Oh my bad experience was my GP surgery @MIW01, I’m sympathetic with the pandemic ongoing but still upset with them they they aren’t very interested in their patients. My private experience started yesterday and so far it’s been good, will see how that continues on Monday with the consultation.

Taking it to your MP seems like a good idea when you’re feeling ready. That’s far too long, it’s ridiculous and really upsetting to have lost so much time. I feel very disappointed by their handling of fertility tests so far, which is why I decided to go for private ones, and it sounds like the experience can be very hit and miss.

Hi to @Aims1991 and @Cuddles21! Sorry I don’t know the OPK answer, they’ve never worked well for me.

MIW01 · 29/01/2021 12:09

@aims1991 If OPK I would suggest keep testing until line fades, then you know that's post ovulation.

I've just started OPKs and clearblue advanced digital, which measures both oestrogen and LH surge and today I've gone straight from Low to Peak (non flashing smiley face) but my one step OPKs only show a slightly darker line that isn't as dark as the baseline. Interesting! I'm going to keep testing with the OPKs and see if I get a darker line this cycle.

Just wondering if anyone else goes straight from Low to Peak using ClearBlue advanced digital? This is my first time.

Told DP that we will be scheduling an early night!

thislittlebird · 29/01/2021 12:40

@MIW01 are they the CB digital sticks? I haven’t used those but started using CB advanced monitor thingy this month and got high all month and then peak on CD15. Assuming this is a first month problem.

No sustained rise on my temps yet and I’m on CD17 so I’m wondering if I ovulate a little later than most following the LH surge so DH has already been summoned today, and will attempt a few more days just in case. This is the most effort we’ve put in any month so far.

MIW01 · 29/01/2021 13:03

@thislittlebird so doing one step OPKs twice a day (morning and evening) and CB Adv Dig sticks woth 1st urine. Says not to do again now until next month but straight from Low to Peak - no flashing smiley! Could be a month 1 issue but don't know. But 1 step OPK is only slightly darker than last few days. Will keep going with those until line fades again.

Can't always go by my temperature as it's very irregular but the dip amd rise does correlate.

Last month I got a positive OPK on CDs 19&20 and ended up having a 35 day cycle! Very unusual for me I'm normally 28 on the dot.

thislittlebird · 29/01/2021 13:26

Yeah my monitor sticks are first urine too @MIW01, I assume they’re similar, but good that OPKs work to narrow it down for you.

I’ve read the monitors can take a month or two to adjust to your levels so hopefully next month it’ll know when to show “low”.

I had a 35 day cycle in December and did not love it, mine is usually 29 days so I assumed I would be pregnant lol. Clearly I was not. I wasn’t tracking anything then though, but that’s what made me start this month.

Lozzlepop · 01/02/2021 10:28

Hi gals,

How are we all doing? What have I missed- I am so bad at keeping upto date with the chat!

Hi to all the new ladies, welcome to the thread!

@Kiza I have everything crossed for you hun, not long to wait now!!

@XjustagirlX @orangeloo @Annny27 how are you ladies doing?

MIW01 · 01/02/2021 10:58

Good morning @Lozzlepop how are you getting on?

Yes @Kiza let us know how it goes!

And yes, welcome to all!

I'm continuing woth the 1 stop OPKs and not getting any sgn of increase in LH from them. It's really odd. CD 17 today

@thislittlebird my disrupted cycles are due to the HyCoSy I had in November. The 2 cycles I had after it have been odd lengths. The 1st a short one at 26 days and the second was the long 35 days. HYCoSY is meant to help with fertility so keeping my fingers crossed. On the 35 day cycle I ovulated about day 20 as got surge on day 19 initially.

thislittlebird · 01/02/2021 11:14

Ah I see @MIW01. Doctor said I’d need a hycosy before IVF. I’m a bit nervous about it but it won’t be for a couple of months or more yet. Going to up the natural frequency and see how that goes before we take the next steps.

At least you got your surge and o, fingers crossed 🤞

Mine was day 17 according to my calculations and FF so I’m in the 2ww now.

orangeloo · 01/02/2021 13:53

Hey @Lozzlepop how are you?

I'm waiting a call back from my clinic as was supposed to have a letter through with my appointment date by now and I haven't. Waiting waiting waiting haha.

Yes thinking of you @Kiza

Lottiepink · 02/02/2021 08:33

Hello everyone,

So sorry I've been missing again, needed to take some time out, been feeling totally fed up to be honest! Feel a little better now.

Our latest appointment was cancelled due to covid, we are still waiting for DH's SA results from December and waiting for news on his ultrasound scan. It sounds like he has a varicocele, which is great news really, as it could explain the low sperm results, but feel so annoyed that it has taken this long to find it out, and with covid, I'm not sure if they will operate, and if they will, when it will be.

I've been chasing over the last week, and I will continue to keep it up, I know there's so much going on at the moment, but they still have a duty and I just feel we have been put on the back burner for long enough. Our ttc journey has gone on for so long and I think I'm just starting to lose my patience a little 😢

Had two longer cycles, where I made it to 14dpo both times, almost unheard of for me, but it also got my hopes up massively as it meant I was late and my app was telling me to test, in December I did my first ever frer 😂 and I was convinced it was going to be positive, as I had most of the early symptoms, my body was just playing tricks on me ☹️

I said to DH last year that 2020 was going to be our year, but 2021 is definitely ours I hope 😊

Hope you are all doing well, will try and keep up with the chat, as it does help to get it all out, and hear all your stories too ☺️

@Kiza amazing news, I will keep my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

@Annny27 @orangeloo @Lozzlepop @MIW01 will try and read back and catch up on your journeys so far also, Sorry if I missed anyone!
Welcome to everyone new!
And sorry for the extremely long post 🙈

Kiza · 02/02/2021 08:41

@Lottiepink so frustrating when we have to chase and chase, even before Covid I felt I was constantly chasing things. It's extra stress you don't need right now. As you mentioned at least you now have some information that could explain a few things and hopefully there will be treatment of some sort?

@orangeloo could they not email you the letter?

@MIW01 I recall having 3 months of majority disrupted cycles after my HSG, it eventually settled though.

@Annny27 no side effects from the cyclogest other than slight constipation, I think I've been one of the very lucky ones to not have many side effects from any of the drugs. Although when I tried the cyclogest rectally - OH MY! Orange sharts! (A fart that turns into a shit/follow through!) 😂😂😂 sorry I know that's gross but thankfully I was at home all day until it settled -lesson learnt!

We test in a couple of weeks- I'm feeling hopeful and excited 🤞🏼🤞🏼 thanks for still thinking of me ladies x

MIW01 · 02/02/2021 11:19

Sorry @Kiza but that's hilarious! Sharts! Grin brilliant. I hope that it all comes to fruition for you.

Sorry to hear you are also extremely fed up @Lottiepink I've post previously about my awful experience. I've now changed CCGs so means I am now eligible for NHS funding but now waiting again as having to repeat tests and they do it a slightly different way so having to wait to be referred to a specialist GP. So more waiting!

I'm still getting negative one step OPKs . . . Now CD18 I think? Lost track!

Annny27 · 02/02/2021 11:48

Morning ladies! I am ovulating/ have ovulated - my boobs have become a bit tender and cm moving from ewcm to creamy so think its happened. Cd15 today

I am just looking at everyones names and I am so sad for us but proud of us for how we are going through this journey! Cant believe we are all still here. The naivety and excitement for life i had 2 years ago had definitely dwindled but I am hopeful still

@kiza yeo having used them recalls I can confirm about the sharts 🤣🤣🤣

I am so excited for you to test. You said testing in a couple of weeks?? Or did you mean days

@MIW01 last month I didnt ovulate untkll like cd21 and I was so bored waiting!

@lottiepink sounds tough but good news that there is a potential cause to DHs issues!!

In December I also made it to 16dpo with no spotting and I was CONVINCED that I was pregnant. As soon as the nagative result showed on the test I started spotting later on so think my mind and body were all tricking me!

@orangeloo we will be queens of patience by the time this is all over haha

@Lozzlepop do you know if your wedding will still be going ahead?

XjustagirlX · 02/02/2021 12:27

Hi everyone. I’m having two cycles not TTC. It’s actually quite a relief not to be thinking about it.

I had my NK cells consultation and I’m going to Coventry the next two cycles to have the nk biopsies done. I’ve also got my RMU tests at some point in March.

Im still waiting for my hysteroscopy. The secretary is chasing it up. I explained that if it is on hold or will be months away then I would like to get on the list for ivf. She’s letting me know if this is possible. Does anyone know roughly how long the ivf process takes? From initial request for ivf to actually putting the embryos inside me. Obviously we have had some horror stories of waiting times on here but how long generally should it take?

Lozzlepop · 02/02/2021 16:59

Hey all!

@MIW01 @orangeloo thanks for checking in. Officially on the IVF list now and should have an appointment at some point in the summer. I have to get my thyroid tested again as last time my results were borderline and the Dr suggested waiting until we were going to try again to get this done, Based on the results I will decide weather we try again naturally or opt for Clomid and the the IVF will be our last choice essentially.

@orangeloo thats frustrating you haven't had your letter yet, hopefully you have managed to chase it up?

@Lottiepink nice to see you back on the thread, hopefully you get some answers on next steps soon!

@Annny27 so frustrating when your body tricks you like that, I hope you are ok!! 87 days to go...... 🤞🏻I have everything crossed, we are in lockdown at the mo but we are hoping for an intimate ceremony so I just need for us to get back to tier 3 so we can have 20 guests (well 18 really) I think its doable as long as we get out of lockdown next month (it was just extended until March today) and I can get my alterations etc done!

@XjustagirlX how did you get on with the NK consultation, is this something you ate paying for privately- is it expensive? Our IVF wait in our area is 12 month so I think that is when you start taking the medications etc but we would have a consultation beforehand at the 6-9 month mark.

MIW01 · 02/02/2021 18:19

Glad to hear you're on the list @Lozzlepop I've been told I can try Clomid but now changed CCGs as previous one won't fund IVF over 35. Been told I need to see a specialist GP in this area first. Hope you're not waiting too long!

Kiza · 03/02/2021 08:39

One of us old timers has some great news! Still in shock that only 1 egg was collected but it managed to fertilise into a top grade embryo!
Praying for a sticky few months 🙏🏼🤞🏼
Thanks so much for still thinking of me and your continued support ladies, I suppose that old saying of 'it only takes 1 is true', although I still can't help but wonder why we struggled so much to conceive naturally.
2 and half years in and praying this is it for us!

@kiza Omg omg omg omg this has MADE MY DAY!!!!!!!!

Is it weird i have tears in my eyes? 😭😭😭😭🌈🌈🌈🌈

I am soo soo soo happy for you

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 03/02/2021 08:54

Omg that’s so exciting @Kiza! Fingers crossed it’s sticky. Gives us all a glimmer of hope, I suspect.

Is this your first round? That’s amazing.

MIW01 · 03/02/2021 09:44

Congratulations @Kiza! Everything crossed for stickiness! It is weird how complex our bodies are RE the conceiving naturally thing. I guess we just don't know what else is going g on for sure. The medical field still have a lot to learn! We're wondering the same. No apparent reason found!

Kiza · 03/02/2021 10:43

Oh @Annny27 your response made me well up too! It's been such a long road with you ladies and I really hope this is the light at the end of our tunnel.

@MIW01 completely, I'm so grateful to have been given this cycle as technically they could've cancelled it as I was past 40 and only 2 follicles were stimulated. I wonder if I just don't have many eggs left and some months I wasn't actually releasing an egg even though my body believed it was??

@thislittlebird yep, first round free on the NHS but I was lucky to get in as I turned 40

Thanks for all your well wishes ladies and sending tons of positive vibes to you all also x

MIW01 · 03/02/2021 13:32

@Kiza is that the 1st time you've seen a positive pregnancy test? (For you I mean of course).

Kiza · 03/02/2021 13:35

@MIW01 no I've had 2 miscarriages before right at the beginning of us TTC 2 and half years ago so this one has been a long time coming! Think I'll be holding my breath for 9 months!

MIW01 · 03/02/2021 13:57

Definitely! Sorry my memory is terrible I'm sure you told me before . . . I've never had a positive test (yet) and I am honestly so excited for you, feel quite emotional! And has given me hope that one day soon I may see my 1st BFP Smile

Lozzlepop · 03/02/2021 17:33

@Kiza absolutely delighted for you both ❤️massive congratulations!!!!
