TTC 12 months buddies please

Hi,

We have just hit the 12 month mark of TTC and looks like AF is on the way I am on another thread that's really supportive but I do find it disheartening when people get positives on the first couple of cycles of trying. So thought I'd start a thread for anyone around about the year mark. It'll be good to share things and get advice from people who are at a similar stage to me. Im 34 and my husbands 36. We are TTC number 1 x

@notyetamumbuttrying yeah, to check progesterone which indicates ovulation and also to check my general health (iron/vitamin d/thyroid). It's my third one so I'm not expecting any surprises!

@Motherofkittens28 grapefruit juice, you must be dedicated! I can't stand the stuff. I'm having enough 'fun' eating lots of fish (I don't really like fish) and cashews (turns out they're less tasty not covered in salt...). It would be a lovely anniversary surprise today! Fingers crossed!

Grapefruit juice does indeed help with the egg white cm! The pink one is nicer than golden imo.

@notyetamumbuttrying I hope the next two weeks fly by for you. I'm still on CD12 so hoping for O in the next few days. We're going back to our wedding venue on Friday (CD14) for afternoon tea so that would be a good day to make a baby!

@Motherofkittens28 happy anniversary hope you have a lovely day. I tried grapefruit juice for cervical mucus but i was heaving. I find it disgusting. Ive tried evening primrose oil and cough medicine and neither made a difference. Im hoping mine is just all up there were it counts but definitely asking my consultant when i finally get an appointment as I don't get much. Im meant to be in fertile week and i know for sperm to last 5 days they need pretty much perfect conditions and i don't have any currently.

@claireb707 Im hoping coq10 doesnt delay my cycle. Im torn i want to make sure my eggs are good quality incase we do IVf but dont want to ovulate late cos i hate waiting so hard x

Just started looking through this thread as I felt it was more relevant to me (and I too am feeling disheartened by all the BFPs in cycles 1-4 on the other page!).
Good to see you both here!

I have started OPKs again this cycle after a break (was driving myself crazy!) and got a very feint line this morning which means things are on track, as they seem to have been, every cycle, for the past year!
I did also do a cheapy pregnancy test as I had a strange, short and light period last cycle after more than a week of very heavy and painful breasts. I also had pain under my rib cage for a few days which I was hopeful was some sort of pregnancy sign and I just assumed I was out due to AF’s arrival...maybe it was gallbladder now that I’ve thought about it more?!
It was extreme wishful thinking as, obviously I got BFN!

This is really starting to mess with my head!
We are cycle 14, TTC #1 and now I have strong suspicions that my Hub’s undescended testicle as a child could really be holding us back!
I will be pestering him to call clinic tomorrow to rearrange cancelled SA so we can get the ball(s!) rolling again!

Best wishes to all of you here, it’s been a far harder journey than I’d ever have imagined...not helped that my best friend is a few weeks pregnant with her 2nd! 😊

@Whilstwewait i got the pressed because I was worried about the fertile mucus, these days I don't seem to have any and i was worrying that the little swimmers wouldn't stand a chance! What's the coq10 for? We are kind of resigned to needing ivf at some point and have started saving to do a round March time, if that would help egg quality maybe I should look into it a few months before? We picked March as it gives us time to save and if it works ill only be 4 months pregnant for our wedding, which seems ideal (not too fat but hopefully past the morning sickness). Of course chances are slim with ivf at my age so I need to not get my hopes up!

I'd like to join you ladies if you don't mind I'm now on official month 12 with not a whiff of a bfp. Had all tests done and everything is fine, went private to get my tubes checked last week and that's all come back clear, oh sperm clear bloods clear etc. So just a waiting game really? Which is great obviously but I can't help but feel like what if we need ivf at some point in the future. I'm 28 just turned and my partner is turning 32, I have a nearly 9 year old son from a previous relationship I had him at 19. Life's a funny old thing, things seem to happen quickly for you when you aren't in the best situation but then when you are it doesn't want to happen!

I'm on some other threads but I'd really like to just communicate with ladies that have been ruing for a while...

@Motherofkittens28 @whilstwewait hey! When I take evening primrose oil it only works when I take 4000 mg a day, if you don't drink a lot of water try and drink some more too. Take primrose oil up to ovulation you may know this already but yeah 4000 mg instead of 1000mg worked really well for me! 4 big tablets a day 😂

@EmeraldLily18 aw sorry its taking you a while as well. Its so shit. I never expected it to be so difficult. Id definitely say get the sperm analysis booked back in for peace of mind at least. It could be nothing wrong but worth knowing if there is and having a plan. I have been tempted to stop OPK but think it'll make me worse as would be having to DTD every 2-3 days incase we missed it. Least OPK i know when i can give up and have a rest. Mines still stark white but that's normal for me doesnt really change till day before my peak. So hopefully ill ovulate in next few days.

@Motherofkittens28 I believe its for egg quality. It was recommended to Luissa zissman, who was on the apprentice, by an American fertility consultant. She wrote a blog about it. That and vital DHA. As i say though may delay ovulation a bit but im thinking may be good if we do have IVF. I've tried preseed as well. Literally everything. March does seem good timing for your wedding if it doesnt happen before then. Fingers crossed it doesn't come to that. We are looking at maybe October/November for treatment. Seems a lot of people are going private so a bit of a wait. Im going to chase again in August if no positive by then.

@Missgoldilocks welcome. Im the same as you all bloods clear so far, sperm analysis fine. I haven't had hsg got referred in March and now looking like November as they still aren't doing them in my area so a massive back log. We are awaiting for a private appointment now as i do worry about CM and spotting before my period. My FSH was also just above normal when i asked the doctors to send me my results, even though they said it was satisfactory. So i really want to get the ball rolling now. Oh gosh 4000mg. I did 3000mg and no difference. I also drank so much water it was crazy.

I'm off away tomorrow for a week so i think i'll give the boards a complete break and catch up with you all when im back and hopefully see some BFPs

I'm glad it's good and it's just a matter of time now. I'm still to do tests yet. Will be calling docs next month as that'll be cycle 12 and month 11 then! 😬
I'm on the primrose oil for ewcm too and took 1000mg a day. I did that alongside grapefruit juice and noticed more so give drinking that a go ladies, although it tastes like arse 😂

So we went to the docs today to get his sample pot and it seems the docs are using the wrong paperwork which means there is a chance the sample might not be accepted by the clinic.
We checked the clinic website to make sure we knew exactly what was needed and the docs have given us an old copy if the form which doesn't have half the required information on.

We've printed the correct form from.clinic website and we will have to go back to docs to get them to stamp and sign it 😩😩

Why are tbi gs never simple 😢😢

Then when my partner rang to see if they were open back up and make an appointment, they said they needed to send a new pot and form the doctors. Luckily we had time to collect it and the appointment is tomorrow! Things are never simple! I hope it goes well for you, when's your appointment?

We've both got the day off on the 31st so we're going to drop it in then, we have to book a drop off appointment so will do it early and then go out for the day.

Good job we did check as well as the docs paperwork says to abstain for min of 3 days before sample, clinic paperwork says 2 days. I'm due to ovulate on 28th so would have been tight 😬

@claireb707 that's handy! Good job you checked!! We had to change our appointment as my partner booked one and it was right on possible ovulation day!! 😊

Hi TTC'ers, today we got a letter to tell us we should get a letter with an appointment for DH by next Friday, no idea how long the wait for the appointment will be after that but made me laugh, why not just send the appointment?

CD14 here and no sign of ovulation yet. We're SMEPping this cycle and it feels like I'm thinking about CDs, CM, appointments etc ALL the time. When we are just doing our own thing it feels less heavy on my mind all the time. It hasn't really changed the amount of times we DTD, but it just feels like it's occupying all my brain - anyone else get this?

I'm with you we are just going with the flow so to speak although I've been bleeding for the last 4 days now after already having AF 10 days ago so suspect something is occurring with me somewhere...nothing's every simple with the TTC game x

Morning all! I'm having a right old nightmare cycle this month after bleeding for 5 days mid cycle now I've got loads of EWCM this morning my body has no clue what it's doing 😫

That sounds strange! Maybe related to supplements or stress? It’s so weird what our bodies do - wish I could just peer inside and see what’s going on!

@PlanBea - what’s SMEP? Now I’m worried that we’ve been doing this all wrong!
