TTC 12 months buddies please

Hi,

We have just hit the 12 month mark of TTC and looks like AF is on the way I am on another thread that's really supportive but I do find it disheartening when people get positives on the first couple of cycles of trying. So thought I'd start a thread for anyone around about the year mark. It'll be good to share things and get advice from people who are at a similar stage to me. Im 34 and my husbands 36. We are TTC number 1 x

I am 3dpo today and just started my progesteron suppositories and have already noticed my boobs feeling heavier - it's going to be a rough two weeks haha

Anyone else at the start of the tww?

@Annny27 I'll be in it on Friday as got my peak today! Hope your pain eases up.

@Annny27 let us know how you get on with them. I think one of my issues is low progesterone so I'm half expecting fertility clinic will be putting me on them too

Really hoping it is a one day dip, am 10dpo today, period due Sunday I think. I've had cramping today, boobs still sore and also been going hot and dizzy today. Just had to come and sit outside for 5 mins to cool down

@claireb707 that's what i hate about temping a slight dip and you get down thinking AF is coming. As long as its above coverline though its ok. You're not out yet.

@Annny27 be interesting to hear the difference progesterone makes to your 2WW. Hope it helps with a positive

A different fertility clinic emailed me back about my enquiry for an appointment on Monday , asking when i was available. Not heard anything since which is annoying. Cycle day 3 here so nothing happening. Im trying acupuncture tomorrow I'll let you all know how it is and im walking daily and drinking grapefruit juice which tastes like sick. What we do for a baby eh

Hey everyone! How are you all?
I'm CD13 and have just had my two peaks on my CBFM. So I am going to count myself as 1 DPO tomorrow.
I got my letter from the hospital yesterday about my ultrasound. I need to call them on CD1 to arrange the scan to be on CD5-9. So glad to have heard from them!
Nothing about my referral to the fertility clinic yet though, hope I get that soon too.
Feeling positive and actually pretty chilled! 😊

@Whilstwewait try the pink grapefruit Tropicana brand, it's the most palatable one I find!
I should ov tomorrow so just dtd and lying still for a bit 😂 first thing I do is log it in my app and come on MN, what have I become 🤪

@notyetamumbuttrying after sex used to be for cuddles, now its for preventing leakage, updating my app and planning our next dtd meeting 🤣🤣🤣

@Whilstwewait I will let you know how i get on with it :) omg I tried grapefruit juice and I am actually convinced it is only produced for ttc girls because who in their right mind would voluntarily drink that?? 🤣🤣

Haha I agree re the grapefruit juice, although my dad loves the stuff, but he is 72 😂

@Fran2020 that's so quick for your scan. Im still waiting from March and only have a telephone appointment. In my area its gynaecology that then refer you to fertility if anything comes up on your scan. Yours may be the same

@notyetamumbuttrying its the tropicana one im trying. I just down the pint. It's only when i stop that it tastes like sick in my throat and it has bits in even worse.

@Annny27 its vile stuff. Ive tried everything for CM apart from this so feel I have to at least try it for one month x

Had indigestion last night and struggled to get comfy from sore boobs. Am a little hopeful but don't want to get hopes up too much in case it's pms

I've been on the grapefruit juice too oh my it's yuck! The things we do!

I feel like I'm the only person who hasn't succumbed to the grapefruit juice yet 😂 has anyone tried putting some vodka in it...?

@claireb707 fingers crossed! It's so frustrating that everything takes days/weeks to know if it's been successful or not. Even if we could only get pregnant a few days a month, it would be so much easier if when your fertile window ended you got a text saying "pregnant" or "not pregnant" 😂 all this waiting is the killer!

@Fran2020 I'm glad you're making progress!

DH is best man for a wedding hopefully happening this year, and they've decided to move the stag do into September rather than October so they can go camping and stay a bit more apart/covid compliant. Checking my calendar he's going to be away on my predicted ovulation weekend now, so realistically it's this month for me or not until October 🤦‍♀️

Just make sure you dtd before he goes and hope his swimmers are strong as it could still hit the egg if you're 5 or less days away from ov @PlanBea

So ov day for me today and dtd last night and day before. Tried this morning but Dh had a call at 830 so decided we didn't wanna rush it, wish we had tho as his call didn't happen! We're off work tomorrow and I don't want him saying let's just wait until then but I also don't wanna say I'm ov'ing today as last time it gave him performance anxiety. I might have to tho if he won't succumb to my advances! I even have a short skirt on today and keep prancing around 😂 ttc is such bullshit I swear!

@Annny27 it's all about preventing leakages! 😂

@Whilstwewait I know I am very surprised at how quickly I got the letter and that should mean they will do the scan a few days later. It's crazy how different it is everywhere. The doctor did say I should get a letter from the surgery with the website and phone number of the fertility clinic to book my own appointment online/ by phone. So we shall see!

@PlanBea thank you! I've not succumbed to grapefruit juice yet either!! 😂

Haha we've all been there @notyetamumbuttrying, trying to seduce in a way that makes them think it's their idea so they don't realise it's because of ovulation 😂 if we do get to September we'll just try our best but maybe a more relaxed month won't be a bad thing

@Fran2020 if we start seeing some more BFPs on here I might be tempted. It will take some double lines to get me drinking it though!

@PlanBea yeah it's so true! Like subliminal messaging 😂 relaxed is defo prob the best way so when you're forced to, it'll be even better as you have no choice in it.

@PlanBea, its ridiculous how these trips etc always seem to come at the wrong time. My OH is going away on Friday and that's the day my fertile window starts, granted he'll be back for a few days of it and technically we aren't "actually" trying this month but still annoying. Fingers crossed August is your month!

The grapefruit juice wasnt as hideous today so maybe I'm becoming immune I did heave taking my vitamins after though and spat water everywhere

@Fran2020 that's fab news. I bet you're so pleased. In our area gynaecology only refer you to the clinic if there's a problem. If not they make you wait two years

@notyetamumbuttrying day before is best apparently but i really think we both give up too early. We are normally fed up because it takes my DH ages with performance anxiety. So end up stopping day of our positive x

I now have a fertility appointment on the 22nd and they can start my treatment the next cycle which is exciting and scary at the same time. I imagine it'll be October though as AF usually arrives start of the month so sept could be a rush

Also had acupuncture tonight. I enjoyed it. The lady was lovely. Said it how it is. She basically said with my spotting i won't get pregnant. She was funny. She said she'll sort my periods out and could see differences straight away. Im going next weke if anything i felt i was doing something and came away relaxed xx

@Whilstwewait so glad to hear you have a fertility appointment have you gone private or NHS? Hopefully it all starts soon as for you, think that might be the next thing I try acupuncture, at least you feel nice and relaxed youll probably feel a lot more at ease too knowing you'll be starting treatment within the next month or two

@Whilstwewait I've got massage booked for the 18th as due to ovulate 19th/20th. If I have no luck this cycle I think I'll look into acupuncture next month. Needles won't go in the amount of knots I have at the moment! 😂 Where were they mostly put in? Was it your feet/back?

@Whilstwewait well we did it yesterday but don't think today's gonna happen as he's gone out now 😒 I'll just wait and see as always then! Ooh that is and exciting and scary in same measure, hope it all goes well! What sort of acupuncture did you have? Glad it's going well! Sounds promising 😊

@Chel93 it's private. I tried a different clinic. The other one i won't get an appointment at till Sept then 3 months for treatment. Im praying we don't get a 2nd lockdown. I have my gynaecology NHs appt a few days before as well so its all go. How you getting on?

@PlanBea @notyetamumbuttrying for some daft reason I thought acupuncture was always in your back but its not haha. They were mainly in my stomach/ pelvic area. Then one in each leg and one in each ear. Then there's a lamp which makes your belly really warm and she attached me to some machine that made my stomach vibrate slightly. It wasn't painful at all. The theory behind it completely made sense as well. Basically when you get a cut on your arm for example our brain sends signals for it to heal. So with acupuncture they stimulate your womb area to make your brain send signals for it to heal. So will help hormones regulate. The aim is to get periods that last 5 days max and all red blood. As that's how they use to know 100 years ago that woman where fertile. I may just be a sucker for a story but I've read lots of success stories x

@Whilstwewait ah thanks for letting me know. I'm a bit squeamish of needles and knowing what I'd be signing up for so I can picture it does help. My period was barely 48 hours, my spotting was longer than that! It makes sense the theory of it so sounds like something to try. Is there a point in your cycle when it's best to start treatment?

@PlanBea I didn't see or feel the needles. They are really thin apparently so don't hurt. It was just like a tiny tap on my stomach when it went in. I don't think it makes much difference when you start. I think they may vary where they put the needle though depending on cycle day. Im cycle day 4 today but day 7 of spotting. I explained I can go like 10 hours with nothing and then get brown spotting again. The aim is to stop that. She was hoping it would stop or go red after the session and i have had a bit of red when wiping no brown. So that's something. I do feel like somethings happened there. My stomach feels a bit tender. Could all be in my head though. Im hoping i notice a difference at ovulation x
