Hi,

We have just hit the 12 month mark of TTC and looks like AF is on the way Sad I am on another thread that's really supportive but I do find it disheartening when people get positives on the first couple of cycles of trying. So thought I'd start a thread for anyone around about the year mark. It'll be good to share things and get advice from people who are at a similar stage to me. Im 34 and my husbands 36. We are TTC number 1 x

@Chel93 I'm just using the advanced ones, first time using them and found them really straight forward x

PlanBea · 09/08/2020 18:45

@Motherofkittens28 I totally get what you're feeling. It's so hard hearing someone else's news when you're waiting for it to be yours.

I'm on 6dpo now. Feeling a bit low this weekend but having a quiet one. Just feels like life is just ticking along at the moment, a bit blah. I think it's mostly being in the house all the time, each month is just a repeat of the last recently.

Motherofkittens28 · 09/08/2020 19:16

@PlanBea I totally get that. Its hard not to overly focus on ttc when there is very little else going on and to look forward to. I'm sure if I had holidays coming up and nights out with the girls I would be able to distract myself

claireb707 · 10/08/2020 09:36

I'm out 😢

Absolutely devastated, can't stop crying, I really thought this was our month

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/08/2020 09:51

Ahh I'm so sorry to hear that @claireb707 please look after yourself today. Eat all the yummy food and drink all the wine!

Hayley19835 · 10/08/2020 13:01

@claireb707 so sorry to hear that lovely! Sending you all the love! Look after yourself take it easy and eat all the bad food xx

Motherofkittens28 · 10/08/2020 14:34

@claireb707 so sorry to hear that ☹. Its all just so unfair, take the time to look after yourself, some months just seem to hit worse than others

PlanBea · 10/08/2020 17:04

@claireb707 I'd just been wondering this morning when you were going to test. Sorry to hear you're out. Take care of yourself, take some time to wallow in how unfair TTC is before focusing on the new cycle. We're all here for you

Chel93 · 10/08/2020 17:48

@claireb707 sorry to hear she arrived take care of yourself
I still havent had AF due Sunday well I normally start spotting Saturday and then comes Sunday but nothing, I only ovulated Monday so I'm a bit confused would if I will be late this month because of that?

Whilstwewait · 10/08/2020 18:22

@claireb707 aw I'm so sorry. I remember crying for about 3 days when AF arrived on cycle 12. Its so shit when AF arrives and more so when you think it's your month. Just try and remember the feeling is just temporary. In a few days you will feel better and positive again but allow yourself time to get there. One day it'll happen for all of us. X

It's amazing how much better I feel after a day off and a good night's sleep.

I'd been surviving on 5-6 hours a night for a few weeks and I think my period arriving yesterday just tipped me over the edge. I spent most of the day in tears but went for a walk with partner last night and took a sleeping tablet to ensure I slept and I slept from 10 through till 6.30 so must have been tired. Had a shower this morning and feel so much better. We've also extended our camping trip at the end of the month so I now have 11 days of work around the bank holiday.

notyetamumbuttrying · 11/08/2020 11:05

Glad you feel better @claireb707 😊

PlanBea · 11/08/2020 12:15

Glad to hear you're taking care of yourself @claireb707. Your trip sounds like something nice to look forward to!

There's nothing to report here. CD8 today. DH is stressed with work and stag planning, so I don't think we'll be trying SMEP again this month as it was quite stressful last month. I'm super tired this week too (slept 10 hours a night at the weekend 😱), hoping I get more energy by fertile week.

Jilly1988 · 11/08/2020 13:20

Hey everyone. I introduced myself here a while ago but haven’t been about for a while. Just got so fed up with TTC. I’m on cycle 13 now.

Has anyone tried seven seas trying for a baby supplements? I am on CD28 and always have a 26 day cycle. I started seven seas one month ago and I have had brown spotting from Saturday and from reading the negative reviews it could be down to them that I’m spotting and my period is delayed which is very frustrating. My cycle seems to be so sensitive to supplements. This TTC is very tiring.

PlanBea · 11/08/2020 13:50

@Jilly1988 hi Jilly, I hear people do say the pre conception supplements suddenly extend their periods. Do you know if it's your luteal phase that's lengthened? Do you track your cycle at all?

Jilly1988 · 11/08/2020 13:57

Hi @PlanBea Yes it’s my luteal phase that’s extended. Yes I use OPK’s, I usually have a 12 day luteal phase every month and now I am on 14. Think I may stop taking them as this is very frustrating. I know I’m not pregnant as I have the spotting and I can feel it’s on it’s way. Spend all month hoping it doesn’t arrive and then when you know it will you just want it to start. Do you take any supplements?

PlanBea · 11/08/2020 14:01

@Jilly1988 I just take a folic acid with vitamin d, as I have regular blood tests so know I'm deficient in vitamin d but not deficient in anything else that gets tested. DH takes a vitamin d but nothing else. 14 day luteal is a great length, 12 is a little on the short side (it's still fine though) so maybe see if AF arrives in the next couple of days before deciding. My cycles are usually 31-33 days, so it always seems so long between fertile weeks, I can see the benefits of a shorter cycle!

Motherofkittens28 · 11/08/2020 14:21

@jilly1988 I take the seven seas one and haven't noticed any specific issues, mind you I get spotting several days before my period anyway. I had very irregular cycles when I took the well woman ones. I think its to do with you getting an excess of some of the vitamins included

Chel93 · 11/08/2020 14:26

I took pregnacare and spotted the whole month of taking them the fertility doctor told me it was something to do with a vitamin in them was too high which causes spotting and abnormal cycles, im currently sat waiting to see the fertility doctor not sure what to even expect and what's next

PlanBea · 11/08/2020 14:35

@Chel93 good luck with your appointment! Let us know how it goes

notyetamumbuttrying · 11/08/2020 14:50

@Chel93 good luck! Let us know how it goes and feel free to share any pearls of wisdom too!

Chel93 · 11/08/2020 15:05

@PlanBea @notyetamumbuttryin
Thank you very much, im still waiting but I'll share and tell everything of course 👏👏

Chel93 · 11/08/2020 15:55

Not much really to report couldn't do nothing because I haven't had my period and I'm 3 days late, she said last month was a chemical, today she was going to do n ultrasound swabs and book me in for a hycosy but due to my period being late she didnt want to do anything incase of pregnancy, because I only ovulated last Monday she said a pregnancy test wouldn't be positive until next Monday, so to test on Monday and if its positive get booked in the same day for a scan and she will scan me, but if negative im back in 2 months for everything else then when all results are back we'll start looking at treatment, feeling pretty hopeful now, I asked about vitamins and things and she said she doesnt recommend anything other than vitamin D and Folic acid, praying i get a positive on Monday 🤞🤞

notyetamumbuttrying · 11/08/2020 16:50

@Chel93 best of luck to you! We'll have everything crossed!

PlanBea · 11/08/2020 17:27

@Chel93 that all sounds positive and reassuring! Hopefully you're contacting them on Monday to book an appointment...! Also good for me to hear she recommends just folic acid/vitamin d, I've heard it from other medical professionals but it's good to hear it from fertility experts too. Are you feeling positive about it all now?
