@MIW01 thanks and happy new year to you too! Hope you got the BDing in.

Happy new year and baby dust to all too!

@Annny27 ah yeah that's tough. I'm now over the two year mark and it massively stings. Many people have two babies in the time I've been trying for one.

Just waiting for result if one more (repeated 🙄) test then it goes back to new clinic and they apply for funding. Which I'm told could be anything from 2-18 wk wait. I have been assured it very rarely takes 18 weeks. After that I don't even know how long until our planning appointment so it's like how long is a piece of string. I know anyone who is entitled to treatment on the nhs is lucky but my god it's been stressful they are so disorganised and they have wasted a lot of our time. I've been on the ball and chased everything through. I'm sure not everyone has had such a bad experience but I would give a word of warning that even once you reach the time for referral to hospital from your GP it can be so slow.

Mrs Hinches announcement got me last night. I love her and her fam but it was a stark reminder of the cruel and injustice that is infertility.

orangeloo · 02/01/2021 10:52

@Kiza how are you getting on?

Annny27 · 02/01/2021 11:12

@MissLotti I get mine off amazon which is easy :D and yep it stresses me when the opks dont show ovulation at first!

Omg same @orangeloo! Her first baby was born a month or so after we started ttc so its like ahh damn she has had a whole other baby in that time! I do love her but it was a shock to see it. Plus my friends all love her too so were all talking about it in our group chat and I am quietly sad in the background!

@orangeloo oh God I felt the same with Mrs Hinch last night too! And seeing all my families photos of their 1 & 2 year olds, like yourself and @Annny27, passing the 1 year mark is hard enough but the 2 year mark is a killer!
With us once our IVF funding was approved we were told we would've had a treatment planning appointment within 6 weeks (but Covid delayed it as it was during lockdown). I'd advise the same of chasing, writing down the names of the nurses/doctors you talk to as our experience was awful!

I'm now 11 days into down regging and doing ok, have a banging headache today which is my first 'side effect' so think I'm lucky. DP is becoming a pro at the injections and only have a couple of bruises.

@MIW01 good news on such a strong OPK, good luck for this cycle

Narwhal88 · 03/01/2021 10:06

Hi all, have been keeping an eye on this thread but not posted in a while. Been on the 12 month+ thread mainly along with @Annny27 😊

Just an update with my experience. Was referred to sub fertility consultant back in February, it took until November to get all the tests done. We have male factor infertility- very low count and morphology. We were referred for IVF on 24th November and I got a call from Care fertility (NHS funded) 2 days later with an appointment for 23rd December. They also posted out blood tests for me and DH to check vitamin D and my thyroid levels. At that appointment I was told I need to go on levothyroxine to reduce my level a tiny bit (it was 2.8 and needs to be under 2.5) and to increase our vit D supplementation a little. They will send me another blood test at the end of Jan to check it's now ok. Already got my tablets and started them 2 days ago. Now waiting for a nurse consultation and we should be able to start end of Feb/ beginning of March hopefully!
I did make sure I kept on top of things and chased but I must say my experience has been positive with the NHS. Though it did seem like it was just a tick box exercise to get the tests done to just refer me over rather than really find out what my DHs issue is. He was also referred to a urologist on 24th November for a cyst and has already had an appointment with the consultant and been told all is ok. I'm thankful we were referred to a private clinic (as my NHS trust doesn't have an ACU) as maybe that is what causes more delays with NHS ACUs?

Really hope your IVF is successful for you @Kiza and that you can get started soon @orangeloo 🤞🏼

Oh and I was 30 when we started TTC and I am 32 so I know how you feel @Annny27 ☹️ I think we both started June 2019?

Mrs Hinch's stories yesterday also upset me, it just all feels so unfair.

Lozzlepop · 07/01/2021 21:04

Hi ladies,

Long time no speak- I've not been getting any notifications on the chat so thought it had all gone quiet 😂How is everyone? what have I missed?

@whatsthecraic91have you had the little one yet?

@Annny27 how are you getting on?

@Kiza delighted to read you have started your IVF journey!!

@orangeloo hope you get started too

@XjustagirlX hows things with you?

Not much to report here, we have done our IVF referral but its at least a 12 month wait here, probably more with Covid!! Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Year Despite the restrictions ☺️

Billythecat · 08/01/2021 02:30

Hi, would you mind if I joined you here? TTC #1 and now on 4th cycle(although first 2 I think the timing was all off)! Starting to feel quite hopeless about it and each new pg announcement on fb etc feels like a pain hits! I have endo, so although it’s not guaranteed to cause issues, I have it in the back of my mind all of the time that it will. TTC is a pretty lonely experience so hoping to find some company here! Smile

orangeloo · 08/01/2021 09:29

@Lozzlepop hey. Thank you. gosh 12 months is a long time to wait. I hope it doesn't end up being that for you.

@Narwhal88 glad u haven't found it too bad and hopefully your thyroid comes down it should do.

The one swab result I'm waiting on- had it done 23rd December- been chasing results since 29th nhs only told me yesterday lab machine is broken and hope to have it back today!? Why were they not forthcoming with that info. I could of had it done somewhere else and got result back by now 🙄 just another example of there uselessness and just my luck. May not sound a big deal in itself but this is part of a long list of grievances I have had with them. So much time wasted. Cannot wait to be free of this nhs hosp and reffered into the private clinic.

@Billythecat welcome, think 4 months ish was when I started to get frustrated too. Perhaps contact your gp if not successful after 6 months and say your concerned cos of endo etc they may offer you some initial fertility tests. At the same time though it's perfectly normal for conception to take up to a year so try not to get too stressed.

whatsthecraic91 · 08/01/2021 19:54

Hey ladies

Baby boy arrived 12.37am on New Year's Eve 💙 got to 10cms pretty quickly when things got going but he was in a bad position so had to have a csection after 2 hours of pushing!! He is an absolute dream, I've to wake him every 3 hours to feed!!

Happy new year to all you ladies and I'll be checking in to see how you are all doing. Baby dust to you all & I'm praying 2021 is your year x

Annny27 · 09/01/2021 08:09

@whatsthecraic91 congratulations! So happy for you to finally have your little one in your arms 🥰

Annny27 · 09/01/2021 22:00

Evening ladies :D 6dpo now so just putting myself into work and tidying ti keep my mind off things!

@kiza how is rhe ivf going - I imagine egg retrieval isn't too far away?

@lozzlepop can't believe the wait for ivf in your area is so long!

@Narwhal88 not toi long now untill you can get started on ivf! I think thats what will be recommended to me when I have my appointment in Feb!

@orangeloo not thats super frustrating, like 1 wait isn't usually a problem but qhen its with everysingle procedure and test it gets a bit tedious!!

Room for one more? :)

Off the pill since summer. Cycle has gone AWOL with PCOS so hoping for Chlomid soon.

Annny27 · 09/01/2021 22:41

@acciobaby welcome :D

Have you been having really long cycles then?

OP posts:
acciobaby · 09/01/2021 23:06

@Annny27 thanks for having me! Day 72 and counting, no sign of AF or even an LH peak. Had a second blood test last week so hopefully can get going on some form of treatment soon.
Hope you're all getting on ok! Will scroll back through to get up to speed :)

MIW01 · 10/01/2021 20:41

Congratulations @whatsthecraic91 beautiful boy! Hope you are both doing well?

Welcome @Narwhal88 I'm glad someone had a good experience with the NHS. I'm still planning to take action on mine, it was disgusting.

Welcome @acciobaby hope you get your Clomid soon!

So I called the fertility clinic as requested to request the Clomid and they have no record of it. And with everything else going on atm that's the least of my worries! Thought 2020 was bad but 2021 is already proving to be a right corker! I can honestly say I feel like there is nothing I feel happy about in my life right now, I'm really digging deep when I'm writing in my gratitude journal and doing my tapping meditations!

I've ordered the one step and clear blue advanced digital ovulation kits, hopefully they help.

Hope other are having a better start than me.

Annny27 · 10/01/2021 20:53

@MIW01 I am feeling pretty similar 😪 hard to feel happy or excited when you are going through infertility plus coupled with a float pandemic, not able to see family and friends or do anything fun or go on holiday and enjoy our child free life!!!

@acciobaby also I just noticed your username hahahah. If only we could all accio a baby it would be action easier

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 10/01/2021 20:58

Can I put my head in? Also been trying for our first for a while now......would really love a holiday too @Annny27 but can’t have one right now which kinda sucks lol Confused

MIW01 · 10/01/2021 22:11

Yes @Annny27! Love this name @acciobaby I may go and read the entire Harry Potter series to try and cheer myself up!

Tbh infertility and all pandemic issues are just the tip of the iceberg for me, there is so much other rubbish on top of this I don't even know how! I'm so, so exhausted, anxious, depressed it's making me ill but life just won't let up! My family and friends are lovely but no-one can physically help us it's really draining. I don't think all this rubbish is helping us to conceive Sad

XjustagirlX · 11/01/2021 15:06

Hi everyone

@whatsthecraic91 beautiful I bet you’re over the moon 💕

I had a call today to book in my consultation with the killer cells specialist in Coventry. It’s an online call this Friday. Then I need to book in for my biopsy. I also phoned about my recurrent miscarriage referral. Luckily things are still going ahead and I am still due to have my appointment in March. Based on tests and wait times I should have some answers by May! I’m also waiting for my hysterscopy but I’ve not got a date for that yet.

I’m currently on 5dpo. Still doing acupuncture. I’ve noticed a difference to my cycles and I’m a complete convert. My luteal phase has gone from 13 to 15 days. I also no longer get any spotting before my period and I don’t have the usual cramps before. The AF is heavier too.

acciobaby · 11/01/2021 19:24

@MIW01 @Annny27 haha at the moment I think I should probably rein in my ambitions to just accioAF or even accioLH!

Aw I feel for you @MIW01. Sick of hearing "just try to relax"!

Annny27 · 14/01/2021 15:24

Hello ladies! About 11dpo atm. Husband had his second SA today and I was paranoid that we would be stopped on the way to check if the journey was essential and then I would have to explain to the police that we have a pot of dying sperm that need to be delivered within half hour 🤣🤣 luckily that didn't happen :p

@acciobaby I would try all sorts of spells if I could tbh!! Any sign if ovulating of AF?

@xjustagirlx thats really interesting about the accupuncture! It sounds like it is helpful in getting more blood flow to the uterus. I noticed one near me the other day I I might call and ask if they do fertility stuff

@MIW01 that sounds really tough:( lso your recent diabetes diagnosis this year if I remember correctly? Can't be easy :( 2021 summer needs to really be good to make up for all this shit!

@thislittlebird welcome :) how long have you been trying? I am on 14th month since miscarriage but 20 months overall since we started trying!

How are the rest of us? @lottiepink @lozzlepop @orangeloo @kiza (PUPO - pregnant untill proven otherwise :D )

OP posts:
orangeloo · 14/01/2021 16:43

@Annny27 hahaha glad you got the swimmers there without being pulled over lol.
11DPO, any symptoms?

Finally had some good news on Monday. Funding was approved - came back same day! and done with the rubbish hospital. Now under new one only and they said I should have an appointment end of feb ish which is a lot quicker than I thought. Felt so relieved and weight off my shoulders not to have to keep chasing and banging my head against a wall.

Yes thinking of you @Kiza

thislittlebird · 14/01/2021 16:57

Thanks for the welcome @Annny27! Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, it’s frustrating how long this all takes and how rough it is.

Started trying October 2019 officially but I was ill for a few months at the beginning of 2020 so we had to take a break. The time has flown by, can’t quite believe how quickly a year or more has gone. I had a bit of a panic yesterday and booked some private fertility tests and a consultation, still waiting for nhs referral (have to redo a test in Feb before they’ll refer me). At least I’ll have a few more answers soon hopefully, I’m 37 so time is not on my side really and getting some more information will hopefully be a good thing.
