Feeling very fed up with failing every month and wondered if there's anyone in the same boat? It's a lonely boat on a journey to nowhere at the moment, but if anyone else wants to join me, some company would be nice

Well we liked the cameleon best It was simple to handle and easy to detach the seat/carrycot and fold the wheels. The wheels are heavier than I thought they'd be but nowhere near as heavy as some of the systems that fold in one piece. I managed to jam a silver cross 3d - it took 2 sales assistants to get it to open after it jammed when I'd folded it and they had to turn it upside down to get it to do so. My DSis liked the Graco but we persuaded her she'd want one that faced either way! Also looked at the loola (old two handled style) and confirmed that you definitely can fold it when the seat is facing backwards. We also discovered that the silver cross sleepover is hugely bulky and very heavy too (but pretty beautiful too) The bugaboo bee is weird looking too - we didn't get to play with that one as it was on a 'pedestal' display.

ps - I'd folded the 3d the way it was meant to be folded, the basket material had got jammed in the metal when I did so.

Just odd looking - like the stokke is odd looking I can look at the stokke and understand why it looks like that, but the bee seems to look odd just to be different if you see what I mean.

There wasn't a stokke there or I would have test driven it for you! If you go on youtube and search for stokke xplory there's a video demo of it.

Hello everyone, just wondering if I can join the thread? I'm on cycle 11 of TTC number 1 and I've been lurking on these threads for over a year but not joining because I kept thinking it was going to happen for me that month! Anyway I'm just coming around to the idea that it's probably going to take a while, so I thought I'd bite the bullet and come and say hi.

Since we're talking about buggys, the one I want is the Urban Detour Quantum. I want a three-wheeler that is forward and rear facing and suitable from birth, and I saw this one in Mothercare and really liked the look of it too.

nomoremagnolia · 07/04/2008 15:31

Hello EPPP Welcome to the thread, hopefully you won't have to stay here long, but if you do you're in good company
Not too sure about the quantam myself - it doesn't fold very small at all and the seat is difficult to unclip. Mind you I do like how the footrest lifts as you recline the seat (all together in one movement). Have you been and played with any others?

Hi everyone. Ive only read the 1st and last pages of the thread so i dont know everything thats happening but i just wanted to tell you to never give up hope. My story is very long and emotional but i'll give you the short version.
My dh and i tried for a baby for 14 very long years, we had every treatment under the sun. After 12 yrs we gave up, the emotional strain was just too much. We decided to get to know each other again and resigned ourselves to a life without children, we holidayed 3times a yr to far away countries, had great social lifes and pretended to be happy (all a big act) Then all of a sudden i started to feel sick and dizzy and after finally going to the drs i discovered i was 4months pregnant. My ds is now 3 and my life is perfect, no longer an act. I wish you all the best of luck, miracles do happen and i hope they do for you xx

Hello Nomore, thanks for the welcome. To be honest I haven't actually played with any yet - mainly looked on the internet or glanced briefly when I've been in Mothercare for presents. I also haven't asked DH - he would be a little shocked at the amount of baby stuff I look at (and my list), but I'm he'll have an opinion when the time comes. I also like the Quinny Buzz for the same reason but it's quite expensive. Anyway we'll have to have a play with a few when I'm actually pregnant - I'm far too scared to do it now in case I see someone I know. Very impressed with you and Ready brazening it out in John Lewis!

EPPP My DH has given up being embarrassed/shocked at my wish list of baby stuff and he now just laughs at me (as does my DSis and plenty of others) I think he's even got as far as "if you can't beat them join them" and he looks too!
LL What does your friend dislike about the cameleon?
kys stories like yours keep me hoping, thank you

Hello londonlottie. I slightly worry that the stokke looks like it's going to fall over because it's so tall. It does look really light though. Have you seen one in the flesh? (or plastic...)

I like the stokke too, but the thing I like about the bug is that you don't have to find space to store the carrycot when you're using the seat or the seat when you're using the carrycot. I think you could probably spend close to £1k on either system to be honest, though the bug does at least come with the carrycot included in the price, but the cosytoes/sunshade etc are all £££. I expect the stokke isn't that small when folded and I don't like how the child has to sit with their legs either side of the main post. Having tried to get DGodS into a normal cosytoes when he didn't want to play I would not like to have to use the 2 legged cosytoes on a regular basis either.

and re DP and the money - well we're saving now for our next lot of ivf in case this round doesn't work, so when we get lucky we'll have money aside to spend on getting things for the baby rather than on getting the baby itself.

Hello guys - just lurking and needed some advice. Have any of you used pre-seed? Where is the best place to buy it from?? Thought it might be worth a try? Anyone know any friends who have used it?

herbaceous · 07/04/2008 17:54

I've never used it, but I believe you can get it from a website called preconception.com, or some such. I've got a mysterious second round of EWCM going on at the mo - I could send you some of that if you like. Never seems to do me much good...

nomoremagnolia · 07/04/2008 17:54

Hi poppy I have heard of people on here using it but never tried it myself - don't know how good it is but anything's worth a shot I believe access diagnostics is the place to get it online.

Lovely story kys hope none of us have to wait that long for our miracles, but appreciate the sentiment

EachPeach, welcome to the thread

Lottie, you should have seen Nomore, brazen and brilliant! I stood in awe - but I am so glad that Nomore has the confidence I lack, because it meant I got to play with the bug, rather than stare weakly at it with dh - the base is fairly heavy, but less so than some of the foldable ones. And as for being user friendly, it certainly wins hands down!

Nomore You are my hero

I've seen a Stokke in a cafe, didn't get to touch it... but stared at it. Like the look of it, looks sturdy actually. But the Bug has my heart

nomoremagnolia · 07/04/2008 17:55
