Hi there,
I’m very new to mumsnet and in my first month of trying to conceive.
All the info out there is really overwhelming and just wanted to start a thread for the people in the same boat.

It’s so confusing isn’t it, sometimes I don’t really trust the cheap OPK tests because the line colour fluctuates so much. Fingers crossed you get a positive on the FRER, just try to stay relaxed until then and not get your hopes up too much, the dissappointment is horrible isn’t it.

@mrsgtobe97 I have heard of ink leaking onto other strips if they are touching. I think someone did a YouTube video on it. I have also seen on here though that people have had positive opk due to being pregnant??

We have decided to start trying too! Third day in a row with the flashy face... not sure if that means we missed the peak??

Morning ladies & welcome @beccaxob - I haven't used the CB ovulation tests only the cheap sticks but maybe you are just yet to hit your peak? Someone else with better knowledge will hopefully reply and help you out 😊

I'm feeling rubbish this morning, I am 6/7DPO and AF not due until the 20th but I've been to the toilet this morning and there is blood :( am i out? I want to believe this is just implantation bleeding but I dont think it is :(

Hey @beccaxob I've been using the clear blue. Flashing smiley is good, means it's detected estrogen and it's leading up to your peak. When you get the static smiley face that stays there for 48 hours that is the peak so you definitely haven't missed it. I got the flashing for 3 days before peak so it should arrive soon for you.
Oh no @NJ2910 sorry to hear that! Do you usually get spotting? It could definitely be IB, one of my friends said she had it before finding out she was pregnant. Although, one cycle I did have spotting 7 days before AF unfortunately, so annoying. Everything crossed for you x

@Natt99 I don't normally get spotting no but when I google about implantation bleeding everyone describes it as really light and either pink or brown. Mine isnt as heavy as a full period but it isnt light and I would say it is reddy brown so not feeling positive :( ah well we will see!

@NJ2910 oh no 😢 do let us know the outcome as you've still got over a week so you never know. Hope everyone got lots of yummy eggs x

Back again 🙈 so this test is the pinkest that's come up, I'm now 10DPO. the bottom half of the test came up pink immediately, and the rest is faint but definitely there now. I don't want to believe it! 🙈 I'm a nightmare.

Hi everyone! Do you mind if I join? This is our first month trying for our first I was 6 days late for af but she arrived this morning annoyingly! I hate that pregnancy symptoms and period symptoms are basically the same! So lovely to see people are in the same boat, I'm finding it so hard not to talk to my friends about it!

Hi everyone - brand new to mumsnet & thought I would join this thread.
My husband and I were planning to start trying for our first in July but have decided to start a few months early!
I have been off the pill for 2 months now, we are taking a ‘relaxed’ approach for now and seeing how we go as I am not back to a regular cycle yet.
Hoping everyone is doing ok, I need to get up to speed with the lingo here haha!

Thanks @Gsr14 :) these IC HPT I think are dodgy sometimes, some are way dark and some are faint, I'm wondering if because they're cheap the level of dye in them can be a bit off 😖 not getting excited until the FRER arrives and comes out positive but I'm going to keep doing the IC HPT same time everyday until then!

Hi all, just popping on to update- as I said on Sunday I was around 6/7 DPO and I started bleeding. As the day progressed I was convinced it was AF although it was 8 days early however the bleeding only lasted for a day whereas normally AF is 5 days and heavy so now I'm wondering if it could be implantation bleeding? I took a test this morning which was negative but I guess I am only 8/9 DPO so maybe there is still chance yet? So unsure haha!! Will keep you guys updated 😊

Don't understand, the IC HPT are back to negative and was negative yesterday too, starting to think I've had false positives. Expecting the FRER to be negative too 😖

Unfortunately it might've been a chemical @mrsgtobe97 they seem to be quite common sadly, I think the FRER should be able to give you a definite answer but maybe wait a few days for more accurate result x

I’ve decided to start plotting my BBT as we have a thermometer in the house so why not. Has anyone else done this and does it help?

@Gsr14 in terms of tracking temperature, I do this every morning and log it on my natural cycles app - I find it useful for confirming ovulation (in addition to OPKs) plus getting to know your usual BBT is helpful in identifying changes from the norm that could indicate pregnancy 😊 and it is something other to do that POAS!!😂

@NJ2910 - does sound hopeful! What was the flow like? I'm also in the 2WW and about 7dpo. Had a BFN today but have been having crampy ovulation type pains today and yesterday intermittently. Not sure what to make of it, if anything?

@Gsr14 - I use Natural Cycles also. You need a basal thermometer which is accurate to 2 decimal places. It's a fantastic app and I'd recommend it to all!
