Starting this thread for anyone TTC after a miscarriage. My MC was in December and I’ve had no joy since, but these threads have been wonderful for being amongst lovely people going through the same thing.

As always, sorry to anyone who finds themselves here and fingers crossed we all get our rainbows soon 🌈

We are all here together @ktl1a ❤ and fear not, I bet I am just as obsessed as you are! I'm not stop googling and reading threads of people who have gone on to have successful pregnancies after miscarriages! People say all the right things to me but it never helps, nothing rpeople can say can make us feel better, in my experience anyway. All the googling/reading actually helps me keep hope ❤.

Sending you all the luck in the world! x

Hayleylou89 · 17/03/2020 13:01

@terribleimagination

So I'm joining you from the march thread AF Just showed her face ... but sort of bitter sweet as its my first af since my loss so its kinda like a reset button ...here we go again December babies all round 🙏 x

Minibea · 17/03/2020 14:08

Where is everyone at in their cycle and when are you planning on testing? I’m currently on CD 20 so think I might test on Monday 23rd which will be CD 26. Not holding out loads of hope this month, but I’ve got a new pack of internet cheapies so doubt I’ll be able to resist testing!

Ejb86 · 17/03/2020 15:13

@minibea I'm on cd8, self isolated for 2 weeks due to little man having cough and temp. This is my 4th cycle of trying after losing my twins at 16weeks back in September. AF is due at the start of April so I'll be testing somewhere around then.

Ilithya · 17/03/2020 15:35

As my miscarriage was on 16th Feb, I have no idea where I am, it's been 4 weeks 2 days and if I was on a standard cycle by period should have been here Sat/Sun, apart from some pink/brown spotting at the weekend nothing yet!

Every day period doesnt arrive I'm happy but also worried because I'd rather know for sure where i am in my cycle! Going to buy some more OPKs this week. x

Minibea · 17/03/2020 16:06

@ejb86 That sounds tough having to self-isolate with your little boy. Hope you’re coping ok! I also lost twins last year, although I wasn’t as far along as you, only 10 weeks. I never really got my head round the idea of twins but I think it made the loss harder to get over because I went from being expecting two babies to none -and now wondering if I’m ever going to get pregnant again.

Rasgar · 17/03/2020 16:51

I have just had a miscarriage a few days ago I also keep thinking weather I will get pregnant again if there’s maybe some kind of problems with me? But researching it says most miscarriages happen due to when the baby gets conceived they get either too much or too little chromosomes which stops them developing properly and most women go on to have healthy pregnancies, reading this is a little reassuring so hoping for the best, hope everyone is ok ❤️

TerribleImagination · 17/03/2020 19:50

@Rasgar Plenty of people get pregnant again straight after a miscarriage, but annoyingly plenty of people don’t as well 🤷🏻‍♀️

My friend miscarried a month or two after I did and she got pregnant again without getting a period, whereas I’ve had 3 periods since the MC. I don’t think there’s any rhyme or reason to it sadly 😢

Hi all!

TTC again after miscarriage in January. I read that you may be more fertile in the consecutive few months after a MC, however I had no joy this month even after doing everything 'right'. My body felt all of the classic signs this month that I felt in January, but AF showed up this morning.

Does anyone else just feel sheer anxiety around TTC and the motions of TTC in general? I'm trying to this positively, but each month that AF shows up is like another loss.

Hoping April is our month 🤞🏼🌈.

ktl1a · 18/03/2020 08:36

@Ilithya thank you so much for your kind words, it really does become an obssession doesn't it! My husband tells me not to google everything but doing that is the only thing keeping me sane!

Af is due Friday or Saturday so I'm trying not to test till Sunday (I hate seeing a negative test). Haven't really had any symptoms other than cramping a few days ago but I got cramping both in the cycle I conceived and in all the others that I didn't! The only real symptom of pregnancy for me was sore boobs but I don't have any of that this time so it's not looking good for this cycle :(

Has anyone else in the tww got any signs?

Ejb86 · 18/03/2020 08:49

@Minibea I have found that it's not the loss of the babies that upset me, more the loss of the future that was all planned out in my head. I'd bought the double buggy and started to buy their clothes. I'd known from 8 weeks that they were extremely high risk though. I had MCMA twin girls and everything that could go wrong for them did. Sad

Ilithya · 18/03/2020 11:12

@ktl1a absolute obsession but reading success stories does help me and I've learnt so much about charting and how late a BFP can be, although I'm not sure if that makes the BGNs more disappointing!

I took a FRER test this morning and started white, I just wish AF would turn up so I can start again and know where I am with my cycle again. I did pick up some ovulation strips so at least I can keep an eye on that in case I haven't even ovulated yet from my miscarriage. I've had an aching back and terrible right hip pain which is what I had when I was pregnant but I think that's just wishful thinking, no sore boobs here. I'm sending you all the luck for Sunday!!! Do keep me updated!

@ejb86 I know exactly what you mean, people quote statistics to you about how common it is or how next time will be better but that doesnt help with the nursery you planned or the names you and your partner chatted about. It's just the worst situation ever, huge ❤ to you all. x

FreshRoseBunch · 18/03/2020 11:21

Hi all, so glad I have found this thread. Had our MC end of Jan. I knew things weren't great from the start as I was in alot of pain with terrible cramping. Eventually bled it out at about 5 weeks after getting a very faint positive. Was horrible.
We started trying again a few weeks after. I am currently 2 days late (regular cycle is 31 and it is 33). I have just taken a test (was an late morning pee as my morning one was at 4am!) but it was negative :(
It is very odd for me to be late but this is also my first period since the MC so I am wondering whether that could have affected my cycle a bit.....
This is just such an anxious time I feel like I'm constantly about to throw up...

Also just to say that other than nausea, I don't feel anything. No pregnancy symptoms but also no period symptoms (which I tend to get quite strongly when I'm due). I'm incredibly confused :(

ELM7 · 18/03/2020 12:32

Hey Ladies AF got me today so joining you for the next month.

This TTC is so frustrating hate that you can do everything to try but that it’s still not enough and I can’t control it. So April is my month to sneak in a 2020 due date and also to be pregnant by the time my twins would of been due in May! Here’s hoping anyway. xx

TerribleImagination · 18/03/2020 20:21

I had a scan today to check for ovarian cysts (because I’ve been constantly bloated since the MC in Dec!)... All clear, no cysts! I’m CD9 so I asked her let me know what was going on in there 😆 My dominant follicle is 16mm and on my left ovary. She said it should pop an egg out in about 4 days! Told me to do nothing for now, then DTD Saturday, Sunday and Monday for the best chance! I’m still using ClearBlue advanced OPK, but think I’m gonna do as she says and see what happens! 🤞🏻

TerribleImagination · 18/03/2020 20:22

And she also said my uterine lining is thickening up exactly as it should be for this stage in my cycle! And apparently my womb looks lovely 🤣 best but weirdest compliment I’ve ever been given 😆

@TerribleImagination that's such good news! At least you know everything is tickety boo in there. I was booked at GP but cancelled when I found out they weren't doing face to face appointments anymore.

My fertility issues can wait until all this cv stuffnhas died down. In the meantime, we'll just keep trying! I'm hoping that the unusual bleeding and pain I had this AF are a sign of my body clearing itself out and trying to get back to normal and that this will be my month. I worked out my due date would be around 13th Dec if we hit it lucky this time, 8 days before my little man's birthday. Xx

TerribleImagination · 19/03/2020 09:19

@Ejb86 Exactly, that’s a great attitude to have! At least us lot TTC through all this will have plenty of time on our hands for it 😂

Honestly I think AF’s after miscarriage are so unpredictable! I know each of mine since has been different, so I do think sometimes it’s just our bodies doing whatever they need to do to get ready again!

Crossing everything for you for this month lovey! ❤️

Hello everyone can I join please?

Sorry to hear about all of your losses. I miscarried at nine weeks on Saturday. Still bleeding at the moment but thankfully haven’t needed any medical intervention and nature has taken its course. We are looking to ttc straight away.

Trouble is I’m still breastfeeding my son which has been affecting my fertility. My periods didn’t return until January when I was 13 months pp. I conceived on the first cycle after that but miscarried. Who knows when my cycle will be back now? Very frustrating!

To those who have said their friends/ family don’t talk much about this I have found this too. A close friend has paid no interest at all in my ttc journey when I’ve always been there for them. I’ve not told them about the mc or pregnancy. I’ve found strength in online friends instead. Times like this you learn who your friends are. 😟

Hayleylou89 · 19/03/2020 20:14

@Mommybear05 so sorry for ur loss and good luck this next cycle

@terribleimagination how did you end up getting these tests they sound great would love to know what is going on inside?

Iv stocked up on these goodies for ttc this month im only CD3 still mid AF and first AF following my loss but cant wait to see if these goodies work aswell as preseed 🤞🏻 x

Mommybear05 · 19/03/2020 21:49

@Hayleylou89 thank you. You too. I’ve been taking those purple ttc vitamins too. Here’s hoping they work well. Also I looked at the clear blue OPKs but they’re so expensive! I put them back on the shelf 😟

Hayleylou89 · 19/03/2020 21:53

@Mommybear05
Iv read the seven seas can legnthen ur cycle so im hoping it doesnt with mine as there already 35-38 days 🙏... and i know it was expensive but worth every penny if i know for certain i ovulated as the cheap opks dont fully reassure me although ill be using them alongside this cb monitor x

TerribleImagination · 19/03/2020 23:23

@Hayleylou89 I was referred by the GP because I’ve been super bloated all the time since the miscarriage. I booked the appointment because I started to get pelvic pain and needing to wee lots more, so wanted to rule out cysts or anything nasty. All clear on all fronts, and result was getting to find that useful nugget out!

Ooh and also I use the Seven Seas TTC and they haven’t lengthened my cycle 👍🏻 fingers crossed they don’t for you either!
