Hi there,
I’m very new to mumsnet and in my first month of trying to conceive.
All the info out there is really overwhelming and just wanted to start a thread for the people in the same boat.

So I ran out bought enough tests for the whole street I think. Did another FRER. I'm going to restrain myself and do one test a day. I'm too frightened to do another type of test incase it bursts my bubble.

@Nic2908 haha aw I don’t blame you! It’s so exciting!! They’re both very clear lines though, I don’t think your bubble will be burst 🥰 x

Gsr14 · 09/04/2020 11:20

Those lines are really clear! I’m feeling very positive for you 😊

OP posts:
Natt99 · 09/04/2020 11:35

Yay I think that's definitely a positive, so pleased for you xx

Gsr14 · 09/04/2020 12:37

I don’t know if anyone feels the same but I’m too scared to take a test! I think if I get my period I will feel less disappointed than if I get a negative test, think I’m going to wait until Monday but might change my mind before, aghhh it’s a weird feeling.

OP posts:
Nic2908 · 09/04/2020 12:43

I was petrified to take it, I am still petrified. I was more nervous for that second one than the first one and I'm pretty sure that is going to continue. It just felt like something that i had to do. I am a stubborn rat though... once its in my head it has to be done.

KateColx · 09/04/2020 13:11

@Gsr14 I know exactly how you feel! When I done it this morning it wasn't nice to see the negative, even though I already knew it would be too soon to test with a CB. Felt like I couldn't sleep last night 😅

@nic2908 ah that's totally understandable, it's so difficult to let yourself get excited. Easier said than done but try to enjoy this bit, you have no reasons to be worried and it's an exciting time 🥰 haha I was the same this morning, knew it was too early but done it anyway.

pizzawinecake · 09/04/2020 13:27

Hello! Is it too late to join this thread? I too new am new to the TTC club. Still have no idea how I feel about this but I am starting to get the small panic that I should start thinking about this (never been especially maternal but the past 6 months it feels like I actually feel ready!)- I am 33/34, have PCOS and have always had it in the back of my head that TTC will be really hard for me (no idea why I think this).

Given the weird times we are in I am slightly even a bit unsure of where to start this journey and I am keen to not put pressure on things. Saying that though, yesterday I purchased Ovusense ovulation calculator online as I guess because I have PCOS I don't even know whether I am ovulating. I think also my my PCOS gives me a very low libido so I am also slightly nervous about that.

nice to meet you all!

KateColx · 09/04/2020 14:14

@pizzawinecake of course not, welcome ☺️

I was in a similar situation really, turned 30 in January and all of a sudden it seemed to kick in to want to try! We haven't really started trying, just more like we've stopped trying not to get pregnant ☺️

It is such a weird situation to start trying in, with everything that's going on, but I think with having no idea of how long it could take it makes people nervous about putting it all on hold.

Will PCOS make it more difficult to track ovulation even with the tests? Sorry I'm not too familiar with PCOS, and I'm only just starting to learn all about ovulation testing! X

Gsr14 · 10/04/2020 11:01

I’m having really strange pains, it feels a bit like period cramps but much lighter and it comes and goes. No spotting or any other symptoms, has anyone else felt this?

OP posts:
Gsr14 · 10/04/2020 11:21

Ignore the above, just came on af 😩 very disappointing but hey there’s always next month!

OP posts:
KateColx · 10/04/2020 11:36

@Gsr14 it's so disheartening isn't it! I had two days of early spotting and pains which I never normally have so convinced myself something was different, but AF made an appearance this morning for me too!

Maybe let's keep this thread going until next month 😂☺️

Natt99 · 10/04/2020 11:38

Aww that's a shame @Gsr14 sorry to hear this. I'm sure you'll be successful soon x Think I may be out too, had light brown discharge yesterday (sorry tmi) this usually signifies that af is starting soon. Trying to kid myself that it may be implantation bleeding as was on CD9 but probably not.
How are you feeling @Nic2908? I expect the due date will mean it's a Christmas baby 😃 Welcome @pizzawinecake, love this name, all my fave things!

Natt99 · 10/04/2020 11:39

Sorry meant 9dpo, still getting used to the lingo 😂

Gsr14 · 10/04/2020 11:42

@KateColx I’m definitely up for keeping the thread going so we can all support each other next month.

It’s nice because I feel like we are all really routing for each other which makes me feel a bit better about come on this morning because I know you’ll be here next month to talk about everything through round 2!

@Nic2908 yes Christmas baby! Let us know how it’s all going

OP posts:
NJ2910 · 10/04/2020 12:34

@gsr141 @KateColx oh no! So sorry to here AF made an appearance :( fingers crossed for next month! I'm still only 4/5 DPO and at the beginning of the week I felt so hopeful and positive and already I'm feeling like it isnt going to happen. This TWW wait does funny things to you

KateColx · 10/04/2020 12:44

@Gsr14 yes I'd love to keep it going! I haven't really told any of my friends that were trying because I think it puts pressure on, so I don't really have people I can talk to about it all. Especially people who won't get bored of my symptom spotting and questions haha.

@NJ2910 it's a strange wait isn't it, but try not to feel disheartened, every chance you could be 🥰

@Natt99 from what I've read on here implantation bleeding at 9 DPO is possible ☺️ although it's sort of what I'd pinned my hopes on as to what my spotting was, it's hard when all of the symptoms for both pregnancy and PMS are so similar.

This is the first time I'll be keeping an eye on ovulation properly, do you think I would count Wednesday when I first started spotting as CD1 or today when it's properly kicked in? 🤔

Natt99 · 10/04/2020 13:20

@Gsr14 yes definitely up for keeping it going 😊 it's so nice to chat to people in the same situation. Glad it made you feel better, I read that 80-90% of couples conceive within one year so we've all got very good chances for 2021 babies
@KateColx yes you never know, if af doesn't come properly by weds I will take a test.
I would (and have been doing) count the day of proper period flow as CD1 as I think the brown spotting is actually old blood that your body is getting rid of. If you're monitoring ovulation then one day out shouldn't matter too much as you'll still catch it.

Hope everyone has a fab long weekend and enjoys the sun at home x

Nic2908 · 10/04/2020 14:39

So line was darker again today so that's goo as my periods were messed up my due date is actually Jan 1st. I ovulated 2 days after I finished bleeding. I wouldn't have normally tested either but was obviously meant to be. I'm feeling ok.. still not tried a clear blue.. too nervous!! Loved reading through all your messages and catching up with you all then. Keep the faith and having your period I guess is better than being kept waiting and having BFN. I'm still bobbing on if that's ok. Would love to stay in touch and see how your all getting on.

Gsr14 · 10/04/2020 21:45

@Nic2908 of course stay on the thread! Would love to keep hearing from you! Hopefully others might get a positive next month and we can go through the pregnancy journey together too! Even if not it will be so nice to be there for you 😊

Just got this right now, took an OPK test aswell which is near enough positive and now I kind of don't want to believe it. Is it possible the OPK ink leaked on and gave me this false positive?

It’s looks like the beginning of your ovulation window, keep testing 2/3 times a day u told you get a really strong line!

mrsgtobe97 · 11/04/2020 17:11

@Gsr14 just got this on a HPT, so I'm very confused 🤔

Gsr14 · 11/04/2020 17:17

Ohhhh I see, read your post as saying it was an opk test!! Apologies. Looks positive! Keep testing

OP posts:
mrsgtobe97 · 11/04/2020 17:19

@Gsr14 I took an OPK last night which was positive, another one again today along with that HPT which was positive too! Now I'm thinking it's too good to be true and surely some of the ink from OPK must have jumped onto the HPT 🤣 thinks it's because I had a faint positive 3 days ago then negatives so I was so upset and had come to terms with not being pregnant that now I don't want to believe it 😂 FRER should arrive Monday maybe Tuesday!
