Hi everyone šŸ’•

Currently still have the Mirena coil in which I’m wanting to have taken out in may, have a DD who is 3 and wanting to start TTC from June onwards. Hoping to have a spring/summer baby so I can time it with my toddler going to school.

Has anyone got any story’s with conceiving after the Mirena coil or looking to conceive around may/June 😘

Xx

Thanks girls!
Had a lovely day with DD and DH we went for an Italian near ours then my dads ex wife šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø (I get onnbetter with her than my own dad) stopped over at ours and we went out for drinks to the sea front and was home in bed by half 11 wine, dined and 69ed Grin

@GeePipe
Me and DH aren’t at full backing he wants to wait til I’ve qualifed in 2022 ffs whereas I’m prepared to take a year out and start trying end of June onwards so we are still debating.

@teacup34 I looked at obesity statistics yesterday in relation to pregnancy and it’s quite frightening and I’m currently at the top end overweight nearly obese and want to be at least the lower end of overweight when we conceive so once I shift this hangover and cake tomorrow I’m doing calorie counting and my fitness pal!

@Buns05 welcome! I have a Christmas Eve baby and as much as I like it I detest having to pay nursery fees for so long so agree with where you are coming from! And also frustrating about having to wait for so long but even if you start trying June/July onwards it could take you a while to conceive!

@Teacup34 aw, how old is your youngest? We talked about it a while ago, probably last Spring but I was on the pill at the time and just trying to figure out a good time to come off it! We had an all inclusive holiday booked last year so didn't want to do anything before then so we could have one last 'proper' adults only holiday!! Priorities and all that Confused hahaha I guess there just isn't ever a 'good' time. I just dont feel like I can be pregnant as bridesmaid, especially when they've already bought the dresses Hmm

Buns05 · 15/02/2020 18:49

@stickytoffeepud2412 yeah, I think we may start trying in the summer. Not sure how I'd cover not drinking at the weddings but I'm sure I'd figure a way if needed!! Like you say, it could take a while anyway

Teacup34 · 15/02/2020 20:05

Glad you enjoyed your birthday sticky toffee sounds lovely!! Yeah I agree there are a lot of complications from being overweight during pregnancy I'm at the same point as you so losing weight is really important to me. My youngest turned 3 in December Buns I had a 17 month gap between her and my second DD it wasn't something I wanted to repeat lol. I don't blame you for wanting a last adults holiday I remember those days šŸ˜‚.

GeePipe · 15/02/2020 20:34

Glad you enjoyed your birthday! Whats your goal weights if thats not too personal a question? Even though i have just got into the healthy catagory finally (after 3 months of hard work) i still want to gain an extra half a stone to 8.5 stone just to be sure im peak healthy if thats a thing. In my midwife appointment she said i was too underweight and prescribed me asprin that i never took. Has anyone been looking at any tricks to use in future to help fertility? I read somewhere royal jelly capsules are really good so i got 2 bottles on offer in holland and barratt.

Teacup34 · 15/02/2020 20:52

I think for my height I should be 9.5stone but I'd settle for 10.5 I'm going stone by stone everytime I lose a stone I will reset my goal to the stone below if that makes sense? I can't really help with aiding fertility I was lucky to get pregnant fairly quickly each time.

GeePipe · 15/02/2020 21:19

That sounds like a really sensible way to do it really. Plus each step is a goal and a move in the right direction :)

stickytoffeepud2412 · 15/02/2020 21:27

@GeePipe thankyou! and erm 10 stone 7 im 13 stone at the moment absolutely horrified but i know i wont get to that by the time we want to start trying id ideally like to be under 12 stone. why would they prescribe you aspirin to gain weight? just looked at a study on it i never even knew about it!! wow you learn new things every day ha. Im just trying to lose weight and remembering from last time use a basal temp to monitor ovulation.

@teacup34 thanks!!! my DD was 3 on the 24th Dec and i dont want another xmas baby i love xmas but its so expensive! losing weight is hard isnt it but it so important and less risks in pregnancy so im gonna do all i can to get there!!

@Buns05 i think youd find a way although i hope your super lucky and conceive first month!!

My dd is 8th of Dec and that feels to close to Xmas!! It is hard I was really craving chocolate earlier so I had an apple and some frozen grapes it wasn't the same but I didn't give in lol

GeePipe · 19/02/2020 23:06

Thats good you didnt give in! Im awful for eating sweets all day. I went to tesco and bought a tub of icecream which i ate for breakfast. Dp told me im fat and he wasnt joking. (Although he meant it as a bizarre compliment by saying he liked it and wanted me to gain more.) Grin hows everyone been today?

lauram31 · 20/02/2020 00:13

Hey ladies .. hope it’s ok to join in here :-)

I’m a 31 year old mum to an 11 year old son

Me and my partner have decided after a year of much deliberation to take the plunge and try for a baby ( we have been together a little over 3 years )

So I’ve been on my depo injection for 11 years straight and it runs out at the end of the month . A little nervous but very excited !
Also hoping we won’t be waiting a long time :-)

GeePipe · 20/02/2020 00:22

Hi laura :) how exciting. When are you planning on trying? As soon as depo ends?

stickytoffeepud2412 · 23/02/2020 09:26

Well my diet is going swimmingly well.. not.
Had an awful week towards the end and then had fish and chips last night from fish shop and some drumstick squashies. Just cant get my head in the game but I know I have to. At work today so brought a stir fry and fruit.
How is everyone else doing?
@lauram31 hi!! aw sounds so good are you going to start trying straight away or waiting for a few months??

OP posts:
lauram31 · 23/02/2020 11:10

Hey , yes pretty much as soon as this depo is done with . Yes very exciting though I think it may take a while to happen though due to how long I have been on the depo . We have holidays booked in September and October so would be nice if it happened anytime after may time ! X

bez91 · 23/02/2020 12:18

Can I join? Looking to start ttc #2 anytime from July. Not madly - will just come off the pill after they run out and see what happens.

We've decided then as our house extension will be finished so no stress of the work with a newborn and I'll be entitle to my full maternity allowance at work :)

stickytoffeepud2412 · 23/02/2020 15:20

@lauram31 fantastic! is the depo the injection? I always get that and the implant mixed up.
We have a holiday to CP in sept then Lanzarote in Nov so anytime really between July and Nov to conceive would be good just in time for my DD to go to school!

Hi @bez91how old is your #1? Ah that sounds a good idea, we always had the intention to wait til DD is at school and she starts next year and even though im on the coil not sure how long it will take after to conceive so we shall see!

OP posts:
bez91 · 23/02/2020 15:53

Hi @stickytoffeepud2412 DD is 2, if all goes to plan she would be 3 and a half by the time a sibling comes along but I know it doesn't always work that way! Waiting until your DD starts school is a good idea and will
sure help her settle in and make it much easier for pick ups/drop offs.

My mat leave once I hit 2 years service will give me 6 months off at full pay so seemed sensible to wait!

X

stickytoffeepud2412 · 23/02/2020 16:08

@bez91 im a student but I work bank shifts so will qualify for maternity allowance and that is it but seeing as my DD will be at school hopefully by the time a sibling comes along wont have childcare to pay for and like you said do the school run. She turned 3 in December and I don't want another December baby again neither do I want a September baby so not really got much of a window ha ha!

mat leave sounds great I had that with my DD this time round will be different. July will soon be here before you know it! x

Hi Laura, Hi Bez. Don't worry sticky toffee you can get back on track we all have a slip now and then!! I've had a weird stomach bug felt so sick all I ate yesterday was a bit of toast and salt and vinegar crisps not healthy but was all I fancied ā˜¹ļø

OrangeBird · 23/02/2020 18:15

Hello everyone. I hope you don't mind me joining in as wellSmile
My OH and I are planning to start ttc in June /July. I'm currently still on the mirena coil which I'll have removed in May ish I think. I also have to come off my meds/change some of them because of my autoimmune disease and I have to wait for them to leave my system. They aren't compatible with pregnancy unfortunately. Anyway I wish I could start ttc right now and feel like June is years away. I hope we can help each other to make the wait less annoying Grin

Teacup34 · 23/02/2020 20:11

Hi OrangeBird, don't worry June will be here before you know it!! And hopefully we will be on here looking forward to our bfp!!

bez91 · 23/02/2020 21:29

Hi @Teacup34 & @OrangeBird! Glad I found this little thread so we can all look forward to it together!

Looks like a few of us have some weight loss goals/health goals too before conceiving, me included 😊

stickytoffeepud2412 · 24/02/2020 10:00

Morning ladies!

Hi @orangebird welcome!! Ohh found someone else on the Mirena coil ! I’ve never had it before so not sure how it’ll affect my ovulation once it comes out! June will be here soon already practically March!

I don’t even know how we are going to find the time to even DTD šŸ˜‚ probably just gonna have to do it all month so I don’t start over analysing my ovulation period haha!

Hope your feeling better soon @Teacup34

Back on the diet again today and it’s snowing so heavily here struggling to get to uni!

OP posts:
OrangeBird · 24/02/2020 10:16

I'm so glad I found this group and I agree with you @bez91. We can motivate each other to get to our final goalSmile
@stickytoffeepud2412 I am a little bit worried about ovulation as well but I hope that my cycle will go back to normal fairly quickly. My periods stopped as soon as I had the coil put in and nothing since then. So I have no idea whether they will just come back? Confused I'm planning to just DTD randomly to not get too obsessed but we haven't even start yet and I'm already looking at baby clothes Blush. Good luck with your dietSmile
I am off to have another blood test this morning to check on the level of one of my medication that I stopped in November (it takes 6 months to be out of the system). I hope the levels have gone down

Geepipe · 25/02/2020 22:42

How is everyone doing? We dont have snow here which is kind of disapointing.
