Long Cycle girls TTC :)

Hi everyone who read this! My typical cycle is 34-37 days long but everyone I talk to seems to have shorter cycles. I'm looking for others like myself who have long cycles and are ttc :) we are trying for our first baby x

@Pol96 ahh yeah I see :) does mine look like an af drop? I'm moody today so I think so 😂

@Darcy86 it'll definitely be hard to tell without a full cycle is it similar to other Temps you've got after ovulation?

@xoJellyBean it's hard to tell, hopefully it's not. When mine dropped when af got me on my last cycle it dropped a bit the day before, then dropped more the day off. You may have also slept with your mouth open or window open which can also change the temperature. Hopefully it's not af x

@Pol96 hope it's not but I just need to be realistic and prepare for af coming! How are you feeling?

@xoJellyBean yeah it is important to be realistic, but also so hard not to get your hopes up.

I'm tired 😂 I've not made it out of bed yet 😅 I am so glad I'm not having to work right now as I don't know how I'd cope with more fatigue. I do really miss work though, at least I'd have something to take my mind of everything! I had my booking appointment yesterday so now waiting for my scan letter to come through the post.. Feels more real now! X

@Pol96 I've been ranging from 36.38 to 36.78 since ovulation so it's probably around average. Was just disappointing as it had risen each day for the 3 previous days! Suppose I'll know either way tomorrow...eek.

Hi, I somehow managed to completely miss this thread and just posted looking for fellow long/irregular cycle girls so I'm mega relieved to see there are lots of us.

My cycles average around 36 days but can be anywhere from 30 - 50. My partner and I switched from the copper coil to condoms about six months ago and it was a random 50 day cycle where we convinced ourselves I was pregnant that made us realise we wanted to start trying for our first baby. We're now on our second cycle and I'm absolutely dreading the disappointment of a long cycle getting my hopes up. It never even occurred to me that it might cause problems but thanks to furlough I've got too much time on my hands and have freaked myself out with too much googling.

Am I panicking for no reason or is it going to be an absolute nightmare?!

@xoJellyBean 😂 I honestly have no energy and just feel..bleh and Not quite normal... If that makes sense?? I'll let you know once I get my scan date through and will ofc show you the pictures (if everyone is okay with it?)

Welcome @JanQi, furlough does give you way too much time to Google doesn't it!? As for whether you should be panicking or not, try not too, I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry about it all. You've only been off the pill for 6 months and it can take longer than that to regulate. Are you tracking your cycles at all? Do you know whether you're ovulating naturally again?

I'm new here 😊 at the moment I guess I am having 41 day cycles.
My period used to be a regular 30 days since I can remember, then I went on the pill for 18 months. Came off and everything went back to normal until 6 months off the pill. Now I've had 2 months of long cycles, just as myself and my partner decided we were going to ttc. Typical 🙄
Just started temp charting towards the end of my last cycle and there was a definite dip the day before I got af and its remained low since then so I am holding onto every hope I can muster that means I ovulated last month and I will hopefully ovulate this month too. So far I'm on day 16, using 2 fertility apps. One seems to be optimistic I might revert back to 30 day cycles and tells me it's my fertile window this week, although did an opk today and yesterday and only very very faint lines visible. My other app tells me I'll likely ovulate cd 28 so I guess it's just a waiting game.

I too am on furlough, first month in lockdown my cycles suddenly decided to go askew. Probably trying to keep me on my toes and liven up an otherwise pretty dull lockdown 🙄🙄 I too thought I was pregnant and since then me and my partner have decided to ttc. Last month I was 11 days late too so this could be the new regular for me 🤷‍♀️
Last month was our first month properly trying and I drove myself mad to obsession googling symptoms, and then my period was late once again so I went on a roller-coaster of excitement and hope, then to worry and dread.
This month I'm trying to be more chill. Don't know if I'm succeeding 😂

@Pol96 Thanks, literally all I do at the moment is read about getting pregnant - think I need to step away from the internet! I actually had a copper coil (not the pill) so my periods haven't changed. I'm a bit of a weirdo and have always tracked my periods and I'm fairly sure I ovulate most months (I usually get ovulation pain) but I've read that really long cycles can mean there's a problem with ovulation. It's difficult to know what to believe because there's so much conflicting info out there. I feel a bit naive because I had no idea there was so much involved with getting pregnant.

@Rosegold3112 Aw hi! I'm glad I'm not the only one! From reading all the threads it sounds like the obsessive symptom googling is normal. I'm only only CD8 period and my app is predicting CD23 for ovulation but I think it's a few days out. I haven't delved into the world of temp checking yet because I'm trying so hard not to be obsessive this early on in the TTC journey but I'm planning on being more vigilant with keeping an eye on cervical mucus this month.

@JanQi sorry you put the copper coil in your post. I just managed to miss it 🙄 I googled so much when I started trying my phone asked me if I was a robot 😂 if you don't already I'd start tracking bbt, if you're ovulating each month then there's a good chance you just need to time dtd.

@Rosegold3112 welcome, everyone here's really lovely, you sound like me with starting temping just before the end of a cycle, I also noticed a bug drop around af and was really interesting to see what my temp did throughout the cycle.

I've also seen that a lot of women's cycles have been messed up because of the lockdown

@Pol96 what day in your cycle are you at now? I keep varying from super positive to really low. I got upset today because a fertility app someone recommended to me wouldn't work properly and I went on a huge rant about how my body doesn't work and everything I touch to do with ttc doesn't work either 😂😂 I guess I might be failing at the not obsessing...
I also theorised so much about why I am being consistently late. I thought I was going through the menopause, and then I thought it was because I had no one to "sync" with. I am a danger to myself 😂
I definitely am interested to see how my chart goes! This month I think I am most focused on just making sure I ovulate.

@Rosegold3112 I'm actually almost 9 weeks pregnant now! I'm just invested in the girls on this threads journeys so I haven't left! I'm still just as bad at googling things, my searches have just changed from ttc to pregnancy ones. Charting definitely helped me, especially when I saw that I had ovulated. At least I knew that was working.
I use femometer, fertility friend and flo.. All seem to work okay for me x

How many months were you ttc? How long was your average cycle? Sorry all the personal questions.
I really hope I am ovulating. I just have this horrible feeling, like I know that there is something wrong, you know? I hope it's all in my head.
At the moment I'm using premom and ovia fertility. Someone recommended femometer to me and that's the one that wouldn't work for me. I also had fertility friend last month but it kept logging me out and not letting me back in so I had to backlog everything everytime. I just redownloaded it today and 🤞 fingers crossed so far its working! Took me ages to log everything 😂

@Rosegold3112 thank you 😊 no worries about the questions, 2 cycles trying, 1(and a bit) tracking with opks and temp, but also hadn't been preventing for about a year, so once I put my mind to it it happened much quicker than I thought. My cycles varied from around 30-50ish days but I have had some super long ones (124days) I've been off the pill since march/April 2018.
I also had the "something is wrong with me" feeling, I don't think it goes.. Even though I've conceived I won't believe it till I see the baby on the ultrasound.

We also haven't been using any preventative measures since I came off the pill in November, but we weren't really trying.
