Hi everyone and welcome to all the newbies. Sorry I haven't had a chance to post recently.
@notyetamumbuttrying @MrsCOR so disappointing about the bfns. It's so frustrating. Have a glass of wine and treat yourselves to something nice.

I'm only CD10 here, but feel like I'm already out this cycle. I have had peak OPK and pain on right side which means I'm likely to ovulate this eve or tomorrow. So sick of this early ovulation. It makes conceiving unlikely as egg will be too immature.

MrsCOR · 10/06/2020 13:09

Thanks everyone for your kind words! I'm not feeling too bad about it actually, not like me really as I usually throw myself a pity party lol 😂

Feeling optimistic about the next cycle, who knows. Maybe it will be our month! Just going to try to be more positive! But some wine sounds great tonight 😂

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/06/2020 13:16

Thanks @Nat4392! I'm the same re lying to the docs and will say 12 cycles so that I can be seen sooner too. I remember that we both have short cycles. I had short LP this month, wondering if it was the Angus!?
Thanks @Posy1! Now have Af as well so shit day all round for me lol! Gave up booze for June so can't even enjoy that wine 😫 I will eat all the chocolate I can find tho lol!
I ovulate early too and cd11 is within good range for a mature egg, it's anything cd10 and before that's considered early. I fluctuate between cd10 and cd12, but taking Angus castus ensured it was cd12 this month but my luteal phase shortened to 12 days instead of my usual 14 so not sure whether that was the Angus or not as stopped taking it whilst in my tww.

Hoping41 · 10/06/2020 13:25

Yes, I think the dr asked to make sure you definitely covered ov rather than just thought you had covered it. There's just so much about this that I didn't know before.
I'm glad to hear everyone with af is feeling ok this month - perhaps the support of this lovely group. I've still got my fingers crossed for those coming up to testing. 🤞

Posy1 · 10/06/2020 13:35

@notyetamumbuttrying I've been trying to cut down on chocolate as I'm a serious sugar addict, but have just consoled myself with some delicious orange chocolate 😂😂. It will help temporarily.
Just watched a video on early ovulation and it said that the most common cause is oestrogen dominance, but I don't have any of the other symptoms of that such as heavy periods etc. My periods are usually very light. Do you have heavy periods? I know it is possible to conceive when you ovulate on day 11, but it does make it more difficult unfortunately.
Seems weird that the Agnus shortened your luteal phase! I'm tempted to try it, but I'm a bit wary. I'm spending a fortune trying to improve egg quality, so was hoping that would help, but doesn't look like it has. There seems to be very info in general about early ovulation and how to help.

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/06/2020 13:41

@Posy1 highly annoying isn't it! My periods are medium day 1, heavy day 2 and then bk to medium on day 3 and light days 4 and 5. The Angus made them really light actually!
Are you taking coQ10 for your eggs? I am. Seemingly making no difference as you say though!

Posy1 · 10/06/2020 13:48

@notyetamumbuttrying pic of my current supplements! Ridiculous at this stage.
Been reading, marijuana use, increased BMI and recent use of the pill can lengthen follicular phase. Not sure we should try any of those tactics though. 😂😂

Nat4392 · 10/06/2020 14:03

@notyetamumbuttrying that’s strange about your LP. Agnus is meant to increase it, although mine was unaffected both months I used it and stayed at 11 days. As long as it doesn’t go below 10 I believe it’s not too much of a problem

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/06/2020 15:26

Nice haul @Posy1!
My BMI has prop gone up in lockdown in fairness. I'm pretty lardy these days! Can't say any of the others is me tho. 😂
Thanks @Nat4392, was just so weird. Really caught me off guard coming today! Will use it again this cycle and see what next month brings...

Twinkletoes85 · 10/06/2020 18:17

Hello to anyone new, I've tried to catch up on what I've missed but it's been busy.

My worry about if I hit 12 months is I've been in the depo and they say coming off that expect 12 - 18 months to fall on and they might just tell me to come back later

OP posts:
Hoping41 · 10/06/2020 18:31

@twinkletoes85 I didn't know the depo affected your fertility until being on here - to be fair, I didn't know the pill that I spent many years on did either. Did they tell you that before you went on it? My friend is on it and I know she'd love a baby. I wonder if she knows how hard it could be?

Who was it that recommended period power? I've downloaded it free on audible - I have Amazon prime - and listened to the first part while out for my walk. She's got a great way of telling the info. I loved her celebrity counterparts for the hormones!!

Twinkletoes85 · 10/06/2020 19:08

@Hoping41 it might have been mentioned briefly but it definitely wasn't discussed in as much detail as it should have been. I'm not sure I wouldn't have chosen to go back on it if I'd realised.

The main reason I did is because I moved from north to West Yorkshire and switched drs so when my pill had renewed they switched me from marvelon (I think) to one that was supposed to be exactly the same but not a brand. I had horrible vaginal dryness (sorry tmi) from it. So I was adamant I wasn't going back on the pill as I'd moved round a few before finding marvelon and they weren't going to give me that.

We had agreed I'd have one more depo before coming off and when I went I almost walked out I had such a horrible feeling about it and almost didn't get it and I've been worried ever since that is housing have had that last one.

Aokbaby · 10/06/2020 19:35

There's an Irish gp that I follow and she says that being on the pill has no impact on fertility whatsoever and it is more to do with age that makes conceiving difficult for some. Apparently you're meant to start having children at age 21/22 can you imagine, I was just a child myself lol

Swifty2 · 10/06/2020 20:00

Has anyone been taking aspirin?! I've just read that a daily low dose of aspirin may boost chances of conception but this is the first I've ever heard of it!

Nat4392 · 10/06/2020 20:07

@Swifty2 I’ve never heard that. You’d think as a blood thinner it’d decrease your chances 🤷🏻‍♀️ Might have a look into though as it’s cheap and easy to get hold of!

Swifty2 · 10/06/2020 20:08

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.livescience.com/amp/57825-aspirin-pregnancy-chances.html

Here's the article I read for those interested!

@Nat4392 I thought that too! It's definitely worth considering given the price I agree!

PinkFlamingoGirl · 10/06/2020 20:23

I asked my doctor how far in advance I should come off the pill if I was thinking of starting a family and she told me it didn't matter. Just to come off when we were ready to try. I wished I'd researched more as I don't believe it's that easy!! Maybe for some...a bit like falling pg in month one or two, lucky sods.

Never heard of using asprin...

Hoping41 · 10/06/2020 20:33

@twinkletoes85 yeah, it's interesting, isn't it. Obviously when going on birth control, trying for a baby is the last thing we're thinking about. Hopefully it's all out of your system now.
Interesting that the dr said to come off the pill whenever as I'm sure I've read 3-6 months for things to get back to normal . . .

That's a really interesting article on aspirin, I'm sure I saw a thread on here where they were all taking aspirin and cough medicine every day. There's an ingredient in dry cough medicine that increases cm apparently.

Fifol · 10/06/2020 20:40

Yeah I've definitely read that the pill doesn't affect fertility. I also follow a couple of fertility people who say the same that if you're on the pill for 15 years, it's the 15 years that affects fertility rather than the pill itself. @Aokbaby is it thefertilityhack you follow? Shes amazing!

Having said that, when I came off the pill I felt things I hadn't felt before around af which I assume was the hormones but I didnt notice ewcm ever until 3 or 4 months ago so I can only assume it was down to that. Probably some people are lucky and for others maybe it takes a few months!

Twinkletoes85 · 10/06/2020 20:41

@Hoping41 it's something worth mentioning to your friend. I had my last depo in September 19 so it ran out in Nov 19 but my first period after wasn't until Feb 20. I'm pretty certain I ov'd that cycle due to cm etc but I didn't know until my period came (it's the wonky time I've been thrilled to see it). But on here I read a lot about women who's periods didn't come back for a year or sometimes longer which isn't abnormal for depo.

Hoping41 · 10/06/2020 20:46

@twinkletoes85 now to try and drop it into conversation without saying why I know!! 😂

Yes, age must be a huge factor. I have been watching teen mom (sorry!) during lockdown and they all seem to get pregnant first month every time!

Aokbaby · 10/06/2020 21:22

@Fifol yea and Dr Doireann O'Leary, she brill too!!

Aokbaby · 10/06/2020 21:25

@Fifol I'm the same in terms of ewcm, it seemed to be more present when I was on pill, also af seemed heavier when on pill too. That changed about 2 cycles ago when I started to notice ewcm and af was heavier since coming off pill. It's so hard to know.

I've noticed hip and groin pain this month which is kind of freaking me out, only since af finished, anyone else ever had this?

Twinkletoes85 · 10/06/2020 22:06

@Hoping41 saw it on tv? There's load of baby programmes one of themselves bound to have mentioned it.

Haha I love teen mom, they drive me barmy but it's addictive crap tv

OP posts:
Twinkletoes85 · 10/06/2020 22:09

@Aokbaby I had hip, groin and knee pain last month about a week before af. I was 5 days late that month too but bfn when I tested so don't think it was a chemical.

I put it down to my body maybe still going back to normal but I really don't know
