Hey ladies!

Anyone with me ttc next month? I had my DS back in Feb 19 and we've now decided to try for baby #2.

I've been out and bought ovulation sticks, pregnancy tests and folic acid. I haven't been on Mumsnet in a long while and I've just checked the conception topic and I'm all excited again, it was such a great support platform for me the first time around!

@Running365 thanks, yes I think I'll see how the next couple of months pan out then make a decision xx

Running365 · 02/06/2020 12:59

@Newbie9 have you tried offering him milk from a cup/bottle in the night? You must be so exhausted from nearly 2 years of disturbed sleep. I'm sure whatever decision you make it'll be the right for you both, and plus a brother or sister for your little one will be much more fun for him in the long term!

Newbie9 · 02/06/2020 13:06

@Running365 actually we've been chatting about this, I'm working tues-thurs so I think from Thursday we are going to try a cup with milk before bed & daddy can do bedtime. I would start it before but I know he won't be happy so it'll give us 4 days before I'm back at work to make a strong start (!)
Then I guess he'll still wake in the night for milk so I'll let him breastfeed in the night until he's cracked the evenings & just do it gradually. We have been making small progress as he doesn't feed to sleep at night now, he'll have a feed but happily get in his cot bed with his bear and eventually goes up sleep! But yes I am shattered haha! X

Running365 · 02/06/2020 13:14

Bless you! It sounds like you have bought him great comfort though for all this time and although breastfeeding does have so many positives it can also become so restricting when they aren't showing any signs of stopping when you feel like it's time. That's great that he is beginning to be able to self settle at bedtime so fingers crossed the milk from daddy starts to work and your husband can enjoy doing bedtime too, and you can have a well deserved rest!! I'm sure night wake ups are harder to justify stopping though as if breastfeeding works to get them back to sleep quickly then why start messing!

Newbie9 · 02/06/2020 13:55

@Running365 thanks Hun, it's nice to have a bit of support with it we get mixed comments off folks - especially my parents!

I'm off to do a clear blue test now I've managed a 3 hour hold 🤞😬

Newbie9 · 02/06/2020 14:31

Sorry I'm putting such a lot on this thread, did a clear blue first thing it was negative but now I've got a leak fertility result!

@kate123cl haha 😂

Running365 · 02/06/2020 15:40

@Newbie9 exciting smiley!! What day of your cycle are you on? Did you say you've been tracking temp too? Hopefully all a good sign!

Newbie9 · 02/06/2020 15:44

@Running365 CD13 today, last month I didn't ovulate til day 28 and bled a week later so hoping it's a bit of a longer luteal phase this time 🤞🤞
Yes tracking my temp too, it was still low this morning so will see if it goes up higher tomorrow which it will if I ovulate today but maybe I'll ovulate tomorrow if I have a LH surge today
Not quite sure Smile

Clover1211 · 02/06/2020 16:22

@Newbie9 it's so exciting seeing that smiley face isn't it! It's amazing how quickly it can change.

AF arrived bang on time today for me so CD1 is here. And so it begins ... only got around a 20 day wait now until I should see a smiley face Grin haha lack of patience and a long cycle don't go well together!!

For now though, i'm off to find some carbs to eat Grin

Running365 · 02/06/2020 19:38

@Clover1211 great that your cycle has started when expected, hope your enjoying indulging in some treats!

@Newbie9 did you chart for your first pregnancy? I did for 2 months whilst TTC and found it so amazing to discover how much info our bodies really do give us. I'm sure you'll see a higher temp in the morning!

Newbie9 · 02/06/2020 20:06

@Clover1211 good luck next cycle it is exciting when you get that face!

@Running365 I did yes, but I fell pregnant as soon as I started charting so it didn't really give me an insight into my cycles. This month has got to be shorter as my ovulation is so much earlier
Are you bbt?

Newbie9 · 02/06/2020 20:07

@Running365 sorry I meant are you tracking temps now? It is fascinating isn't it!

Running365 · 02/06/2020 20:57

@Newbie9 not planning to just yet as trying to be chilled about it this time round...for the first month atleast as got too obsessed in just 2 months last time. Going to go off the fact that my cycles are regular, CM inspection (cringe) and regular DTD for the next few weeks but I'll probably be saying something else in a months time after buying all the vitamins for both of us whilst lying on the bed with my legs in the air as that's what worked last time! Haha!

Newbie9 · 02/06/2020 21:44

@Running365 good idea, hopefully it'll come naturally x

kate123cl · 04/06/2020 09:00

How's everyone doing? Seems my AF arrived 3 days ago and has now stopped completely. I used to have 3day periods until I had my little boy, I started having 5/6 day ones again and this is the first month I've had a 3 day one again?Confused slightly confused but not complaining!Grin

@kate123cl morning, how long was your cycle? Mine have fluctuated in length too I do think pregnancy affects things!!
I'm on cycle day 15 now, seems I ovulated day 13/14 which is in line with a much shorter cycle than last month. Last month I ovulated day 28!

Thunderpants5138 · 04/06/2020 10:04

Hi guys!
Hope you don't mind me jumping on here. I'm currently 25 and just starting TTC #1.
I was on nexplanon since being 16 but suddenly started having a period every other week. Prior to that it was usually 1 period every 3/4 months which only lasted 2/3 days. Went to doctors and had tests which we found out I had PCOS. So I switched to the Levest pill back in July last year. We have now made the decision to TTC as we are fully expecting it to take a long time.
I stopped the pill 29th April and had withdrawal bleed 2nd-6th May and just started first natural AF on 1st June. Shocked is an understatement for this as I've never been regular due to the PCOS (however I think the myo inositol I've been taking May have a part to play in that)
Wishing you all luck!!

kate123cl · 04/06/2020 10:27

Hi @Newbie9 I think it was 24 days! I also think pregnancy plays a partSmile how often are you using opks? X

kate123cl · 04/06/2020 10:29

Hi @Thunderpants5138 ! The more the merrierSmile I'm 21 so quite close in age. A few friends and family members of mine have PCOS, it does sound tough, hope you're ok. Our AFs arrived on the same day!! Wishing you luckSmile

Clover1211 · 04/06/2020 11:40

Morning all.

@kate123cl my period length changed too. Used to be around 7 days. Now, it barely seems to reach 5 days. Guessing things naturally changed during all those years I was on the pill. But like you, I'm not complaining!

@Thunderpants5138 Welcome and snap! I've just started trying for #1 too. No idea how long to expect it to take but as our wedding was postponed (usual story these days) by a good long time, we figured we'd at least see what happens. Wishing you best of luck on the start of this journey.

CD3...time definitely goes slower during lockdown!

Newbie9 · 04/06/2020 22:16

@kate123cl I've used them this past week for the first time but not now ovulation has passed
I found the clear blue one was quite good & easy to use x

PabsyPops · 04/06/2020 22:20

@Newbie9 when you got your static smiley did you stop testing? I got mine yesterday so now not sure if I should carry on or not 🤷🏼‍♀️
