Starting this thread for anyone TTC after a miscarriage. My MC was in December and I’ve had no joy since, but these threads have been wonderful for being amongst lovely people going through the same thing.

As always, sorry to anyone who finds themselves here and fingers crossed we all get our rainbows soon 🌈

I just want to give a message of hope to everyone and to please please keep trying! I went for my first scan in June last year to find there was an empty sack around 6 weeks in size. I was, in theory, 12 weeks and we had announced it and everything, I felt so stupid! We were absolutely devastated. It took a good five months for my periods to return to normal. I found out I was pregnant again in December but probably only 3 weeks and lost that almost straight away, I just had a very heavy period. Again this broke us but we decided to try one more time. I had a scan a couple of weeks ago and there were two teeny tiny heartbeats we are over the moon but staying cautiously optimistic until my 12 week scan on the 31st. Just hoping the husband can come as so many partners are not being allowed to scans and appointments. There is hope, I had genuinely assumed we were just not meant to have children and now we've been blessed with two all being well. There is light at the end of the tunnel just stay healthy and hopeful and it will happen xxx

Leok83 · 20/03/2020 21:11

Hi everyone.
I’m joining in from previous threads from jan/Feb/March. Had MMC and ERPC at 9 weeks start of January.
Have had 1 period since and now I’m 9DPO and got BFN and also some spotting and AF pains so will likely wake up to full af in the morning..really concerned my LP has gotten so short since MC as was also only 9 days after 1st ovulation post MC. Hopefully this cycle will be better.
Can’t believe it’s April already and still no luck😔

Here’s hoping April is a good month for us all🤞.

scrumdiddly123 · 21/03/2020 08:58

Morning ladies, joining from the March thread. I had a MMC on Feb 17th so have had a weird cycle after that. Been spotting for the last week, AF due today based on when I got a positive opk and bleeding is getting heavier so I hope she’s here and I can count today as CD1!
So second month trying for me, fingers crossed this a lucky month for us all!

TerribleImagination · 21/03/2020 10:46

@RachelStrickson Congrats lovey! That’s wonderful news ❤️ Crossing everything for you for those two gorgeous rainbows!

Sorry to see more ladies moving over here from the March thread..
@Leok83 I had a very short LP the first few months after MC and is only now settling. It had been 8/10 days a few time but last month got back up to 12. Not even sure I’m back to normal as I already have sore boobs so getting worried that it’ll be another short one but anyway I do think it takes a bit of time for your body to get back to normal and BFPs in the first cycle or so are probably the exception

scrumdiddly123 · 22/03/2020 09:44

@Kaylab2489 sorry for your loss. Sounds very similar to my experience. Had scan at 8 weeks and baby was only measuring 5. Thankfully I started bleeding the next day and everything came away naturally.
Do you remember what your first cycle was like after MC? x

Leok83 · 22/03/2020 10:59

@Sparkl thanks that’s good to know. It’s odd isn’t it how some people seem to bounce back and some even get BFP before first AF and then others seem to take months for the body to calibrate again. I try not to stress and think it’ll just come back to normal in its own time but it’s hard at times. LP was 11 days on cycle pre MC So short to start with so it’s only a couple days off I suppose.
How many DPO are you? Hopefully the sore boobs are a good sign! I had them from 1 dpo the cycle I conceived!

Dipsy77 · 22/03/2020 11:15

Hi All
I had a missed miscarriage I was 9 and a half week on the 17th February I chose to have medication but I continued to bleed for 3 weeks so had to have more tablets. I stopped bleeding a week ago and had a negative pregnancy test so thought everything was ok but I dtd last night and this morning I am cramping and bleeding again!, has anyone else experienced this ?, I am so fed up now and just want to try again x

courtneyrenna · 22/03/2020 11:32

Hi @Dipsy77 sorry for your loss
I found out at an early private scan on 25th feb 2020 that I had a missed miscarriage too. Was meant to be 11 weeks but baby stopped growing around 8 weeks.

I had to wait nearly a week for ERPC which I had 2nd march 20. Bled on and off after for a week. Thought it had stopped then DTD and experienced the same. Some bleeding after. And did for a few times we DTD after , I do think its normal. Especially If you've had a negative test now. Just doing the Deed is slightly aggravating something I guess.

I feel the same as you and feel quite deflated and impatient today

I've had a bfn test for a week now and have been doing ovulation tests since cd7 (ERPC classed as day1) and I got a peak on cd7... but I think that's because I still had hcg hormones... and the past 7 days I've had flashing smiley on CB ovulation tests .. so bit confused and just DTD roughly every other day

Others who have had a ERPC when did you see a peak ovulation? Seems too late in my cycle now to find a peak ... but then it took nearly two weeks to get a bfn pregnancy test so will everything be a bit delayed? E.g ovulation and period ? As does your cycle only really get going again when hcg levels down?
Hope you're all okay today Daffodil

Hi all, had a miscarriage about a week ago it wasn’t a planned pregnancy but this happening has made us realise that we do want a baby so decided we are going to try for one, last night was the first time of trying after the miscarriage and no matter how much I want to have a baby I couldn’t help but feel guilty for even trying for another one did anyone else go through this?

showmethegin · 22/03/2020 12:03

Hi Ladies, hope I can join. I had a miscarriage on Wednesday at 6+3 after 18 months of trying. It was the first cycle after my lap and dye procedure. They didn't find anything, but feels like they must have done something for us to get that BFP the first month after. Trying to stay positive that it means we'll be lucky pretty soon.

showmethegin · 22/03/2020 12:04

@Rasgar That's exactly how I feel

Rasgar · 22/03/2020 12:29

@showmethegin it’s horrible isn’t it, want a baby but just can’t help but feel guilty

Leok83 · 22/03/2020 13:20

So sorry to all of you joining for your losses. Xx

@courtneyrenna @Dipsy77 unfortunately I think the bleeding is so variable for everybody and our bodies all adjust differently. I know for mine I didn’t bleed much for a week after ERPC, then bled for a week and spotted for almost 4 weeks. Didn’t ovulate until 35 days after and didn’t get negative preg test until 43 days after (so did ovulate with HCG in system). 1st AF arrived at 44 days and after that AF spotted again for 2 weeks. I’m on my next cycle now and hoping there’ll be no spotting again after AF.
Pre MC cycles were regular 28 days.
I know I drove myself insane googling all of what should be normal post MC. I’ve had ultrasound and doc is happy I’m ok (although had swab done last week to rule out infection so waiting on results). It’s been a long stressful journey but I’ve just accepted now we need to wait for our bodies to do what they need to do to recover (and hopefully you guys will get there quicker then me!)

courtneyrenna · 22/03/2020 13:41

@leok83 sorry for your loss and your journey . Glad for you that things seem to be settling for you now and have been checked over. That's good the doctor has scanned you etc. Is that because of the length of you getting a BFN etc that you have been checked over? As I've just been told to phone EPU and tell them I have a BFN. Yeah I'm at that stage of googling whats normal and trying to make sense of the odd results I'm getting . You can't help it can you, you just want to be back to normal as soon as possible.

How did you test that you had ovulated ? I just use the CB connected advanced test kit. Used it like three months before we conceived in December 19 too.

TerribleImagination · 22/03/2020 15:35

Hi to everyone joining, I’m so sorry you’re all going through this.

For anyone who uses Clearblue OPK’s I’ve been blown away by their accuracy this week! I had a routine scan to check for ovarian cysts on Wednesday, where the sonographer told me my dominant follicle was 16mm and would likely pop an egg out 4 days later (so today). Yesterday morning I did my Clearblue OPK early morning and it was still flashing (so high fertility), 5 hours later it turned to peak! Absolutely spot on based on what the sonographer said, seeing as most women will ovulate usually 12-36 hours after their LH surge! It totally blew my mind it was that accurate!

Just wanted to share that with you all, in case anyone was thinking about using them 👍🏻

courtneyrenna · 22/03/2020 16:44

@terribleimagination wow amazing and good to know. ! And how accurate the sonographer was in saying when it would happen! Clever. Good luck for this cycle 🤞
I've never tested twice in one day before do you normally do that or just because of this info you had? :) Daffodil

Sparkl · 22/03/2020 20:33

Ah thanks @Leok83 I’m 6dpo. I wish it was a good sign but unfortunately I think it’s not in my case, never had them when I conceived and have had them consistently before AF so I’m not too hopeful. Still might sneak in an end of March test if my LP lasts til then!

Sorry to see so many joining here. Hopefully a place to share experiences and support one another

Sparkl · 22/03/2020 20:35

@TerribleImagination I have found them so accurate too, haven’t had any scans but with CM and temping they’re always spot on.
That’s so interesting though that the sonographer can predict it so accurately too

TerribleImagination · 22/03/2020 20:52

@courtneyrenna Yeah I usually test twice a day from when I get the flashing smileys. I’ve only once caught the surge in the morning, and that was from testing around 930am. Most times I don’t get it until the early afternoon, so I always do another test to make sure I don’t miss it.

OP posts:
TerribleImagination · 22/03/2020 20:54

@Sparkl I know! I was blown away by her! So accurate. She also told me to not DTD until last night (so day before ovulation). We’d already DTD on CD8, so had a 4 day gap when we’d normally be every other day until the peak, but I figured she knows her stuff so gave her method a go! She said 3 days in a row from Saturday. So will see if that works 🤞🏻

OP posts:
Leok83 · 22/03/2020 20:57

@courtneyrenna I know it’s so hard to move on until your body does. I actually got a scan cause was told I had a fibroid when I was getting ERPC done. So when I mentioned it to my GP she advised I go for scan. Must have been hormonal cause they couldn’t find it on the scan 6 weeks post MC, said everything looked normal. I told GP was still getting positive PTs at 3 weeks so she did regular bloods until HCG reached

Hayleylou89 · 22/03/2020 21:25

How is everyone?? Happy Mothers day to u all... sad sad day :( but i was gifted with the end of my first AF since my loss which is good enough for me...Im CD6 and i feel like my body is all reset and ready to go this cycle...
