Hi there,
I’m very new to mumsnet and in my first month of trying to conceive.
All the info out there is really overwhelming and just wanted to start a thread for the people in the same boat.

@MyGossip thank you, sending baby dust your way Smile xx
@Vil10 that's great news, good luck xx
@watermelonwizard welcome to the thread xx

Aokbaby · 20/05/2020 21:37

@MyGossip @Rooza
Thanks for getting back to me. I've been testing every day this cycle and still no strong line, had a few faint lines but nothing strong yet, currently CD 15. Do you think there's a chance LH could peak overnight and it's completely missed between testing?! Really hoping so cos panicking that I'm not ovulating at all now!! So stressful x

jules5232 · 20/05/2020 22:01

@Aokbaby I wouldnt worry too much yet. CD15 is on the regular 28 day range, but its not far fetched at all to think it could happen a few days later. Are you getting a faint line at least? I wouldnt think you're peak would happen at night and you wouldnt catch it in the morning. They say the surge normally arrives in the late morning or afternoon and I would think it would last long enough for you to get it at some point? Keep trying and dont get discouraged. I'd also suggest remembering to BD now, because your fertile window starts before the peak. Good luck!!

Aokbaby · 20/05/2020 22:13

@jules5232 thanks for that, it's so easy for your mind to go into overdrive and think nothing but negative things. Yea got a very faint line on sun, Mon and Tues so I may have missed it. Have a bit of cramping today so maybe not here yet, gaaa it's all so confusing. Hehe just have to BD and hope for the best, thanks xx

Rayrayj · 20/05/2020 22:15

@Aokbaby don't worry about not having your strong line yet. It'll creep up in you soon! CD 15 is still early like @jules5232 says.

KatieG200394 · 20/05/2020 22:23

@Aokbaby the cramping all sound like signs leading up to it, none of my lines were very strong and then I got my peak today on CD17 but I was definitely cramping for a few days before and today as well, in fact more so today than I have been so I wouldn't think you're too far off from it Smile xx

Aokbaby · 20/05/2020 22:38

Thanks so much girls, really helps having your support xx

MyGossip · 21/05/2020 08:13

Thanks @KatieG200394 ...really hope this month is my month.

@Aokbaby just keep testing, sometimes twice a day. It will get stronger! And don't be disheartened about not getting your strong, just keep DTD! ❤️

Peach1204 · 21/05/2020 12:10

Hi ladies, I hope I'm ok to join your thread - seems like there are lots of BFPs since it first started so congratulations Smile

I turned 31 in April with the original plan of coming off the pill in September but given Covid has cancelled all plans we decided not to put off any longer.

I only joined Mumsnet yesterday so new here and learning abbreviations! Came off the pill at the end of March after being on it for 11 years. Since then I have had what I assume was the withdrawal bleed, then my period and AF came yesterday which was 28 days after my last period so think my body is back to normal cycles already (again all new so could be mistaken). Not going to lie was disappointed yesterday given how much it was drummed into me about using protection else I will get pregnant - completely understand the pill might not be fully out of my system but know of people who got pregnant within one month of coming off.

I'm using Flo to track periods and I'm going to use it more to track things like DTD going forward.

I've always had the worry that it just won't ever happen even before we were trying. Anyone else like this? My reasoning being I haven't eaten properly since starting high school so skip meals. Covid has brought me out of this and I know I need to continue once back at work.

So here I am TTC baby peach #1. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. We are not telling anyone we are trying as we don't want the added pressure (married 17 months tomorrow and on the wedding day I was asked when a baby was coming. I think people just believe it's an easy thing to do whereas I see it as a miracle getting pregnant as timings have to be right amongst other things).

Sorry for the huge post. This just seemed like a really supportive thread so I hoped to join and learn from everyone so it leads to a BFP!
Xxx

jules5232 · 21/05/2020 12:28

@Peach1204 welcome to the group! I dont have any experience we with the pill, but I definitely understand the worry before even starting that it will never happen. I've always thought this, even though it's not based on anything reasonable. This group has made me realize I think it is a very common anxiety we all share.
This group has been awesome to bounce thoughts, questions and worries off of for us new first timers who dont know what were doing!

Peach1204 · 21/05/2020 12:32

@jules5232 thank you lovely. It's reassuring I'm not the only one who is worried. When we said we would start trying I said I wouldn't get obsessive but already feel like I am! I hope this thread calms me down a bit.

Forgot to add to my below post that I came off the pill and the next day started using Seven Seas Trying to Conceive pills. Packet 2 will be finished tonight then I have another 2 packs. After that I'm thinking of maybe changing to a his and hers one but they are more expensive. Has anyone any thoughts on this? Xxx

watermelonwizard · 21/05/2020 12:51

Welcome @Peach1204 ! Similar in that I’ve just come off the coil so not sure where my body is at cycle wise. So tracking it like a mad person. Yes definitely have that anxiety too, I had my first DS when I was 21 unplanned and was so blissfully unaware of the complications, not TTC #2 with my DH (his first) and I’ve heard so many stories and know so many people who have had so many difficulties I think, why should I be so lucky again? You know? It’s silly. But I think a common anxiety. It’s definitely a miracle. Agree with the pressure thing 2. I had people asking me if I wanted another 1 when I was single ??!!!! How does that work?! I joined this forum a couple of days ago and it’s so supportive and reassuring. Good luck xx

watermelonwizard · 21/05/2020 12:52

@Peach1204 that’s meant to say NOW trying to conceive !!! Also I’m now 30.

Peach1204 · 21/05/2020 13:07

@watermelonwizard thank you for a lovely welcome. I get where you're coming from with why should I be so lucky? thought. I do think people need to chill out with expectations when it comes to other people having children. Not sure what they were thinking with you being single! I've laughed it off and said there are too many places I want to see first and that seems to have done the trick to stop people asking. I originally wanted a Canada trip then to start trying but that would put it off a couple of years so hoping people are thinking I'm not having one until then and the trip won't actually happen because we have a child 🤞🏻 good luck ttc number 2! Be good to share this journey with others at the same starting point. Xxx

jules5232 · 21/05/2020 13:21

@Peach1204 Same. I said that too. I definitely did obsess a good bit the first two months, trying to learn as much as I can so I know what's happening through each stage. Once I got a firm grasp on that it definitely allowed me to relax a little bit more and stop internet searching (that is until I feel symptoms, then I'm hopeless!!)

Rayrayj · 21/05/2020 13:29

@Peach1204 I definitely share your anxieties. I always worry about not being able to conceive for no real reason. Also didn't look after myself or eat properly in my early 20s (too much partyin). I'm just trying my best to be as healthy as I can now!

Peach1204 · 21/05/2020 14:26

@jules5232 what month are you on now? Are there any tips I need to know?

@Rayrayj I'm sure we can rectify ourselves with the eating. What we are doing now will be so much better than before. I think I won't ever be chilled completely and will always worry! Sending you lots of luck on this journey Smile

Xxx

Vil10 · 21/05/2020 14:35

Just month 3. The first month wasnt even a convincing form of trying though lol. Basically I'd suggest really trying to learn how a cycle works biologically. For instance, it averages 7 to 9 days after ovulation to implant. All worries or symptoms in those 9 days are most likely due to hormone changes that will happen anyway. Knowing that makes me just relax for a week or so after we DTD and the TWW a little easier. At least for me it helps to know what my bodies doing so I dont overthink it all. And realize making a baby involves a lot of moving parts so it's okay that it isnt super easy.

MyGossip · 21/05/2020 14:48

@Peach1204 welcome!! This is a lovely group! Similar to you I was on the pill for many many years and I can confidently say that my body seems to have gone back to normal AF wise etc. I came off in January and got my first real period in February, ovulation started around March. It's a scary thought thinking it wouldn't happen as I feel like that too.

We will all get our BFPs soon ❤️

@Vil10 Amazing!!!

Peach1204 · 21/05/2020 15:05

@Vil10 fingers crossed tonight's the night! Xxx

@jules5232 thank you for the tips. I guess once I've got all the important dates down to a t I should be able to know what's going on. Xxx

@MyGossip reading this thread before commenting I thought everyone seemed so nice and this would be a nice one to be part of. I remember asking the Dr when he changed me to the current pill (no AF really on that one) whether there would be any problems and be said no. After 7ish years of pretty much no AF I'm glad they have come back so quickly. Keeping fingers crossed for BFPs for everyone soon! Xxx

Peach1204 · 21/05/2020 15:06

@MyGossip when I say current pill - the last pill I was on before coming off it after decided to start trying. Xxx

KatieG200394 · 21/05/2020 15:15

@Peach1204 welcome to the group Smile xx

@Vil10 that's amazing news, hope tonight is the night for you xx

Peach1204 · 21/05/2020 15:27

@KatieG200394 thank you 😊😊 hope things are going well in your baby journey. Xxx
