Long Cycle girls TTC :)

Hi everyone who read this! My typical cycle is 34-37 days long but everyone I talk to seems to have shorter cycles. I'm looking for others like myself who have long cycles and are ttc :) we are trying for our first baby x

Has anyone found anything to help regulate their periods at all?

@Pol96 did you dtd when you saw the EWCM? I did anyway just incase!! I have loads of OPKs but haven't used them in ages, I get so uptight when I feel like we are trying so much lol if we both ovulated two weeks in then maybe we'll be lucky to have a cycle under 30 days! Lol

My issue was the opposite, short cycles :p 25 days. They went to 28 with and after the pill but apparently my ovulation was still connected to the 25day cycle.

Sooooo my advise is just buy online those really cheap ovulation sticks, the paper ones. Lots of them! Forget about measuring temperature and all that jazz, way too complicated.

Do an ovulation test every day starting a couple of days before and finishing a few days after what is the "usual" 28 day cycle ovulation period. This way you'll get an idea where YOUR ovulation comes in ;) The next cycles you'll know better.

Btw: my first DD got conceived by accident!! We were following those apps and then I had to travel during what was supposed to be the ovulation period.... Surprise surprise

@Runnergirl1 yeah it sucks doesn't it, I love running so much but anything over 35/40 miles a week and my cycles get longer. I've cut back to around 25 this month to try sort my body out!

@runnerttc well hopefully you will sort them out and get a bfp quickly before you up your mileage again and they become irregular and long again x

I THINK I ovulated on either Wednesday CD26 or Thursday CD27 this week (peak OPKs Tuesday evening through to late Wednesday evening). Had a definite negative (no test line) on Thursday evening. I've just done another test now (CD30) to see if LH remained low, and I got a fairly high reading. Makes me a bit worried that I didn't actually ovulate earlier this week. Has anyone here ever had high OPKs a few days after the the peak ones?

Cd47 ttc my first after 11 years on the pill. Never ever again! 26yo, dh is 28. Came off the pill in August and this is officially cycle 4 of bfn...
any cycle regulation tips?
No idea why it’s so irregular now as it wasn’t before the pill :/

Hi @Newbie0818 how long have you cycles been over the last 4? Do you temp or do OPKs?

@xoJellyBean yeah dtd (day of ewcm and positive opk) will be so strange to have a normal length cycle for a change.. Hoping I see a temp rise soon, predicted o today and big temp drop this morning .. Is that normal? The rise comes after ovulation doesn't it?? Do you track bbt?? Cant remember if I've already read if you do!

Hi @Suki2020 so the last 4 have been 45,36 and 32 (going from most recent to further back). The one before that is hard to say as i came off the pill and then had no period for 2 months. Currently on cd 48.

I don’t temp but have been using opk’s on previous cycles and have been getting positives on CD 20 and 27. Though that’s not a definite indicator. I took an opk on Wednesday and Thursday just to see and they were both blazing positives which is why I took a pg test(neg).

@Newbie0818 that’s good that you’re getting positive OPKs. You may find that your periods regulate soon as they do say it can take at least 6months for your body to adjust after coming off the pill.

I’m after some help ladies, I did first OPK yesterday and it only had one line so I know that was negative but this morning when I did one I got a slight second line. Does that mean ovulation maybe coming or do you just get a faint line on some if them? I’ve attached a photo of the one from this morning.

@Suki2020 I have had some with feint lines and some with no lines before getting a positive, but they did start getting darker before my positive. What CD are you?

@pol96 I’m day 44. Do I just test once a day until it starts to get darker and then test twice a day? Sorry new to OPKs

@Suki2020 I did one a day unless I got a darkish one then tested again a few hours laterto check. This is my first month of doing them too(I went a bit crazy with them and did loads of tests one day 😂) it's possible you've already missed your peak if you're on CD 44 (depending on shortest / longest cycle) but definitely keep testing daily incase you've not o'd yet. Hope you get your positive soon!

I’m sick as a chip these are my recent OPKs. I got excited it was getting darker then it’s got lighter again. Cd31 and I’m going mad x

@Runnergirl1 some people don't get a strong lh surge?? Keep at it, good luck!

With regards to your opk, I always have a faint line when I take them, I’ve only ever had one line when my wee has been super diluted after a brief hold. I’ll try and attach a pic for you to see one of my old handmade charts.

@Newbie0818 try not to stress over the long cycles, I came of BC 2 years ago and I think they're now getting a bit better 😊

@Pol96 thank you. It’s just getting very annoying now. You just want to have the same chance as everyone and the length this cycle is looking like it means you only get about 10chances a year to get pregnant. I would rather know, if I haven’t ovulated then af wants to hurry along so we can try again.

@Suki2020 they should get darker or if your like me they fade and then get abit darker. Haven’t reached a peak yet but you can check this by using an app to take a picture of your opk and that gives you a helping hand. There is premom or femometer - I find both work well although as my af is all over the place it’s predicted ovulation days haven’t been right

@Pol96 thanks. I’m just SO impatient. Honestly the most impatient person lol. Have you managed to conceive in that time?

@Newbie0818 haha! I'm impatient too! Well we've only been actively trying for 1 1/2 cycles. Although we hadn't exactly been careful before. I honestly wasn't even sure if I was ovulating because of how irregular they were but after doing opks and bbt at least I know I am. Providing my temp stays up I'm in the TWW now so fingers crossed!
Do you have any children?

@pol96 nope, this will be our first. I just can’t wait for the moment I finally see that BFP one day 🤞🏼 Trying 6 months now, though only technically 4 cycles because of irregularity. Only really started getting worried this last few weeks tbh.

@Runnergirl1 really hope you get the positive soon! I worked out the whole possibly 10 chances a year thing the other day.. It really sucks.

Do any of you find that there's suddenly so many pregnancy announcements etc right now?? Or was there always and I've just never noticed?? 4 people on my social media have announced their pregnancies in the last 2 weeks..

@pol96 - I do. Even on here it is lovely seeing everyone’s bfp but I want to be in that club too. My best friend has an 18month old and she is forever posting videos and photos of him which is lovely but makes me want one even more x
