@Workingmama1 sorry you had a down day :( they can creep up on you sometimes can’t they. Hope today is going a bit better xx

@Starfish762 wow I don’t think I could have stomached DTD yesterday morning! We did manage last night though so 🤞 and will again tonight so hopefully have got all 4 fertile days covered if the CB test is right.

Is anyone else using the ClearBlue advanced tests? This is my first cycle trying them instead of the cheap ones. So far they seem much less faff, hoping they’re accurate, it’s weird putting all your trust in technology rather than analysing lines!!

Threnody · 13/07/2020 19:13

@Poppy10121 I used the Clearblue advanced digital tests last month just to try them, alongside regular opks, and tracking bbt. I found them very easy to use I got 3 mornings of flashing smiley faces and on the third day I got a static smiley around lunchtime. I got the same results with the cheapie opks, 'high' results (according to femometer app) for a couple of days then positive at lunch on the third day. According to bbt I ovulated 2 days after the static smiley.

Poppy10121 · 13/07/2020 19:52

Thanks @Threnody that’s good and reassuring to know! I’ve run out of my cheaper tests so just using the ClearBlue ones for now, I only got through 5 this cycle as I ovulated quite early it seems so have some left for next month too.

Starfish762 · 14/07/2020 06:34

Had a shocking nights sleep obsessing about AF so done a FR test this morn, BPN as suspected. Just wish AF would hurry up! CD33 & 9DPO today.

@Poppy10121 I’m also using the CB advanced ovulation tests. I started on CD8 & didn’t ovulate till CD24 so used 1.5 boxes on first cycle 🙈 So depending on what happens next cycle I might have to stop as it’ll end up very pricey. I find the sticks quite complicated though!

Firevie · 14/07/2020 06:40

Morning Ladies! I have my ERPC scheduled for today, so I will be joining this thread as soon as I can. I got my cheap ovulation sticks delivered from Amazon yesterday. I also have the CB ones but I think I will start out with the cheap ones to get a feel for where my body is at after the ERPC. Wish me luck!! Xxx

Threnody · 14/07/2020 07:51

Good luck @Firevie, hope it all goes ok.

@Poppy10121 fx you don't need next months!

@Starfish762 9dpo is still early for a test, my earliest ever bfp was at 9dpo.

Starfish762 · 14/07/2020 07:56

@Firevie thinking of you & sending lots of love and strength. We’re here for you xx

@Threnody oh no you’ve planted a seed of hope again 😂 TBH I had a tiny bit of bright red spotting over the weekend & such late ovulation I don’t think I am, I just wish AF would hurry up!

Poppy10121 · 14/07/2020 08:47

@Firevie good luck and hope it all goes well, we will be here whenever you need it!

@Starfish762 no way! I would have gone mad testing that many days in a row let alone the cost 😱 is your cycle settling down post miscarriage so you can predict when it might be next time (if you need it - hopefully this is your lucky month!)?
I’m kind of over all the peeing on sticks but my ovulation has been all over the place since MMC (CD8, CD16, CD12) so I will keep doing it until there is some pattern.

I think yesterday was my ovulation day but husband had injured himself exercising and wasn’t up for DTD - so annoying! That’s two months in a row now we’ve missed the peak day 😫 it’s not his fault so trying not to make a big deal but it’s disappointing when you’re counting down to it every cycle!

Starfish762 · 14/07/2020 09:30

@Poppy10121 yes I thought I was doing something wrong or had not ovulated but @PurplePansy05 told me she ovulated on CD25 on her first cycle so I kept going. No idea if my cycle is settling down, it certainly doesn’t feel like it atm. But AF came exactly 4 weeks after MVA so I thought that was good (I didn’t track that cycle as weren’t TTC then), so will see what happens next one. Sounds like we’re all a bit all over the place, I’m sure we’ll settle down eventually. But then who knows, maybe we ovulated at dif time every month anyway & we just don’t know it. It’s like a whole new world tracking it & looking out for signs, I’m learning a lot about my body at 34 years old, finally lol.

How frustrating you missed DTD, but you never know, with sperm living inside you could’ve still caught it. Fingers crossed!

Firevie · 14/07/2020 09:32

Thank you everyone! I am feeling strong and confident and can’t wait for the ERPC so I can just hopefully move on. Sending all you wonderful ladies strong and positive vibes for the day xxx

Poppy10121 · 14/07/2020 10:31

@Starfish762 I feel the same! Also 34 and barely knew anything about my body or cycles before this, was on the pill for a million years and back when we started TTC all I did was stop taking it and hope for the best! I was saying to my mum the other day, I feel like since the MMC I have become an overnight expert on the science of conception 🤓

When I got pregnant with the MMC we were just DTD every other day so who knows, I just don’t feel lucky this month though!

Threnody · 14/07/2020 10:47

@Poppy10121 I read that dtd 2 days and 1 day before ovulation is most likely to result in conception.

I've been tracking on and off while ttc for 6 years (!), and have ovulated as early as CD16 and as late as CD28. I've always tracked, even though we got pregnant first try, as I assumed we'd have trouble since I was 34, and my mum took 4 years to conceive my sister.

Sakura54 · 14/07/2020 11:12

I haven't got much to contribute anymore, but I'm still here in the background cheering you guys on and waiting in the other thread! I know there will be more BFPs very soon.

SkyBlue20 · 14/07/2020 11:33

Hi all!

@PurplePansy05 How was the haircut?! I am so happy to have mine done - I have a fringe and it was a ridiculous length so I can now see again!

@mrsAndeke Ahh I grew up not too far from Stockport! I moved to North Manchester a few years ago now though but still miss the South.

@Workingmama1 It's so normal to have your low moments, sending big hugs. xx

@Starfish762 Yep, finally told the parents, BIL and SIL and best friend and that's it now. Kind of just burying my head in the sand for a while so everyone knows not to talk about it too much to me - the only place I really want to chat about it is on here, it's all a bit terrifying otherwise and I'm finding that by almost ignoring it (obviously within reason - I'm still taking care of myself and not drinking etc) it's helping me stay a lot calmer. It doesn't really feel like it's happening at the moment (which in itself brings its own worries - I was up at 6:30am Googling 'lack of symptoms in early pregnancy' 🤦🏻‍♀️) Thank you for asking 💕
I'm so impressed and jealous that you did the London marathon last year - it's a life goal! How was it? How intense was the training (very, I imagine)?

Good luck today, @Firevie! Sending strength and positive thoughts xx

Like @Sakura54, I feel like I don't have too much to contribute at the mo other than general chit chat but nothing related to TTC (especially as I've never done OPKs, just DTD every other day, so can't even chime in on experiences with that). However, I'm definitely still cheering you on and keeping up with you and would love to stick around if you're happy with just general chat ☺️

@firevie good luck today x

@Sakura54 keep hanging around! I had a sneaky look at the pregnancy thread to see how everyone is getting on, hoping I can join soon.

@skyblue20 yay for telling parents. I can understand your approach of burying your head in the sand, whatever gets you through the day!

I made it back up to high on my opk today, at cd13. Only 12% but I'll take that. Got excited yesterday as it showed a really high high, then realised it was picking up a bend in the stick not the actual line 🙈. Think we need to start dtd maybbe every other day or so now until o get my peak. Just need my daughter to actually sleep at night so we have the opportunity to! @threnody it's interesting your ovulation has been so all over the place, did you get a longer cycle with the late ovulation?

Poppy10121 · 14/07/2020 13:06

@Threnody I hope you’re right 🙏🏻 You’re always full of positive news for me, thank you ☺️ I can’t believe you’ve been tracking for so long! Does it become less stressful and more habitual after a while?

@Sakura54 and @SkyBlue20 it’s always nice to hear from you both 😊 I like hearing how everyone is doing from the original MMC thread because that was such a dark time for us all and it’s lovely to know that people are doing well, regardless of whether you’re TTC or been successful already! 😊

ShouldEyeShouldntEye · 14/07/2020 13:43

Hi All,

Can I join your thread? I had a D&C two weeks today after a missed miscarriage. I was 10 weeks but baby had died at 7 weeks.

I was told to take a pregnancy test after two weeks. I took it just now. It’s so strongly positive that I’m shocked. Did many of you get positives two weeks after D&C? And if so were they really strong? I’m worried I have retained products and will need further surgery. I’m also sad as I hoped to immediately TTC again as I’m 42 and time is very much not on my side.

Any advice much appreciated.

Starfish762 · 14/07/2020 20:22

@SkyBlue20 Aww it’s nice people know and can support you, even if you are almost acting like it’s not happening (I’d be exactly the same). I honestly never thought I’d ever actually do a marathon, but a few places came up at work so I applied & thought if I was lucky enough to get it I’d take it as fate. The training was full on but not quite as bad as I expected, only near the end when you’re doing a really long run per week & your shorter runs are like 7-8 miles 🤢 My daughter was 1.5 when I started the training & 2 when I finished so I pretty much gave up my social life for it & prioritised it in between mothering & working. But when you have a 2 time goal in mind it’s different. Honestly can barely run 2 miles now, so frustrating but not a level of commitment I could’ve kept up. I always thought the thought part would be training in winter but it was fine, I hate running in the sun/heat. All this makes it sound like a walk in the park, I cried a lot & thought WHAT ARE YOU DOING 😂 But I managed it in 4.52, we can do anything we like if we commit & put the work in. But never again! 🤣

Starfish762 · 14/07/2020 20:24

@ShouldEyeShouldntEye Sorry you find yourself here, but please join us yes, this forum’s helped us all immensely. So sorry for your loss. My test was negative but I did ask the nurse during my MVA what would happen if it was positive & she said they’d prob recommend waiting another week to test again. Maybe ring your local EPU in case their advice is different & they want you to go in?

Smilingdonkey · 14/07/2020 21:03

Hi everyone 😊
Hope you are well. Just checking in really! Love to all xxxx

Starting TTC again after missed miscarriage part two
Shinea · 15/07/2020 08:29

Hello everyone,
Hope you all are doing good.
After my MMC(April 6), after ovulation I always have this sharp twinging pain on left side of lower abdomen. This pain comes on ovulation and be there till my Periods. Once I get period pain goes off and comes back on next month ovulation and stay for another 2 weeks.
This is my 3rd cycle of TTC.
I dont know if it's something to worry about or quite normal or is it reason for me not being able to conceive in last two months?

Firevie · 15/07/2020 08:37

Morning ladies! So, I had my ERPC yesterday and got home last night. So far all good. Still bleeding but doc said it is normal to bleed for a bit after the procedure. I will be taking each day at a time. So, here goes my first question for anyone who has sadly had to have an ERPC - how long did you bleed for afterwards? Wishing you ladies a great day. Sending positive vibes xxx

ShouldEyeShouldntEye · 15/07/2020 10:38

@Firevie I am glad it went smoothly. I had mine 15 days ago. I bled much less than I expected. It was like a heavish period for 3-4 days then heavy spotting for 10 days with one day inbetween where it surprised me by getting heavier. It stopped completely 2 days ago. But I just had a strong positive so maybe I didn’t bleed enough? Were you told to test after two weeks?

Poppy10121 · 15/07/2020 10:41

Hi @ShouldEyeShouldntEye sorry you find yourself here :( but welcome. I didn't have a D&C, I had medical management but I continued to get a positive pregnancy test for 3-4 weeks afterwards, even though I had a scan that showed no retained products. If you are worried I would contact your EPU and ask for a scan to check for retained products.

@Firevie glad to hear it went well. I haven't had the procedure so no words of wisdom but wishing you a swift recovery xx

I had my first counselling session earlier this week, it was really helpful to speak to someone completely unconnected to my life and not to worry about their feelings when talking about things. The counsellor told me she didn't think I should be TTC until I have addressed the grief from the miscarriage. I was kind of surprised (I've never had counselling before and thought they would just listen not give me advice!) but now I'm wondering if she's right. I think I've thrown all my energy into getting pregnant again with the hope that it will repair the feelings of loss, but the truth is it might not, and things might even get worse rather than better. I'm still thinking about it.
