@BettyM90 yeah it can be confusing mine have been fluctuating too, and yes the test line needs to be as dark as or darker than control line. Mine was like that and then this morning first thing I done a test and it was my peak! When you put you OPK test onto your app it should tell you if it's high low or peak x

@RBCoxie when are you due af? X

RBCoxie · 18/10/2020 21:15

@BettyM90 OPKs can definitely be confusing - from your picture below I would say that you haven't reached peak yet but your app will tell you when you have. Mine have fluctuated too, I'm on CD14 - yesterday I got a strong 'peak' then early afternoon I got a low and then this evening I got an even stronger peak than yesterday so it's been high, low, peak. It can depend on what time of day you take it too.

@MummyToPrince both apps are currently saying 4 November - feels like a lifetime away already! How about you? x

MummyToPrince · 18/10/2020 21:21

@RBCoxie Mines due on the 1st, literally feels like so long away 😂 Im already thinking whether to test on the day before AF or the day af is due x

OP posts:
RBCoxie · 18/10/2020 21:27

@MummyToPrince it's going to be so hard not to test - I'm determined to wait until AF is due this time. I don't think I can go through the up and down like last month! I want to be 100% sure it's a BFP if I do see one 😂 I'm going with the tactic of not buying them so I physically don't have them in the house! You are officially two weeks away though so you'll be able to test in two weeks!! 😊 x

BettyM90 · 18/10/2020 21:33

@MummyToPrince I’ve been using the Femometer tests and app which has been saying whether it’s high, low or peak. I’ll just keep going with them but I think I’m starting to feel a slight pain in what feels like my left ovary...maybe ovulation pain? 🤷🏼‍♀️
@RBCoxie thank you :) I’m hoping for a blazing peak reading soon! did you think your high was peak? Or did you just carry on testing? I’m also unsure when we should be DTD, currently been every other day as trying to do SMEP just worried I will miss my peak 🤣 x

RBCoxie · 18/10/2020 21:41

@BettyM90 yeah I thought my high yesterday was my peak but I carried on testing just in case and that's when I got my higher result today (after a lower one early afternoon) - I'm just going to keep testing until it's consistently low to be sure. Do you know what day you normally ovulate? If in doubt, DTD if you can, just in case!

BettyM90 · 18/10/2020 21:49

@RBCoxie I’m not really too sure. Last month I used the CB digital and got about 12 days of flashing smiley faces! The two apps I have are predicting the 21st and 22nd? X

RBCoxie · 18/10/2020 21:51

@BettyM90 ah I've never really understood the digital ones - I prefer to actually see the line 😂 typical old school over here haha! If the apps are predicting around 21-22 then I'd imagine you get a higher reading/peak around 20th? I could be totally wrong though. I would keep on texting if I were you at roughly the same time each day and see what happens - you may peak slightly later and the apps will then adjust x

MummyToPrince · 18/10/2020 21:53

@RBCoxie I don't have any so I'm hoping I can wait until atleast af is due, we can keep each other strong, I wonder is we feel the same x

OP posts:
BettyM90 · 18/10/2020 22:00

@RBCoxie I thought the digital ones were good at first as less guess work but to be honest they stress me out more and making me wonder if I do actually ovulate 😩
My apps are saying that AF is due on 6th November...so surely I can’t be that far behind you and @MummyToPrince 🤞🏻🤞🏻 X

Supermathsdoc · 18/10/2020 22:10

@BettyM90 I would say you havnt peaked yet... do you have any other signs?

BettyM90 · 18/10/2020 22:13

@Supermathsdoc I’m not really sure what other signs to be looking out for apart from EWCM? I noticed a fair amount of it this afternoon but then I’m not sure if it was or whether it was just from DTD (sorry if that’s TMI) x

BellaBella84 · 18/10/2020 22:32

So I was aiming to DTD Friday, Saturday and Sunday and I got 3/3! Now to draw up an epic cleaning rota waiting for AF on the 29th 🤞

Also I can't believe you guys have finally got me saying nonsense like "doing the deed" and "Aunt flow"! I sound like I'm 10 years old! 🤦‍♀️

Supermathsdoc · 18/10/2020 23:44

@BettyM90 I think this is the first cycle I’ve noticed / it didn’t happen before but I am sure I had ovulation pains on Friday, I was also temping and noticed my temp went up on Saturday - so I thought maybe those sorts of things could be helpful? I also notice I get EWCM starting 3 days before and then stopping the day after ovulation.

I find these other markers helpful when the OPK tests suggest early or later ovulation than I was expecting...it looks like you havnt hit your peak yet but it might a good time to start testing twice a day?

RBCoxie · 19/10/2020 07:27

@MummyToPrince yes!! That's the great thing about being at the same time! I wrote down how I felt every day last month so I have something to look back on and compare - crazy, I know, but at least if I feel something I can be like ah no felt that last month, not a symptom! Is your app saying ovulation today? We got this 💪🏼 x

@BettyM90 yeah, i can see how people find it easier to read them, I just prefer seeing the two lines! I think it also depends on the length of your phases throughout your cycle so you may ovulate later and then have a shorter luteal phase. I also wouldn't worry if you don't see a gradual incline - I went from nothing to high immediately - I've put my OPKS so far below (I have tested today so it's up until yesterday)

@BellaBella84 that's great!! Get cleaning that house!! 😂 we have house renovations going on atm so I'm planning on spending to TWW painting to keep my mind occupied. Hahaha don't get me wrong, I don't use these terms in real life 😂

Ovulation around 17-22 Sept who's with me?
MummyToPrince · 19/10/2020 08:44

@RBCoxie yeah it says I ovulate today :-) Ive got a diary too of how I felt last month! I took another OPK this morning and it was barely noticeable, I was hoping to DTD twice yesterday but only managed once at midday as I couldn't keep my eyes open last night, was dosing off at 7pm.. I'm worrying about it abit but there's nothing I can do about it x

RBCoxie · 19/10/2020 09:14

@MummyToPrince ah amazing! Mine says exactly the same. Haven't taken an OPK yet as I get the best results at about 5pm so I'll see what happens then. I wouldn't worry too much about not DTD twice - you still have high fertility today so I would try today too if you can! x

MummyToPrince · 19/10/2020 09:19

@RBCoxie I'm definitely going to DTD tonight and tomorrow night... This is so exciting :D x

OP posts:
RBCoxie · 19/10/2020 09:33

@MummyToPrince that's our plan too - fingers crossed my OPK starts to get lighter and then stays down! It's so exciting!! Feeling quite positive this month - although I'm sure I felt like this last month too 😂 I just feel more organised and like I know what's going on, if that makes sense? x

BettyM90 · 19/10/2020 10:08

@Supermathsdoc do you find that temping helps? If I’m not successful this cycle I may try next month. I’ve been testing with the internet cheapies at about 10am and then again at 6pm but most of the tests seem higher in the morning? I’ve just done a digital one this morning too and it’s a flashing smiley :) so hoping that it’s moving in the right direction!
@RBCoxie there’s definitely no gradual increase on yours! That’s very definitely a peak reading to me! Our bodies are such weird and confusing things! I’m such a control freak and hate not being able to control it lol x

MummyToPrince · 19/10/2020 10:08

@RBCoxie yeah that makes sense, i feel relaxed at the minute and I feel positive for others but not myself, if it's not my month then its because I didn't DTD as much as I wanted but I thought I ovulated earlier 🤦‍♀️ time will tell :-) x

OP posts:
RBCoxie · 19/10/2020 10:20

@BettyM90 lol nope! No gradual incline at all. My gosh tell me about it - I love to plan so I find it incredibly frustrating too!

@MummyToPrince yeah I totally get that - on the plus side, you definitely caught your peak, later than expected but it was still definitely there 😊 another plus is that now you know to keep testing with the OPKs just in case - always good to learn something per cycle so if you do go into the next one (🤞🏼 you don't!) then you can do something different next time that increases your chances x

robodo · 19/10/2020 10:27

Anyone else having a bad day? I all of a sudden feel a bit down thinking its not going to happen this month because we only bd'd three times around and on ovulation, im 4dpo and freaking out now. Although I know it only takes one time because it happened with my first one bd 2 weeks later pregnant (completely unplanned) . I hate the female body and hormones sometimes

Supermathsdoc · 19/10/2020 10:28

@BettyM90 for me temping is a bit hit and miss. It’s also more useful after the fact.

I’ve attached a pic of my temps this month as you can see it’s not the most useful thing for prediction! But it does tie in with my LH peak on Thursday and maybe ovulation Friday / Saturday so I hopefully my one shot on Friday might do the trick!

As you’ve probably seen I’m using a donor so you name it, I’m testing it! With the OPKs I find my strongest line is my second wee of the day. But it what works for you I think.

Hope this is the one for all of us x
