Oh god, sorry ladies! I had a complete panic (if you didn't notice) and I suddenly had infertility staring me in the face. I've since calmed down and thankfully a short luteal phase is very treatable and I've ordered all the vitamins I can find so hopefully they'll help. Not sure if I'm right or wrong about my RHR but crazy is as crazy does.

Hehe, already planned to bake a cake and sit down with a nice bottle glass of something strongly alcoholic @AKC88. I'm thinking whisky? I'm from London but live in Reading. Moved here for my first graduate job in 2015. I also love how busy your day was! I haven't baked pizza in a very long time - how have they turned out?

@GreenApplesYo you've moved around quite a bit. Reading is the furthest away I'd live from London (although I did study in Sheffield for 4 years). How are you finding the differences in each location? And which have you preferred the most?
I'm not looking forward to bigger boobs if I'm honest. I'm currently a size 8 and a G cup and that's after my weight loss!

HerringGull · 30/10/2020 20:01

@unCliche mmm alcohol... the best consolation prize. What's your 'something stronger'? Don't think you're overreacting to freak out about fertility, reckon most people do that sometimes, especially on CD1!
I'm Scottish and live in Scotland. Have not moved around as much as you lot!

HerringGull · 30/10/2020 20:03

Reckon you've got two possible outcomes with post-preg books... back to small and perky, or stay big but saggy! Argh!

HerringGull · 30/10/2020 20:04

Argh misbehaving app!

unCliche · 30/10/2020 20:38

@HerringGull just about to pour myself a glass of honey rum. DH and I bought it while in Gibraltar after being served it as dessert in a restaurant over there.
Oh I'd love to go to Scotland. I keep saying I need to go for a road trip, do a few days drive and stop off at different towns, villages and cities. It would be amazing. Maybe when DH actually starts driving we can both take turns in the car 🚗 please suggest some interesting places to visit!
How about a third outcome; absolutely nothing happens to them and they stay exactly as they are! 😂
Think I'm feeling strangely optimistic with CD1 now. Can't wait to start trying again! Fertile window starts at CD3 apparently! But I think I'm happy to wait until AF is over.

Any plans for the weekend ladies?

lilacflower12 · 31/10/2020 08:03

I think I'm out, the spotting bleeding has got heavier.. not bright red fresh blood yet but I was woken up in the night with really painful cramps so I think it's AF 😔

HerringGull · 31/10/2020 08:27

Oh no @lilacflower12 - so sorry AF looks like it's coming Sad That really sucks. Hope you're not working today and you can treat yourself xx

@unCliche have never heard of honey rum but it sounds amazing! Definitely of a high enough calibre to fend off AF blues! Which part of Scotland do you want? Deserted beaches/hillwalking/cities/culture? It's quite big Grin

Plans for the weekend, not so much. There's a gentle hurricane coming (not a really fierce one but a hurricane nonetheless) so think maybe light the fire and lots of tea!

@EllyNC291 how are you? Still holding out?

EllyNC · 31/10/2020 09:52

Sorry girls just had a mega catch up!
Congrats @GreenApplesYo!!!! Bloomin’ lovely news!! Defo enjoy feeling ok before it all hits- with my son I started feeling crap about a week after my First positive!! So worth it though!!
@unCliche don’t worry we’ve all been there!! it’s a very easy thing to worry about because it’s such a big unknown! It doesn’t get easier either- even after having my son I still worry about secondary infertility!! Thought I’d be more chilled this time but I’m not haha!

@HerringGull yup still holding out! Almost tested this morning but had about 15 mins of really horrible low down cramping yesterday morning- was probably just wind haha but I figure if it was implantation cramps I’m more likely to know tomorrow than today so I resisted!! My husband thinks I’m bonkers haha I’m not sure how he’s so chill 😂
Who else is planning to test tomorrow again?? I’ve lost track haha sorry

AKC88 · 31/10/2020 09:57

@unCliche pizza was spot on! Whiskey, you're a braver woman than me 😂. I like a whiskey nightcap but couldn't handle any more than that!

Weekend plans...pretty limited the weather is horrendous!

Sorry @lilacflower12 ☹️

@HerringGull I have the itch to test but at only 8DPO I'm going to control myself!!

GreenApplesYo · 31/10/2020 10:02

@lilacflower12 aw I'm really sorry, what a shame. Has it come quite early then? Were you going away this weekend btw?

Ooft has everyone seen the lockdown news? Wonder what that will entail. I'm going back to work on Monday... Wonder if I'll be back for a week and then furloughed again haha. Weird weird year

Pretty wild and windy here this morning too! @HerringGull are you in the west or east?

@unCliche hmm good question. I did really like living in Scotland. I lived in the North West Highlands. So right at the top of the country. It was kinda magical - I could see seals and sometimes dolphins from my house. It was a real culture shock moving there from London though for various reasons @HerringGull sorry not to stereotype here 🙂 but do I think the Scottish sense of humour is different to the English - very quick witted. It also seemed like everyone had loads of mad stories to tell! If you're English and live in the Highlands you have to be a good sport about getting teased, you can't take yourself too seriously haha. This was just my experience though, other places in Scotland will of course be completely different.

Where I live now is nice in some ways, but I'm not sure I would want to stay forever. Would quite like to move to the Yorkshire coast maybe. DP is from the Channel Isles but lived in London for years. He likes the idea of being by the sea again too.

Do you guys all like where you're living?

Haha OK I am hoping for small and perky after pregnancy and not for golf balls in socks haha.

@unCliche glad you're feeling good about CD1 🙂 and having another attempt.

Aw thank you @EllyNC. I'm planning on doing another FRER later to see how things are developing. Think I will get to 14dpo (I am 11dpo now) and then stop testing. Can't quite believe it! Really hope it sticks

EllyNC · 31/10/2020 10:19

@GreenApplesYo I tested every day for two weeks my first pregnancy haha my husband had to tell me to stop as I was spending a fortune. What are we like.
@lilacflower12 sorry to hear about AF ☹️ Hope the cramps stop for you soon
@AKC88 when are you trying to hold out until? You can do it! Haha!

AKC88 · 31/10/2020 10:55

@EllyNC I'm not due AF until the 5th, weirdly earlier I had a really sharp pain this morning when I stood up, had to sit back down again and now I've just been for a wee and wiped some brown spotting ☹️😭

@unCliche I wonder if it's normal to worry about fertility when you start out? I was freaked out because I had two LH peaks and a slow temp rise. It's too easy to look for signs and interpret what your body is doing as drastically wrong. When it might all be OK.

Your garden looks lovely! I like the brick wall. So nice to be near the river as well. Do ducks come and hang out in your garden? Not as exotic as dolphins... But still pretty cute! Haha I lived near Ullapool but I've also seen dolphins at Aberdeen.

Lack of diversity is one of the things that's a bit rubbish about where I live now...

Umm without being too specific 🙂I work for a conservation charity in a role which includes interacting with the public and volunteers. There's a massive restructure and 'change of focus' going on, projects I might have been able to work on at home have had their funding pulled. Will be interesting to see what Boris has to say...

HerringGull · 31/10/2020 17:08

@EllyNC291 I think it's just you and me tomorrow now. Lots and lots of luck to you!
@AKC88 you should def do that if you think that's best for you. I understand people who test early, but for me I want to be reasonably sure I'm past the chemical pregnancy stage. Everyone's different though eh Smile Do you think your pain and spotting could be implantation? I had a teeeeny bit of blood at about that stage past O this cycle too.

@GreenApplesYo you're not stereotyping I don't think. I don't know enough English folk to judge their sense of humour, but there is definitely a difference between NW humour and some of the Lowlands. Sure there's differences all over the country! And yeah, English folk get a hard time sometimes where I'm from, but generally people accept anyone from outwith the area if they try to fit in with local customs etc. Think it's the ones who try to import 'little britain' or similar who maybe don't fit in so well haha! I am totally generalising though.
Yorkshire coast sounds lovely :) It's nice to be by the sea but you have to like rain!

@unCliche you will have to find somewhere with multiculturalness AND dolphins! Are there any places like that?

GreenApplesYo · 31/10/2020 17:51

Ohhh good luck for testing tomorrow 🤞🤞

@HerringGull 🙂never had a hard time myself, although there was an awkward divide between some of the locals and many of the incomers. I think the fact I was young and worked in the pub probably helped haha. Some of the older English people were a bit pretentious and cliquey. It was indy ref time too so lots of clashing opinions. I loved it though, working in the pub/hotel meant I got to hear all the crazy stories!

HerringGull · 31/10/2020 18:12

Haha @GreenApplesYo I didn't want to say pretentious and cliquey but that sums it up perfectly! People who move to a new place and think their ways of doing things are better than the local ways! Happens everywhere of course. I think young people do fit in better, maybe they sometimes have more flexible attitudes? I think also because of the huge gap here between local incomes (average very low) and house prices (very high because of tourism and second homes) there may also be some resentment towards those who work all their lives in cities with higher wages, accumulate lots of money, then retire to the Highlands and massively outbid the locals, who are then forced to live with their parents cos they can't even afford the tiniest house! It sucks. Reckon it's the same anywhere rural and 'pretty' though.
Rant over! Hehehe

HerringGull · 31/10/2020 18:17

What made you leave Ullapool? Was it always just a short term thing? x

EllyNC · 31/10/2020 19:18

@HerringGull good luck to you too!! Keep us posted!!

GreenApplesYo · 31/10/2020 19:18

@HerringGull ha I was going to mention the housing issue but didn't want to overstep the mark - it's a real problem here in the Lake District as well. Every other house is a holiday home or a second home. Wages are rubbish as it's all tourism jobs, and there are very few housing schemes for local people. Makes it difficult for young people to stay in the area. I'd say it was even more extreme in NW Scotland though as you're so remote - at least the Lake D is surrounded by the rest of Cumbria which is much cheaper (if poor and run down in places).

I didn't live in Ullapool for the whole time, I was simplifying quite a bit 🙂 I also worked near Lochinver. Then further south for a couple of years. My ex bf and I ran a business together for a while, we ended up breaking up eventually, which is why I moved. My 20s were a bit messy really! Quite glad to be all grown up and in my 30s haha (no offence to any 20-somethings of course!)

HerringGull · 31/10/2020 21:27

@EllyNC definitely will! Bit scary now it's tomorrow... eek

@GreenApplesYo yeah I think it's a problem anywhere rural and pretty. I've heard about the issues in the Lake District, and Cornwall and more. Such a shame that the folk who grow up are forced to leave, cos young folk and young families are so important to places. It'll not change though unless there are laws made, and it's a tricky thing to legislate on I think. Shame you had to leave the Highlands but sounds like it's worked out anyway 😊 Totally agree about being young and free not being all it's cracked up to be. Give me marriage and nights in any day 😂

AlisonWhite · 31/10/2020 22:59

Hi everyone, I am so new to this. Have just finished pill and have a LH strip kit but I can’t follow this forum convo as I have no idea what most of the acronyms stand for lol! Does anyone have the patience to list the lingo for me? Xxxxxx

AKC88 · 01/11/2020 09:49

Morning girls!

Happy testing day @HerringGull, I have everything crossed for you! How are you feeling?

I'm quietly hoping it's implantation, the timing would be right- had a temp dip yesterday too that's back up again today. No more spotting either just that one wipe Confused

2DPO - Anyone with me....!
GreenApplesYo · 01/11/2020 10:18

Oooh @AKC88 that's looking good! Together with the spotting I'd say it's definitely a good sign? Hope those temps stay up 🙂

Good luck @HerringGull x

GreenApplesYo · 01/11/2020 10:22

Hi again @AlisonWhite. So we have:

DTD = have sex (do the deed)
OPK = ovulation predictor kit. The sticks you wee on
BBT = basal body temperature
DP = darling partner (or DC for child etc)
FRER = first response early result pregnancy test
AF = "auntie flo" = period

That's all I can think of for now 🙂
