Penguin huddle 🐧🐧🐧 TTC after pregnancy loss - Thread 35 - time for some sticky BFP's

Welcome to the 🐧 huddle. This a safe place to give and receive support for everyone who has experienced the loss(es) of a pregnancy or baby. Pregnancy and child loss is one of the most difficult things we can experience and it can also be the most lonely time too. I hope you find this thread to be of some comfort.

I have found so much comfort from the lovely ladies on this thread and I’m hoping for lots of BFPs in coming months!

Hope that’s not the case @Mumlili9 No advice as I don’t temp

@peperethecat a bank holiday on a Thursday?! 😱

@Sakura54 I had one chemical pregnancy that I am aware of and I tested early as I had a feeling I was pregnant. Period came a bit later than usual but I believe you can also be pregnant, pick it up on a test, and then MC before period so period comes at the normal time. Partly for that reason I try not to test early unless I have a reason eg going to a party and want to know if I should drink. Also because I just assume I’m not pregnant any given month.

I’m on CD18. Not sure when I ovulated as I didn’t test. Ovia thinks today is the last day if my fertile period. Had some CM a few days ago but haven’t had what I would consider fertile CM so who knows what’s happening this month.

@sakura54 I try not to test too early now. I used to test willy nilly because I never know when my period is "due" because my cycles and long and all over the place - I think it just made me more and more stressed. And when it was negative I would test the next day and the next day and sometimes that afternoon etc until my period came. Now I'm planning to be relaxed about it. Planning! Smile

peperethecat · 21/05/2020 09:26

@SomeBunnyovertheRainbow Yes, I'm in France. They are a bit random here. More of them but they're on fixed dates so they could be midweek or if they fall at the weekend you lose them.

SomeBunnyovertheRainbow · 21/05/2020 11:17

That’s interesting @peperethecat I hope you enjoy your day off and got that cup of tea! ☕️ 😃

@Sakura54 - sorry to hear about your missed miscarriage. I’ve had an MVA before and they are really horrible. I’ve had three chemical pregnancies and bleeding was noticeably later than when my period was due. 1 week later than date period due for the first one, 3.5 weeks later with second one (though pregnancy test was showing negative from much earlier) and 1.5 weeks later with the third one. Physically the chemical pregnancies were less awful than my other three pregnancies that were further along when they miscarried, just a bit achey and bleeding like a really heavy period.

I tried temping for the first time this month and did see a rise last weekend which was comforting, but not feeling it this month. Still waiting for a date for surgery to deal with sub-septate uterus and can’t get immune treatment so even if I did get a BFP I wouldn’t expect it to get very far.

@peperethecat - how do you get your husband to do it every night?! Very impressive!
I definitely feel your pain @SomeBunnyovertheRainbow on trying to get husband to DTD on the right day without telling him it’s the right day! Putting my nice knickers on is apparently a bit of a giveaway Wink

Mumlili9 · 23/05/2020 03:41

Ladies I did ovulate but didn't get a proper temp rise until 2 dpo. I didn't think 0.1 was enough of rise but apparently FF did so yay let the tww crazy begin 😜

I'm new here. I actually think I'm having a MC now. Been trying for 5 years. Passed something earlier that looked different than the usual blood clot. I passed a large amount before and it was ok. They couldn't figure out what caused the bad bleeding. Now I'm of course freaking out and crying. Sorry for the overshare. I don't have anyone to turn to about it.

SomeBunnyovertheRainbow · 23/05/2020 09:22

@FloDaffodil It’s tough isn’t it. My giveaway they other day was tmi alert telling him I’d shaved down there (which I haven’t done for a while!)

@Mumlili9 That’s good news 🤞

@SammiRobinson I’m so sorry you find yourself here. How far along are you? Are you in any pain? There is no oversharing here

OP posts:
Mumlili9 · 23/05/2020 10:33

@FloDaffodil I just throw my bra at DH and announce that I'm going to be, it usually gets his attention 😂
@SammiRobinson sorry to hear this, please feel this is a safe place to ask advice, support and friendship. No such thing as over sharing here hun

As for me I'm feeling like I've got all the energy in the world. I'm usually really tired in the tww. Had a slight dip today in temp but I'm not sure why maybe I snored 😂

Sakura54 · 23/05/2020 11:05

@FloDaffodil Sorry for your losses. Hope you are able to sort out your split uterus soon.

I’m only wary of CPs as I know you can get tests done if you have 3 MCs. I've only ever had one late period (2 weeks) but got a BFN and the month after I had a weird, painful period but didn’t think to test, so who knows if they were chemicals. If it wasn’t for this MMC, I wouldn’t even give them a second thought.

The organising and fear was worse than the MVA for me TBH. I had to go to an abortion clinic 40 mins drive away. Not even the one down the road is offering it atm and it wasn’t easy to arrange. If it wasn’t for CV, my hospital would have done it and saved me a lot of stress! I also started bleeding/cramping while waiting....never been so anxious in my life!

On a lighter note: re. TTC, I just tell DH and drag him to a private room or bathroom when we get the chance lol.

VenusStarr · 23/05/2020 12:34

I'm so sorry @SammiRobinson ❤️ I hope you're doing OK today. We've all sadly been there and it's awful, but we do understand xxx

I'm glad you've ovulated @Mumlili9 🤞 for you.

@peperethecat how are you? Glad ovulation was confirmed for you too.

Hope you're all well @SomeBunnyovertheRainbow @FloDaffodil @Sakura54

I'm waiting for ovulation - think I took too much evening primrose oil as no lines on my opks yet and it's cd 11. Kind of hoping that's a good thing though. Hoping for a positive today or tomorrow 🤞 we're doing smep, so getting dh to dtd, his words last night "oh, I forgot we were on a schedule" romance is officially dead in our house 😂 I asked him how's he going to manage for the 3 days on the trot and he claims we never did that (we definitely did 👀). It made us bough laugh though, so it's OK. I think he's feeling it now we're 2.5 years in, so happy to throw everything at it.

Sorry I dropped off for a bit, I was very overwhelmed last week, feeling brighter today. Have signed up for a fertility coaching session, had a good chat this week with her and done a self compassion webinar today, so feeling more in control. In other good news, I'm only 5lb up since lockdown began, so still 13lbs down overall. Went to slimming world via zoom today, so hoping to get back on track as I still have another stone ideally I'd like to get rid of.

Hope you all have a good day xx

SomeBunnyovertheRainbow · 23/05/2020 12:58

That sounds positive @VenusStarr

I actually woke up feeling quite positive today but I have found out today one woman I met through baby loss and recently became friends with is pregnant again and another (who lost her baby same time as us) has a 3 month old baby.

It seems like everyone I’ve met through baby loss who lost their baby at the same time as us has already had their rainbow and I’m still TTC. To be fair I did get pregnant within 6 months but unfortunately had the miscarriage but it has been 9 months since then... I really am happy for them but I wonder why it hasn’t happened for us and does it mean something is wrong with us Confused

Hi ladies,

Hope you don't mind me hopping on. I had my first CP earlier this month at 5+2. Had been TTC No 2 for 18 months and I was thrilled to see those lines appear, even if I only got to enjoy it for 3 days sadly.

I just wondered, I've read with a chemical there's nothing to stop you try again straight away, but does anyone know if it's common for it to affect if you ovulate on your next cycle?

My CP started on 10th May and all bleeding stopped by day 3, so according to my app I'm cycle day 14 today which is when I conceived last month but I had a lot more obvious signs - EWCM etc, currently nothing. Just wondered if it's likely to push things back or actual make me not ovulate at all this month?

Any experiences appreciated

SomeBunnyovertheRainbow · 23/05/2020 13:12

Sorry you find yourself here @ChunkyButFunky87 When I had a CP the GP said to just treat it as a late period and carry on as normal. She said in times gone by we wouldn’t have even known we’re pregnant etc so it could affect your cycle a bit but I’d just carry on. I’m no expert but that’s my experience.

SomeBunnyovertheRainbow · 23/05/2020 20:24

So DH thinks I’ve got PMT for getting annoyed with him for his double standards. Well great thanks for saying that DH, you suggesting I’m probably not pregnant in the middle of the 2WW is really helpful...

peperethecat · 23/05/2020 20:36

When are you testing, @SomeBunnyovertheRainbow?

peperethecat · 23/05/2020 20:38

@VenusStarr I'm OK, thanks for asking. Did my last Ovitrelle shot tonight so I will do cheapie pregnancy tests starting tomorrow and the line should get fainter from now on. If it starts to get darker then I'll know something is happening. 😬

How are you doing?

peperethecat · 23/05/2020 20:38

Hello @ChunkyButFunky87, sorry you find yourself here!

SomeBunnyovertheRainbow · 23/05/2020 20:41

I’ve got over a week ‘til period is due @peperethecat and usually don’t test unless I have reason to, as I would usually just expect period to come.

Hope you’re ok 💕

OP posts:
peperethecat · 23/05/2020 20:44

When did you ovulate? We must be cycle twins, or thereabouts. I'm testing on 1st June. Waiting for my period isn't an option for me because I'm taking progesterone.

SomeBunnyovertheRainbow · 23/05/2020 20:49

I didn’t track this month but I usually ov around day 14. Ovia thinks my fertile window ended CD18 and expects a 29 day cycle (predictions have changed since I had a longer cycle).

AF due 1 June so we must be pretty close

Fingers crossed for us both! (Although getting a BFP is mostly a source of stress for me now.)

SomeBunnyovertheRainbow · 23/05/2020 20:59

@peperethecat 🤞 I will absolutely be anxious if / when I get a BFP, and it would be more stressful for any of us due to CV, but it is the first step towards bringing a baby home. TTC is a source of stress for me anyway because I just worry it won’t happen for us but I try not to obsess about it x

SammiRobinson · 25/05/2020 05:59

I was 7 weeks. Pretty sure I just passed the baby sac about an hour ago. Thank you all.
