TTC 12 months buddies please

Hi,

We have just hit the 12 month mark of TTC and looks like AF is on the way I am on another thread that's really supportive but I do find it disheartening when people get positives on the first couple of cycles of trying. So thought I'd start a thread for anyone around about the year mark. It'll be good to share things and get advice from people who are at a similar stage to me. Im 34 and my husbands 36. We are TTC number 1 x

@Whilstwewait its not the smiley face one its the advanced one but I cant put it in the machine as can only test between 6-10am so will do a test in the morning see what it says, could possibly be late ovulation due to last month
How you feeling with first day of AF? I'm the same i dont have much cm I think im going to try evening primrose oil next month from day one until ovulation see if that helps

@Chel93 how sure are you you ovulated earlier? My thought is it picked up a first LH surge but you didn't then ovulate and this is a second surge. You can get a few surges before ovulation, completely normal and nothing to worry about!

@claireb707 fingers crossed. It sounds different from your usual cycle so hopefully there's something worth going through the pain for!

@Whilstwewait no, I have had red this evening (well after 5pm) so CD1 tomorrow for me unless I've scared AF away are you trying anything new this month? I'm hoping to get a massage booked and will try and time it for near ovulation I think, just in case!

@PlanBea im not sure i just kept getting highs but no peak so this could be my peak now and just a late ovulation because of last month

AF has arrived this morning.... I'm devastated. How do you deal with the disappointment every time? Going in to cycle #19

@whilstwewait I was pretty lucky to get a provate consultation fairly quickly- like 2 weeks after i enquired. Obviously had to pay for the privilege because nhs won't refer me untill November. So told the consultant about my spotting and previous miscarriage and he suggested this as some luteal phase support. Seems crazy that you have to wait long for a private appointment!

Sorry to hear AF arrived @Anitaatje33 I'm the same some cycles are easier and others aren't I've lost count of my cycles now but we are nearly at the 3 year mark.

AF has finished for me so I've started using CB opks this cycle first time of using them as always used cheapies and haven't used them in over a year. Got a solid circle this morning but don't know what I was expecting really. Only have a 24 day cycle so will see what happens over the next few days xx

@Whilstwewait @PlanBea, im doing ok, as we aren't actively tryjng this cycle im trying to just focus on my health and trying to lose weight (I've been dieting for the past 3 months but ive only lost a stone so far), hopefully losing weight will help my fertility long term.

Officially CD1 today for me. Not so upset as I was before as I've had days to get used to it. Maybe month 20 will be the one.

@Motherofkittens28 it can't hurt, I've definitely found some more weight over lockdown with practicing my baking and not doing any walking about or anything. Maybe a chilled month will be the one.

@Hayley19835 good luck this cycle! Hope the CB are worth it!

@anitaatje33 there's definitely harder months than others, but take some time to feel sad. This month was hard for me as I had convinced myself it was going to be the one. There isn't a magic cure for it unfortunately, but if I find one I'll let you know!

Thank you @Motherofkittens28. All we can do is keep trying. It's actually better now than in a week as DH's SA is 5 days after my predicted ovulation date and he has to abstain for 48 hours beforehand. Could you imagine if the appointment fell on fertile week?

@PlanBea, my fiancés first SA was on ovulation day! We asked if we could move it but they were only doing it once a month and the next month was, you guessed it, on ovulation day again! We just had to make sure we dtd exactly 48hrs before his appointment and as soon as we got home! Definitely not ideal.

I tested today im at my peak today so late ovulation for me,

@Motherofkittens28 oh no! Typical, isn't it! The stress is bad enough he has to produce the sample at home and get it to the clinic within an hour, arriving at 9am on a weekday in the middle of town. They don't do the collections on site any more. And we need to keep the sample "body temperature". I can see so many areas for error!

@PlanBea mines having to do the same soon but on the tube!! 🙈I feel so sorry for him! He's not made the appointment yet so god knows when he has to do it.

Partner has SA on Friday, we had fun getting it there 😂

Now got cramps 😢😩 am 9dpo

I thought CB's were worth a shot with OH dreadful sperm count timing can't be a bad thing either to try as I'm sure we are actually off as I'm not tracking anything.

The dreaded SA collection and delivery I remember the day and journey so well!

Had SA last Friday not has it this Friday 😂
