Hi everyone šŸ’•

Currently still have the Mirena coil in which I’m wanting to have taken out in may, have a DD who is 3 and wanting to start TTC from June onwards. Hoping to have a spring/summer baby so I can time it with my toddler going to school.

Has anyone got any story’s with conceiving after the Mirena coil or looking to conceive around may/June 😘

Xx

Sorry to hear about your 11 week miscarriage @Geepipe, that must have been hard!

I’ve also been considering starting OPKs to try and get a better handle on DTD at the right times. I think I’ll see how the first cycle trying goes and maybe buy some for the next if I have no luck. I just don’t want to end up obsessing too much and I have a feeling I might

Geepipe · 15/04/2020 19:59

Thank you :). That sounds like a good idea. Does anyone use clue the period app? I do and it seems really accurate at predicting even with my slightly irregular cycles

bez91 · 15/04/2020 20:53

@Geepipe she is 2 and a half. I've never really tracked them to be honest, I'm trying to refrain being obsessive about it and just see what happens, if it gets to a few months in and still no luck I'll probably track but want to try and remove the pressure šŸ™ˆ

Geepipe · 16/04/2020 10:21

Yeah i think theres often so much pressure with opks. I read that grapefruit juice is supposed to be really good for cm to drink a glass a day even diluted so i might give it a try. I got a bottle of preseed.

Geepipe · 17/04/2020 11:52

Hi guys. Im pretty sure im having a chemical pregnancy. I started having the same symptoms of my last pregnancy last week and yesterday started bleeding very heavily loads of clots. Its heavier than ever. Im hoping this wont throw out my cycles out of wack.

Hope everyones doing good.

2020mission · 19/04/2020 00:45

@Geepipe so sorry to hear that. How many weeks along would you have been? My cycle continued as normal after the chemical I had in January so hopefully you’ll be the same. Although it was only at 4 weeks that happened and I would have thought it was a period as normal if I hadn’t tested early. Hope you’re doing ok.

Geepipe · 19/04/2020 11:43

Thank you i would have been 4 weeks so i hope my cycle remains normal. I had a feeling i was pg as i never got sore boobs until i was pg last time and i had that for a week then my bleeding has been the same as my mc bleed. In all my 17 years of periods its never done that. Im on day 4 of heavy bright bleeding so hopefully i ovulate normally after this.

Hi everyone how are you all??
Can’t believe we are nearly in may!! Not so great timing TTC as I can’t get my coil out šŸ˜‚ everywhere is closed and I am not even going to attempt to get it out myself!
Hope everyone is keeping safe xx

Hey šŸ‘‹šŸ»

April has flew in! I had planned to start TTC again around 22nd May so still a few weeks to go for me. That’s annoying you are stuck with the coil but hopefully you will get the chance to have it removed soon. Is it early May you were planning to start?

stickytoffeepud2412 · 26/04/2020 19:45

@2020mission

I wrote this thread back in February so the months have flew can’t believe we are in may now!

Aw that’s good any reason for the 22nd may?? Not long to go! And no preferably June to the middle of June really. My DD starts school next September so would really like To conceive anytime from August onwards so that I’m off for when my daughter goes to school and I can spend some time with the baby.

@stickytoffeepud2412 nothing special about 22nd May, it’s just my next fertile window! We were having a break for a couple of cycles after some failed attempts including a chemical in January and with all the virus chaos. Don’t want to delay any longer though so back to it soon. I would kind of prefer for it to happen in June so that we’d have the baby in Spring. That sounds ideal having the time off when your daughter starts school šŸ¤ž

mohacha · 26/04/2020 20:55

Hi, I thought I would join you.
We are TTC for 6th month now and after a few irregular periods for no reasons I am back in the game šŸ˜€.
Just wondering when my ovulation will occur.. my last two cycles have been 45 days long.. suddenly up to 45 from 28 days (26yo). So I am very confused to whether count 10 days after the first day of my last period or 20 😤 haha.
Ovulation tests don't really work for me.. always showing faint positive.
Thank you and good luck to everyone in May! šŸ™

stickytoffeepud2412 · 26/04/2020 21:17

@2020mission duh šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø Totally didn’t think of that! I have the Mirena in and haven’t had a period since 2017 so really not sure what my cycle will be like come then! And we’re not even in may yet, I’m jumping the gun lol.

I’m so sorry for your chemical pregnancy, how are you feeling now?

Spring baby sounds good! I’m not bothered either way just as long as it’s after may! My daughter is Christmas Eve so I would very much like to avoid another winter baby šŸ˜€šŸ˜€ x

Hi @mohacha welcome!
Bless you, were you on contraception for a long time before TTC?? Our bodies are absolutely crazy aren’t they and can definitely tell when we are anxious/stressed trying to get pregnant ha!

In all honest I would just cover all bases by having sex every other day or every 2 days from day 10 to day 20 if that’s the case! Xx

mohacha · 26/04/2020 22:57

@stickytoffeepud2412 thank you! This sounds like a good advise. At the end of the day my tests were alright back in August. I just pat too much attention on the negatives.

I never had any pills.. always looked at the natural protection just so I will not be worried one day when I want kids. Which obviously worked the other way around haha. šŸ™

stickytoffeepud2412 · 28/04/2020 18:29

@mohacha I think we always pay attention to the negatives don’t we! I remember with my first I never used them and just went off how I felt down below and my Ovia app!

Ahhh that’s very brave!! Fingers crossed you get your bfp soon lovely xx

So rang my family planning clinic where I had my coil put in and they aren’t doing any procedures until after Covid has cleared up! Hoping it’s before July Hmm
How is everyone else x

WafflesandPancakess · 03/05/2020 12:11

Hi OP!

I’m in the exact same situation. DH and I have just agreed to TTC ASAP. DD is 2 in July and we would love a max 3 year age gap.

I have a coil. Haven’t tried to call them yet but will on Monday? Is it worth it?

Could I say it causes me mood problems/ side effects? (Not completely untrue).

I know it’s not emergency. It’s just so upsetting having to wait.

I googled trying to take it out myself. But no way is it worth the risk. There’s going to be a huge waiting list after all this.

Wannabemummy25 · 03/05/2020 13:56

Hi, new to this thread but I am watching with interest as to how long it takes after coil removal. I have had the mirena since Nov 2018 and not had a period since but I am pretty sure I still ovulate as I get regular cramping at the same time each month which feels like before my period. I am planning on having mine out next June but will be interested to see how long it takes people to get pregnant and if I should have it out earlier!

WafflesandPancakess · 04/05/2020 11:24

@Wannabemummy25 you can get pregnant straight away. I think it took me about 3 months last time with tracking ovulation.

Called the clinic and can’t have my coil removed :(

I hope in a few weeks/ months this will change. I know pregnancy is a choice so not ā€˜essential’ but at the end of the day contraceptive removal is healthcare and they need to provide the service.

stickytoffeepud2412 · 04/05/2020 11:43

@wafflesandpancakess

I work in obs and gynae and I would definitely not recommend removing your own coil. The damage that you could do to your cervix which might take a while to heal. It’s absolutely crappy that you can’t have it taken out, I feel the same but if it isn’t due to expire or isn’t causing you any discomfort or emergency problems then we have just got to suck it up and wait for Covid to go and get booked in as soon as possible.
X

Yep you’re totally right. I’m sure there are lots of us in similar situations. Hopefully it won’t be much longer but what will be will be. Smile

bez91 · 17/05/2020 20:38

Hey how's everyone getting on? Any light at the end of the tunnel for anyone having coil removed?
I've took my last pill today, don't plan to start TTC until July but want my body to get back to some kind of normal... bit nervous, cue the acne, probably weight gain and raging hormones šŸ™ˆ also managed to loose a little weight this week šŸ¤žšŸ¼

2020mission · 17/05/2020 23:38

Hey, I’m currently just waiting for AF to arrive and pass so I can start my first cycle TTC after having a couple of months break. I’m still a little apprehensive about becoming pregnant with the virus around, but we can’t wait forever and I’m in my 30s so the clock is ticking!

Hopefully your cycles will get back to normal quickly for you to get started in July. I should be testing around 12th June.

stickytoffeepud2412 · 18/05/2020 14:00

Hi @bez91
Coil still firmly in place šŸ˜‚ not sure when the family planning clinics will be open to remove them etc but again wasn’t planning to start trying until end of June anyway but if it’s longer then so be it... I’m just trying to avoid a September baby ha! That’s excellent news about the weight loss!!

Xx
