Hey ladies,

Thought I'd start a new thread for anyone new to this like me 🙋🏼‍♀️

We're TTC after a change of plans when COVID postponed our wedding 🙄

Currently cycle 1 of TTC WITH AF due in 3 days.. I think I can feel it coming tbh.

Didn't use any form of ovulation tracker other than Flo (which I've used to track period for years) this cycle.

@beckyBP @Bramleyapples13 Yeah after posting that I went online anyway to have a look at what supplements are good to take and am now about to head out for CoQ10 and an omega 3/DHA one as well 🤦🏻‍♀️ Told you I was prone to it!

PinkPlantCase · 04/08/2020 14:51

@beckyBP this it what my OPK did so you start off not seeing much but then it gets darker. Apparently some people’s can peak really quickly though so it is possible to miss it. You ovulate generally on the day after the peak when the LH levels drop.

Best if luck for this cycle everyone! I’m just waiting for AF now 😏 feels like such a long wait doesn’t it.

I am also now completely off the medication I take for my migraines though and nothing too horrendous has happened 😁 so we’ll be all safe to TTC next cycle.

@somanystars I'm exactly the same! £50 I spent on that lot 🙈😂

Thanks @PinkPlantCase that's really helpful!

Yes good luck everyone for the cycle!! 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Yay to being off the migraine meds 👏🏽👏🏽 that's one less thing to worry about xx

Oh dear going into third month TTC... my cycles were previously 25 days and this month 27... feel like my body may be adjusting to removal of implant praying for this cycle to be ours!!! 😬

Marden11302 · 04/08/2020 17:32

I think we’ve decided to stop ttc and wait until after the wedding.
I’ve got such bad anxiety that I won’t fit in my dress, that I’ll be so stressed about it all that it’ll effect the pregnancy, just my gut telling me I should wait.
It’s so difficult, we’ve wanted this for about 5 years now, and there has always been something in our way. Finally thought that the plan to ttc after our “August 2020 wedding” was fool proof, then along comes flaming covid. Feeling really down today 😔

Bramleyapples13 · 04/08/2020 17:57

It's ridiculous the amount some stuff costs isn't it. I've literally been sticking spinach into practically every meal since I read greens are really beneficial healthwise Grin though I did get told if another bit of spinach ends up in tonight's tea it'll be thrown at me 😂

Bramleyapples13 · 04/08/2020 18:01

@beckyBP @somanystars what's COQ10 and DHA? I was wondering about the vitamin D but I work outside and thought that may be a bit redundant. Then I read that some multivitamins have some vitamins in that they recommend to be careful with?

Bramleyapples13 · 04/08/2020 18:04

@Marden11302 is there someone you can talk to? It's incredibly hard to make a decision to TTC anyway, then to have something like Covid that can immediately place you in such a position that it makes you feel like it's not the best time to try is a horrible thing. I know I've questioned myself as to if it's the right thing to do for us at the minute.

Big hugs.

beckyBP · 04/08/2020 18:12

h @Marden11302 I'm so sorry. Totally get the wedding stress. We've decided to not plan a new wedding until we give TTC a good go but it's so so difficult! And so unfair that Covid ruined our plans!

@Bramleyapples13 COQ10 is said to improve your egg quality as it DHA!

Hey ladies! Just checking in. Hope everyone's ok.

I (think I) ovulated yesterday so the TWW begins. Although, we didn't DTD yesterday and don't think we will be today (he's in a foul mood and now I am too) so i'm not confident this month will be successful.

Love to hear how you ladies are getting on.

OP posts:
PinkPlantCase · 12/08/2020 06:58

Well we were planning to wait until next cycle but I was really upset one evening because I’d opened a crap email from at 11:30pm before bed. So we DTD to take my mind off it 😂🙈

It was 7 days DPO so I think it’s unlikely it’ll lead to anything it just made us laugh. Not exactly the circumstances expected to begin the baby making. If I do get pregnant this cycle we definitely won’t be naming the baby after my manager.

Lol 😂 promise I won’t give a blow by blow account next month. AF is due at the weekend so just have to wait an see. And then start properly next month.

@beckyBP I’m surprised by how fertile the apps etc say we are before ovulation. Apparently best case is already having sperm waiting there. So you never know, if you DTD anytime in the last 5 days it could still be doing something!

I guess the heats making everyone a bit rattier. Fingers crossed for you.

beckyBP · 12/08/2020 09:41

@PinkPlantCase well it would sort of be karma for your manager if you did as you'd be taking time off!! Haha. It's good through because it was an impulse start and not forced.

You're more than welcome to! It's actually so helpful to share stuff here.

We've actually DTD every other day since AF (other than last night) so I guess that's something.

My flo app was WAY off on predicted FW. I did opks for the first month and I think I actually ovulate like 4/5 days later than I thought.

OP posts:
Bramleyapples13 · 12/08/2020 10:53

I'm on holiday and completely forgot to do the OPK until yesterday and it was a solid smiley on the Clearblue kit. I'm hoping that was the first day of it!

Meg87 · 12/08/2020 13:30

Hi all, hope everyone's good. I've no idea how many DPO I am, as I've been pretty confused by my OPK test results! I've had a second LH surge on what my app is telling me are 4 and 5 DPO, so I don't understand what my body is doing Confused
My partner and I haven't DTD much the last week or two, partly because he's been away for a few days, and also it's so hot! Also, I definitely think I'm putting too much pressure on myself with this whole TTC thing to enjoy sex as much as I did before we started trying. I definitely need to try to relax about it all.

beckyBP · 13/08/2020 10:17

@Meg87 totally get you. It's so hard for sex not to become a chore.

We DTD every other day after AF and typically didn't on the day of ovulation or day after.. or day after that because he was in a foul mood and it's been way too hot!

Can't force it though can you!

Hey, i just got my implant out on monday, so we are starting to try and convince. Its so nerve racking but teyinf not to put pressure on it. We got married oct 19, then i got a new job march so had to wait so i would qualify for maternity. So fingers crossed it happens x

Meg87 · 13/08/2020 16:05

Hi @Bk23. Fingers crossed for you! It is quite nerve wracking isn't it. I'd love to just take it easy, but I'm not that sort of person, especially as I'm 33 and my partner is several years older than me. I know 33 isn't old at all, but if we want more than one child I feel a bit under pressure to get pregnant sooner rather than later.

It's also really exciting though, I just can't imagine how I'll feel if I get a BFP!

@beckyBP well done for DTD every other day, I'm sure I read that the days before ovulation were your most fertile anyway, rather than the day of (or the day after), so sounds like you're in with a shot! If my app is to be believed, we DTD the day of ovulation, and five days prior, which is probably too early to help. So we haven't helped our chances too much, but I'm trying not to stress as it's still our first cycle!

Bk23 · 13/08/2020 16:49

Hi @Meg87 its easier said then done, we are trying to look at it from a more fun point of view lots of practicing so DTD doesnt get serious if that makes sense. Im 28 and finally have a permanent job so the time feels right lets hope my overies think the same 😂 x

Bk23 · 13/08/2020 21:50

How long has everyone been trying for? Curious to hear everyones stories so far x

acaciabluebell · 13/08/2020 22:15

Hey guys I'm also ttc #1. AF is pretty much here so I'm about to start my 5th cycle. I can't believe I'm typing these words tbh, I honestly didn't think it would be this hard. We stopped using contraception in May and first 2 months we weren't properly trying but dtd regularly. After those 2 months I joined mumsnet, tracking ovulation and started taking supplements etc. Nothing yet, never even seen a hint of a second line on the dozens of pregnancy tests I've taken. The whole process is so stressful tbh and I feel like it's taking over my life especially as I'm working from home and have been for months, with not much else to do. I can't wait until I can go back into the office and be busy again so I can have other things to think about!

PinkPlantCase · 13/08/2020 23:12

@acaciabluebell that sounds so frustrating! Waiting for each cycle to come round must feel like forever. After a lifetime of being told it’s so easy to accidentally get pregnant and now it not just happening overnight feels really strange. Have you been ovulating?

I’ve told myself so far that I’ll only take a pregnancy test if I miss a period. Hoping to avoid any of the disappointment that could come from getting a positive followed by a period. I was amazed by how many pregnancy test reviews said they gave false positives!

@beckyBP I don’t blame you for not DTD in this heat! My DH hasn’t been particularly up for it in the last few days either.

AF is due around this weekend for me. Though I’m not completely sure what length my cycles are yet so mustn’t get too excited it’s a day or two late.

beckyBP · 14/08/2020 08:26

@Meg87 it is exciting you're spot on. I feel the same too.

Hey @Bk23 I'm 29 and we were due to get married in June but obviously Covid had other plans. We decided we didn't want to wait for a family anymore so now the (fully planned) wedding is on the back burner. This is cycle 2 of TTC and I'm in the TWW.

OP posts:
beckyBP · 14/08/2020 08:28

@acaciabluebell bless you. It is a stressful process and as you say, working from home definitely wouldn't be helping as there's very little to distract you.

Feel free to rant or vent on here.

OP posts:
Bk23 · 14/08/2020 10:30

@acaciabluebell, it sounds so frustrating, i know the feeling of working from home and its so easy to just go do a test and check. Hopedully you arent waiting to long, fingers crossed.

@beckyBP this is our first time ttc so its exciting but scary its just the unknown.

Hope everyone is having a good day and dont forget to enjoy DTD lol
