Thanks @Annny27

So I spoke a Dr at the new surgery who confirmed the new age limit of 40 in the area but did conform I need to have certain tests again as they are only valid for 6 months. It's absolutely ridiculous it takes so long to get tests that they go out of date before you can be referred!

Annny27 · 10/12/2020 08:57

@MIW01 That is very frustrating that it takes so long and then they expire!!

I have my next fertility appointment in February I am not sure if they will need to do the hsg test or not - I have had an ultrasound and all the blood tests so far and my husband has had SA.

I am just a bit fed up at this stage as it takes so long haha!

Hey @Annny27 yes everything does take so long.

I have had nightmare with the hospital and our IVF stuff they have just been really incompetent and mixed messages and so inefficient still got to have more tests they said before we didn't need. Luckily now I feel, we are actually moving hospital from them due to where we live. Just got to get all these finals tests sorted with them and then on to a private Nuffield hospital that take nhs patients so I'm glad we'll be leaving our local hospital now as they've been dreadful and really stressed me out. Can never get the time they've wasted back but hopefully onwards and upwards.

@MIW01 wow they expire in 6 months! Yes that's crazy! Especially as u say when it all takes so long anyway.

Annny27 · 14/12/2020 09:33

@orangeloo thats so frustrating! Do you know when the final tests will be completed and when treatment will start?

I am currently 15dpo and not had any spotting yet 👀 took a test at 13dpo (low sensitivity) and was bfn so i am reluctant to test again

It’s so frustrating all the same tests they have to do. And everything takes so long.

I’ve got a call next week from my infertility hostiles. No idea what it is about. I had my hycosy and I’m supposed to be on the list for a hsg so no idea what the call is for.

I’m on 11dpo today and my bbt has dropped this morning so I’m not hopeful for this cycle.

I’m still waiting for my nk cells appointment in Coventry and my Recurrent miscarriage Appointment in March.

orangeloo · 14/12/2020 12:34

@Annny27 extra/repeat tests should be complete by end of month. No idea for start date as only when they have all this do they apply for your funding and really god knows how long that takes. It's all so slow and archaic, a constant moving target and no one gives you any definite answers. I have pushed and chased stuff as a hell of a lot. I feel if women aren't as informed or on the ball as I have been god knows what would happen.

Oh gosh 15dpo and no spotting. I have everything crossed for you x

Annny27 · 14/12/2020 12:43

Whats the difference between a hycosy and a hcg @XjustagirlX

@orangeloo yeah they never give you a straight forward timeline. Well I did a test and it was bfn so thats me out! Strange how i have had no spotting this month though! My cycle always amazes me how it can throw a different curveball every month :p

OP posts:
orangeloo · 14/12/2020 14:02

@Annny27 ah sorry I got bfn. But yay for no spotting hopefully that's here to stay. X

XjustagirlX · 14/12/2020 16:38

@orangeloo what tests do they need to redo before they can apply for the funding?

@Annny27 hycosy is the dye test where they check if tubes are blocked. A hsy is where they put an actual camera up there to have a look around. He wants to do a hsy to see if there is any scarring on my lining to see if they can work out why my lining doesn’t thicken.

orangeloo · 14/12/2020 21:03

@XjustagirlX it's not the formula of tests for funding as such it's just unfortunately for me my hospital have been terrible and disorganised and now I'm moving hospital and what different hospitals insist on before they apply for your funding can differ slightly.

But From what I know, pre ivf tests at least must included these.
Recent hormone profile.
Tubes tested.
Semen Analysis.
Full infection and viral screen at least for the woman.
Semen analysis
AMH
Trans vagina ultrasound
Up to date with smear tests.

MIW01 · 22/12/2020 10:17

@orangeloo that's what I've had (but some now out of date). I think the stress has knocked my cycle out of whack as I was 2 days early this month! Which means my day 21, which I need another repeat test for, falls on new years day!

orangeloo · 22/12/2020 10:47

I think day 21 is okay a day either side of u can get in then? Saves waiting another month @MIW01

Annny27 · 24/12/2020 09:37

@whatsthecraic91 oh that's so exciting for you! That's great to hear that despite COVID they are still properly looking after you, I hear a few awful stories. Yes it feels quite exciting to be starting it at this time of year

MrsEG · 28/12/2020 13:25

Hello ladies, just wanted to pop in and see how everyone was doing - I’ve tried to catch up a bit! Sorry to see some of you are having a really rough ride, it’s so hard. Wishing you all the absolute best for babies in 2021 I really am, and hope you all had a lovely Christmas xx

orangeloo · 29/12/2020 17:31

Hey @MrsEG lovely to hear from you. how are you doing? How is life with twins? ☺️ xx

MissLotti · 29/12/2020 17:39

Hi sorry to butt in on your thread but I’m 10 cycles into my TTC journey and still not BFP. I’m late to the game but is anyone taking any pregnant supplements they can recommend? I’ve tried the pregnecare ones with no luck and now just on folic acid for a try. Thanks in advance :)

Kiza · 29/12/2020 21:56

@MissLotti welcome to the group, most of us here are old timers and unfortunately still here after a lengthy time. I've tried every supplement under the sun for approx 18 months and it's not gotten me pregnant but supplements have helped DP sperm morphology so they can help. It depends how much money you want to spend as they can all add up and become costly so worth thinking about your lifestyle, diet etc as to what can help.
All mine were focussed on age and egg quality, so it's really a very personal choice.

MIW01 · 31/12/2020 14:02

Oh my goodness @whatsthecraic91 is he here? Would you mind sharing a photo I'd love to see?

Hello @MrsEG lovely to hear from you! How are you & family doing?

@Kiza how's your IVF doing?

You may all think me at bit mad but I am so excited, last night and today I have a very clear positive OPK! Which suggests I am ovulating! All be it a lot later than expected (now CD 20) so I'm postponing my 21 day progesterone blood test for next week! I didn't realise how anxious I was feeling about this until I saw that dark line last night, I am so relieved! Hopefully this means we can properly plan our DTD days to maximise our chances in 2021.

Wishing you all a happy new year, hope 2021 brings you all wonders and joy and much needed baby dust and less Apocalypse C and pandemic and political rubbish!

Annny27 · 01/01/2021 16:52

Hello ladies :D happy new year to you all! I am ovulating today or tomorrow (started having ewcm before Christmas but that never amounted to much and now having lots so think this is it haha)

I turned 29 recently so I should be anny29 now. My username is a depressing reminder that I was 27 when this all started and 2 years later still not closer!

@MIW01 thats good to get a positive ovulation test. I always find its such a relief when ovulation signs start popping up! I am cd19 so similar ovulation time to you this month

@Kiza I hope the injections have been getting easier :) makes you appreciate what diabetics and people who have to inject daily go through!

@whatsthecraic91 I hope he is here safe and sound now. We would love to see a pic (even just a little foot or something that doesn't give identities away haha)

@MissLotti sorry you also find yourself in this position :( I take seven seas folic acid tablets and its made my levels all good (blood test confirmed) but no baby yet haha!

@MrsEG thabk you 💗💗 hope you and the twins are well xx

@orangeloo are you any closer to an IVF referral now?

OP posts:
MissLotti · 02/01/2021 07:13

@Annny27 I’m supposed to be ovulating too but no high levels of LH showing up on ovulation tests yet so now starting to get a bit worried about that.
The Seven seas tablets were what I was thinking of going onto next but annoyingly I just missed the offer where they were 3 for 2 in boots!
