TTC 12 months buddies please

Hi,

We have just hit the 12 month mark of TTC and looks like AF is on the way I am on another thread that's really supportive but I do find it disheartening when people get positives on the first couple of cycles of trying. So thought I'd start a thread for anyone around about the year mark. It'll be good to share things and get advice from people who are at a similar stage to me. Im 34 and my husbands 36. We are TTC number 1 x

@Motherofkittens28 Nope definitely not just you! We definitely feel the pressure when it's FW and know we need to DTD. We try to set the mood with music etc but there are some times when we really aren't in to it. We were kinda doing SMEP this month and on my second peak day, I really didn't want to do it beforehand. Got in to it though haha!

@Motherofkittens28 nope defo feel like that most cycles! You are not alone life just gets in the way sometime and the pressure gets too much takes the fun out of it x

@Chel93 I meant fertile week sorry if clots isn't a normal period for you it does sound like maybe a chemical. Sounds like something went on which i suppose is encouraging in a way but disappointing

@Motherofkittens28 i totally agree. We didnt have sex the whole of the 2WW then my period was like 6 days. So DTD last Tuesday and that's been it. Good job i haven't ovulated. Before all this it used to be 2-3 times a week but feels like we do it so much in fertile week that we can't be arsed after. Im just started fertile week now and its such a chore timing it before we go away without too much pressure on my husband. I forget what a normal sex life is like xx

@clolo that sounds reasonable. We are going private as well but there's a few weeks wait for an appointment currently. I know what you mean. It something comes back it at least justifies the cost of treatment but if nothing comes back its weighing up whether to just keep trying. We have decided either way we will have treatment if not pregnant by then as we could just keep being unlucky for years and im sure once we have a baby we won't be thinking about the cost xx

@chel93 just realised i didnt answet everything haha sorry. No coq10 i got myself. I used it when i first came off pill but then gave up. My cycles were long on it last time like 37 days i think but that may have just been because id only just finished the pill. Id heard pregna care has messed a lot of peoples cycles up. I used seven seas now

@clolo 2 weeks time seems worth the cost! We were referred for SA last week, I called the clinic today to ask the average waiting time at the moment (just "weeks" or "months") and the receptionist had zero idea. So it could be any time! I hate all the waiting. If we haven't heard by the time my 21 days are done I might suggest we get DHs test done privately just so we aren't stuck in that backlog before moving on to the next backlog

@Chel93 I had a very heavy period with big clots last month too. I had previously taken pregnancy tests which were negative but I'm thinking it possibly could've been a chemical for me. I'm all ok now - CD18/ approx 5DPO. I hope you're ok xx

@Fran2020 glad you're ok now. Good luck this cycle! I'm ovulating today so will be in the delightful tww tomorrow 🤪
@PlanBea good plan there! The backlog is ridic. I rang the hospital to see when they were sending the letter for my scan to check my cervix for cysts and she said they're not doing routine appointments yet, 😫 unbelievable. The backlog isn't worth thinking about! Looks like I might have to go private too. Gonna see how this cycle goes first.
@Whilstwewait @Motherofkittens28 agree with wanting a normal sex life back! We were only once a week but at least it was every week. Now it's 4 times in fw and then once in the tww if I'm lucky lol!
@Han91s welcome! Total mindfuck right! But we carry on anyway as what else can we do. Hopefully it happens for us all real soon now that we're all passed or near to 12 months.

@notyetamumbuttrying it depends on if the doctors will let us part do private or not, so do the testing privately but treatment with NHS. Our CCG say trying for 2 years before IVF so we're about 6 months away from it being funded, which isn't long in the scheme of things. I'd wait that long to save us the costs of IVF

@PlanBea yeah our ccg is the same timeframe. We defo won't be waiting that long so it'll be private for us! I'm 34 and we wanted two so we've got no time to waste and money saved for at least one round. Just praying and hoping it doesn't come to that! When are your bloods back by?

Erghhh in FW and now started spotting this happened last cycle as well! Never had this before could this be ovulation spotting?
Anyone experienced this before?
I've stopped tracking everything for time being as it was becoming too much. Just want a break! x

@notyetamumbuttrying I'm only day 11 so 10 days till my test and then i should get the results on the Tuesday after. So ages away yet, even though I can see from my chart what the results are going to be! Oh well, at least it ticks the box!

@Hayley19835 it could definitely be ovulation spotting! It's not something I've had but it is definitely a thing. Good luck!

@Hayley19835 i had spotting 2 days after my peak one month was really random I thought it was period coming so could be ovulation bleeding or you may have ovulated earlier and its implantation. Its so hard to know. What cycle day are you?

@Whilstwewait CD13 of 24 day cycle. Had it last month aswell for the first time on the same CD. Need a panty liner in but it's not too heavy x

@hayley19835 does sound like ovulation spotting then which is completely normal. Hope this is your month x

@Whilstwewait I spoke to my gp today I have a factor 11 deficiency so my blood doesn't clot so blood clots for me rnt normal and they was quiet large had to send an email of pics over to gp and she said it does look like a early miscarriage. I have to book and appointment with the bep clinic the end of the week to make sure its all come away and if the bleeding carry on go to a and e as ill need a plasma fusion bit of a pain 😩, ye pregnacare are awful only used them for one month and totally messed me up, I've been reading up on coq10 and they are supposed to be good, read somewhere c0q10 folic acid and vit D are very good when trying to conceive. Do you take the coq10 every day or only certain days? Might give them a try this month fingers crossed for you this month.

Sorry to hear that, hope it sorts itself out naturally and you don't need assistance.

I took coq10 for 3 cycles and it massively messed things up, I'm normally a 28/29 day cycle, it extended them up to 32/34 days and I had one 44 day cycle. I stopped taking it and am now back to 28/29 days. It also changed me from a 4 day period to 3 days

@claireb707 thank you I hope it does too just having plenty of rest and eating chocolate, really oh maybe ill give that a miss then might just try vit d and folic acid maybe some preseed too 🤞

Thanks all for your responses, I dont feel so bad now i know im not alone! This month we are trying preseed and also drinking grapefruit juice as I read that helps with generating fertile mucas. Might all be rubbish but can't hurt and I do think I can see a difference. I think I should ovulate today and it happens to be our anniversary, wouldn't it be nice to conceive today!
