@mrsCOR I'm not on fb :(

@MummyOfZog I have irregular cycles but I'm not sure why, I always say it makes it so so much harder and makes the wait so much longer, I'm CD15 currently, hoping OV is on way as I'm getting the usual pressure pain, but possibly not.... last three months I had OV, CD17, CD32 and CD26!!!!

How do you test for ovulation? Temping etc, I had a massive temp drop this morn, does that normally mean OV is due? I can't rely on app to tell me as its rarely right, I also started taking soy isoflavones this month so hoping it brings it forward x

@notyetamumbuttrying I’ve been thinking about that and I don’t think I’ll use it. It’s not made a difference and I’d like to have 2 last natural cycles before seeing GP after cycle 12 so they have a good picture of what I’m like usually.

MrsCOR · 09/06/2020 13:40

@AnxiousAnnie86 no worries - I will still be posting on here too! Not everyone has it or wants to join and that's fine!

I have regular cycles between 26-29 days (mainly 27 days though). It must be so much harder not having any pattern to follow and having to totally rely on opks/bbt.

Looking at your chart I would say that perhaps ovulation is about to happen. Once it has happened, you should see a spike in temperature in a single day. I've attached one of my old charts so you can see. I also use OPKs, but I know they don't work for everyone. Have you tried them?

jessmcg · 09/06/2020 13:41

@Tilly1403 @MrsCOR @Nat4392 (and others! This thread is so busy im sorry If I left ppl off!) I am in a similar position to you. My close friend and I started TTC around the same time as each other, I think she started one month before me. I remember we were at a wedding and she said she thought she was pregnant and I even said to her ‘don’t get your hopes up as it can take ages’ and it turns out she was pregnant! We then started the following month and no joy. Her daughter is 2 months old now. I’ve found it so hard. I’ve had a couple of other people close to me too but I’ve thankfully not told them we are trying which is saving me from the pain of them knowing and feeling uncomfortable about it as they bang on about how annoying it is being pregnant etc. It’s so bloody hard!!!! Even some girls I know who have treated their bodies terribly over the years (I’m no angel but I’ve been more sensible than them - it’s all relative!) are pregnant now. It made me so furious I’ve had to unfollow them on social media. I’m so ashamed of these ugly emotions I’m feeling!!

Fifol · 09/06/2020 13:43

I've joined the FB group too but will def be chatting on here.

I agree it's so hard when others are pregnant. My sister in law on hubby side had a 3 month old and I've been insanely jealous since she first got pregnant! They've now moved their wedding which was supposed to happen in august 2021 and if she gets pregnant again before me I'll be raging!

One of my best friends is due in October and she has been so sensitive about the topic, even though I've never said anything to her or that group about ttc. Which makes me think she had a tough journey too because shes so aware of not talking about it. Have to say I'm delighted for her but it does still give a little pang of envy or something!

notyetamumbuttrying · 09/06/2020 13:45

Yeah I know what you mean @MrsCOR!
That makes sense @Nat4392. Af due on Friday and might test tomorrow, still deciding.
It sucks doesn't it @jessmcg but we'll get there! We have to 🥺

MrsCOR · 09/06/2020 13:46

@AnxiousAnnie86 would help if I actually attached the chart - oops lol!!!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 09/06/2020 14:01

@mrsCOR yeah I use clear blue advanced digital ones and cheapies too! Plus bbt 🤣🤣🤣 I think I normally get a dip before I ovulate but tests are completely blank still x

MrsCOR · 09/06/2020 14:14

@AnxiousAnnie86 - I use the advanced digital too and think it was much better than the cheapie ones I used before. I like that it highlights more days of fertility and not just right before ovulation.

I am going to pick up bbt again next month and use both methods to confirm when ovulation actually happens. Mainly because the cycle chart I posted to show you I apparently was "2 days late" according to Flo. However, I think ovulation actually happened on the second dip (5th I believe on the chart) which would explain the late period when I am never really late. So annoying!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 09/06/2020 14:20

@MrsCOR yeah I know what you mean it's good to have it confirmed! I like seeing the increase after ovulation! However this month I'm tempted to stop after it's confirmed, I think it can become another thing to obsess about.....

I'm looking to get ovusense for next month! Has anyone here tried it? I like to try something different every month as it just makes me feel a little better and a little hopeful every month.... as silly as that sounds...... x

Twinkletoes85 · 09/06/2020 14:25

@AnxiousAnnie86 I've been looking at ovusense for a while but I keep putting off taking the plunge and getting it.

I read the reviews (trustpilot I think I used) and it gets reasonable reviews. The bad ones seem to be customer service related rather than it not doing what it says. I'm keeping it in the back of my mind to try. If you do get it let us know how you get on!

One hopefully positive thing about ttc is it's finally motivated me to try take some action about some rubbish at work I've been dealing with. I'm hoping getting it sorted and removing some of the stress from that might help.

If nothing else with all the steps we all take we will at least be healthier people for this (but hopefully healthy mums!)

MrsCOR · 09/06/2020 14:28

@AnxiousAnnie86 I've heard of it and I am interested to use it because it does the bbt & opk stuff for you in one. Only issue is that it is £99 for 2 months/£199 for 12 and I don't spend anywhere near that on OPKs. I think if I reach 10 months, I may try it for the last 2 cycles before hitting that all-important 1 year mark. I hope I don't get to that point though!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 09/06/2020 14:41

@Twinkletoes85 @MrsCOR yeah the reason why I considered it was I thought I may be able to relax a bit more, I don't sleep well thinking oh must take temp at set time etc, I spend a fortune on clear blue advanced as well! Think they have an offer on now! X

AnxiousAnnie86 · 09/06/2020 14:42

@MrsCOR yeah this being my twelfth cycle feels like a real bummer for me :( I'm just trying to tell myself it's not a year as we had a Mc, so took a few months after that to get ovulation back, so if you count after that as starting again this will be my sixth month..:: x

MrsCOR · 09/06/2020 14:48

@AnxiousAnnie86 that's a very good point that I hadn't thought of! Where do you order them from? I purchased mine on Amazon.

So sorry about your mc Sad but there is a silver lining as after a mc you are significantly less likely to have another and go on to have a healthy pregnancy within the next year. So fingers crossed you'll have a bfp soon!

gypsywater · 09/06/2020 14:48

Just checked out Ovusense...it looks really good! I assume you wear the thingy every night and then it does all the recording and calculations for you?

AnxiousAnnie86 · 09/06/2020 14:50

@mrsCOR the clear blue advanced? I get them from a website called dr fertility, they sometimes have offers on....

Yeah from what I understand, you use it every night and then it records everything for you, I would just love to take some of the stress away! Feel like I've constantly got a thermometer in my mouth and peeing on sticks!! X

MrsCOR · 09/06/2020 14:51

Just so everyone knows on here too - I have put the group on FB as private now, so if you'd like to join just let me know!

MrsCOR · 09/06/2020 14:53

@gypsywater yep you use it every night and it does it all for you! It would definitely remove a lot of stress of taking bbt at certain times and peeing on so many sticks lol!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 09/06/2020 15:00

@gypsywater how does it predict ovulation in place of opks? I'd be so scared of letting them go 😂

gypsywater · 09/06/2020 15:02

So no need to pee on sticks at all? I'm thinking of ordering it. Early birthday present for myself HmmShockEnvy

MummyOfZog · 09/06/2020 15:10

@AnxiousAnnie86 Sorry only just seen your reply - busy day at work! I track Ov by using Clearblue Fertility Monitor which basically means I do an OPK every day from day 8 until it gets a peak. I'm in the habit of it now and just do it as soon as I wake up (it needs FMU) - I used it when I fell pg with DS so really hoping it'll work again. This is my first month using it whilst ttc#2. This month I also have been using Ava, which takes my temp and some other measurements (www.avawomen.com/) - they are pricey but I picked this up from ebay a lot cheaper. Takes all the stress out of temping, as I find my sleep is pretty distrurbed so taking temp with regular bbt thermometer in the morning isn't accurate. The idea is I wouldn't need to use OPKs as the Ava will calculate for me, but they say the first month it's just getting to know your cycle so I wanted to use OPKs this month as I don't feel 100% confident relying on Ava yet until it's tracked a whole cycle.

I just want Ov to hurry the hell up! I feel like I can survive the TWW...it's the waiting for Ov I can't stand!

skittles2003 · 09/06/2020 15:10

Does anyone else not use OPKs?! The idea sounds very tiring to me!

gypsywater · 09/06/2020 15:23

@Skittles2003 I havent used OPKs but need to do something different. This month is a committed every other day DTD situation then if nothing from this then next month will try something to test for ovulation! Drawn to the Ovusense for ease...
