@Twinkletoes85 Oh definitely, working from home is great fun!

My plan now if it doesn’t happen this month is to get the clear blue smiley face type ovulation kits. I find the cheap internet ones confusing. My line seems to get darker and darker in the week running up to ovulation making it kind of difficult to know exactly when ovulation occurs.

Plaw · 15/06/2020 20:31

Oh @MrsCOR I would like to join the Facebook page if possible. Might be a little bit handier!

MrsCOR · 15/06/2020 20:34

@Plaw - of course!

Thanks for replying ladies, yea the GP said that it shouldn't hopefully be an issue as it was cleared up but you can't help but worry. She said give it to the end of summer and if nothing has happened by then she'll get the ball rolling for us, she really settled my mind a bit as I'd be a bit of a worrier but somehow it just helps when you hear it from a GP.
I couldn't believe it when they said I had it, very embarrassing 😲

Fifol · 15/06/2020 21:34

@aokbaby nothing to be embarrassed about it's so common.

I actually had HPV I cant believe I forgot that! It was detected in a smear test and then didnt go away on it's own which it should so I had a biopsy and then lletz treatment. I remember being so upset when I had to have it as I had read that it can make your cervix unable to stay closed when pregnant but the doctor doing it said it was such a tiny piece they had to take that it would be fine. But it's still something I worry about. I think they can put a stitch or something in to keep it closed if needs be. I was due to have another smear to follow up in March but was obviously cancelled and they're not back doing them yet

notyetamumbuttrying · 15/06/2020 21:56

Same as me @Fifol I'm a March baby too! Would be great to give birth before my next bday so this cycle would be ideal!!
Be fab if the dates matched up to things wouldn't it @DSC1! So glad I'm not the only one that does this lol! @introv3rt
Good luck with the results @Tink2019, feel free to update us. Wishing you all the best!
Glad she settled your mind @Aokbaby! I'm sure all will be good.
So glad so many are joining us on the fb group too! @Plaw I love chatting anywhere so having both platforms is great for my Chatty Cathy ways 😂

Aokbaby · 15/06/2020 21:59

@Fifol thanks so much, I just never thought it would happen to me,as you say it is so common and the gp was sort of like yea ok as if it was no big deal. Hopefully no lasting damage🤞

My last smear showed erosion of the cervix, it bled on contact which again is very common on pill. The nurse told me to wait until I had follow up smear before coming off pill and TTC which thankfully came back normal so started my journey then.

Do you ever just feel like you're just looking for something to worry about. When one thing finishes or you stop worrying about it, it's just on to the next thing! Gaaawwd 🙄

Missgoldilocks · 15/06/2020 23:37

Hey ladies!! Sorry I totally missed the fact there was a new thread!! I'm 1dpo today managed to dtd 3 times during fertile week so fingers crossed ey! How is everyone??

@Aokbaby hey there... So I've had an STD and I had mine for about a year without knowing, you see, when I was 18 my ex gave it to me and I thought I had treated it but the nurse had actually only given me BV tablets but I hadn't understood that I needed to go back for more pills. Anyway, I had Gonorrhea for like a year. I was scared it had damaged me and the doctor basically put her fingers inside and felt up towards my ovaries on each side and asked me if it hurt and I said no so she said I should be fine. Well she must have been right because I conceived my son afterwards. Now that I've been trying for nearly a year I'm thinking I need my tubes checked though I can't shake the feeling that there is a problem. Hopefully there isn't! Maybe get your partner to feel up towards your ovaries and see if you have pain x

Aokbaby · 15/06/2020 23:44

@missgoldilocks thankyou for this. Yea I will ask him to do this and hope to good god that it feels ok. Can I ask how long after did you conceive your son?

Missgoldilocks · 16/06/2020 00:08

@aokbaby I wasn't trying to concieve so I can't really recall but I'd say about a year

Twinkletoes85 · 16/06/2020 07:52

Morning ladies, I use both Flo and Fertility Friend to track. How do amend the fertile dates on FF? I got my flashing smiley this morning (which I'm very pleased about as I said to OH yesterday I expected today.)

Do you log flashing smileys as a positive test?

Interestingly FF has predicted my fertile days from yesterday to peak on Thursday but Flo has my predicted fertile dates from Thursday to peak next Tuesday.

It's my first month using FF and before last month I was just using Flo no opks so I wonder how many opportunities I've missed.

skittles2003 · 16/06/2020 08:26

@Twinkletoes85 I've only just started using FF but I think it should automatically calculate once you enter your opk data? Or does it only do it after ovulation (like it does with temps)?

Twinkletoes85 · 16/06/2020 08:29

@skittles2003 I found a section for digital opks where you can enter low high or peak so I've put high in there.

It's the first month I've used it and I put historical dates in and it seems very accurate!

@Aokbaby I had horrible recurring thrush for about a year. I got the canesten pessiary and cream. It relieved symptoms but they would still come back. Eventually my fertility massage lady (aka the oracle) picked up on it and said it can be blocking conception. She suggested I take Acidophilus tablets for 3 months and cut sugar as it feeds the yeast. It's now gone - hurrah! Had to take some BioKult tablets to put good bacteria in after. I can send you the links of the ones I took if that's helpful? It's really horrible and mine would flare up at ovulation as the hormones changed which was so frustrating.

Fifol · 16/06/2020 11:15

@Twinkletoes85 my first month using FF too.

I started the opk Monday which was a blank circle as usual but got another blank today which I wasn't expecting! I only got w second blank once when i started testing really early and purposely left it a but later this cycle to start. Oh well hope it flashes tomorrow. I'm confused though as I have started noticing a little ewcm which usually accompanies the flashing faces. I'm going to rely more on that and just continue dtd every night

Twinkletoes85 · 16/06/2020 11:25

@Fifol I got two blanks in a row but I started noticing ewcm and got really emotional yesterday. Got my flashing smiley today, hopefully yours will come tomorrow?

It's such a little thing but I was so pleased that I got the first smiley the day I'd been expecting it. Feel like I've learnt something

OP posts:
Fifol · 16/06/2020 11:38

@Twinkletoes85 hope so as I was so sure it would be today!

It will be interesting to see what happens as i normally get the static smiley 4 or 5 days after noticing ewcm so hope I'll be able to predict it too!

Tink2019 · 16/06/2020 11:49

@Seafrontsky I’d love to know more about your fertility massage lady - apologies if you’ve shared this earlier in the thread. I’ve been looking into Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture as a more natural option (depending on what our fertility test results say), so would be good to add massage to the mix! x

Twinkletoes85 · 16/06/2020 11:54

@Fifol fingers crossed it happens as you've predicted. Makes you feel you're a bit more in control then doesn't it?

My OH twigged I'd got my flashing smiley when I offered to make him a brew instead of just passing him my mug when he got up 😂

OP posts:
Missgoldilocks · 16/06/2020 12:17

@Twinkletoes85 FF is really good, if you enter a peak opk though if I recall it says you'll ovulate the next day, then if you do your temps too depending on those it'll recalculate. It needs to see 3high temps in a row to confirm ovulation even if you had a positive opk, I think it will change to the temps as its more accurate so log it all :) I haven't used it in a while I can't be assed anymore 😂

Twinkletoes85 · 16/06/2020 12:26

@Missgoldilocks I've been temping as well but sporadically. I thought I had a two decimal place but it's only one. I still noticed an obvious increase today though so hopefully FF will note that.

OP posts:
Missgoldilocks · 16/06/2020 12:36

@Twinkletoes85 it sounds crazy but you should temp vaginally. I was doing mouth readings and I didn't see much of a jump but when I did it vaginally it was by a lot!

Seafrontsky · 16/06/2020 12:41

@Tink2019 sure I'll link to her site. Shes been doing virtual sessions which obviously dont have massage but shes a trained nutritionist and approaches it in a very problem solving way. Weve solved my thrush, improved my diet, realigned my womb (!) and found a thyroid issue. I have found her so informative and useful. I would highly recommend. Also I've been having acupuncture (pre covid) which has been amazing for regulating my cycle, reducing numbness from my csection scar and also increased my BBT by 0.3 degrees. I have found both these so much more proactive and actually feel more fertile than traditional medicine which has just told me 'have a laparoscopy then its straight to IVF because you are 38'. I have 2 kids and dont want the stress of IVF and dont actually think theres anything wrong with me, so I'm preferring the holistic approach.

Swifty2 · 16/06/2020 12:43

Hi ladies, apologies if this is TMI but I'm getting really annoyed now so need some advice 😂 I'm having a super long cycle for me (currently cd43 and 15dpo) I'm definitely not pregnant (Sad) and I have been spotting consistently for the last 7 days. It's usually very dark brown/black although it is starting to look a bit more like my usual start of AF (dark red) but it's not enough for a pad or a tampon but is there every time I wipe (hence the tmi!). What the F does it mean?! Has anybody had this before? I feel like I've been waiting for AF for ages and it's driving me mad!

Twinkletoes85 · 16/06/2020 12:45

@Missgoldilocks I'll keep that in mind! I had a dip to 36.1 yesterday then up to 36.4 today. Before af I get closer to 37 then it tends to drop back down to 36.4/5 and stays around there till ov. I'm hoping that's how it'll continue and I can see a proper pattern if I stick to every day now
