Hi everyone who read this! My typical cycle is 34-37 days long but everyone I talk to seems to have shorter cycles. I'm looking for others like myself who have long cycles and are ttc :) we are trying for our first baby x

It would be so wonderful if we both got our bfps this month :) I'm pleased that my cycles are becoming shorter and more predictable anyway 🤩

Newbie0818 · 06/06/2020 08:21

@xoJellyBean it would 🤞🏼✨
I can’t made head or tail of temps lol. What was your temp yesterday?
According to positive opk yesterday today is ov day, my temps dropped but same as previous 🤷🏼‍♀️

@xoJellyBean if tomorrows is still 36.2 or more it might say that you ovulated

@Newbie0818 when I ovulated I got a positive opk the day before a big temp drop then a rise the next day

Fingers crossed for you both x

Newbie0818 · 06/06/2020 10:06

Thanks @pol95 :)

Newbie0818 · 06/06/2020 10:28

Don’t know if you ladies have heard of lunar cycling? Here’s some info if you’re interested www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.mindbodygreen.com/articles/how-to-sync-your-menstrual-cycle-with-the-moon--17614

It’s just blowing my mind that I got a dark opk yesterday and last night was a full moon 🌚

xoJellyBean · 06/06/2020 10:51

@Pol96 what did your temp look like as opposed to mine? I'm now staring at the literal defect chart thinking that's me :( lol

@Newbie0818 my mum always told me about the lunar cycle, I think it's why I didn't sleep that night haha I work in a psychiatric hospital and it's so true that incidents happen on a full moon! Doesn't surprise me that our cycles can be affected too

Pol96 · 06/06/2020 11:10

@xoJellyBean mine didn't go up by a lot if you look at the temps from before ovulation day..

@xoJellyBean I used to work in a psych ward too! All male acute, and it’s really true about the full moon- really odd things happened. Often aggressive things 😞 now I’m a teacher I find the exact same though, full moon and the kids are mad!

I wouldn’t worry too much about charts etc, I’m sure you don’t have a defect! Everyone is different x

hollywhooo · 06/06/2020 12:09

My new pack of OPKs arrived this morning so i did one just to see the line was literally non existent lol so ovulation has defo been and gone.
My app puts me at 2 DPO but i’m counting it as 4 DPO from when i think i had ov pains so 10ish days to go 🤷🏼‍♀️

Newbie0818 · 06/06/2020 12:28

@hollywhooo ooh you, me and @xoJellyBean are all so close together. Baby dust for all of us ✨

xoJellyBean · 06/06/2020 12:49

@Pol96 thanks for posting, that's really helpful. I just need to calm downnnnn and stop reading in to things lol

@hollywhooo @Newbie0818 we are all so close! I am 3dpo :) at least that'll help pass the tww🤩

OP posts:
Pol96 · 06/06/2020 12:59

@xoJellyBean I thought mine was like the luteal defect too.. I think its very common to assume the worst..

So emotional today.. And super anxious. Would like to hear from the midwife soon so I can find out when my scan will be.. Have any of you had a child already??

xoJellyBean · 06/06/2020 13:13

@Pol96 awww :( sorry to hear you're feeling like that! Would you consider going private? X

OP posts:
Newbie0818 · 06/06/2020 13:16

@Pol96 I’ve never had children before but I can imagine how nerve wracking it must feel. Like jellybean said, perhaps you could pay for an early private scan to alleviate any worries?

Pol96 · 06/06/2020 13:35

@xoJellyBean @Newbie0818 that's what's causing half the stress.. I will get a private scan of my dp can't come to the NHS scan, but would rather do it about 10/11 weeks so I can see more than a blob.. I want him to be at the first scan incase it's not good news so I'm not alone.. I haven't got any reason other than reading so many stories of mmc on MN to feel its not going well.. Never had any bleeding, cramps are minimal and other symptoms are becoming more prominent.. I've already had to buy new bras which is ridiculous at 7 weeks! I think I just need to stay of the pregnancy threads for a while and stick to this one, I'm so excited for you all so definitely can't leave this thread! Xx

hollywhooo · 06/06/2020 14:05

@Pol96 ah its all very exciting for you! I think an early scan sounds good too.
No children for me either, although my OH has a little girl.
@Newbie0818 @xoJellyBean i dont think i’m going to test early, i’m going to wait til at least 14 DPO if i can!

xoJellyBean · 06/06/2020 14:24

@Pol96 so far it's still one person at nhs scans so fingers crossed that you can bring your partner soon 🤞🏻 I know rightly I will be a nervous wreck myself! The internet/Mumsnet is so good for questions but it has also the horror stories too. Just stay with us 😆 have you told your family yet? Xx

OP posts:
xoJellyBean · 06/06/2020 14:24

@hollywhooo @Newbie0818 let's all test on the same day 😂🤞🏻 let the symptom spitting begin 😅 lol can't help myself!

OP posts:
Pol96 · 06/06/2020 14:27

@hollywhooo yeah I think I'll get one for a week or two before my nhs one if he can't come. My friend is having her 20week scan in a week and a bit and said she'll find out about partners for me as I've not had any contact with anyone since the receptionist at my gp saying she'll refer me when I was about 4+5.. Hopefully I'll hear from someone soon. I'm still testing as it doesn't seem real yet (apart from a few symptoms) will probably continue testing until I run out of the cheapies 😂

Lots of baby dust to you all xStar

Pol96 · 06/06/2020 14:29

@xoJellyBean my mum and best friend know and my dps dad knows.. Thinking of telling my dad on father's day, but making sure he knows its early etc.. I'm hoping as my scan wouldn't be for another 5ish weeks things might have changed by then 🤞 x

hollywhooo · 06/06/2020 14:54

I love Mumsnet but i’m awful for looking on the baby names board for my non existent baby hahahaaa. My boyfriend thinks i’m nuts!!!
Yessss lets all test the same day!! I’ve got no tests in the house and i’m going to make sure i dont buy any until i need them! Xx

Newbie0818 · 06/06/2020 16:55

@Pol96 totally get your thinking, I really hope partners can come when it comes to it for you! I’d keep testing if it was me too!

@hollywhooo @xoJellyBean I’ve had awful cramps on and off today so I think that’s a good thing?! Guess I’ll be 1dpo tomorrow assuming temps rise 🤷🏼‍♀️🙈 bit behind you guys. I probably won’t test until af due as I get really anxious about seeing the bfn!

Fujexa · 06/06/2020 17:03

Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to all this and hope it's ok if I ask a question! I'm 33 and hoping to start TTC soon. I came off the pill after 15yrs last Sept. It took almost 4 months until I had any sort of period - since then I've had a 9 week cycle and a 6 week cycle and now I'm on CD35. I decided to start using the Clearblue ovulation monitor this month; starting CD15, I got 2 days of low fertility readings and then was super excited to get a high fertility reading on CD17. The high fertility readings continued and within a day or 2 of this, I noticed the 2nd blue line was getting darker. However I continued just getting 'high fertility' readings every.single.day, and the 2nd line got lighter and lighter. I'm now on CD 35 and still getting the bloody high reading every day! Im wondering if I either ovulated, or failed to ovulate, early on and have a super long luteal phase? (Would it be still giving a high reading in this case?) Or if I might still ovulate and it's long follicular phases that are my problem? I'm planning to try to get a doctor's appointment soon but I wanted one cycle of testing under my belt first, so the doctor has more information to start from....

Fujexa · 06/06/2020 17:05

P.s. dont want to hijack, so if I'm better off starting a new thread just let me know! But thought someone here might have experienced similar with the long cycles
