Hi there,
I’m very new to mumsnet and in my first month of trying to conceive.
All the info out there is really overwhelming and just wanted to start a thread for the people in the same boat.

@Vil10 I completely understand that stress. I went two months without ever getting a really strong line, but honestly I think maybe it could be just bad timing. I would go about everything the same and ignore the strips for this month if it seems like you missed the peak. Maybe the concentration was too low or you missed the time it went dark. Just do what you can!

jules5232 · 19/05/2020 18:07

@Gsr14 Awesome! Crossing fingers for us this month! At least we will be on the same time schedule again. I'm figuring I will test on the 2nd if AF doesnt show before.

Unfortunately we couldnt BD after the peak yesterday which had me a little down, but from what I've read a lot of the fertile days are before the peak and we did twice within 5 days. Were taking it more casual this month though so I just let it go and what happens happens. I definitely felt some possible ovulation pains today though, which I've never felt before.

Vil10 · 19/05/2020 18:28

@MyGossip @Rooza @jules5232 I’m thinking maybe I haven’t missed my peak as it would have been very early, and my af has been so irregular but maybe I have missed it and my af will just be earlier and start to be more regular now! I think I’ll just wait and see if I get the EWCM and see what happens x

Rooza · 19/05/2020 19:24

@Vil10 did you mention youre on around CD13? That is quite early im on cd18 and Ive got my peak at cd15 (28 day cycle) but before was faint lines and on this day it was clear as ever so maybe youre about to have your peak! 💜 also on the same day i had cramps, Id say keep doing them youre probably so close

Rooza · 19/05/2020 19:27

Edit* 28-30day cycle :)

Vil10 · 19/05/2020 19:43

@Rooza yeah CD13 today, you could be right there, I’ll keep hoping and keep testing!! Thankyou! Hard because I haven’t had a regular cycle yet so it’s literally just a stab in the dark! Thankyou for the support❤️

Rayrayj · 19/05/2020 20:36

@Vil10 I just tested when I got home and got my darkest OPK. I stopped my pill start of this month I've had a rise in LH till the 12th, then barely a line on the OPK until today and it's dark again. Absolutely no idea what is going on! Just gonna BD and hope for the best.

KatieG200394 · 19/05/2020 22:44

@Vil10 mine have been faint then dark-ish then faint then dark again but still not as dark as the control line, so confused what's happening at the minute, I guess it might just take a while for things to go back to normal after coming off the pill, hope you get your positive OPK soon Smile sending baby dust xx

Vil10 · 19/05/2020 23:09

@KatieG200394 this is exactly what mine have been like! So glad I’m not the only one and we can support each other! Thankyou so much, sending some baby dust right back to you and hopefully we’ll both get that positive opk!xx

KatieG200394 · 20/05/2020 06:28

@Vil10 yes, I'm glad too that I'm not the only one, we can definitely support each other, thank you as well Smile I'll keep my fingers crossed Smile xx

Rayrayj · 20/05/2020 12:58

Did an OPK this morning with FMU and it was blazing positive. I know your not really meant to because the LH is usually produced later on. I am officially perplexed by this!

KatieG200394 · 20/05/2020 13:07

Feel silly for asking, but is this a positive OPK? I'm on CD18 so I wasn't expecting a lot this month and I think I'm just really shocked by this tbh as I only came off the pill not long over 2 weeks ago...
Congratulations on your positive OPK @Rayrayj xx

@Rayrayj I started using FMU also because I knew it would be concentrated enough without me having to limit my water intake. The only negative I can see with this is we might not catch the absolute beginning of our peaks, but I'll still checking during the afternoon to be sure. I just caught my first definitely positive in the morning and it lasted for 2 days so I'm happy with it.

@Katie200394 looks positive to me if the control is on the right!

KatieG200394 · 20/05/2020 13:33

@jules5232 yes, the control line is on the right! Smile I'll be sure to BD when my fiance gets in from work lol, I've gotten really excited now as I feel like that means my body is starting to work as it should after the pill because I was really worried it wasn't going to xx

Rooza · 20/05/2020 14:09

@ KatieG200394 yes, looks positive 🥳 x

KatieG200394 · 20/05/2020 15:02

Thank you @Rooza xx

Rayrayj · 20/05/2020 15:10

@jules5232 I think FMU is best for me because I drink loads of water in the day and don't want to drink less.

@KatieG200394 I felt the same when I saw mine. Just pleased to see I've got some hormones and my body is doing something after the pill!

MyGossip · 20/05/2020 15:37

@KatieG200394 looks good! I know that feeling. It's so positive knowing your body is back to normal in a way.

Bear712 · 20/05/2020 16:27

Tagging along to this thread! I’m technically TTC cycle 2 however cycle 1 we didn’t really know what we were doing and I think we missed our peak. My cycles have been 39/38/28 days since coming off the pill so I was expecting a much later ovulation date last month! So this is our first month of properly trying 😊 I’m on CD16 and patiently waiting for the solid smiley with CB, DTD every other day up to now. Good luck to all 😊

Vil10 · 20/05/2020 16:43

So I’ve had ovulation pains in my left side this morning and just in this last hour had EWCM!! Feel like I’m actually getting somewhere now!x

Rooza · 20/05/2020 16:53

@Vil10 I'm so pleased for you! I thought about asking you how are things today. As for me i'm 3dpo but no major changes at all, i want the tww to be over already

watermelonwizard · 20/05/2020 17:07

Hi All, I’m new to mumsnet, I’m TTC #2 but #1 for my DH! My son is 8. Have been on the mirena coil since after DS was born, had it removed last week!! Had AF a few days later which has just finished. Now tracking ovulation eagerly :) predicted this weekend.

I’ve been loving reading people’s TTC journeys, such an exciting but stressful time.

Good luck to you all.

Rayrayj · 20/05/2020 18:10

@Vil10 that's great news! It is a good feeling when your body does something. Smile

@watermelonwizard welcome to the thread!

watermelonwizard · 20/05/2020 18:31

Thank you!

Looking forward to following all your stories.

MyGossip · 20/05/2020 19:08

@Vil10 that's fab news!

@watermelonwizard welcome and good luck on your journey!

I've still not taken a test yet although still got sore boob pain and a sore back. Cramps have gone now. AF should arrive Wednesday so I'll just wait and hope she doesn't come 🤞🏻

Hope you've all had a fab day! ❤️
