@jlmul9 thanks! That's really useful to know, you're one day ahead of me then so if I'm a similar time frame then I should get a static smiley this PM then. Interesting to see if using the digital advanced pinpoints things any more this month.

jlmul9 · 08/07/2020 19:26

@lamby12 No problem. I was only going to test in the morning like it says for you to do but the hormonal breakout I got made me take it in the evening, I just had a feeling! I hope you don't have to wait too long to see yours too. x

Hoping41 · 08/07/2020 20:16

That sounds really positive @lamby12. I definitely think returning to the real world helps, I wasn't this obsessed when I was working. Hopefully your relaxed month will work out well for you 🤞

lamby12 · 08/07/2020 21:07

@Hoping41 thank you. Being furloughed for months definitely made it an unhealthy focus. I also have a 'sideline' events business that is totally on hold so it felt like everything became focussed on TTC in lockdown. I'm back being busy again now and determined not to test at all in July... I hope I can keep feeling this was post-ov Confused

(Sorry everyone I don't know why that appeared 3 times, oops!)

@lamby12 It’s good to know that it’s not just me looking at future dates! I think the whole lockdown situation has made us all focus so much more on TTC as our normal lives all just suddenly changed. It must be a big relief that things are returning somewhat to normal and sounds like your little break with TTC is just what you need and I hope you and OH have been having fun!

The days of my flashing smiley can really vary - mostly it’s probably 4 days but I have had 7 days too. I do ovulate around day 14/15 each month so I must sometimes just get the first surge a little earlier some months than others.

DSC1 · 09/07/2020 00:24

@jlmul9 the CB advanced are a little confusing - once you get the flashing smiley you can test more than once a day. As the tests are expensive I just tend to test twice a day when I know I am around the time I ovulate (I have regular cycles) so that you catch the static as early as possible.

So after getting my solid smiley on Tuesday night and next to nothing on my ICs yesterday, my ICs and a Boots test today are both showing up SUPER dark. I assumed I had ovulated yesterday when the surge seemed to go away. Could the CB have jumped the gun and detected the surge too soon? Maybe I'm trying to ovulate but haven't been able to? My temps dropped the last two mornings but I had a rise of 0.33 this morning. So confused! Confused

Just saving my spot as the thread had dropped off. With having the Facebook group now I don’t check this one as much!

Annny27 · 09/07/2020 14:25

@Nat4392 have there been any bfps in the Facebook group?

jlmul9 · 09/07/2020 14:25

@Nat4392 Oh would love to join the fb group! Do you have a link?

Nat4392 · 09/07/2020 14:31

@Annny27 no BFPs yet!
@jlmul9 I think @MrsCOR is the one who can open the group up to new members as she created it x

Annny27 · 09/07/2020 14:41

@Nat4392 fingers crossed we get some soon!!!

notyetamumbuttrying · 09/07/2020 14:55

@Annny27 we are very much due a bfp, we're all down in the dumps!
@jlmul9 be lovely to see you there! @MrsCOR will open it up soon I'm sure! And I'm rubbish with opk's so can't really help with your question. I would tend to trust CB tho. Also your body could have attempted to ov and then didn't as opk's only pick up the LH surge, not when you actually ov.

MrsCOR · 09/07/2020 16:28

@jlmul9 and anyone interested, you can join our private Facebook group with this link:

www.facebook.com/groups/280874189631563/?ref=share

I will leave the group open until tomorrow to give you all a chance to join!

No BFP's yet, but there has to be one soon!!!

@jlmul9 I find OPKs really unreliable as I seem to have a few surges, so I use BBT as the main indicator of when I've O'd (think my app does too) - for me that's normally a day or two after a temp dip. My temps are a bit weird though, so that may not be helpful! Have you charted temps for long? If not you might see a pattern after a few cycles.

AF has arrived for me 😩 But actually feeling fine because it means I can get my baseline hormones and scan done then move on from what has definitely been the shittyest month of TTC so far. Hopefully we'll see a few BFPs here soon 🤞🏻

Aokbaby · 09/07/2020 18:33

@jlmul9 that opk on cd18 looks a very strong positive, when I tracked bbt my temp dipped day before ovulation and began to rise on day of ovulation, not sure if that helps in any way.

Can I ask if any of you ladies experience bloating? I've never really had bad bloating at all but since coming off pill my stomach has become quite bloated at night time. I know lockdown hasn't helped as I did eat a lot and have put on weight but it all seems to be in belly area. At night I look about 5months pregnant? Anyone else?

Douya · 09/07/2020 18:37

@jlmul9 The CB tests detect both estrogen and LH, but many other tests like the boots own brand only detect LH. This could be what's causing the difference. In the hormone charts online estrogen is often shown as peaking slightly earlier than LH. Estrogen triggers the LH. The CB advanced stick detected the combination of both hormones (high estrogen and sufficiently high LH), allowing it to give notice of ovulation earlier than other sticks. You probably ovulate today (Thursday), and the level on the CB stick was just sufficent at Tuesday PM to show a static, showing that you would ovulate within the next 48 hours (i.e. Tuesday PM through to Thursday PM), which is consistent with your reading today (Thursday) for just LH on the other sticks. They only test for LH so will be darkest today. On Tuesday AM when you got the flashy smiley however it wasn't quite enough of those two hormones. The static smiley on CB advanced means ovulation will occur anytime in the next 48 hours. This is helpful as this 48 hour period is the most likely window for conception, so it is good to get advance notice prior to ovulation day itself. I don't do temping, but have heard this rises post ovulation so you should see this happen from today onwards.

notyetamumbuttrying · 09/07/2020 18:38

@Aokbaby I bloat when I'm on my period, cd1 is the worst and then it gradually goes down towards the end. Not sure what could be causing yours if you don't usually bloat. Too much fibre can cause it 🤔

Douya · 09/07/2020 18:44

@Aokbaby Only when I've eaten a lot of beans!
@Tink2019 That's a really good idea of a positive way to think about it. My doctor also said I can have the day 3 test when my period comes, so unless I get lucky this month, that's the progress I'll cling onto too. Baseline tests can be our silver linings to AF July clouds!
@Annny27 Yes it does feel like it has been a while since any BFPs have appeared here Sad

Aokbaby · 09/07/2020 19:46

@Douya @notyetamumbuttrying thanks ladies. Yea I think my diet is just rubbish at the minute and not enough exercise 🙈🙈
