Anyone gotten pregnant 1st month trying? Or in under 3

Asking for some reassurance lately, on my TWW and me and I feel like I see a lot of people saying they struggled while TTC or took a while

When I aired these concerns to a friend she mentioned that some people speak out about it to support others going through that etc, you very rarely hear of the stories where someone got pregnant quickly (which she then told me she got pregnancy first try which I didn’t know)

So my question is who here has gotten pregnant either first try/month or in under 3 months? Which I’d say is relatively quick

Thought it might take a year or so
I was 33, pregnant second month of trying.
I was so shocked and stayed shocked for a couple of months!
Second baby took awhile.

Goslowlysideways · 15/10/2020 23:54

Yep. Four times on the first month.

cabotstove · 15/10/2020 23:56

Decided to try for baby, had sex once & just knew I was pregnant (I know that sounds crazy!).

Was on weekend break & discussing whether to go for DC2 & conceived that weekend.

In hindsight if I knew it would have been like that I might have tried for September babies etc!

happinessischocolate · 16/10/2020 00:06

Within the first week of coming off the pill with both of mine.

After much thought a friend and her DP decided to try for a baby but then changed their minds within the first month but then realised it was too late 👶

Titsinknicks · 16/10/2020 00:43

Yep three times. All one off shags and stupid mistakes. One termination and two miscarriages. Now I actually want to get pregnant I can't.

Athrawes · 16/10/2020 00:47

39 and pregnant first time trying. Had the baby just before my 40th birthday.

Livingmagicallyagain · 16/10/2020 05:47

Yes, first time trying, 4 times. Aged between 32 and 41. I was hypothyroid last year and so couldn't try till levo got that under control but got pregnant first try once it was.

gigi556 · 16/10/2020 06:18

Me. Pregnant on first try. Miscarried. Waited one cycle. Tried again. Pregnant first try. Delivered healthy DS1 9 months later. Smile

People don't like to brag because it's difficult for others.

I would say that I have used natural family planning for years so was very aware of when we needed to have sex to get pregnant which I think helped.

MB90 · 16/10/2020 06:20

Yes, I conceived in the first month we decided to try

MisiSam · 16/10/2020 06:22

I'm 13 weeks pregnant and I got pregnant 2nd month of trying. However with my 16 month old it took me 9 or 10 months of really really trying.

Tlollj · 16/10/2020 06:24

Yep really easily. First two not trying both accidents. Numbers three and four first month.

Cupoftchaiagain · 16/10/2020 07:03

Yup and it slightly screwed up some study/work plans as I absolutely banked on it not working right away! So happy and shocked. 2nd took 8 months of trying though. Likewise I don't tend to tell people so as not to hurt feelings.

Moo678 · 16/10/2020 07:41

Me. 1st baby I stopped my pill - had a withdrawal bleed then nothing. Was really sad that my ‘period hadn’t come back’. Kept saying I would never conceive because my cycle wasn’t starting up. 6 wks later got a blazing positive test. Then with 2nd baby we officially tried for 5 months but I was breastfeeding and hadn’t had a period - suspect we caught the first egg that came out!

AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 16/10/2020 07:56

Yes. I fell pregnant first month of trying with both my children. I've not had any other pregnancies other than those two.

ChickenDipper99 · 16/10/2020 08:02

Wow I’m blown away by the responses but also very grateful.

Just want to start off and say all of you lovely people who mentioned losses, I am so sorry for your loss(es) I cannot imagine the pain Flowers

Thank you for all sharing as this has helped my mindset a bit! I’ve been worrying that I may be infertile/it’ll take us a while as I see so many people mention it so I think it’s common but it sounds equally as common to be lucky and no one mentions that of course!

These have all been great but keep sharing! 2 days in my TWW and I need all the reassurance I can get that I could possibly be so lucky!

Me... got pregnant almost straight away once we decided to leave the contraception and see what happens.
Worked twice, didn't want to test it a 3rd time!

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 16/10/2020 08:09

I got pregnant first month of trying, and was 42 at the time.

DH: “what? I thought it took at least 6 months?”

Yesyoudoknowme · 16/10/2020 08:12

Totally outing but here goes... Tried for years with ExDH, eventually split up with no DC. Met a guy, got pregnant first time we slept together. Blush Had child, split up - years later met DH and we took precautions until wedding was booked etc and we decided to TTC but thought it would take a while, so threw caution to the winds and ditched the contraception 4 months before the wedding... you know what's coming next! Fortunately my wedding dress was bespoke and I was a biggish girl anyway so the only ones who knew were my dressmaker and us. Unfortunately my DS was 5 weeks prem which made it all the worse...

nicknamehelp · 16/10/2020 08:14

both times and yes I know Im lucky.

ForTheLoveOfDoughtnuts · 16/10/2020 08:15

First time stopped taking pill end of August, pregnant 3rd Oct.
Second time has coil out in May, pregnant 1st July.

Greenhairbrush · 16/10/2020 08:20

All 4 times was 3 months and under. 2 miscarriages though. One toddler dd and a very nearly fully cooked dc 2!

GrumpyMiddleAgedWoman · 16/10/2020 08:27

No more than 2 months, every time.

I'm still baffled about how I conceived one of them (I shouldn't have been fertile, so I was a bit surprised), and the youngest was conceived in the first month when I was in my my mid-30s.

Pumpertrumper · 16/10/2020 08:28

My cycles have always been irregular so whilst some last 28 days other can last 70. No reason for this, I’m perfectly healthy mid 20’s, had investigations nothing wrong.

For this reason I thought we might struggle. No, got pregnant with DS first cycle and am now pregnant again on first cycle trying. Honesty think it’s a bit of a lottery, if you’re under 35, in decent shape and no underlying medical conditions I think it’s 100% luck really.

sashh · 16/10/2020 08:45

My brother's wife, they thought it should take a while so started 6m into their marriage, there eldest was born 3 months after their first anniversary.

Some couples / women seem to get pregnant very easily and others it seems to take time.

cabotstove · 16/10/2020 08:48

My periods are incredibly regular & my mother & grandmother also conceived their dc very quickly. Don't know if that has an impact.
