Hi,

We have just hit the 12 month mark of TTC and looks like AF is on the way Sad I am on another thread that's really supportive but I do find it disheartening when people get positives on the first couple of cycles of trying. So thought I'd start a thread for anyone around about the year mark. It'll be good to share things and get advice from people who are at a similar stage to me. Im 34 and my husbands 36. We are TTC number 1 x

@OrdinaryLilac I NEVER see the lines when people post squinters but I can see that!! And at 11dpo you're not even late yet, you're not late until about Tuesday.

Keeping those fingers crossed for a darker line in the next few days!

Nat4392 · 10/07/2020 14:55

So after my initial consultation yesterday, I’ve got an appointment through for my ultrasound in less than 2 weeks! I’m in total shock how quick that is! Who knew I’d be so excited for a vaginal exam?! 😂

OrdinaryLilac · 10/07/2020 14:59

This is what's confusing me @planbea.. If I wasn't doing some form of tracking such as the Opks, I would have expected my period to arrive around CD 30. I'm now on CD38 hence why I keep saying I'm late. Knowing that I usually am always on or around 30 days. Its just so confusing to me haha.
I'm so happy you can see a line! It wasn't that good of a picture either! I'd say these have more colour?

I'm really hoping to bring some confirmed good news to this post in coming days!! 😁

@OrdinaryLilac defo can see lines in both pics and the one before. No squinting required! I can see why you think you're late but you're not if you know when you ovulated and how long your LP is. What an exciting weekend ahead for you! Please do keep us updated Smile

PlanBea · 10/07/2020 15:41

@OrdinaryLilac oh it would be good to get a full confirmed BFP here! I can see it in all those pictures. This is why cycle tracking is so helpful, even though you'd normally be late you know you're not. It's going to be a long weekend for you haha!

Whilstwewait · 10/07/2020 16:24

@OrdinaryLilac definitely a line there and with your late ovulation you aren't technically late yet. Amazing news. So pleased for you x

@lauralozzle we get 2 in our area. However if you have one private cycle they knock it off your NHS entitlement so just be wary of that. We are going private now. Id wait for NHS if i was younger but wait times after covid are just ridiculous. I got referred March and wont be seen as gynaecology until October earliest then by time they refer me to clinic it'll just be too long and im 35 in October so not happy to wait. If i was in my 20's i'd wait for NHS. Its definitely worth researching your options x

Hi everyone some good news today as my NHS GP has agreed to send me for tests now so I'll be able to get another day 21 test that will hopefully be conclusive this time!

@notyetamumbuttrying not to be negative in any way but do check your local thresholds, where i live you only qualify if you are under 35, but in the next county (3 miles away) its under 40. I'm stuffed as I'm 38 unless I can register with a GP just across the border. Its such an incredible postcode lottery.

Motherofkittens28 · 10/07/2020 18:49

@OrdinaryLilac I can definitely see something, hopefully it will get stronger and stronger xxx

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/07/2020 19:26

Thank you @Motherofkittens28 I definitely will! It's on my to do list for tomorrow. I'm not 35 until March so still have a few months yet. I think if nothing happens by October, I'll be hounding my GP for the referral!
Yay to more blood tests! Have you had your day 3 tests yet? Has your hubby had SA done yet?

Motherofkittens28 · 10/07/2020 19:47

@notyetamumbuttrying ooh, what's the day 3 test? All I've had so far is a day 21 test that was inconclusive, I paid for that privately because the NHS were saying they wouldn't do anything for 12 months. I think its the days of spotting before AF last cycle that has convinced them to help now, although only been 9 cycles of active trying (12 months since we started). We did private SA that came back fine, i know I have endometriosis though and when I froze my eggs at 35 I was told my AMH was low. I'm glad to hear you still have lots of time, its my age that really panics me, I don't think id be so worried if I were a few years younger. I had the nurse who took my day 21 bloods say to me that the women just put their careers first and then wonder why they struggle to get pregnant when they are older! I can't speak for all older women but I was single for most of my 30s delaying motherhood was not a choice! People say the most insensitive things sometimes.

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/07/2020 19:55

Wow that is so rude!! @Motherofkittens28 and in that profession too, it's beggars belief! I met my Dh at 28 and we just took it slow. Only got married last year and started trying a month after the wedding. I woulda started earlier but once we got engaged I didn't want to be pregnant for the wedding or on honeymoon lol so we waited literally one month and not even a sniff of a bfp..
So I'm not sure what the day 3 ones are for but I know the usual is to day 3 and 21. So it'd be worth getting those done as well so that you have all bases covered! I'm glad his SA was fine. I'm holding out until the end of the month and if AF arrives again I'm calling docs as that'll be cycle 12. I hope you get your bfp soon!

Motherofkittens28 · 10/07/2020 20:03

Thanks @notyetamumbuttrying. Met my fiance when I was 35 and its our three year anniversary next week. We have the same issue re our wedding, we are getting married almost exactly a year from now. My grand plan was to have had the baby a year before the wedding, but obviously that didn't work out! Fingers crossed for a BFP for you soon too xx

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/07/2020 20:08

@Motherofkittens28 and to you! At least you know exactly when the wedding is. I loved planning ours so much. It's a shame you can't plan a baby the same way isn't it! X

VenusTiger · 10/07/2020 20:09

TTC no.2 17months - have pretty much given up tbh - I'm pretty certain it's my DH's sperm - he's on vits and I've had scans and bloods - he won't have any kind of test as we agreed we wouldn't go down any invasive routes, IVF etc. so didn't see the point. It's heartbreaking.
I'm nearly 40 and DH is 11yrs older than me.

Hayley19835 · 10/07/2020 20:21

@notyetamumbuttrying @Motherofkittens28
The 3 day tests are FSH and LH they check ovarian function and/or failure. I had mine at day 3 and they were raised so I've had to have them done again but on day 2 this time to double check them. They think I might be pre-menopausal from from first lot of results but wanted another lot to double check x

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/07/2020 20:53

@VenusTiger won't he get a semen analysis done?
@Hayley19835 thanks Hayley! Oh dear, how are you feeling about the potential diagnosis?

Motherofkittens28 · 10/07/2020 21:07

@Hayley19835 thanks, thats good to know. I'll ask the GP about that next time I speak with him. For now he's just arranged some swabs to get for any lady part health issues and the day 21 in two weeks. Really hope your new results come back with positive news!
@whilstwewait sorry, just reading back over the last few days messages. My Progesterone was 20.5, which he said was "unequivocal "

VenusTiger · 10/07/2020 22:13

@notyetamumbuttrying nope - he doesn't see the point and when I told GP he didn't want to go down any invasive routes, he agreed that there's no point either - I asked GP if there's any meds he could take if he had say low sperm count etc. and he said no. It's SO frustrating! but I have to respect his decision as it's both of us in this. I have pretty much given up trying tbh - I used ov sticks last year for a few months even though my body is spot on telling me when I ovulate and so I can count on the symptoms of ov now, and I fell pregnant first month with our son, and I was on the pill for 14yrs solid.

creepin · 11/07/2020 02:02

Hi everyone ❤️ I'm one round from the year mark and getting a little discouraged... TTC number one, I'm 31 and hub is 32. Nice to see this community xx

OrdinaryLilac · 11/07/2020 09:06

So this morning I am here, bringing some positive news 😁 TTC number one, one year later and today I have got my BFP! Yesterday's tests was much fainter. But it's getting stronger guys!

It's still very early days, I believe I am currently 12dpo.

Keep going guys. I am truly over the moon and still cannot believe it!

Hayley19835 · 11/07/2020 09:11

@Motherofkittens28 thank you I'm hoping so to! defo ask about it. I had no clue when I went to my GP what was needed the first doctor I saw told me to chill out relax I was overthinking things but I wasn't happy with that. I saw another doctor who wasn't impressed I'd been told that and referred me straight away. The fertility clinic then sent me for further tests as the first doctor only sent me for a day 21 test which for me on a 24 days cycle needed to be done earlier. I've had swabs, bloods (including progesterone, Fsh and LH, a full abdo ultrasound and a HSG) x

@notyetamumbuttrying
when she first told me I was so taken aback I'm 36 and still having regular cycles surely I can't be pre menopausal she must have that wrong 🤷‍♀️ Trying to stay positive and see what this next result says x

@VenusTiger my OH was the same didn't want to do anything but he's come round to the idea and after doing research I've found it could be something easy to fix if his count is low. It won't harm to have it checked and then do nothing if that's what he wants. Men hate this sort of stuff x

@creepin welcome sorry to hear you are struggling also x

Hayley19835 · 11/07/2020 09:13

@OrdinaryLilac congratulations that's great news 😬 x

notyetamumbuttrying · 11/07/2020 09:22

@Hayley19835 fingers crossed for you then! 36 is very young for that so I hope it isn't!
FW for me so off to try and jump hubs 😝
Chat later ladies 👋🏾

VenusTiger · 11/07/2020 09:34

@Hayley19835 he'd be happy to take some sort of supplement if that's all it took - but without the room with a cup (even if at home)! What's the story with the easy fix then? What am I missing, should I be reading something? GP said there's no easy fix. It's all too much sometimes.
