @stillfeelingmad same here, constant thinking despite being 'relaxed'.

On cycle 2 now and have got a 'plan' in my head about various things I can't actually control but would like some control over which has relaxed me...!

OP posts:
stillfeelingmad · 06/01/2021 17:32

Welcome @littledinokitty! Sounds like the perfect relaxed approach! Fingers crossed for all of us Smile

TerrifiedOfTrying4No2 · 06/01/2021 19:12

We’re sort of trying.

By that I mean I want one, other half doesn’t mind but doesn’t want me all military like I was with no1

Ended up having sex day before ovulation without realising.. said he’s going to wear a condom the majority of times we have sex- so far hasn’t had the will power to put one on 😂 now I’m terrified and kind of hoping AF turns up.

I had a horrendous time being a wuss about my c section recovery, it was really painful although straightforward and no infections so I was just being a pansy. Anyway, I just can’t bear the thought of doing it again and hoping I get a VBAC if I am pregnant.

Porgy657 · 06/01/2021 19:54

We were going to be so chill about it but now I can’t stop thinking about it! 😂 I got the Flo app has anyone used it before?

stillfeelingmad · 06/01/2021 20:58

I'm using the clue app!
Been dtd on the regular but not sure if I ovulated or not yet, not checking or temping, feeling starving today, super nauseous and the salmon I cooked for dinner smelled so strong! So naturally I'm not chill at all and convinced I'm up the duff Grin

TerrifiedOfTrying4No2 · 06/01/2021 21:29

I use the Flo app. Worked well for me when ttc DD1

littledinokitty · 07/01/2021 09:01

I use the Flo app, and did when we conceived DS too, worked well. After a few cycles it learns your patterns and gets pretty good at predicting ovulation etc.

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 07/01/2021 12:12

I'm another that used flo and it resulted in ds, and am using it again.
Looking back like little says it only took a couple of cycles for it to work out my pattern.

DH and I had been not trying to prevent for 3 years and actively trying for 3 months with no scares or anything before I downloaded it and after 3 cycles we conceived the first time, it then took a further 5 cycles before ds "stuck".
So we're back to the not trying to prevent, but I'm making notes of everything in flo again, which makes me think my relaxed approach is all front 🤣

mrssunshinexxx · 07/01/2021 15:26

Hi ladies hoping to join
TTC no2 LO is 6months old I am using Flo and clear blue opks its month 1 of trying hopingnit happens ASAP as the point is a small gap.
@TerrifiedOfTrying4No2 I'm sane as you section first time really want vbac next time. I had 4 infections after my section
