Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 4

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@mumof23188 when it comes to predicting AF I find rhr more reliable than bbt as I often still have a high bbt at the end of my cycle 🤷‍♀️

My chart 😂

Afternoon

@mumof23188 ach, at least you know now but the 18 days is a bugger. I wonder if that coupled with the tests if it could have been a chemical 😞

Welcome to the next instalment of ‘what is going on with Poptyping’s RHR’ 😂😂😂

So I had that massive hike for ovulation and now it’s plummeted to 59 today. I’m 4 DPO. It’s weird as well as since my HSG I’ve ovulated on day 11 and have gone straight from low to peak with no flashies.

Answers in a postcard....

@Juno231 what a rise! 🤞🏻 For you

@poptypingchef what an odd fall, I’m sorry you’re not getting any consistency it’s so frustrating but 4DPO there’s a lot still to happen yet ☺️

No update from me, still no AF, boobs are killing me and had a couple of cramps so hoping not too long now 🤞🏻

GlassLily · 17/10/2020 23:40

@AnneZ31 awesome line, congratulations!!

@mumof23188 yes I'm doing BBT but I'm not very consistent with it. No rise yet, but all cycle my BBT has been .2 higher than it usually is before O.

I have just come up with a theory.
Context: I'm CD17 and RHR has just started to rise. I normally always get negative OPKs but a triphasic BBT chart. Last month I had a positive OPK on CD17 but BBT all over the place.

My theory is that I'm ovulating way late in my cycle. The triphasic charts were actually biphasic, and the second rise was when I ACTUALLY ovulated (so late that I had given up on OPKs)

So, now I'm going to start looking into vitamins I need to extend my LP - although I'm not deficient in anything except vit D, so I'm not sure if that will even work. Can anyone recommend a good thread or study/website about extending LP?

AF finally arrived for me this morning thankfully! Was having a v tough day with PMS yesterday and feeling loads better. Hoping my next cycle is better ☺️

Juno231 · 18/10/2020 08:48

@GlassLily how long are your cycles? I'd count back 12 days from AF for a rough idea of when ovulation was if the cycles are longer than normal.

Juno231 · 18/10/2020 08:50

@Ls2020 I'm sorry AF arrived though! Glad you're feeling positive about it - onwards and upwards on the next cycle!

@mumof23188 I'm sorry, I think I missed that you're AF showed as well! I second the CP theory, especially as some of your early tests definitely had faint lines on them :(

8dpo today? As expected, a dip today and back down to 66. Possibly implantation coupled with doing absolutely nothing yesterday?

Good morning guys, so sorry about AF arriving, but at least you now have a new cycle!
Mine will show today latest tomorrow. Spotting and cramping has increased since yesterday morning. Can’t wait for her to be here, so I can be done with this strange cycle 😂

Here’s my RHR finally. As you can see, it never went up much after ovulation on 6/10. Hmm

ambs1994 · 18/10/2020 16:17

Having loads of creamy cm today, almost ewcm like. Went to the loo and it was in my knickers and so checked myself and there was loads. Is this a sign?

GlassLily · 18/10/2020 22:46

@Juno231 usually 27-28 days. So I assumed I would be ovulating about half way, but I'm now thinking I'm actually ovulating more like day 20 or 21 🙁 which would explain the lack of BFP, since that LP would not be long enough.
Perhaps I should start vaginal temping to get a better idea (just oral temping at the moment). But RHR is actually really helping me! It's been so much easier than temping because my Fitbit does it for me 🙂

GlassLily · 19/10/2020 21:31

@ambs1994 any more signs?

Is anyone else finding RHR way more useful than temping? I love it, look, I'm back in business with a rise. CD19 and a positive OPK. This will make for a short LP but it's better than nothing!

ambs1994 · 20/10/2020 00:11

@glasslily not sure really. My rhr has dropped past 2 days but keep checking cm and sometimes its really creamy, other times watery Confused i was in bed early tonight, by half 7 so was really tired. I need to go to the shops for some tests

ambs1994 · 20/10/2020 00:12

Oh and i keep getting a pain in my left side as if someone keeps prodding me which I'd expect that the egg has possibly come from that side @GlassLily

SarahTTC2020 · 20/10/2020 10:04

My heart rate has gone down to basically pre-pregnancy levels 🥺🥺 7 weeks today and now wondering whether this is a really bad sign 😭

GlassLily · 20/10/2020 11:04

@ambs1994 fx for you!

@SarahTTC2020 don't panic. It looks like your RHR has varied quite a lot anyway, so maybe just normal! Also I read another thread about this on a different website and there are people there who had RHR plummet and feared the worst, and it all turned out absolutely fine!

SarahTTC2020 · 20/10/2020 12:22

Thank you @GlassLily , I had to stop searching threads because you see so many miscarriage stories

kirinm · 20/10/2020 12:57

@SarahTTC2020 I had to stop wearing my Fitbit when I was pregnant because my RHR started to drop but I now have a very loud and energetic 2 year old. As I got bigger and heavier, my RHR increased again but that isn't surprising when you've got a 36 week old baby you're growing!

Juno231 · 20/10/2020 13:10

@SarahTTC2020 both SmileyT and Mrsi2020 (i think!) plus a third lady recently had the same - and it's super common around 7-8 weeks due to the shift from yolk to placenta from what I gather. Try not to worry and perhaps take your fitbit off?

SarahTTC2020 · 20/10/2020 14:49

Thanks ladies, maybe I do just need a break from MN and my Fitbit 🙈 I guess it doesn't really matter whether I'm doing my 10k steps or not, I know whether I've been active or not

Thank you for replying though it really does help xx

Mrsi2020 · 20/10/2020 17:12

@SarahTTC2020 I panicked for the same reason, booked an early scan. All was fine and my heart rate did exactly the same as yours! @Juno231 is right, she told me the same at the time and I can vouch. It stayed low for a couple of weeks and is now gradually rising (10 weeks today) but it still isn’t as high as it was.... forgive me if I already know this , but have you or are you booking an early scan? Please don’t panic over this , it’s totally normal. Xxx

SarahTTC2020 · 20/10/2020 17:39

Thanks @Mrsi2020 how are you doing?
I haven't booked a scan yet, might book one for 10 weeks but might just wait and see as well x

ambs1994 · 21/10/2020 07:27

11dpo and this is my chart
Not really sure whats going on at the moment. Still have watery or creamy cm now and then, never really dried up. Cervix seemed closed today but i don't know what its usually like just before AF.
AF is due from anywhere between tomorrow and Saturday.

GlassLily · 21/10/2020 11:39

@ambs1994 that looks brilliant! Surely that must be a good sign. Will you test if AF doesn't arrive tomorrow?

Here's my chart - 1DPO. I can't believe how reliable this seems to be for tracking ovulation. Had ovulation cramps yesterday which was interesting, not something I've noticed before.

How is everyone else's chart looking?

I’m on CD4 after days of spotting and a short LP of 11 days.
My RHR hasn’t dropped as low as this in a long time. At night time it’s between 44-48. Hope my period is soon over.
