@Twinkle1989 that sounds promising, fingers crossed that means good news for you next time you test.

@xem87 think I’m the same as you - I’m not using opks or anything so based on apps I ovulated at some point between sat & mon. When are you planning to test? No symptoms here either although I’m overthinking every little twinge / stomach rumble!

Izzie94 · 22/10/2020 09:19

@xem87 hi lovely!

I got my clear blue peak last Thursday, so assuming I O’d Friday! So I’m around 6dpo ☺️

It’s SO long isn’t it. The TWW is the worst. Actually, I don’t mind the first week of it. But the second I always say I won’t symptom spot and I always do 😂 I don’t have my usual pms sore boobs yet, usually get them straight after O. Although, I think I’ve had a few cycles where it’s been later... I swear TTC plays tricks on our bodies haha xx

GreenApplesYo · 22/10/2020 09:43

Hey everyone! I'm 2dpo too, 1st cycle TTC1. Fresh off the pill so not getting too hopeful this month, but you never know!

@lilacflower12 saw your OPK post and just wanted to say I had the exact same thing. Apparently getting 2 peaks is a normal variation of the LH surge premom.com/blogs/how-to-use-ovulation-tests/surges-and-peaks-gradual-onset If you scroll down there is a graph with 2 peaks.

It totally took me by surprise! I read on another page it can be associated with coming off the pill and hormonal change, but it looks like it's nothing to worry about if you do have it as it's a normal type of LH surge.

unCliche · 22/10/2020 09:46

Same here! No symptoms but no temp rise so still doubting I've ovulated. But if I go by my OPKs I'm around 3 DPO.

I wish you girls well and may this TWW not drive us crazy Grin

lilacflower12 · 22/10/2020 10:00

@GreenApplesYo it's definitely not straight forward! Although the high in the middle of mine was taken at 7.30am so I was tempted to disregard that one as it was the morning, I'll would attach my chart now but it won't let me for some reason but I'm 99% sure I ovulated yesterday as my OPK's are dropping back down ( got a low reading this morning) so I am now on 1dpo for the first time ☺️☺️

GreenApplesYo · 22/10/2020 10:28

@lilacflower12 my LH went right down again after the 2nd peak too. I was worried I didn't ovulate because I didn't get a temp rise on 1dpo, but I did get a temp rise this morning and my nipples are slightly sore. Hoping my temps stay up now. Have your temps gone up today? 🙂 it's exciting and I'm really pleased as I was worried it might take ages to ovulate after finishing the pill. When do you think you will be testing? (sorry if you mentioned this at some point already, I'm useless at remembering what everyone has said lol)

lilacflower12 · 22/10/2020 11:18

I don't do temps but I had really bad cramps for a few days which have now gone so I'm sure I've ovulated! I want to hold out as long as possible , AF is due on the 5th so ideally some time that week but it's my partners birthday on the 30th and I'd love to be able to tell him we are pregnant but I'd only be 9DPO so the likelihood of that happening is super low 😔 I might test on the 30th anyway just incase I do get a line and then we are going away camping for the weekend so won't be home until the Sunday evening so will probably test properly on the Monday 2nd at 12dpo, and then if nothing then I'll wait until missed period.. I'm just scared as I've had a chemical pregnancy before when we weren't trying and watching the line faint was so hard, I'd rather know closer to when my period is due! What about you?

GreenApplesYo · 22/10/2020 11:53

@lilacflower12 really sorry to hear about the CP, that's hard. Must be awful watching the line fade away.

Aw shame it might be too early for his birthday...might just have to be a belated birthday present! Would be a super sweet present though if it did work out you get a line at 9dpo. Camping sounds fun, where are you going? It might make the wait go faster too.

The sensible part of me knows I should wait until period is due to test... But I know I am going to get a strong strong poas urge from 10dpo for sure so let's see how that goes...! 🙂not even expecting a BFP atm, it's only cycle 1, but I'll probably still go barmy anyway!

lilacflower12 · 22/10/2020 15:16

We're going to a car show, I'm not too keen on camping for 2 days but at least I won't test if I don't take tests with me!

If you are 2dpo today that means you'll be 10dpo on the 30th too, we could be test buddies! 😂 I know I won't see anything but at least it will give me a bit of peace for the weekend and then I'll probably test the Sunday evening or Monday morning ☺️

Sah15 · 22/10/2020 15:29

Is anyone else 8 DPO in their two week wait? Hoping to find some buddies to help me hold out taking an early test!

Twinkle1989 · 22/10/2020 16:29

@Sah15

7 days DPO today 😭
GreenApplesYo · 22/10/2020 18:29

@lilacflower12 I was thinking you're hardy camping in October 🙂 hehe yeh if my resolve breaks down (likely) and I decide to test at 10dpo we can definitely be testing buddies. Would be good to hear how you get on anyway.

@sah15 how long are you planning on holding out for?

Sah15 · 22/10/2020 19:32

@GreenApplesYo I want to say 12 DPO but I feel like I could give in at 10 haha 🤦‍♀️ I should just not keep tests in the house and then I wouldn't be tempted.
@Twinkle1989 when are you testing? X

Twinkle1989 · 22/10/2020 19:39

@Sah15 I tested yesterday and felt really sad even though I knew it would be negative due to being so early!
I'm due on next Friday / Saturday so going to try and wait until Sunday at least 😭
I'm scared too :-( xx

Izzie94 · 23/10/2020 08:08

@Twinkle1989 @Sah15 7dpo here too! 😅 definitely try and wait girls, some people implant later than others and I don’t know about you but sometimes I like to live in my own little bubble and get kind of excited that I am. Then when AF shows I’m moody af. No wonder 🤣

Sah15 · 23/10/2020 08:24

@Izzie94 I like that bubble mindset, I keep thinking I just won't think about it until next week but it's hard to get off your mind x

KJS20 · 23/10/2020 08:30

5dpo and finding the waiting game tough! How is everyone trying to stay positive / keep hopes up whilst not setting themselves up for a massive disappointment? Any tips welcome! Also what’s everyone else’s approach with not drinking alcohol / caffeine etc? I’ve stopped completely in the last week or so but thinking as long as it’s outside of the actual 2ww it’s probably okay in moderation? Have also quit smoking a couple weeks ago so this is all quite the shock to the system, no wonder I’m a little frazzled 😂

GreenApplesYo · 23/10/2020 08:46

Oh wow @KJS20 big well done on quitting smoking. Have you gone cold turkey? I know how hard that is! Used to be a smoker, have quit vaping now but it's not nearly as hard as having to quit cigarettes.

I was drinking (wine at weekends) before ovulation, but I'm not going to drink now until AF. It probably is OK to have a few drinks really at this stage, it's just personal choice? Tbh I am not that bothered about the alcohol and am quite enjoying feeling healthier anyway as I've changed my diet and have cut down on caffeine to 1 coffee a day.

KJS20 · 23/10/2020 08:58

@GreenApplesYo I’ve got a vape with the lowest nicotine in it and trying to use it very sparingly so almost cold turkey but not quite! How long have you been quit for? I’ve stopped loads of times but always end up starting again :/

Hoping to feel healthier soon, was saying to OH that with no cigs, no drink and no caffeine plus trying to stay super active I’ll probably be the healthiest I’ve ever been! Hopefully that helps!

GreenApplesYo · 23/10/2020 09:40

@KJS20 I smoked on and off since I was 17 (more on than off tbh), switched over to vaping 2 years ago when my DP quit smoking. Finally gave up earlier this year, weirdly being on furlough helped because it was a change of routine. Didn't find it too hard, like I'd get waves of longing (haha!) for the first week, but I think it was more missing the physical habit than the nicotine if that makes sense? I'd also gone down to the lowest strength, hopefully when you stop the cravings will die back quickly too 🙂

What kinds of things do you do to stay active? 🙂DP and I have a challenge on. We go jogging every other day - e.g me on Mon, him Tues etc. First one to quit has to get the other a prize. It's really working! We're both pretty stubborn haha. I'm just sticking to 5ks atm. I'm still on furlough (yeh I know... what a weird year) so it's easy to exercise, make healthy food etc. It might be harder when I go back to work next month.

KJS20 · 23/10/2020 10:03

@GreenApplesYo that’s amazing that you’ve managed to quit completely. I totally agree that it’s mainly the habit, have been wfh since March and it was a good excuse to step away from the desk and get fresh air if I could go for a cig!

Most people I know seem to have made positive changes on furlough - more exercise, new hobbies etc, it’s great really that at least some good has come from it all. How are you feeling about going back to work? Are you going back full time? Love your running competition! We’re pretty active - Walk the dog for an hour or so a day, more at weekends, I do yoga and run occasionally, sounds daft but I feel nervous about running if I might be pregnant!

unCliche · 23/10/2020 10:05

@KJS20 I've been really naughty and had a little bit of alcohol in the past few days. Not enough that I've felt woozy but I'm only 3 DPO so hopefully there won't be a huge impact.

@GreenApplesYo Sorry to hear about furlough, it must have been difficult but at least you've used your time to work on your health and being fit will always be a good thing! I hope you win the prize. I wish that jogging was an exercise I could get behind but my chosen form of cardio is HIIT with a skipping rope. I went from 67kg to 55.5kg this year during lockdown, doing loads of weight training. Built muscle and really felt healthy. But then I stopped! Now I'm putting on weight! Grin

Izzie94 · 23/10/2020 10:28

@Sah15 after 10 months ttc, it’s quite nice really and saves me a lot of money! 😅 I’ve had months of no symptoms, loads of “symptoms” and still nothing so I definitely think it’s made me more chill! But I must admit, the TWW is hard, it’s all I think about. I even distract myself then seee something baby related and I’m like ahhhh if only! X

@KJS20 ah amazing! Well done on quitting smoking ✨ and giving up caffeine at the same time? Jesus, you’re brave 😂 I’ve never been a smoker which I’m grateful for now as DH was and watching him give up seemed hard haha!! I still have my morning coffee, every morning. And even sometimes mid-morning. I’m working at home thanks to coronavirus, which was fun at first, but sometimes need that caffeine to keep me going! I know it’s best to try and limit it as much as possible, but so many of my friends didn’t who got pregnant straight away so I can’t see how it massively plays a role? Although I probably should try it after 10 months and no success! I may try decaf! I do have a couple of wines at the weekend sometimes, it’s the only thing that gets me through! 😅 x

@GreenApplesYo ah love the idea of a little running completion!! Me and DH were super active before the lockdown, little gym bunnies. But we seem to have lost our way even though they’re now back open, I don’t particularly want to go! But we do walk our dog everyday. We’re lucky that we’re both naturally slim (although, all the wine and chocolate seem to be catching up on me now!) x

KJS20 · 23/10/2020 13:52

@Izzie94 thank you, it’s not been too bad as ttc has been a great motivator to finally get my act in gear and stop. Honestly wish I’d never started! Husband quit years ago but hasn’t managed to stop vaping yet and don’t want to fall into that habit. Excellent news that people are still enjoying wine, I will treat myself if I don’t get a bfp this month! Sorry if I’ve missed it, hard to keep track of these threads - when are you testing?

@unCliche definitely not naughty, reassuring for me to hear! I think about all the people who end up pregnant without planning to who have been smoking / drinking etc so I doubt it can do that much harm in the really early days in moderation. Congrats on your weight loss, that’s amazing! I always find it too easy to put on weight this time of year when you just want to stay inside in the warm and eat nice puddings etc 😂

GreenApplesYo · 23/10/2020 15:02

@KJS20 @unCliche I know some people have found furlough really hard, but actually aside from wondering if I'll still have a job at the end of it, I've found it almost idyllic. Lots of cycling, cooking, time at the allotment. I've also started volunteering for a local charity. That said, I don't mind the idea of going back to work too much, having loads of time off in the summer is great, but I think a winter off work in the dark and cold would be way more of a challenge! I'm still not sure what is happening with my job, should find out mid-Nov. There is a restructure atm and I might have to go p/t.

Anyone else facing changes at work because of covid?

That's amazing with the weightloss @unCliche good work! I've never done hiit training, but I tried skipping a few years ago and was shocked by how hard I found it! It was horrific! I felt so uncoordinated. I could skip for hours when I was a kid...

Know what you mean @KJS20 about running when pregnant. Even though it's apparently OK if your body is used to it, still goes against the instincts? Plus... there must be a reason I've never seen a woman with a baby bump pounding along the pavements 🙂 Think I'll continue until I get a BFP and then talk to GP/midwife for exercise advice.
