Hey! Looks like our thread filled up

@Positivity2019 @Wearenotyourkind @hwotsit @jx0x0

@Wearenotyourkind nothing us women can't handle. It was just like an uncomfortable smear but nothing to faint over how some women were saying it was but then again everyone is different. I didn't feel the dye go in or anything :)
How are you?? X

Hey everyone,

Lovely to hear all you updates. Sorry there is no good news yet but my main outtake was that we are all so brave and I genuinely believe we'll all get there in the end!

@Wearenotyourkind I am sorry to hear about your cycle still being a bit off. Great that your doc has asked for advice from a gynae. I hope they back to you quickly so you can formulate a plan of action. I hope counseling helps. I've had therapy in the past and found talking to someone who is totally outside your life really helpful.

@hwotsit Sorry to hear Aunt Flo came knocking again. Sending you positive vibes. I have been thinking about doing some acupuncture. I heard someone talking about it on a fertility podcast (I can't remember who now.) They said it was really helpful in their journey. I'd love to hear more about your sessions and if you think it's helping you. Also how do you go about finding a good one?

@Positivity2019 Glad to hear your cycle is feeling more normal. I am hoping this cycle is your lucky one. Sounds like the relaxed approach with lots of DTD is an ideal plan! Enjoy!

@Missgoldilocks I hope you're well. X

I am just finishing my IVF stims. Egg collection and sperm collection (is that what it's called?) booked for Thursday. Good job we did it because my DH is now away with work for a lot of September/October! The last few days I have felt a bit bloated and crampy but otherwise it was totally fine. I didn't find the hormones effected my mood very much. Also the needles are so thin that the injections are not painful at all. (I hate needles / am really squeamish so trust me when I say they are not bad!) If any of you end up on this path then I can assure you it's not as bad as you think it's gonna be. I was expecting it to be far more overwhelming. We are having PGS so no transfer until October but pleased that we'll have egg retrieval out the way.

I know I've said this before but walking has been such an amazing help for me on this journey. Especially the last few weeks. I find just putting a podcast on and walking around the park or just around the streets has helped my mental health so much. If I don't do it one day I really notice the difference. I would really recommend getting something like that into your routine. Also I am making sure I eat five fruit or veg a day. It's just a basic thing but it helps me feel in control of something and I like thinking of my body being full of all the nutrients it needs. Maybe that sounds really obvious but it's really helped me!

Love to you all.

x

@Wearenotyourkind that is rough how long it’s taking for things to settle down, you must be so frustrated. Glad to hear you have spoken to your GP and can maybe get some support through that. Plus the counselling will hopefully help too. Hopefully things will settle down for you in your cycle this month and you can feel a little better about everything.
I’m glad to be back working with the kids. They’ve slotted back into nursery routine like pros and we are just trying to establish a new normal. It’s certainly helped me take my mind off things.

@hwotsit we sure do seem to be in sync with our cycles. Mine seem to be settled at about 25 day’s just now though the few months in the run up to the pregnancy I was at 27 days so fingers crossed this cycle will reach that.
I am nae keen on needles at all. I’m interested in what the acupuncturist is saying about vitamins etc? I feel like I am stabbing in the dark with the vitamins I take, I worry I might be doing more harm than good.

@jx0x0 sounds like some amazing progress is being made with your IVF which is great. I really hope it all goes well. Sounds like you’ve some good habits on the go too. Those positive things will really help you learn mindset.

Wearenotyourkind · 31/08/2020 11:44

Hey all - thanks for the sympathy with the fucked up cycles. The good news is, hopefully things are starting to settle down now. I'm CD8 today and fingers crossed it stays normal. The AF I just had appeared normal, so I'm really hoping things are back to how they were before the MC. More good news, GP got a response from gynae and they're not worried about my newest fibroid (picked up on MC scan). As it's intramural, apparently they don't think it'll affect further pregnancies and they don't think I need it removed - have already had 3 gynae surgeries. But will have another scan at some point.

How's everyone else getting on?

MF1981 · 31/08/2020 12:22

Hey guys can I join? Also been TTC since July last year. It's the pits isn't it?!

Wearenotyourkind · 31/08/2020 13:31

Welcome @MF1981 sorry you need to join us. What's your story?

MF1981 · 31/08/2020 14:25

Thank you! I'm 39, TTC since July last year after coming off Femodene which I was on for most of my adult life. Went to see GP in Jan, got referred for tests in Feb and then everything stopped due to covid. All my hormone tests and scans are normal and good for my age, although I have slight polycystic ovaries, but my other half (who is 30) has had two pretty bad sperm analysis results. We're now just waiting to see if our appeal for NHS funding has worked before we head into IVF before the end of the year. Sadly my area doesn't fund unless you've started treatment before you turn 39 and I turned 39 the day Boris announced total lockdown.

Positivity2019 · 02/09/2020 20:42

@Wearenotyourkind I’m so glad to hear that you feel like things are getting back to normal. That’s also great news about your Gynae appointment.
How are you feeling otherwise?

@MF1981 welcome to the group. Sorry to hear you are struggling as well. I hope you get some good news about the IVF funding soon. How have you been since you started trying? It’s such a rollercoaster of a journey. Are you trying for your first?

@hwotsit @Missgoldilocks @jx0x0 hope you’re doing fine.

I am on CD14 and today I got a peak reading on my clear blue monitor. Haven’t had a peak since the month I conceived my ectopic sooooo man I’m hoping this is our month. I’ve had so many ovulation symptoms. It’s a relief to feel things are back to normal and even if we don’t conceive this month I’m hoping it’ll be soon.

MF1981 · 02/09/2020 21:03

Thanks @Positivity2019. Yes it’s my first time TTC - never been anywhere near pregnant! I think I always think this month is our month so try to stay positive but I won’t deny that it’s always a disappointment when AF appears. The last few months I’ve had brown and some red spotting from about 6DPO through to AF but apparently my progesterone is fine so no idea what’s causing it. It’s really getting me down this month for some reason.

Thanks @hwotsit. My partner is now on all the supplements either advised by the consultant or the starts with the egg book! He'll rattle if I shake him! So hoping it works. I'm now 7DPO and had a BBT dip this morning. Also more spotting but more red and with a clot this morning. Slight cramps. No idea what any of this means - feel really lost this month.

Positivity2019 · 05/09/2020 11:12

@hwotsit thanks for the info on the vitamins. I think I’ll stick with Pregnacare and the B vitamins then. I started taking coq10 ubiquinol but it’s quite pricy and I’ve decided I’ll wait a few months before going back to it.
This may sound cliche, I’ve read it a lot on threads here but don’t feel downhearted about this cycle. The month I conceived me and my partner both felt like we had had a meh month. We hardly DTD at all, I barely tracked a thing. I was feeling so sure that this was never gonna happen that I’d stopped trying and so had he. It was middle of lockdown and I was definitely in a funk. Anyway, what a surprise when we got those two lines. I think what it has taught me is that it can happen at anytime, even if we’ve had a crappy month. Always maintain a little hope in these cycles, it will happen for us eventually.

Positivity2019 · 05/09/2020 11:18

@MF1981 man I really get how you feel. Before my pregnancy in May I had never had a whiff of a positive pregnancy test. It was just a tedious journey of trying to figure out what the heck was going on with all the hormonal curveballs that come our way. Trying to stay positive is the hardest thing to do for sure. Glad to hear your partner is on the vitamins after his SA and hopefully that may help some.
Could your dip and spotting be implantation? It’s a possibility? Fingers crossed for you. 🤞

MF1981 · 05/09/2020 16:11

Thanks @Positivity2019. My temp went back up yesterday but down again today (although not as much) and still the constant spotting. I swear there’s a progesterone issue but my consultant said my bloods were fine. Although they were done at the beginning of the year and the change in my cycle started at the beginning of lockdown - I guess hormone levels can change over time can they? I really don’t want to go down the ivf route but it’s looking more and more likely that we’ll start treatment at the beginning of November. Next cycle might be my last chance saloon! x

Positivity2019 · 06/09/2020 09:52

@MF1981 hormones just have a mind of their own. So hard to tell what the heck they are doing and they have such an impact on fertility. It’s such a big decision going down the IVF route and although you feel this is your last change for natural conception just think that you could be expecting by Xmas. It could be the best thing you do.
Rises and dips are so frustrating. I usually see a dip and rule out the month. There are so many factors at play with BBT that can knock it off but I guess it is usually a reliable method.

MF1981 · 06/09/2020 10:49

@Positivity2019 thank you. How’s things with you?

Lemurville · 07/09/2020 11:58

Hi all,
Just wondering if I could join you on this little thread; am finding things a bit hard tbh and any support would be appreciated, just to know that I am not alone! Lol
Started ttc Christmas 2018/Jan 2019. Not helped by cycles randomly went very irregular from oct 2018, having been totally normal and regular up until that point from when I started periods as a teen. Doctors done various std tests and found nothing apart from t4 levels bit low (tsh normal though) and I did have reasonably high bmi (technically obese). Have lost weight now technically overweight and still going, am on v low level levothyroxine, and hit a bit of a wall in terms of treatment/ investigations. Frustrating and gets me down sometimes as ppl I know not had issues conceiving and several got pregnant and had baby since we started. Happy for them but sometimes feel like poop. Sad love to all x

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the group @Lemurville and @MF1981. Everyone here is super lovely so hope you get some strength from being here. I am sorry you're both struggling. It really is the pits!

@MF1981 I hear you when you say you don't want to go down IVF route but I did my egg collection in August - which I think hormonally / treatment wise is the hardest part and I can assure you it's less overwhelming than you think it's going to be. Needles are so small you can barely feel them going in. For me, the only not so nice bit was after egg retrieval I felt v tired and a bit sick for a few days. However, that was just cos I was a bit over stimulated and even that was fine tbh.

@hwotsit I know what you mean with no being able to imagine those two lines. I can't imagine it either. Hopefully when it finally does happen for us it will just feel all the more amazing. Are you still doing acupuncture? And how is it going?

@Positivity2019 I hope it happens for you again soon. And how's work going? Must be full on but I hope it's distracting you at least.

@Wearenotyourkind How is this cycle going? I hope things are a bit more settled for you? Great that you got all clear from gyne and that your last AF seemed normal. Fingers crossed for you. Must be a relief after months of disruption.

I am waiting on the results of my PGS. We had eleven blastocysts to test so hoping that we get a few good ones. Fingers crossed.

Love to all! X

Lemurville · 11/09/2020 19:36

Thank you for the caring messages @hwotsit and @jx0x0. The problem is they are saying either I want treatment for the irreg periods, which seems to basically mean going on the pill or another med to artificially regulate the cycles but obv means no pregnancy as even if not the pill would be something else with side effects and /or risks which would mean we would effectively have to use contraception and therefore stop trying. Or I say the issue is infertility in which case they start from scratch looking at why not getting pregnant, despite it being obvious that's because I'm not having regular cycles! And one of first tests is dh giving sample which he is reluctant to do tbh because he's a bit squeamish on this and we both know its me rather than him. I'm 34 and he is older so don't want to wait too long really. Actually had a bit of breakthrough this week as have received appointment with endocrine, which was referred start if year but delayed cancelled and rearranged several times because of you know what. So am trying to keep positive. Hope that makes sense.
Also thanks for letting me join, keeping my fingers crossed for you all x

Hi all, hope you’re all doing fine.
Welcome to @Lemurville, sorry to hear you’ve been on such a long journey. This is definitely a lovely place to get some support and reassurance and to vent when you need to.
@jx0x0 11 blastocysts is great. I hope things go well for the next stage of your IVF. You must have all the emotions on the go at the moment!! Work is all go for me for sure, lots of cleaning. However it’s great to have the kids back.
@hwotsit like you I am just waiting for my period to start. It should be due around Tues but could come at any time. I did a pregnancy test yesterday and today because I’ve gone a little PT mad but both were negative. I’m not ruling out doing one in the morning either 😂.

On a separate note my partner and I bought a house this week and are absolutely over the moon. We are so busy getting all the paper work sorted that it’s definitely taking my mind of stuff. Gives us something amazing to focus on and take our mind off things.

@Wearenotyourkind @Missgoldilocks @MF1981 hope you’re doing fine ❤️

Wearenotyourkind · 13/09/2020 12:34

Hi everyone. Hope the sun is shining today where you all are ☀️

Congratulations on the new house @Positivity2019! That's such fab news! When will you be moving in?

Welcome @Lemurville - sorry to hear you've had such a difficult journey so far. Some people make getting pregnant look so easy! Well done on losing the weight, this is brilliant. I also have a high BMI so am working hard to bring it down. Got weighed yesterday and have lost a stone since I last weighed myself, so I'm really pleased with that. Hopefully you'll find this group as helpful and supportive as we all have.

I totally relate to what you're saying @hwotsit about not feeling that it will ever happen. I know I'm not pregnant now, but I honestly felt like this before we conceived. I really thought I'd would never ever see those 2 lines. It will happen - just some of us have to hang in there a lot longer than others. But we are all on our own individual journeys and I find it helps to focus on that.
