Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 4

Juno231 · 14/10/2020 15:12

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@LV1987 I would think that is a little bit too low for 8dpo as they say 6-8dpo to have the 21 day bloods done and they should be above 3?

LV1987 · 09/11/2020 16:07

@lucyrp I wasn't asked what CD I was when they booked me in... Assumed it was because I was irregular but would have thought Day 3 would have been pretty easy for them to pin point 🤦‍♀️ Looks like another wasted month then!

Juno231 · 09/11/2020 16:14

@LV1987 Are these day 3 or day 21 bloods? The report should show you all the normal ranges under your results so that it gives some context as whether you should worry about anything. One thing I would pay special attention to is the TSH level - NHS deems anything under 4.2 as normal but actually anything over 2.5 is deemed to lower your fertility, cause miscarriages etc so is worth challenging as they won't mention it. Looking this up for you made me realise that mine are over 3 btw so I def will be pushing back on that!

Other than that, make sure that:
prolactin

@LV1987 oops just saw you've had them! Progesterone should be over 30 for ovulation so sounds like you hadn't ovulated by that point... Def something to chat with the GP about and get going with something to kickstart ovulation in that case! Do you temp?

OP posts:
lucyrp · 09/11/2020 16:18

@LV1987 oh well if they are bloods to check if you have ovulated they should be CD21 bloods or 6-8dpo. If just to check the other hormones then it should be CD3.

LV1987 · 09/11/2020 16:46

Thanks ladies... I just wish the doctor had bothered to talk to me about these!

@Juno231 I don't temp - we've had a couple of cycles of trying to be more relaxed as everything was so over the place it was stressing us both out too MUCH.
FSH 6.5 and LH 16.6, so perhaps was just gearing up to ovulate?

Testosterone is at 1.4, doesn't look like I have a figure for prolactin unless there is another name for it? TSH 2.45 so right on the cusp of OK for TTC.

LarasMama · 09/11/2020 19:39

@LV1987 I am hypothyroid and my doctor always told me my TSH should be around 1 ideally. If you have hypothyroid symptoms as well as prolonged period of unsuccessful ttc, I may ask your GP to put you on a small dose of l-thyroxine.

That’s what’s going ob here, but my RHR dropped to 54 couple of times this morning. No symptoms, no spotting this month...Not even PMS. I’m sure AF will ahow up soon tho.

So many typos! Sorry ladies! 😁

LV1987 · 09/11/2020 20:14

Thank you @LarasMama I will pop that on my list of questions for the doctor. I also had quite high cholesterol - 5.7 - which shocked me as I do eat quite well. But, I have just read that this can go hand in hand with hypothyroidism, due to the slower metabolism. My list is getting long! I was naively hoping for, "Oh hun, your bloods showed you're already pregnant, congrats!" 🙊

poptypingchef · 10/11/2020 01:27

Hi everyone

Took a bit of a break from MN but I’m all caught up now.

I’m CD11 (12 technically as it’s late 😂) hoping for the best this month after the CPN but we’ll see.

Any news @mumof23188

LS2020 · 10/11/2020 07:11

@poptypingchef welcome back ☺️

@mumof23188 my RHR dropped again at 9dpo so not looking hopeful for me 😔

@Juno231 I didn’t know that about TSH! Mine was 2.2 so just under but had no idea

LarasMama · 10/11/2020 07:58

@LV1987 It’s fascinating how everything is linked in our bodies and especially in the endocrine system.

@poptypingchef Hi!

Back to 62 today at 10dpo. I also have light cramping. I’m definitely out!

mumof23188 · 10/11/2020 11:43

Hi everyone! Will have a read through and catch up. I’m definitely not pregnant 😩. I went and got a test this morning and it’s negative, well apart from the bloody indent!! Was about the 4th wee of the morning so will test again tomorrow but I know I’m out. Will attach a couple of pics! Tweaked one, the other is original!

@mumof23188 I see a line. And if that’s not even with fmu I’d say that’s pretty good! Will be keeping my fingers crossed for a better line when you retest. Don’t count yourself out yet! How’s your temp and rhr looking? How many dpo are you? Xx

mumof23188 · 10/11/2020 14:18

@Moominmiss I think it’s an indent? Will test tomorrow morning and see. After seeing your post I took an IC and a OPK. I think there is something on the IC? But I think I have mega line eyes! I’m 12dpo today. HR stuck at 65bpm. Here’s my chart!! I don’t think this is my month!

@mumof23188 I feel like I can maybe see a line on your ic too 🤞🏻

You’re still nicely above your cover line so at 12dpo I’d say that’s good. When is af due for you?

Xx

I think I see something on the IC too 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Hi guys, remember me....I created this thread way back when.
I took a few months away from Mumsnet to try and balance myself but....today u got my BFP!

Only tested to rule it out as my heart rate was 71 yesterday and went down to 70 today so I was convinced I was out (also slightly worried that it dropped too so I've decided to take the Fitbit off for the minute)
It's still really early days as my period isnt due till tomorrow but I feel so different from the first time I was pregnant, my boobs barely hurt and I've had a sore lower back 🙄

I've only taken one test (will upload photo when I'm back home, currently at Morrisons getting some more tests cos I can't quite believe it!)

Have attached my chart of heart rate for you guys! And I will obviously keep you updated once I've peed on more sticks

No idea why my heart rate chart didn't upload but here it is.

Also just back from Morrisons and got their own cheap brand as well as first response, did the Morrisons one and it was neg but that was about 30 mins after I had peed on the clear blue....so HOPING I just haven't held long enough.

LarasMama · 10/11/2020 15:42

@Alicespring Congratulations! That’s wonderful! Don’t forget every pregnancy can be different. 🥰

@mumof23188 With DD the cheapie internet pregnancy tests hardly showed anything. The clearblue digital one showed the Plus and 1-2 Weeks pregnant within 30 seconds. Maybe try
that once AF is due. 🍀

LarasMama · 10/11/2020 15:43

i would test with fmu after not being to the loo for at least 3 hours.

Alicespring · 10/11/2020 15:50

@LarasMama thank you! I think I'll wait till morning because I'm so bloody nervous I'm peeing every 2 minutes 😂

Juno231 · 10/11/2020 16:01

@Alicespring I keep wondering how you're doing and here you come with a BFP and an amazing rhr climb at that!! Well done Grin. How many DPO are you?

Aw thank you! I just needed some time away, we all know how stressful it can get!
Well I didn't actually track my ovulation this month, because I was trying to relax about it a bit, but I think about 13/14dpo
