I’ve just ordered some evening primrose oil too. Hopefully that might make a difference!

Kitttycatt · 10/06/2020 09:45

@Aokbaby No, but I have been reading up on pcos and i'm like hmm maybe I have that for no real reason! I am going to the fertility clinic on Monday so I will get some answers soon I hope.

Still no AF!! I've been using the internet cheapies and then Clear Blue tests (normal and digital), I will test again tomorrow morning as I will be a week late then. I don't think i'm PG apart from large heavy breasts - could be that my hormones are messed up this month, the taking charge of your fertility book mentions benign cysts could be to blame, they usually disappear on their own.

I've been so tempted to get an AVA braclet for a while, when I mentioned it to OH last month he was like stop throwing money at it... but I still want one, I might have a look on ebay.

Fifol · 10/06/2020 09:52

Hi all sorry @MrsCOR and @notyetamumbuttrying about the bfns. It's so crap

Agree with you all, we definitely take the burden of it. I tell hubby when the fertile window is but I'm not too specific as he feels too much pressure! Can't blame them too much for not understanding it all, I didnt understand it myself for the first few months of ttc!!

I'm feeling very excited for this cycle, I'll probably not start opks for a few more days as I'm cd7 now.

Someone mentioned positive affirmations, they are helping me feel more positive. I go though a few and say them put loud every day and if I feel any negative thoughts coming in I get out my affirmations so I can replace those thoughts! Can't hurt anyway

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/06/2020 09:57

Thanks @Swifty2! How you getting on?
Yay to entering fw soon @Twinkletoes85! The only fun part of ttc but even that gets tedious lol!
Thanks @Nat4392 yeah that's how I feel too. Now to get Dh to kick smoking again 😫 he picked it back up at the start of lockdown and now smokes 3/4 a day. I know it's not much but it's still not good!
Thanks @Fifol good going with the positive affirmations! I need to start doing them too, defo can't hurt!

Nat4392 · 10/06/2020 09:58

I’ve always told DH when the fertile window is and he’s said how stressed out it makes him feel so he’s asked me not to tell him this month. Although I’m sure it’ll be fairly obvious when I try jumping on him everyday next week 🙈

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/06/2020 10:21

Yep, dead giveaway isn't it 😂 @Nat4392 mine knows too but I don't always tell him ov day. Sometimes I have to if I don't think he's playing ball lol!

Seafrontsky · 10/06/2020 10:25

Sorry for your BFN @MrsCOR and @notyetamumbuttrying. Its crap. Hope you're both doing ok

Fifol · 10/06/2020 10:33

@notyetamumbuttrying @Nat4392 definitely when you go from zero to every day it's a bit suss! We did every second day for first few days and then like 6 in a row the last couple of cycles, but going to every second day this time. Maybe 2 or 3 in a row around the peak days but every day generally is just too much!

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/06/2020 10:38

Yep far too much @Fifol! The most we've ever managed is 3 days in a row lol 🙈
Thanks @Seafrontsky it is crap but so bloody used to it now lol! Hope you're doing well.

MummyOfZog · 10/06/2020 10:38

@Nat4392 I don't tell DH anymore when fertile week is either! It's kind of the one benefit of having long irregular cycles - my fertile 'week' lasts about 2 weeks as you never know if my cycle is going to be a 31 day cycle or almost 40 days so the window of potential ov is quite large! As a result, it doesn't look as suspect when I start jumping him as it ends up being 2+ weeks of it!

I FINALLY(!) got a +OPK/Peak OPK this morning - Whooop! We didn't DTD last night, but will jump DH today when he gets back from work and DS is tucked up in bed. We DTD Fri, Sun and Mon and coupled with tonight's sesh and 'one for luck' tomorrow I'm hoping that we should be covered! Then after that I'm having a rest lol!

Aokbaby · 10/06/2020 10:46

Lol @mummyofzog one for luck-brilliant!! Sending good vibes

Quiptic · 10/06/2020 11:06

Hi all. Hope it’s ok if I join. This seems like a really supportive group.

I’m 36 and TTC #1. We’ve been trying since September last year.

Saw the GP shortly before lockdown who sent me for blood tests and a scan but appointments were cancelled due to Covid. It’s frustrating as no idea when things will start booking again. Anyone else in the same position?

AnxiousAnnie86 · 10/06/2020 11:14

@mummyofzog yaaay!! Good luck!!!!! What CD are you? Mines still a barely visible line :( 16dpo

KK251289 · 10/06/2020 11:22

Welcome @Quiptic I've been trying since September too, I only turned 30 at xmas so have to wait for a couple of months, for GP appointments! Hopefully all appointments for you will be back up soon.

I might try next month not to tell OH when I ovulate and just try DTD every 2nd day

Kitttycatt · 10/06/2020 11:38

Welcome @Quiptic I'm in a similar position to you, I'm 35, trying since October and went for blood tests before lockdown and was referred to the fertility clinic which got postposned. I was lucky enough to receive another appointment date which is on Monday. I will let you know how I get on.

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/06/2020 11:49

Hi @Quiptic welcome! It is a lovely group of girls here! Similar as well, came off the pill in sept, got periods back in Oct. 34 so doctors won't see me yet 😫 just came on this morning so cycle 10 next as I have short periods. I'm going to call the doctors again in August when it'll be 11 months and beg them to get us started. I need to know if anything is wrong now, the wait is agonising!

notyetamumbuttrying · 10/06/2020 11:49

Short cycles, not periods*

Fifol · 10/06/2020 11:51

Welcome @Quiptic, this is a very supportive group!

@MummyOfZog oh that's great enjoy 😉

@AnxiousAnnie86 a barely visible bfp? Sorry it's hard to keep up sometimes, we're a very active group!

Fifol · 10/06/2020 11:53

This might be a strange q but how would the doctor know if it's been a year? Has anyone blended the truth to get tested quicker?!

If you go privately do you still need to wait a year?

Nat4392 · 10/06/2020 12:07

I’m going to go after 12 cycles. It technically won’t be 12 months as I have short cycles (will be more like 10 months) but people with normal/longer cycles will have had just as many tries so I’m going then. I’m just going to word it like “we’ve been trying for 12 cycles now”. I can’t lie to save my life so feel this is the best way to go for me lol
@notyetamumbuttrying sorry to hear AF has arrived earlier than expected. Welcome to the unfortunate double figure cycle club! 👎🏼

gypsywater · 10/06/2020 12:16

I think privately will test you whenever you like!

Hoping41 · 10/06/2020 12:28

Welcome quiptic. You seen to be in a similar position to lots of us.
@fifol my dr just asked and I said yes. It's only 6 months for us always but she didn't ask too much. She asked if we'd been trying regularly throughout the cycle, 2-3 times a week, not just when I thought it was an important time. To be honest, I kind of wished she had asked more or just told me more shining I didn't know. Until this month and reading smep, I thought the opk stick told you you were ovulating (totally my fault) so now wonder if I missed opportunities by having a rest too soon. I was sure I'd read to dtd for 3 days up to +opk but have now found out it's 3 days from +opk. What a minefield this is!

MummyOfZog · 10/06/2020 12:37

@AnxiousAnnie86 I'm CD21 so only just got a positive OPK. I tend to Ov anywhere between CD19-CD27 depending on whether I'm in for a long cycle or not.

Did you say visible line at DPO?! Is this on a preg test? If so how exciting!!!

gypsywater · 10/06/2020 12:41

That's interesting GPs may ask if have been DTD 2-3 times a week throughout the cycle. I havent been! Maybe it's not worth having the tests if havent been doing that, I dont know!

Nat4392 · 10/06/2020 12:53

We definitely don’t DTD every 2-3 days throughout the cycle. In the fertile week we do it as much as we can but during the TWW we’re lucky if we do it once a week. Once the fertile week is over I can’t be arsed anymore! I think I’d just say we regularly DTD the whole month anyway as I wouldn’t want anything stopping us going further
