TTC 12 months buddies please

Hi,

We have just hit the 12 month mark of TTC and looks like AF is on the way I am on another thread that's really supportive but I do find it disheartening when people get positives on the first couple of cycles of trying. So thought I'd start a thread for anyone around about the year mark. It'll be good to share things and get advice from people who are at a similar stage to me. Im 34 and my husbands 36. We are TTC number 1 x

@PlanBea thank you for checking, less worried now about my high temp during period. Attach my previous cycle, where I did have a clear dip & rise but again high temp during period. Might actually buy a new thermometer just in case :) thanks all for the great support, will update you after my consult tomorrow where we hopefully get some answers

@Whilstwewait I don't think I will test, im fully expecting AF to rock up tomorrow, its just playing tricks on me!

@Anitaatje33 oh I'm glad I could help. That chart actually looks loads better! The dip usually happens the day before/of ovulation. The dip 3 days later looks like an outlier which are ok. The focus is really on the trend of the numbers rather than individual figures. The luteal phase is a bit short so I'd focus on boosting progesterone and extending the luteal phase a bit but it's not actually as scary as the first chart looked once you can see the full cycle. It might explain why the progesterone is still hanging around during AF.

@Whilstwewait I'm glad I'm not the only one whose having a month where I just want to keep testing! Usually I'm pretty chill about it but this month I'm just a but crazy

@Motherofkittens28 aw sorry to hear about AF. Im expecting her in the next couple of days. Ive started with what i like to call my brown sludge today. So i know she will follow shortly. Its annoying as i know im not pregnant but not quite on a new cycle yet. How you feeling? As the months go on i think im used to the disappointmemt now. I just really hope we get to have our own baby one day x

Thanks @notyetamumbuttrying, @Fran2020, @PlanBea and @Chel93. I'm doing ok, I think I had my big reaction when I got the BFN on Sunday, somehow its better to see AF than only one flipping line! Hope the rest of you who are near the end of your cycle have better luck!

@Whilstwewait, im almost feeling resigned to it now, its when I think about it never happening at all that I get a bit panicky. I'm sorry to hear she seems to be on her way for you, its so very frustrating 😕 I do wonder if I hadn't been ovulating until that cycle, it certainly felt very different and I had ov confirmed for it. Maybe the grapefruit juice actually did something! Xx

@Motherofkittens28 yes I know what you mean. I kmow my husbands sperm is perfect so he will get his own child i oanic about my eggs. I can't wait to get my AMH test and just start treatment now. Fed up of waiting. Im waiting to hear back from the private clinic about my appointment now.

I thought grapefruit juice just helped cervical fluid? That's one issue i think may be affecting my chances that and the spotting. Maube try tempting so u can get confirmation that you're ovulating every month? Im meant to be cutting down on alcohol but sod it im going to have a few this weekend to drown my sorrows x

Glad you feel ok @Motherofkittens28! Grapefruit juice is for cervical mucus, meant to increase the egg white, it does for me! Cd6 over here so still got a bit of spotting but will start dtd from tomorrow, as long as we haven't melted into the bed overnight 😂

@notyetamumbuttrying I definitely need to try the grapefruit but last time i found it disgusting. Any recommendations of how much and how I can drink it without spewing? ive just had a cry after ringing up the private fertility clinic it'll be September now for an appointment. need to remember the positives least my gynaecology one is booked and gives us more chance for a natural pregnancy. You're getting to the exciting part of your cycle now then. Good luck I dont think the hot weather is lasting long x

@Whilstwewait the pink one over the golden one and go for Tropicana. Drink about 3/4 of a pint glass a day.

Yeah thank god it's gonna cool down over the weekend. We've got our fan out oscillating around the flat!

@notyetamumbuttrying I'll give it a go. Ive tried everything else and nothing changed. Only to ovulation then? I'll add some to my shop. My wine is chilled and delicious. Enjoy your weekend everyone x

@Whilstwewait its a good source of vitamin c as well which apparently boosts progesterone. Anything is worth a try! I had the waitrose pink grapefruit and although i wouldn't say I enjoyed it it really wasn't that bad

I've got some grapefruit juice to try this cycle even though I hate grapefruit 🤢 and I've stocked up on CB ovulation tests for this cycle to check I'm actually ovulating when I think I am. I wonder if our timing is all off 🤷‍♀️ oh said I was a mad woman and told me stop but he's supporting me this cycle. Feel like We need a fresh start and a reboot this cycle after the witch smashed my hopes by being late.

@Hayley19835 I've been enjoying sgroppinos (or is that sgroppini?) thanks to another BFN and cramps to suggest AF is on her evil way. Vodka, lemon sorbet, and prosecco. It's been quite nice sitting drinking with DH for no reason in the garden. I thoroughly recommend it x

@Whilstwewait September for private! That's insane. Are you going via the GP too in case the NHS is somehow quicker? I've spent this evening drinking prosecco cocktails with DH and feel much more relaxed about AFs impending arrival. Tomorrow I may regret it it just feels like it will never happen. I know in my logical brain it might, but gut brain is just more "well, of course AF is coming."

@PlanBea sounds perfect! I'm on AL now for 10 days so a few Gins will be had for sure! It's far too humid even at this time of night 🥵 xx

@PlanBea i know mad isn't it and then 10-12 weeks for treatment. Although they said August for an appointment initially. So treatment estimate may end up being even longer than they 12 weeks. So probably Dec/January. Im trying another clinic. I doubt it'll happen naturally for me.

I have my NHS gynaecology phone appointment on aug 18th though so hopefully know more about when i can have the hysocy. Hoping that will make me super fertile and increase my chances. They then refer to same clinic I've approached about private so won't be any quicker.
