Hi,

We have just hit the 12 month mark of TTC and looks like AF is on the way Sad I am on another thread that's really supportive but I do find it disheartening when people get positives on the first couple of cycles of trying. So thought I'd start a thread for anyone around about the year mark. It'll be good to share things and get advice from people who are at a similar stage to me. Im 34 and my husbands 36. We are TTC number 1 x

Thanks @notyetamumbuttrying, @Whilstwewait, @Hayley19835! A step in the right direction hopefully!

notyetamumbuttrying · 03/09/2020 14:43

Thanks @Hayley19835 he called and they're not bk yet 😣 will try again tomorrow!

CL345 · 03/09/2020 19:49
@Jilly1988 yes meant to be normal. My 2 friends had it for 4 weeks and had healthy babies. I've not rang doctors as nothing they can do anyway. How are you getting on?

@CLaurenx so sorry you find yourself here as well. When i set up this thread I was so fed up and depressed. It can and will still happen for you though. The next cycle could be the one xx
I really really do hope so! I thought I was pregnant because I was 4 days late, felt ever so sick in the mornings to the point the thought of food make me want to throw up.
My boobs were hurting but then I came on yesterday and I was so so so gutted I really thought it was my time Sad.
I'm currently taking Pregnacare (Before Conception) daily and hoping this may higher my chances. Just really hoping to be pregnant before Christmas 🤞🏼 xx

CL345 · 03/09/2020 19:53
@CLaurenx aww so sorry to hear but can totally emphasise! Did you get all the numbers and figures bk so that you could google yourself or share with others on here? Sometimes their term of "normal" could still be low or high in one hormone or the other that you can fix with supplements/diet etc.
@notyetamumbuttrying no i didn't know that. They just said there wasn't anything to be worried about and was "normal" that's all they said. They weren't overly helpful to be totally honest! But thank you so much for your help. I have a call with my doctor next week so I will ask for my results then and hopefully get to share with you guys! Thank you for your response and trying to help me xx

Whilstwewait · 03/09/2020 19:54

@motherofkittens28 so annoying waiting for the sperm analysis back. Is this the first one he's done? Be a relief to have it back

@notyetamumbuttrying hoping it doesn't take too long to come back. Aw glad I've given you hope. I remember seeing people get their positive like month 13 onwards and it gave me hope but I still couldn't imagine it happening and here I am. Im feeling a lot better today. My spotting has stopped. I didn't sleep well at all last night. Think its a mix of nerves and excitement x

@Whilstwewait i bet you don't know yow to feel after so long, expect it doesnt quite seem real!
This is his second SA, the first one was private and they said it was fine but we needed an NHS one to get the referral, hopefully nothing has changed!

@notyetamumbuttrying hopefully they come in tomorrow. My other half has been told 3 to 4 business days so I'm expecting Wednesday next week. Mind you they have to do the test immediately so I'm not clear why the results take so long!

notyetamumbuttrying · 03/09/2020 21:43

@Whilstwewait ahh I bet! You got the midwife appointment booked in? Yet again I'm convinced I'm pregnant and it would be so lovely to be this month as it's a year to the date of coming off the pill when I'm due on, or thereabouts. I really hope I can be in your position one day soon!

@CL345 defo do that! You'll then know far more, that's what I did with my day 21s. Gonna get my day 3's done if I come on mid month. Hubs is hopefully getting his SA bk tomorrow! 😬

notyetamumbuttrying · 03/09/2020 21:44

@Motherofkittens28 oh really? Mine was told 10 days!! It's been 15 days tomorrow so no idea why they're not in yet?! Hope it's not a bad sign 😬 Hope all goes well for your other half!

Annny27 · 03/09/2020 22:02

@Whilstwewait yep spotting is totally normal :)

@notyetamumbuttrying haha how many dpo are you now? I am 1 or 2dpo so not enough time to fwel pregnant yet. After 7dpo I start to get crazy 😭😭😂😂

notyetamumbuttrying · 03/09/2020 22:10

@Annny27 3dpo now so pretty close together aren't we. Ah yes, I'll be going crazy next week too. Such fun 🤪

Whilstwewait · 04/09/2020 17:19

@Motherofkittens28 I'm sure the analysis will be fine this time as well. Still feels completely surreal. Didnt think we would ever get here when I set up this thread. You'll all get them 2 lines as well I'm sure.

@Annny27 thanks spotting stopped on Wednesday thankfully. As although i knew it was normal was making me so anxious. Officially past AF due date now so feeling a bit better. Hope your 2WW isn't dragging too much

@notyetamumbuttrying
Any news on the SA? I've not rang midwife yet I'll ring Monday it just hasn't really felt real yet. Really hope this is your month. The period after my year anniversary hit me the hardest its was horrible so i know how you feel. How was your holidah? Xx

notyetamumbuttrying · 04/09/2020 23:14

@Whilstwewait no news yet! They're gonna chase the clinic for us and call Dh on Monday so we shall see. I'm away at my mates house this weekend and they're talking about ttc...I've ran off to the toilet as don't think I face the question coming to me!! I've had a few drinks so not sure I can lie or swerve as easy 😬

Fran2020 · 05/09/2020 14:10

Hey, I hope you are all well? I've taken some time off MN to focus on things. Plus I have now been referred to Gynae (as well as the fertility clinic) because of my ultrasound results.

Thanks everyone for your comments and advice 😊

@Whilstwewait @PlanBea Congratulations!! Amazing to see such positive news in this group! Gives us all hope!! 💜

PlanBea · 05/09/2020 14:21

@notyetamumbuttrying how did you get on with your mates? The questions from friends are well meaning but can be so upsetting! Sometimes a flippant "oh, I like lie ins too much! Have you guys tried that new restaurant/been to this place/whatever?" Is the way forward.

@whilstwewait at my medicine review my go told me the receptionist would set me up with a booking in appointment, then the receptionist told me I need to ring this number, and I've tried calling a few times and left a voicemail and not had any response from them. Getting a bit stressed though it's early as I don't like leaving things up in the air!

kerrym87 · 05/09/2020 20:15

@PlanBea what medication are you on? X

Whilstwewait · 05/09/2020 20:32

@notyetamumbuttrying how was your night? Hope u managed to avoid the questions. One good thing about lockdown was no one asking when i was having a baby

@PlanBea I have the midwife number from a friend I'll ring monday when I'm 5 weeks. Hope you get through on Monday. Still plenty of time. I don't think they do your booking in until about 8 weeks.

@Fran2020 thank you. Hope you're doing ok? Its good that you've been referred. One step closer 🤞

OP posts:
PlanBea · 05/09/2020 21:39

@Whilstwewait I just want it to feel official. It still feels like I'm imagining it. After so long trying I don't believe it still!

@kerrym87 I'm on mefenamic acid and duloxetine for fibromyalgia, well I was but basically now I'm not allowed either - weirdly my opioids are considered safe. I'm pretty sure using NSAIDs long term is what caused our fertility problems as I took myself off the mefenamic 2 months before my BFP

Whilstwewait · 05/09/2020 22:12

@PlanBea that's why I didn't ring last week as it didn't feel real. Sinking in a bit more now I've completely missed a period x

OP posts:
Fran2020 · 05/09/2020 22:58

@Whilstwewait I'm getting there thank you, I had my moments in the last couple of weeks. But it's good that they have referred me and we can move on to the next stage. I have this week off work and me and my partner are going away (in the UK). So I'm looking forward to a change in scenery and some fun time with my partner. How are you feeling? I'm genuinely so happy for you!x

kerrym87 · 06/09/2020 06:11

@PlanBea I think NSAID's can affect implantation so what you said makes sense. There's a website (search bumps) for safe medication in pregnancy and it doesn't say there's any major concerns and just to let your doctor know. The only minor thing with duloxetine is monitoring of baby after birth. Hope that reassures you a bit x

Whilstwewait · 06/09/2020 09:22

@Fran2020 yes its good to have a professional to trust and listen to rather than just your own mind. Have a lovely week away. I think weather is meant to be gorgeous after Tuesday. Cant beat a UK break in the sunshine.

notyetamumbuttrying · 06/09/2020 16:06

@PlanBea I just made everyone more drinks and by the time I came bk the convo had changed, phew! Thing is, I'd already told them we would try for kids after the wedding and we've been married a year now...
@Whilstwewait it was fun thanks! Drank too much tho, I was 5dpo yesterday so if I am pregnant I wouldn't have implanted yet so I'm not gonna make myself feel bad. Hope you get through on Monday!

Annny27 · 07/09/2020 09:19

Morning :) :) 5dpo now and not even got sore boobs like usual!

@notyetamumbuttrying glad you managed to have a good time :D

@Fran2020 going away will be lovely! I might book something next weekend for our anniversary (in the uk) but will be nice to go away even just for one night :D

Motherofkittens28 · 07/09/2020 15:48

Hey everyone, so fiancé's SA is back and the GP says as far as he can tell is looks pretty normal, he then asked if we still wanted to be referred to subfertility! Ive quickly replied with a very enthusiastic yes! Hopefully the wait for an appointment won't be too long.

Whilstwewait · 07/09/2020 19:09

@notyetamumbuttrying glad you managed to avoid the questions. I wouldn't worry about drinking at that stage either. Its a long time TTC. Can't not drink x

@Motherofkittens28 great news. Its so good having a proffesional take over. One step closer to a baby.

@annny27 I wouldn't worry about lack of symptoms yet. I didn't have any until 14 DPO and still don't have any now

@planbea I spoke to a midwife today. My booking in appt will be when I'm between 8-10 weeks. It'll be over the phone but then I'll just go in for bloods and my height and weight. She also said doctors will be in touch about the flu vaccine. Did you get in touch with one?
