TTC 12 months buddies please

Hi,

We have just hit the 12 month mark of TTC and looks like AF is on the way I am on another thread that's really supportive but I do find it disheartening when people get positives on the first couple of cycles of trying. So thought I'd start a thread for anyone around about the year mark. It'll be good to share things and get advice from people who are at a similar stage to me. Im 34 and my husbands 36. We are TTC number 1 x

@Chel93 that does sound positive and good to hear about the supplements. @PlanBea you obviously have the right idea. I think I might stop trying to find some magic vitamin that doesn’t actually exist and just take simple folic with vitamin d.

@Jilly1988 I was taking Pregnacare for months and started having random spotting mid cycle so this cycle I have stopped taking them and no spotting so far! Just taking Folic Acid and Vit D now

@Jilly1988 I'm taking seven seas as well. I don't think its messed up my cycle. I do get spotting before my period though but i think I did way before I started on them. Im the same with supplements. I worry they'll delay ovulation as when I first came off the pill I ovulated really late. I don't actually even know what's in them so may stop and see if changes anything

@chel93 shame they didnt get to do all the tests today but so positive that you're moving in the right direction. You never know u may not need the next one. I wish mine was a proper appt rather than a telephone one but least its something

Cycle day 9 for me today. Still boring part. Don't normally ovulate till day 18-20 but may start testing early incase acupuncture changes my cycle. I had another session last night. Those that drink grapefruit juice did you notice immediate changes to your CM?

@Jilly1988 Also are you 100% sure you're not pregnant. A few people on other threads have spotting and feel like AF is on way when they get their positive. Just a thought may be worth a test but i know negatives can make people feel worse than AF arriving x

@Whilstwewait I've noticed no change in CM and I've been drinking Grapefruit juice

@Jilly1988 it's so hard to know what to do for the best. I've got a stash of the Superdrug folic acid with vitamin ds in (they were on 3 for 2 and 90 in a bottle...) So I'm not likely to run out and be tempted by all the expensive ones any time soon!

@Whilstwewait was that session 2? I've got my massage booked for Tuesday next week, supposed to ovulate Thursday/Friday so fingers crossed it relaxes me! I can't wait to get rid of a few of these knots in my shoulders!

@Hayley19835 So many people say it works. I'll perservere this cycle but nothing else I've tried has worked that's been suggested

@PlanBea yes 2nd session. Should have had more of a gap really but couldn't go any other night. Next week is right before ovulation so hopefully it'll help. Massage sounds lovely. Will definitely help you relax. I

@PlanBea oh I really do hope so feel like I'll be symptom spotting everything now for the next week 😂, yeah thats all I've been taking the past 6 weeks vitamin D and folic acid, so hopefully it will work well for you too 🤞🤞 I feeling a lot more positive knowing if this isn't my month then at least the balls rolling again for everything else,

@Hayley19835 I've took pregnacare in the past and spotted for the whole month the fertility doctor told me theres a vitamin in it thats too high which causes spotting and to mess up cycles,
@Whilstwewait Have you seen them before or is it your first appointment? My first appointment was just all talking so maybe why its only a phone appointment, yeah id maybe try coming off them and try vitamin D, ino im so happy everything is moving forward now 🤞🤞

@Chel93 you're welcome! I'm hoping the same for me too, although I always do! How do you stop yourself from thinking that you're pregnant and then having the crushing realisation that you're not when u take a test or AF comes? It's getting so draining now! 😒

@notyetamumbuttrying yes I always too do I new i was last month because I had really bad heart burn which i never get and it went as soon as I started bleeding, its really so hard isnt it im the same every month you get your hopes up a little bit more then AF comes, i keep thinking to myself ill try and not think about it but I'm counting down the days till Monday I keep checking my boobs for veins or anything different but nothing just got that feeling ill come on before Monday

@Chel93 it's so shit isn't it! I'm all out of ideas on how to chill the fuck out 😂 I think we might take a break after month 12 comes and goes. It's the only thing left I can think of now. I need it to not be on mind every day.

@Chel93 how many dpo are.you? I am 10dpo and no symptoms apart from bigger boobs but that's very normal for me.

Anyone else in tww and no symptoms? Haga

@notyetamumbuttrying im the same haha 😂 its so hard to just wait and see what happens isnt it, yeah have a relaxing month i tried to do that this month but found it hard to get it out my head 😂😩
@Annny27 im not really sure id say about 9 I starting doing opks at the start of the month and then stopped because I just wanted a month break after last month but last Sunday and Monday I felt tugging pains on the right side and had a feel so I done a test on the Monday and it was peak ovulation, I was due on on saturday-sunday but nothing yet and with late ovulation probably wont be till next week, are you are you symptom spotting like crazy? When will you test?

@chel93 I'm the same forever checking my boobs in the 2WW. I never get any symptoms though so i always think im out. Although friends of mine had no symptoms when they got pregnant.

@Annny27 most of my friends say they had no symptoms. I think mumsnet makes people crazy symptom spotting and symptoms people do feel are probably just a coincidence so I wouldn't worry

@notyetamumbuttrying I think when its something you want so much its impossible to relax and not try unless you're a lot younger and have the time for the trying not trying way a lot of people tend to do. If you know when you ovulate its impossible to not think about it

Had to take my own blood today for the AMH test before my appointment next week. Gosh I felt sick. I think because it's so hot as blood never usually bothers me. Thought i was going to faint. Couldn't get much out my first finger so had to do it twice. The things we do for a baby. Im hoping we don't have to go down the injections route.

Nervous about my results. Even though a lot of people say they don't mean much having a good result will really give me peace of mind. Im glad the consultant will be telling us rather than it just being an at home test as I'm sure they'll offer reassurance x

@Chel93 someone else I know also said the same about it being high in something. The spotting hasn't occurred this cycle could of been coincidence but I'm assuming it was the Pregnacare causing it and they say these things are there to assist 🤔

So after my period being delayed and spotting I decided to take a test and got a BFP this morning. Then this evening I started getting AF cramps and bleeding so it seems I am going through a chemical pregnancy. I am completely devastated. TTC journey is just so unfair. Over a year and the first time something happens any hope is destroyed very quickly.

@jilly1998 so sorry lovely! Although some people get bleeding and cramps and are still pregnant. Holding in every hope 🤞🤞🤞

@Whilstwewait thats promissing that people had no symptoms! On the pregnancy that I miscarried I was quite tired at 10dpo and a bit run down 11dpo but nothing major and could have just been coincidence haha! Fingers crossed your blood results come back okay! It is nerve wracking is it. I havent had AMH test but would also be nervous!

@Chel93 I will be testing Saturday or Sunday. I am raking progesterone so need to stop taking it if I don't get a bfp so that my period can arrive. What about you?

@Jilly1988 aw so sorry to hear that. It must be devestating. Check again tomorrow though it could be implantation bleeding. My friend bled the first few weeks of her pregnancy

@Annny27 my friend had loads of symptoms with her two chemicals. The time she got pregnant and had her daughter she had no symptoms. Crazy how our bodies work. Yes its a scary test. I don't think tbe results matter for a natural conception as you only need 1 egg to conceive but for IVf its a good indicator of how many you get. Will find out next fri x

@Whilstwewait yes I am to ive been doing it all day today checking my boobs and nipple feel like I'm going crazy haha 🤣 I just had sore boobs and hear burn last month, fingers crossed your results come back good 🤞,
@Annny27 yes it could of been then have you stopped taking them now or are you still taking them? I'm going to try and hold out till Monday and if its positive I'll be straight on the phone 🤣
@Jilly1988 so sorry to hear that its heart breaking isnt it, hopefully its just spotting I bled the whole way through DS and hes a happy healthy 5 year old, hope your doing OK

It’s definitely a chemical pregnancy. I woke up and AF has arrived in full flow this morning. This is the first time I have ever had a positive in 14 months. It really is so hard

@Jilly1988 so sorry to hear that rest and take it easy its so heart breaking isnt it i was the same last month 19 months of trying got my BFP within 2days I was bleeding, but just try and stay positive and think at least you know you can get pregnant so hopefully next month is your month i really hope it is for you 🤞
Last night I went the loo when I wiped there was few drops of bright red blood, nothing since got a feeling af is coming cuz that normally happens and then she'll hit me tonight or tomorrow 😩

Thanks @Chel93 it really is heartbreaking. Started the day feeing like it was the best day ever and ended it feeling devastated. Did you contact your dr about it? Did your cycle go back to normal after?

@Jilly1988 it really is i hope your ok, I did ye my dr told me to ring the epu clinic and they booked me in the same day for a scan and bloods to make sure it wasn't ectopic and to confirm it was a chemical, i bled for 7 days my AF ws due saturday-sunday just gone so I'm late but I didnt ovulate until last Monday so AF is due anytime really unless I am pregnant, but I had a bit of spotting n cramps last night so expecting it come any time now

@Jilly1988 I'm so sorry. It hasnt happened to me but I can imagine how devestating it is after trying for so long. I can't believe how many people it happens to its so scary. Puts me off testing so much x
