Anyone gotten pregnant 1st month trying? Or in under 3

Asking for some reassurance lately, on my TWW and me and I feel like I see a lot of people saying they struggled while TTC or took a while

When I aired these concerns to a friend she mentioned that some people speak out about it to support others going through that etc, you very rarely hear of the stories where someone got pregnant quickly (which she then told me she got pregnancy first try which I didn’t know)

So my question is who here has gotten pregnant either first try/month or in under 3 months? Which I’d say is relatively quick

I treated it like a military operation. Coil out January, pregnant by March. And age wasn’t on my side. I made sure we had a lot of sex during my fertile window. It was definitely not romantic.

MaverickDanger · 16/10/2020 08:52

Came off the pill end of Jan, conceived end of March & due in December.

We just had sex every two days around ovulation.

taraRoo · 16/10/2020 08:58

Yes. First month with my first at 35 and currently pregnant after 3 tries with number 2 at 38.

A lot is made in the media about struggles to get pregnant. It is absolutely right that we acknowledge this for those effected. But it shouldn't skew the picture the way it does. If you and your partner have no fertility issues then it can be very easy to get pregnant - even at my age I believe there's an 80% chance of getting pregnant in 2 years.

Got pregnant every single time on first or second attempt. First 3 ended in miscarriage due to undiagnosed clotting disorder but rainbow is currently snoozing on my knee after leg thumping his crib all night. I tracked ovulation, cm and used pre seed.

Hope for a quicker road when trying for a second x

I got pregnant first time trying twice. Fist with my DD who is now 2 and second time this year. I'm currently 6 months pregnant. Thought it'll take longer as I have a chronic illness but doesn't affect conception apparently.

CarolVordermansBum · 16/10/2020 09:35

I have four children, two were born because I missed one pill in my pack, and the other two were conceived the first month of trying. All conceived late teens to early twenties.

anomletteandaglassofwine · 16/10/2020 09:40

Yes. 4 times!

Good luck OP

TillyTheTiger · 16/10/2020 09:42

First time I got pregnant immediately, I thought it would take ages as I'd been taking the pill continuously for 14 years but as soon as I stopped - BAM - pregnant!
Second baby we were trying for over 2 years (including a miscarriage). So you just never know!

bumpertobumper · 16/10/2020 09:44

Me... 5 times!! (2mc)
Last time I was 39
As others say, this isn't something I talk about IRL...

Sexnotgender · 16/10/2020 09:46

Me.

I’m 38, stopped taking the mini pill in June. Still breastfeeding toddler.
First period in July and I’m now 15 weeks pregnant.

Runningdownthathill · 16/10/2020 09:47

I did . Three times.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 16/10/2020 09:51

I did. With my third. Wasn't planned. Infact we were done. I came off my pill about a month before lockdown. Wanted a break from the hormones and we were just using condoms. Got a bit carried away one night and didn't use one. Bam, pregnant!

VoyageInTheDark · 16/10/2020 09:56

Yep. Was prepared for it to take ages and then it happened first try. DD born 11 months after our wedding. Currently pregnant again which happened third month of trying. I'm mid 30s

boomboom1234 · 16/10/2020 09:57

Me I got pregnant two weeks after stopping taking my pill. Second time it was a couple of weeks after we starting trying again.

ComicePear · 16/10/2020 09:58

DC1 - 3rd month of TTC
DC2 - 1st month
DC3 - 1st month

Trousersareoverrated · 16/10/2020 10:04

2nd month of trying. The first month I think I calculated ovulation wrong as my period arrived a week earlier than normal. The second month DH was going on holiday so we only DTD once 3 days before my predicted ovulation. Didn’t hold out much hope but here I am up the duff.

DH attributes this to his sperm as his ex-wife got pregnant the first month every time they tried (she had a few miscarriages).

I’m 37 and was worried about my fertility so we know how unbelievably lucky we are.

ZolaGrey · 16/10/2020 10:07

Yes, I was pregnant three weeks after stopping taking the pill. I don't really mention it in conversations about getting pregnant unless I know the person I'm talking to didn't struggle.

MabelG · 16/10/2020 10:44

Nope, been trying for many years - it is a complete lottery though so try not to compare yourself to others. It is very normal to take a year (and even a bit more!)

PlateTectonics · 16/10/2020 10:45

Yes, I was aiming for autumn babies and all three of my DC have their birthdays between mid Sept and mid Nov.

DinosaurGrrrrr · 16/10/2020 11:56

Each time I’ve been pregnant it’s been pretty much first month. First child was first month, second child was first month, I then got pregnant a third time first month but miscarried at 7 weeks, I had 1 cycle where I didn’t ovulate but then got pregnant again. I’m pregnant now and the due date doesn’t really make sense as there are less than 20 days between miscarrying and a new cycle. Either way it happened again quickly thankfully.

I think to say you find it easy to get pregnant is frowned upon, it almost seems boastful so you don’t tend to shout about it, whereas if you struggle you are far more likely to share with other people or seek advise on online forums such as this.

TeddyDidIt · 16/10/2020 12:14

Yes, all three times.

Bumpsadaisie · 16/10/2020 12:16

I did - first month of trying with both of mine.

I was 34 with DD and 36 with DS.

picklecustard · 16/10/2020 12:19

Took 2 cycles with both. I was in my early 20s each time and no other issues that could make TTC trickier so statistically that was nothing unusual.

I’m a bit older now and cycles are a bit irregular so I often wonder whether it would take longer should we TTC again..

Aozora13 · 16/10/2020 12:20

DC1 I’d come off the pill a couple of weeks before to give my body time to regulate before TTC. Had one-off unprotected sex but figured I was so old (34) and hadn’t had a period yet it was entirely unlikely. Yup, I was wrong.
DC2 was conceived on our first month of trying despite only dtd once as I was away during my fertile week.
Currently in the TWW TTC DC3 - I’m pushing 40 now so not counting chickens

With DC1 in hindsight I was probably a bit insensitive to people who’ve had challenges conceiving - I was struggling with feeling completely overwhelmed and not ready and not really thinking about the implications of what I was saying. Didn’t mention it with DC2 unless asked.

Bumpsadaisie · 16/10/2020 12:20

Don't talk about it in RL as it seems like such a great blessing and gift to have had two healthy children so very easily. Everything was easy, the breastfeeding, everything really. I don't want to shout about my good fortune.

The one difficult part was the first trimester with them both when I had HG and was on anti sickness treatments and pretty depressed. But it cleared up at about 17 weeks with them both. I wonder actually if that was a blessing in disguise as it made the whole newborn thing seem OK - yes I was tired etc but gosh it was a heck of a lot better than the first trimester!
