TTC 12 months buddies please

Hi,

We have just hit the 12 month mark of TTC and looks like AF is on the way I am on another thread that's really supportive but I do find it disheartening when people get positives on the first couple of cycles of trying. So thought I'd start a thread for anyone around about the year mark. It'll be good to share things and get advice from people who are at a similar stage to me. Im 34 and my husbands 36. We are TTC number 1 x

Luckily at the moment I'm not on NSAIDs (touching lots of wood that I've not just jinxed mysef🤞🤞)

@PlanBea oh same! We conceived in september last year with the pregnancy that we miscarried so I would love my rainbow baby to have to same due date as their would be older sibling! Plus its our wedding anniversary when i am due period/bfp.

@PlanBea yeah it was frer so I'm going to believe it. I'll be on tomorrow without a doubt! I think I'll take next week off MN to try and not think about ttc as much. I'm getting hyper anxious recently and it's affecting my sleep now.

@notyetamumbuttrying aw sorry you think you're out. Enjoy your anniversary. My anniversary month hit me the hardest as well. When you got married with such high expectations and life felt so much simpler its really tough. We will get there though

@PlanBea definitely sounds like coming off the meds is helping you. Hopefully now you're ovulating properly it won't be long

To top off my shit week. Ive got cystitis and I ovulate tomorrow plus a job interview. Haha bloody typical. This month feels like a right off x

@Whilstwewait I'm not sure what I'd least want to do with cystitis, an interview or DTD! hope it all goes well for you. At least interview while ovulating will give you a natural confidence boost! Let us know how you get on

So my spotting has got heavier and heavier throughout the day, definitely going to wake up to heavy bleeding tomorrow. 😔 I've had a cry and a rant to my partner about everything. It just doesn't seem fair. I felt so good this month- felt more relaxed in myself, doing my yoga, acupuncture, eating better and so on. 😭 I even had some different promising signs this month.

@Whilstwewait we definitely are all in this together and definitely due some positives in this group! I hate the lack of control I have over the situation. It's really not fair that it's different in every hospital or doctors surgery. Argh why do people say that?! Good luck for your Amh test🤞🏼

@Whilstwewait yeah it's exactly that! We started trying the following month so the fact that we've spent so much of married life ttc and it's not happened is pretty heart wrenching!
Oh jeez, hope it clears up and you smash the interview! Are you still gonna dtd today?
Thanks @Fran2020 we'll be period twins today then lol! I just always think every symptom is just my period coming. Try changing your mindset to that and it should help with the disappointment.

AF arrived in full force today 😭 I'm ringing the hospital today to see if I can now get my ultrasound booked and will Chase the doctors on our referral to the clinic.

@notyetamumbuttrying hehehe period twins! I know what you mean. I need to think completely differently this month for sure.

@notyetamumbuttrying as they say not out until AF shows. You could have implanted late and that's why negative

@Fran2020 so sorry AF is here. Your scan is a big step though and hopefully gives you peace of mind. Just think of it as a step closer to a baby

My cystitis has gone thank god. I think i may have ovulated yesterday the same day as my peak as i had some right sided pain and my OPK is really light today. Usually i ovulate day after but think acupuncture may have helped the egg along. So dont think i can be bothered DTD tonight but also worried I've tried and failed to ovulate due to stress

Fertility appt tomorrow so im going to use every second of my hour as we are paying for it. I'll fill you all in tomorrow with any tips

So since our apt shock OH has mentioned this evening he'd be open to using a Doner Sperm if IVF isn't going to be an affordable option to us. Was quite shocked but I guess it doesn't matter whose sperm we use as the result would still be very much loved

@Hayley19835 that's an amazing thing for him to do for you and to come to that decision fairly quickly. Perhaps because he has a child he really wants the same for you. Will you do self insemination then? X

@Whilstwewait I know love him, he said he's been thinking about it for a while since we got his first result and they told us it was quite bad. I'm not even sure where to begin with a process like that 🤷‍♀️ x

@Fran2020 Tuesday isnt long at all that's great. They sometimes talk you through it so you'll know there and then I think

@Whilstwewait took another test this morning at 15dpo and stop bfn. I think stress is causing the delay as I've had broken sleep all week. Very annoying as had my day 3's booked today which is now pointless. Can't do them next week as we're away! So gotta wait another month now grr! The first time this whole journey I want my period to show and it doesn't. Typical eh! Good luck at the appointment today, can't wait to hear the tips!

@notyetamumbuttrying did you track ovulation this month? Could be that you ovulated slightly later and still too early for a positive? Everything crossed for you. I know how it feels with the stress. I've felt it the most this month and have been worried i wouldn't ovulate

For those in mid 30's just had my AMH back and it was 37.4. Couldn't be bettter i am so relieved I've been worrying for ages about my age. We are potentially going to have treatment in October. Very mild dose as concerns i could over stimulate. Does make me think why aren't we pregnant yet. Is it just bad luck or potentially blocked tubes. Who knows

The private guy said same as NHS and spotting could be a polyp so may be worth those who spot getting a scan to check

Wow @Hayley19835 that's a big thing to think about. I'm wondering if my partner would consider the same, it's not something I've thought about mentioning to him yet but I had thought about it!

Try your local fertility clinic, I know ours does sperm donations

Think I'm going to either ovulate late this month or not at all. I'm cd12, normally I've had 2-3 days of flashing smileys by now but big fat 0 so far 😢

@Whilstwewait yep I tracked and I did get two different readings as was doing a mix of the advanced digitals and regular digitals so I might have ovulated a day later which means I'm technically not late and AF will be here properly by the end of the day. Defo not too early for a positive test tho as I'd be 14dpo today so I'm not gonna give myself false hopes, I can't do that to my head but thanks for saying.
How do you test your amh? I'm 34 so would love this doing! I need to get a private scan as my hospital aren't doing routine appointments yet. Gonna get one sorted on my return from holiday.

@Hayley19835 my cousin used donor sperm for her two kids (she gave up on finding Mr right and did it all herself) and was able to get both kids with the same donor so they're full siblings. I don't think it's a route I could take but we haven't had a SA yet so I might change my mind when we get results. I hope it works out for you. The info I read about sperm motility suggested it was a similar diet to progesterone-boosting, leafy veg, dark chocolate, avocados, sweet potatoes, eggs, fish etc. It may just be the answer to everything!

@fran2020 glad to hear you're booked! Is it a full bladder ultrasound? Last one I had I had to cut it short to go pee when she pressed too hard haha

@Whilstwewait, thats a really good result, congratulations. Your result prompted me to ask the clinic what mine was when my eggs were frozen 3.5yrs ago. I remember being told it was low for my age, it was 7.9 ! However, for anyone getting a low AMH result, I still got 6 mature eggs for freezing at that level, so hope is not lost. It does make me pretty worried about how low my level could be now. I'm so glad I at least have those eggs sitting in a freezer somewhere.

This is my temp chart today. I've got a dip today, 6dpo. I am definitely imagining it is an implantation dip even though it is super early and I'm just getting my hopes up. I've been quite crampy today and my boobs are starting to get a bit sore so I am almost certainly being optimistic.
