Hi @Tink2019 welcome! All sounds very similar to me! 34, ttc our first and on cycle 10! Although my periods are stable between 24-26 days. And I have 10 ppl around me giving birth between July and December. Yes 10 i hear you cry 😂 About 5 I'm close to tho, one being my sister, two are really good mates, and the others are work colleagues and husbands mates wives. We have a private fb group too if you want to join that? @MrsCOR can share the link if you wanted to join.
Hi @Plaw hopefully you get there soon! Wishing you the best of luck 🍀
I've cried twice today @Twinkletoes85 and I'm due to ov at the weekend. I think mines the realisation that I'm now cycle 10 and nearly 10 months in to this ttc malarkey. Feeling deflated even tho I was feeling upbeat a couple days ago. I find my emotions are up n down a lot these days!
Hope it all clears up soon for you @Aokbaby, never nice that.

gypsywater · 15/06/2020 17:57

@Aokbaby Oh shit, I didnt know the tablet wasnt safe Shock Literally took it at 8 DPO Confused

Tilly1403 · 15/06/2020 18:05

@Tink2019 welcome! It certainly is a really supportive group of ladies. It sounds like me you and @notyetamumbuttrying are all in the same boat, 34, TTC #1 month 10. I've also got lots of pregnancies around me and it can tough. That's why I think it's so helpful to find a group of ladies like this all going through the same sorts of experiences together

Tink2019 · 15/06/2020 18:18

Ah @Tilly1403 and @notyetamumbuttrying as much as I’d love you not to be in the same boat as me it’s so nice to hear from other people going through the same stuff. Nearly all my close friends have just fallen pregnant, have children or are about to give birth and I’m finding it really hard to talk about how I’m feeling with any of them. My husband is amazing, but it’s not the same as talking with your girls.

Have either of you looked at getting fertility tests? I felt a bit ridiculous not waiting for a year to be honest, but we’ve not been safe in the past and nothing happened then either x

notyetamumbuttrying · 15/06/2020 18:19

Couldn't agree more @Tilly1403!! I was 33 when I started this and thought I'd be pregnant by 34. I have little milestones in my head about getting pregnancy before this and that. For example if it works this month I'll give birth in March, before I turn 35 (just). Last month it was, ooh I can announce it on our one year wedding anniversary and so on. Don't know why I do it to myself! 😫

notyetamumbuttrying · 15/06/2020 18:21

If you've been off contraception longer than a year @Tink2019 defo get booked in! I called my docs but they won't see me before the year mark. Wish I'd bloody lied now lol!

Tink2019 · 15/06/2020 18:31

@notyetamumbuttrying I’ve not been on the pill for over seven years now - miss the regular periods but that’s about it, they seemed to really play havoc with me! Drs we’re actually really good, but they weren’t doing bloods when we spoke to them due to current situ so we’d already decided we’d go private if that was the case...not ideal but never mind! X

notyetamumbuttrying · 15/06/2020 18:35

Oh right @Tink2019 so when's your bloods at the private clinic? I'm really interested in this as it's something I've toyed with doing too. I think I'll see how my docs are when we get to month 11 as I'd hope they'd get me booked in, in anticipation for month 12.

Aokbaby · 15/06/2020 18:59

@notyetamumbuttrying thanks for your support! Omg I do that too, kept thinking I'd be pregnant by now and would tell DH on father's Day but no, don't know why we do it to ourselves😩

@gypsywater I wouldn't worry too much, one go (male) told me it was fine to take tablet form then the gp I was speaking to today (female) said pessary was better. I'm sure there's not that much of a difference so I wouldn't be too worried.

This is a bit of a taboo subject but I'm just going to throw it out there....has any of you had an sti in the past? I'll start with my story.. so last year after numerous uti's a sample showed up that I had Chlamydia. I nearly died. I had full screening at a routine smear just after myself and my expartner broke up and all was clear so I got it from my now husband who didn't know he had it. Anywhoo long story short I'd say I my have had it for approx 2 years before I noticed any symptoms and quickly got it cleared up with antibiotics, DH did the same. Now I am panicking like crazy thinking I've done some long term fertility damage, like our.

Just wondering if anyone else had similar experiences and sorry for storytime🙈

Aokbaby · 15/06/2020 19:00

*pid damage

Plaw · 15/06/2020 19:09

@KK251289 Good question! 😀My cycles are quite irregular and long but as far as my apps and opks show, I ovulated Saturday. It’s hard having such irregular cycles, a lot of waiting around!

@Hoping41 @Aokbaby & @notyetamumbuttrying
Thanks for the friendly welcome! 😀

@Twinkletoes85 Thanks so much, he was 2 in April! Time has flown!

Twinkletoes85 · 15/06/2020 19:15

@Aokbaby if you mention it to the gp can they check to see if it affected you?

Welcome @Tink2019 you've found the right group. It's so nice to have other ladies to talk too that are in the same position as not many people understand.

@notyetamumbuttrying I swear I plan 'announcements' I'm due AF on 26th June, my brain has told me that im off work that day I'll get a BFP and I can visit my mum, dad and OH parents in their gardens and tell them. Then the following month I'd be due AF on 24th July, could do an early test on 21st on my OH 31st birthday. Realistically neither of those will happen....

notyetamumbuttrying · 15/06/2020 19:29

Yeah I was hoping to tell my dad on the 11th which was his bday but my period came two days early instead 😆 @Aokbaby can't help with your story as fortunately never had an sti before, which shocks me tbh!! It can affect fertility but as you got it cleared up hopefully no long term damage. If You're worried tho, I'm sure docs would see you to investigate. Tell them you're ttc etc.

Oh phew I'm not the only one then @KK251289!! What are our brains like!? Suppose it's only natural to want to share good news with loved ones. We're clearly all planners too, which doesn't help ttc cos you can't really plan for it unless you're one of the lucky few that fall first time! Grrr to them 😂 I know a few too!

gypsywater · 15/06/2020 19:46

@Aokbaby I havent had an STI myself (god knows how, havent always been careful!) but a few of my friends have had chlamydia at certain points and they all conceived no problems (not straight away but didnt need any fertility treatments or anything) :)

Fifol · 15/06/2020 19:49

@KK251289 @notyetamumbuttrying I always do that from planning the day I'll get my bfp, to when I'll tell different people to what season it will be when I have a small bump and a bigger bump to when sill I have the baby and what else might be happening around then! If we conceive this cycle I'll have it by my birthday in March which would be wonderful

@Aokbaby no I haven't had anything thankfully but I'm sure you could have further investigation if you're really worried?

Someone mentioned earlier about not being safe and nothing happening, I have worried about that too. I've definitely not been safe in the past pre hubby and never had a 'scare'. But then I think because the timing is so important its perfectly ok to have had a few unsafe times and still missed it! Seeing as we are timing things perfectly now and it hasn't happened yet!

I'm on cd 12 now and will probably ovulate in about a week so on feeling so so hopeful and I'm being really positive and doing my affirmations every day.

Swifty2 · 15/06/2020 19:55

@Aokbaby I had HPV which can be contracted sexually or by "skin to skin" contact. It's apparently the most common STI and can't always be prevented by wearing a condom. It apparently clears itself up and they don't prescribe anything for it but I do worry about whether it might have affected my fertility, they found it as cells on my cervix during a smear

DSC1 · 15/06/2020 19:57

So just as I was letting my mind wonder and start to think maybe this is going to be my month, just been to the toilet and am spotting so pretty sure AF is on her way.
Every month I always think maybe I should stop with the OPKs and give myself a break from making TTC the main focus of each and every month but then I think I will get so stressed out just not knowing when my peak is that it’s just better to test.

@Plaw welcome to the group. I am 35 (36 in 3 weeks) and also TTC #2 - this is cycle 10. Conceived my LG quickly so never thought I would find it difficult.

@notyetamumbuttrying @KK251289 I know what you mean about dates... this month would have been great to have special news and I have my wedding anniversary, DH bday and my bday all within the next few weeks. Oh well, I suppose lots of good reasons for DTD!

gypsywater · 15/06/2020 19:58

@Swifty2 Oh I have had that, oooops, didnt even count that Grin I've had quite a lot of treatments on the cervix due to that and every doctor I've seen said it really doesnt affect fertility, only issue can be an increased risk of premature labour so they may need to put a stitch in if needed if the cervix is short (I think this is only if have had a few LLETZ type treatments)

Tink2019 · 15/06/2020 20:20

@notyetamumbuttrying I had my bloods last week, think they reopened beginning of June. Should get the results back this week. Definitely worth holding out if you can - but it’s an option if like us you couldn’t hold out!

@gypsywater that’s good to hear HPV doesn’t affect fertility, I’ve had HPV with abnormal cells twice...it made me feel better knowing you can get it skin to skin so technically not an STI, right?! 🙈

gypsywater · 15/06/2020 20:21

@Tink2019 Exactly! Grin

introv3rt · 15/06/2020 20:22

Omg I always do the dates thing!! It started at 'we could announce it Christmas day I might have had a scan by then' then ooo maybe DPs Dad in Feb, or mothers day, etc etc.

We had a holiday booked for last week for Benidorm (obvs cancelled) but for months I was like 'ooh 'ah I might be past the point where you cant fly', to ' maybe i'll have a bump by then, wont be able to drink etc'

Omg why do we do this 🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂

introv3rt · 15/06/2020 20:24

Should have said 'DPs dad Birthday in feb'!

MrsCOR · 15/06/2020 20:26

Hi everyone - sorry I have been a bit quiet! Had a busy couple of days and back to work today. Struggling to stay focused and losing all motivation to do anything now, I kept telling myself I was going to be positive but I just don't feel it! I just know that this is going to be another cycle that ends in another bfn, and I almost can't be bothered to go through all of it again. Doesn't help that everyone keeps asking about SIL and whether there is baby news, including my parents. I wish they asked about me and how I am doing - it almost feels worse being asked about someone else's pregnancy.

Anyway, enough ranting for today! Welcome to anyone who has just joined! We do have a private Facebook group, so if you would like to join please let me know! I am trying to do a #MotivationMorning post every day (although I have only managed 2 so far lol!). It's just nice to have a chat with people in a similar boat, it definitely takes the pressure off and I feel less stressed being part of this group of incredible women!

This is now cycle 8 for us ttc baby #1 and I am on CD6. Start OPK testing tomorrow and I have been doing my BBT tracking too! Also due to go shopping so 100 pineapples and grapefruits are on my list 🤣
