Hi there,
I’m very new to mumsnet and in my first month of trying to conceive.
All the info out there is really overwhelming and just wanted to start a thread for the people in the same boat.

When I say op I don’t mean what it says in the brackets I mean operation hahah

Scarlettxo · 16/05/2020 10:28

@Vil10 Omg! What a nightmare 😩 The only person that knows your body is you so maybe the best thing is forget the apps and listen to our bodies! I think I will do that next month & start trying earlier on the month 🤞🏻

@Flamingle909 Good luck with future testing but I have a good feeling for you 😁💗 the line seems clear enough already 🥳
Wonderful news! Any top tips 😜?!

X

Flamingle909 · 16/05/2020 10:36

@scarlettxo haha! I feel like the least qualified person to offer any tips... Literally peed on one ovulation stick the day after they arrived in the post, got peak result and then DTD that day and the next. I think this is why it feels so surreal! I'm very grateful and pleased of course but I imagined it would take much longer. So in a few weeks if all is good we will have to consider what the hell we should do with our October wedding date! I'm going to stick around on this thread for a bit though as still feel very much in my TTC journey (cautiously optimistic but not quite ready to believe I'm pregnant!)

Scarlettxo · 16/05/2020 10:42

@Flamingle909 Hehe! I'm only kidding! Maybe now is your time 🥰 I hope you believe it soon, cause it is super news!! 😁

Sending love your way x

Flamingle909 · 16/05/2020 10:43

@scarlettxo thank you! Sending you lots of luck and positive baby making vibes 🥰

MyGossip · 16/05/2020 10:46

Hi ladies,

Just catching up on the chat, sorry if I miss anything out.

@Flamingle909 OMG!! That's clear as day. Sending you so much congratulations!! How are you feeling?

@abilouise93 @LittleMissBlatherskite I know exactly what you mean. Only my best friend knows - she's got a ten week old - and she's been brilliant with encouragement etc. Haven't told my family as it would just be constant. But thankfully my brothers and sister have 7 between them!

@Vil10 keep testing! Both my apps said I was ovulating on Monday and Tuesday but my sticks showed nothing. I retested and looks like my ovulating days were Thursday and Friday, yet to test today but keep testing.
And yes re bad skin! I came out in so many spots and I've always had great skin (inherited from my mum!) it will clear though. Just hormones.

@NJ2910 sorry to hear you're still getting BFN! It's hard but you'll get there. And Prosecco is always a great answer!

@MintGreenLife I've got the seven seas one and there really small tablets and I've had zero side affects. My friend recommended them along with Zinc and Vit C. Hubby is on a fertility vitamin too.

I do have a question for you all... further to my post a few days ago I'm definitely ovulating and the pains are back on one side too. Has anyone wise had these pains? The reason I ask is I was seeing the do it or from Jan about pains in my side to the point they thought it was kidney stones and I was sent for tests and nothing showed. The pain was like such a dull ache hence the doctors visit. However I'm now wondering if it's been ovulating pains and because I was fresh of the pill and not testing, I wouldn't have considered ovulating as an option. Is anyone else getting really dull aching pains? Should I be worried?

Right enough of an essay, hope you're all enjoying your weekend! ❤️

Flamingle909 · 16/05/2020 11:01

@mygossip thank you! I'm feeling a bit weird about it at the moment as quite a shock and doesn't feel real. But my OH is super excited and keeps running in telling me things he has clearly found on the internet... "Don't take vitamin a! You can't have goats cheese!" 😂 Bless him.

Yep I used to get this sort of pain too - would be dull period type pains mainly on one side. It would come mid-month and one month was so achey I woke up with it and couldn't get back to sleep. Weird. But it fit with my cycle so I just assumed that's what it was... Some people talk about a sharp pain but mine was def a dull ache which went on for a few hours or a day sometimes

Vil10 · 16/05/2020 12:48

@Scarlettxo I think I’m going to do that too!

@Flamingle909 your test is so clear, it’s understandable you feel it’s a bit surreal but enjoy it! Congratulations again!!

@MyGossip yeah I think that’s my plan to just keep on testing and hopefully I’ll get that dark line! I also get these dull ache pains in 1 side, I’ve always had them and went to the doctors about 4 years ago for a scan and it was all clear but they scanned because I was only young and when I told them the pain I was getting and whereabouts it was they said it would be ovulation and ever since it has always matched up to when I would be ovulating! Last month it was my left side and I actually put it on my notes what side it was and what date and it was my ovulation days! Nothing to worry about don’t worry!xx

MintGreenLife · 16/05/2020 13:17

@MyGossip thanks for the info re seven seas ☺️ How long have you been taking them for? Mine are arriving today so maybe I'll just start. I did wonder if I should wait another cycle to see if it's regular before starting them, but this is our first month TTC so maybe it would hurt to start taking them now rather than waiting until next month 😊

MintGreenLife · 16/05/2020 13:18

@MyGossip oh and I've probably not been off the pill long enough to comment on ovulation pains 😂 Will have to wait and see!

Squidge12 · 16/05/2020 15:43

@NJ2910 thank you, will definitely take that advice. I used OPK this morning and the line was darker but still not quite the same. I have just tested again and line is just as dark... will definitely be DTD today!!

@MyGossip I was getting those pains a few years back but mainly on the left side. I had ultrasound of my ovaries and everything was fine. I think people can have ovulation pains, that’s what I put mine down to xx

MyGossip · 16/05/2020 15:52

@Flamingle909 oh that's lovely that he's bring so protective! Congrats again. What a wonderful feeling it must be ❤️

Thank you @Flamingle909 @Vil10 @Squidge12 for the info re ovulation pains. It's so odd and really quite achy. I'm now putting two and two together! The Doctors never asked me about it or said it could be a possibility but it does only happen when I'm ovulating I suppose. You've all made me Jess anxious, thank you!

@MintGreenLife I've only been taking them the last two and a half weeks and tbh I don't feel any better or worse really so I'm not sure if they are working or not. I'm taking the fact I've not felt any different in a bad way as a good thing.

NJ2910 · 17/05/2020 09:50

Just popping on to update- AF arrived this morning so looks like my faint BFP may have been a chemical pregnancy. To be honest I'm actually just relieved AF came so at least I know where I stand - Cycle 3 here I come 😊

Hope you're all doing okay! X

MintGreenLife · 17/05/2020 11:54

@NJ2910 well done for having such a positive attitude ☺️ Best of luck for cycle 3! Xx

Vil10 · 17/05/2020 12:00

@NJ2910 you seem like you’re in a good head space though ready for your next cycle! Good luck!
For some reason I’ve woken up this morning feeling very low and upset and just had a wave of emotions feeling like I’ll never get my BFP and I have some underlying condition that will affect my chances of ever getting pregnant! I think I’m just being dramatic and sorry to dampen everyone’s Sunday but does anyone else get this?

Rayrayj · 17/05/2020 12:22

@Vil10 all the time! I try remember it's just irrational thoughts which are ok to have but not based on anything real. And I distract myself by doing something that really makes me focus.

NJ2910 · 17/05/2020 14:19

Thank you @mintgreenlife 😊😊

Thanks @Vil10 and so sorry to hear you're feeling low today :( but this is deffo the best place to tall about it as we all understand and we are here for each other. TTC is so rubbish sometimes, and I've definitely had days where I just think it will never happen and I've literally only been trying two cycles so I know it is irrational but doesnt stop us feeling like crap. Big hugs xxx

Scarlettxo · 17/05/2020 14:49

@NJ2910 Keep that positivity up! Best way 😁❤️

@Vil10 Im on the completely same page as you! Today has been a weird day & every symptom I analyse lol few dizzy spells today, dull aches in lower abdomen - then I remember AF is due in about a week and I bet that's all it is 😂 It's a vicious cycle! But you're not alone - I am on cycle 1 and stressed out my box already!!!!

Keep the faith 💞 x

Vil10 · 17/05/2020 15:24

@Rayrayj I’ve tried doing that today, I did my shopping and have been creating a family quiz this afternoon and it’s taken my mind off things!
@NJ2910 Thankyou so much, it definitely is a good place to vent Thankyou to all you lovely ladies!
@Scarlettxo it is such a stressful time but we’ll all get there!
I’ve been using easy@home opks and premom app for the first time this cycle, so been testing since CD 7 and then adding the opk results into the premom app on the easy@home test section, however I’ve just done an opk and added it to this section and it said “0.32 low” but just added it to the premom section of the tests and the same test says “17.5 high” I’m so confused!! I’ll add pics to explain

Do any of you ladies tend to have ovulation symptoms, besides any cramping?

Rayrayj · 17/05/2020 15:33

@Vil10 I have also been finding OPKs confusing. From what I have read the actual figures you get aren't so important. I've also had different apps say different things. I think the best thing is to look for when the test line gets as dark as the control and DTD.

KatieG200394 · 17/05/2020 16:33

@Vil10 mine is doing the exact same, I think as @Rayrayj says, to just ignore the numbers and look to see if the line is getting darker Smile I'm on CD14 and had my darkest line yet but still not quite a positive although I wasn't expecting to ovulate this month as I've only recently came off the pill but I think it looks promising that they're starting to get darker, the app Glow is also good with its line analyser xx

Squidge12 · 17/05/2020 19:53

@NJ2910 sorry to hear AF arrived... sending baby dust for the next cycle Smile. Also, I’m so glad you said about testing 3 times as yesterday I tested and my surge was in the afternoon... would have missed it if it did it just morning and evening xx

@Vil10 I hope you are feeling better? We are going to have lows and highs and that’s a completely normal feeling. Try not to beat yourself up about it and start tomorrow as a fresh day Star. My OPKs can say a different number even on the same test 1 minute later... I tend to just go by the colour.

@jules5232 I’m pretty sure I ovulated today. I got some pain on the left side which last a couple of hours. I got sensitive nipples the day before as well (which have continued). I also got some bloating but that might be because of what I ate. Do you get any symptoms?

Vil10 · 17/05/2020 20:49

@Rayrayj I think that’s the plan, DTD every 2 days especially now that the lime is getting darker! Thankyou!
@KatieG200394 I’m CD11 and also got my darkest line today, been trying to test between 12 and 4, so it’s similar time everyday and not drinking much before I test either! Thankyou!
@Squidge12 I’m feeling much better now after my OH gave me a positive chat, he’s so laid back so it helps! Hope I wake up tomorrow feeling a lot more positive and start the week better, thanks so much!

MyGossip · 18/05/2020 11:28

Hi ladies,

Just checking in. Hope you all had a fab weekend!

@NJ2910 sorry AF arrived. Fingers crossed for next month!

@Vil10 sorry to hear you're down. At least you've got this forum to vent and talk about things. I hope you've picked up!
I've also been using those OPK the last few days and hopefully getting the hang of it. I know I've missed my high days but was testing to get the hang of it. Mine are low too but I expected that.

@jules5232 mine were so bad I went to the doctors and they thought I had kidney stones! I now know it was ovulating pains and to this day I still get them. Only ever on my right side.

I'm 6DPO today with weird cramping so not sure what that is. I still didn't pin point my best day for ovulation this month so expecting AF next week. However I have switched to decaf, eating pineapple, taking seven seas folic acid and vitamin B.. first month I've taken it seriously I suppose. I now know how to work my OPK (I think) so ready for next month. Can anyone tell me the best day to start testing after AF goes?

Hope you are all having a positive Monday ❤️
