@Dbop100 London too so we'll have the same issues! Already fully prepared to go private if we need any treatment. Booked in for ovulation blood test for next month tho so it's a start. Now to get Dh to book his SA!

Marym1986 · 28/07/2020 19:01

No luck for me either, AF came today. However I have endometriosis and recently started acupunture and so far my pains aren't as excruciating as they usually are 🤞Going for repeat blood tests tomorrow. Hope some of you got bfp this month!

Aokbaby · 28/07/2020 19:36

Aw ladies sorry to hear, I didn't want to ask🙈 this just sucks, I really thought one of us would have been positive this month ☹️

Tink2019 · 28/07/2020 21:00

Me too @Aokbaby, sorry AF appeared for you all 👎🏻 I'm 5dpo but not feeling positive, temps have been weird since O this cycle.

Aokbaby · 28/07/2020 22:01

Do any of you watch the fertility hack on Instagram, she's really good at helping put things into perspective, I especially like her talk on being couple number 90. You guys should check her out, she's Irish and a midwife X

@Tink2019 here's hoping you're the positive 💕

Dbop100 · 29/07/2020 09:32

Well that's me 💯 out for this month, AF turned up bang on schedule (so I guess there's something to be grateful for for having a regular cycle?) fingers crossed for those still in the game this month! 🤞🤞

Thanks for the fertility hack recommend @Aokbaby some really useful info on her stories too!

Someone else on here recommended the podcast Big Fat Negative which has been amazing. I'm totally addicted. Loads of really useful information and also it's really comforting to hear other people's struggles and feel less alone.

@notyetamumbuttrying we're thinking about going private as the wait is so long but no idea where to start with fertility clinics, there are so many in London. The money is so daunting but being in the middle of a global pandemic means the nhs just isn't able to help at the moment so it feels like we don't have much choice, I'm 34 in just over a month and we ideally want 2 (trying for number 1 now) so I don't feel like we can wait.

Florence13 · 29/07/2020 09:39

So sorry to hear about all the BFNs and AF turning up, at least we are all in this together. Glad to hear some have managed to get tests but hear you with the wait times for referrals and backlogs for fertility clinics.

Thanks for that @Aokbaby will have a look at her Instagram.

Crayon7 · 29/07/2020 09:41

I am 9dpo and I think I put too much hope in pre-seed I have bad feeling

Will try to wait 10-11 dpo and test with FRER

notyetamumbuttrying · 29/07/2020 11:17

@Dbop100 in exactly the same position! I turned 34 in March and we want two as well so there's no way I'm waiting on the nhs to get started. I'll see what comes of the bloods and SA and see if I can get a scan too and depending on all of that we'll then go private if any treatment is needed.

Tink2019 · 29/07/2020 11:38

@Dbop100 Sorry you're out this cycle too 👎🏻 If you do go private, have a look at the HFEA - you can search clinics in your area and look at ratings etc www.hfea.gov.uk/choose-a-clinic/clinic-search/ x

On a completely separate note, can anyone give some bbt help? Both apps I use (femometer and started fertility friend this cycle as find temp shifts easier to spot) are saying I O'd on CD15 (ridiculously early for me so guessing the Soy Insoflavones worked!) - had positive OPKs on CD15 and 16 and EWCM on both those days too, but I didn't have a big shift in BBT until CD18...wondering if that's when I actually O'd given that would be 48hrs after my last peak reading. It doesn't matter too much except it'll shift AF date and will avoid me getting excited when AF is late (but actually on time if O was later)!!

Can't believe no BFPs yet
Sorry those that are also out this month.
I'll check out fertility hack too @Aokbaby thanks.

I'm on cycle day 7 now, comes around quickly because sometimes I've ov'd as early as day9, usually around 11-12 though.
Does anyone else have a short cycle?
Often I'm 23 days so when I've ov'd after day 12 (had a day 16 & 17 in the last few months) its obviously a too short leutal phase. Anyone else have this?
X

Dbop100 · 29/07/2020 12:43

@Tink2019 thank you so SO much that's exactly what I need. Really really grateful.

Oooh that's a tricky one.. which OPK's did you use? I gave up on the sticks because they were so confusing so now use CB Digital and its always correct. I'd play it safe and assume you O'd nearer to when your temp rises also that way you'll avoid disappointment later on. Good luck! xx

Tink2019 · 29/07/2020 12:52

That's a good idea @Dbop100 think I'll do that. I use Wondfo ones and definitely get a clear peak (line is always darker than the control...have attached a couple in case I'm being totally thick and reading them wrong, which is entirely possible 😂) - my cycles are so irregular the Clear Blue would be super expensive for me, I start testing CD10 ish and sometimes don't O until CD28!

Dbop100 · 29/07/2020 13:28

@Tink2019 yep those lines look pretty good! I dont think I've ever gotten one so clear, looks like your much better at them than me. Totally get the cost thing, I use sticks then switch to CB as soon as a line appears for the same reason.

@lamby12 ahh CD7 is such a nice hopeful time in your cycle! I have a slightly shorter cycle sometimes (when I ovulate from my right ovary, I think), Ovulating around CD12, but my AF is always exactly 14 days later. If you have a short Luteal phase regularly (like every single month) you should tell your GP that could be making implantation tricky (obvs I'm not a doctors so take that with a pinch of salt) but worth asking them to refer you to fertility even if your not at 1year?

notyetamumbuttrying · 29/07/2020 13:46

@lamby12 I have short cycles! 24 days and usually ov day 10 with a LP of 14. I messed all that up tho with 2 cycles of taking agnus castus to delay ov. It delayed it by 2 days so ov'd cd 12 and thought hoorah but then it shortened my LP to 12 days and caused spotting at the end of my period for 2 days so I knocked it on the head. This cycle I went bk to day 10 ov day but my LP was still 12 days so it was a 21 day cycle!! 😱 my shortest ever! I'm hoping next month it all goes bk to normal. I'm also gonna do my blood tests in Aug too so I need to have a normal cycle for the most accurate reading.
DH is waiting to hear bk to see when he can do his SA. We've got the ball rolling so to speak 😏

Tink2019 · 29/07/2020 14:11

@Dbop100 hasn't thought about switching to Clear Blue after getting first line - although I have 'high' OPKs for days and days before a peak so may still end up expensive!

@lamby12 I've had the occasional short LP so have taken B6 this cycle - 50mg after O was confirmed. No idea if it'll help but can keep you posted.

@notyetamumbuttrying hopefully everything gets going soon for you, or better still you get your BFP before it does!

I was told last time round that BBT was a much more reliable sign of ovulation than the tests (as you can have positive tests but not actually ovulate as they only show a rise in hormones required to trigger ovulation) so I would say you ovulated the day before the temperature rise....but I may have the wrong information....

notyetamumbuttrying · 29/07/2020 16:29

Thanks @Tink2019! It just feels more and more doubtful as the months role on!
How are you getting on? I don't temp so can't help with charts etc although I have ordered a thermometer to start! Arrives on sat.

Tink2019 · 29/07/2020 17:49

@Chalkie67 that's what I think too - think I'll go with that so I don't get disappointed when I'm late for AF!

@notyetamumbuttrying not going to lie, temping is a pain in the arse! But I do find it help to confirm O as I have had a couple of cycles with no temp shift so clearly anovulatory. It's also good for manage expectations - when I see mine dipping at the end of LP I know to expect AF...except last cycle when I became an insane, horrible wife and refused to believe I was out 🙈

notyetamumbuttrying · 29/07/2020 18:58

@Tink2019 I've heard this which is why I've put it off but it's the last thing left for me to do 😂 guess I'm too late to start it anyway as shouldn't it be from cd1?

Chalkie67 · 29/07/2020 19:00

Completely agree that temping is annoying as it's a reminder every morning but it does seem to be the only way to check you are ovulating plus if you want to do acupuncture etc they usually want to see some charts.

Tink2019 · 29/07/2020 19:42

I'd start now @notyetamumbuttrying, takes a while to get in the swing of it so useful to start now so you're ready next cycle x

notyetamumbuttrying · 29/07/2020 19:57

Ok thanks for the tip @Tink2019 it's due to arrive on Saturday.
Thanks for the acupuncture tip too @Chalkie67!

Aokbaby · 29/07/2020 20:03

@notyetamumbuttrying I found temping useful to see where I was at but found that my temp didn't drop until maybe 2nd day of af so was always hopeful it was implantation bleeding. You can download and print a paper copy to mark your temp, I found it easier to compare cycles rather than using an app! Definitely best to start now, my first cycle I started on cd 6 (just after af) good luck x

notyetamumbuttrying · 29/07/2020 20:59

Thanks @Aokbaby! I'm still reluctant as worried about getting obsessive but I am already so what's one more thing in the mix 🤪
