@unCliche booo to AF! Angry Make some Hallowe'en baking or something nice to pamper yourself xx
No signs of AF yet, no. I'm between 11 and 14dpo today, so she still has plenty of time to show her ugly mug if it's nearer 11dpo. We will see.

@lilacflower12 I feel you. It's so annoying when you just have to wait a couple of days to see what happens but you want to know now!

How's everyone else doing?

unCliche · 30/10/2020 13:04

@HerringGull meh, it is what is it. I'm just more concerned about this 9 day luteal phase. I'd be all up for a short cycle if I ovulated earlier but 9 days doesn't sound good for fertility. Anyway! It's my first cycle so I'll keep an eye on things before seeking out a specialist.

I was craving cake recently and actually thought about baking one so I might make a lovely vanilla sponge cake today! And then drink some alcohol! Grin

Glad to hear AF hasn't arrived for you yet. And Sunday testing is right around the corner so I'm really looking forward to all the hpt results that'll be coming in. Do you have a good stock of tests at home?

HerringGull · 30/10/2020 13:21

@unCliche mmmm vanilla sponge! Wish you could send vanilla sponge over the internet hehe :P
Don't know much about luteal phases tbh but have seen other people talking about how you can lengthen them with some supplement (not sure what). Is this your first cycle off contraception did you say? Maybe you need another cycle or two to see what the pattern is.
I have one 2pack of tests. With #1 I only used one test and was happy with that, but think I might use both if I'm lucky enough to get pg again, to check for progression. Seems a good idea to hopefully put mind at rest. OH is working this weekend, but might get one of the days off, so if he gets Sat off I think I'll switch to test tomorrow instead, as I want to do it with him. Hopefully Sunday though as that would be better! x
How are you, @EllyNC291 ? Are you still holding out for a Sunday test? And maybe @AKC88 ?
@GreenApplesYo have you done more tests to see if it's darker? x

AKC88 · 30/10/2020 13:39

@HerringGull I'm going to try and hold out although the temptation will be strong with some of you testing!!

GreenApplesYo · 30/10/2020 13:50

@HerringGull @unCliche I think it's Agnus Castus for lengthening LP 🙂maybe worth trying if your LP stays around 9 days?

Oh that's very restrained just using 1 test with #1, probably sensible really! I did a FRER yesterday evening which was a faint positive. I'm 10dpo today so still very early days. I'll test again tomorrow. Not sure this 'seeing progression' thing is necessarily good for mental health haha. Definitely advantages to not testing too early! Stupid 2ww. I'll be pleased when I get past 14dpo🙂 Scrap that, I'll be pleased when I get to next July and all's OK! (yup... checked what the due date would be 🙄).

Mmm cake and booze.

@lilacflower12 I think it'd be good if you could find out whether you've conceived or not as soon as you ovulate. Like maybe your stomach changes colour or something. That way if you haven't conceived you could forget about it for a month.

2DPO - Anyone with me....!
HerringGull · 30/10/2020 14:02

Probably very wise @AKC88 Wink

@GreenApplesYo think you're right, pregnant is pregnant, no point testing too often and stressing yourself out. Enjoy the week or two of nice cuddly pregnant feelings before morning sickness attacks you! hahaha! When's your est due date?
What colour would you like your stomach to be?! It would be pretty unfortunate if you were a bikini model or something and the day after you DTD you turned purple!

unCliche · 30/10/2020 14:15

Looks like a great line @GreenApplesYo! Have you announced the news to your other half yet or do you have something exciting planned?

@HerringGull I couldn't wait and I've sent an enquiry to a fertility clinic haha! I just don't want to take any chances. I'm 28 in a months time so not in a hurry but I'd like to get a handle on things sooner rather than later.
You're definitely more restrained than most. I've read of people who test everyday until they're 6 weeks! I like your level of calm because I'd probably take a more chaotic approach and test up until the 12 week scan Grin

GreenApplesYo · 30/10/2020 14:25

Hahah I'm unlikely to ever be a bikini model myself, but yes it's a good point! Maybe it would have to be something more subtle than your whole stomach turning purple (thought purple was a good colour choice BTW). Otherwise there would be lots of people on a one night stand/in casual relationships etc having 'oh shit' moments as the woman changes colour... Awkward!

Due date based on the NHS calculator is 15th of July. I think that is quite a nice birthday. Although young in the school year. My little sister was an August baby though and that never seemed to slow her down. She was definitely a lot better at maths than me!

GreenApplesYo · 30/10/2020 14:29

@unCliche oh haha god I completely forgot there was an option of doing a fun announcement! I just got back onto bed and said, er I just took a test and it was a faint positive. He said 'what?!' hahah not exactly a beautiful moment!

HerringGull · 30/10/2020 14:48

@GreenApplesYo I never thought of the colour change happening literally whilst still DTD! lol! How would you ever sleep after that though? 15th July is def a good birthday, right at the start of the holidays :) Not sure how much school years matter really - pretty sure by the time you finish primary school it's evened out anyway.

@unCliche no harm in finding out is there, and if it helps fix it or puts your mind at rest, then that's good. Fire on with the chaotic approach! Sometimes think I am tooo laid back for life in general, not sure it's always a good thing!

unCliche · 30/10/2020 15:01

Haha bless him @GreenApplesYo. But at least now you can break the news at Xmas after your scans! It'll be a lovely gift for your whole family.

I wish I was too laid back @HerringGull. I just need to be in literal control of everything and I hate it. I'd love to just relax about some things. I think you're taking the best approach.

unCliche · 30/10/2020 15:45

Ok I think I've jumped the gun! (Just staying true to my chaotic nature Wink)
I was a religious fitbit wearer throughout this year and have a lot of data. I've also learnt my resting heart rate pretty much follows my BBT. So I've just plotted my resting heart rate (recorded by my fitbit) and looked at 3 menstrual cycles. I've marked every AF and everywhere there's a steep rise in RHR. Coincidently enough, the points I have marked have corresponded perfectly to my ovulation days with a 12 day LP (which is what I assumed I had).
So either this current AF is a fluke or I need to step away from the Excel spreadsheet. I'm an engineer btw, if that helps explain the analytical approach Grin

GreenApplesYo · 30/10/2020 16:36

@unCliche ah that's good? Will you cancel your appointment? Hopefully the 9 days is just a 1 off. Strange though! That is quite early.

I mentioned to DP about me not revealing it in a fun way and he said 'yeah you just handed me a urine soaked stick' haha

Hmm I have a period-like ache in my... er vagina/vulva. Does anyone else get that on their period? I hope it's OK 😕has anyone here had that when pregnant too?

unCliche · 30/10/2020 16:54

@GreenApplesYo I don't know. Maybe I'm going crazy? Who knows. I didn't have an appointment booked, just sent an enquiry but I probably won't follow through with anything just yet. The flow is light and I don't have cramps anymore so I'll see where it ends up.

Haha I think I would have made something to present to my DH if I got a BFP. But at the same time, I'd probably want to tell him straight away.

Yeah I get a very achy vulva sometimes during my period. Not all the time, but it's mostly during my period. Could be because there's increased blood flow down there now that you're pregnant.

xem87 · 30/10/2020 16:55

Can anyone see anything on this!? I don't know if my eyes playing tricks! Xx

Hi @AKC88 aw I don't know? Maybe a bit of a shadow, but wouldn't say I can see it for sure 🙂 have you tried upping the contrast/saturation on it?

@unCliche it's a weird kind of ache isn't it! Hopefully it's just all the extra blood flow yeah 🙂not much I can do either way!

HerringGull · 30/10/2020 17:18

@xem87 to be honest I'm not sure I can see anything. Always tough in photos though. How many dpo are you?

HerringGull · 30/10/2020 17:20

@unCliche not exactly sure what you're talking about tbh!! Do you mean your RHR shows you actually had a 12 day LP this cycle? Or do you mean your LP is usually 12 days and this 9 day cycle was a blip?

unCliche · 30/10/2020 17:25

@HerringGull I know I sound absolutely psycho. Even my DH confirmed my crazy when I showed him my spreadsheet. Yeah, I meant that my LP is 12 days usually but 9 days this cycle.

@xem87 sorry, I can't see anything either Sad

unCliche · 30/10/2020 17:26

And @GreenApplesYo, don't worry about it! Your body will start going through all sorts of random changes. Enjoy these few weeks before everything kicks in

HerringGull · 30/10/2020 17:43

@unCliche ahh I see! Well I guess you're right then, you've just got to keep tracking and hopefully it was a blip 😊 Good sign that it's normally 12 days I guess!

GreenApplesYo · 30/10/2020 17:49

Thank you everyone for telling me to relax and enjoy it 🙂the hand holding is appreciated!

AKC88 · 30/10/2020 18:26

Sorry girls, just did a quick comment and run earlier, took the kids out for the day and now I'm completely shattered! Fed the ducks, McDonald's, soft play, park, made pizzas, made our own chocolates-basically crammed the entire half term into one day lol!

One I get a positive I won't keep testing, I didn't with my others either. It would drive me barmy!!

@GreenApplesYo yes to the achy vulva in previous pregnancy, weird and wonderful symptoms (also got extremely swollen in later pregnancy Blush. Also my son is a late June birthday and he has just taken to school so easily, not phased my being the youngest at all! My preference would actually be a July/aug baby over a September one as I feel they have to wait soo long for school!

@unCliche sorry about AF, have some consellation prize wine!

@xem87 sorry chick I can't see anything either but it is super dark.

So where are you all from ladies? I'm Northern Irish but live in Worcestershire now

GreenApplesYo · 30/10/2020 18:54

Aw thanks @AKC88 that's reassuring! Probably is just increased blood flow. Feel like my boobs are already bigger which is funny. Do breasts stay bigger after pregnancy I wonder? Hmm 🤔🤞hehe

Sounds like a grand day out - if tiring for you! Did the chocolates come out well? I am looking forward to doing lots of crafting and baking 🙂 (not that I need a child to have an excuse I guess). Good that your DS is getting on well at school - my DP was a primary teacher until a couple of years ago. I wouldn't have thought about the summer baby year group issue tbh 🙂it's handy he'll be able to help with homework.

I'm from Yorkshire, I've lived in London for 5 years and Scotland for 5, now I live in Cumbria, close to the Lake District 🙂

AKC88 · 30/10/2020 19:22

@GreenApplesYo sadly no they do not stay big and perky Grin. I breastfed DS1 for 8 months and DS2 for 11 months so golf balls in a sock rings familiar haha!

They are in the fridge at the moment, verdict awaited. I'm not a good cook/baker at all so it's the easiest thing possible when I'm in the kitchen. Hubby does 90% of the cooking here.

Love the Lakes. I also went to uni in Leeds and lived there for 10 years do have a great affection for Yorkshire!
