Hi everyone šŸ’•

Currently still have the Mirena coil in which I’m wanting to have taken out in may, have a DD who is 3 and wanting to start TTC from June onwards. Hoping to have a spring/summer baby so I can time it with my toddler going to school.

Has anyone got any story’s with conceiving after the Mirena coil or looking to conceive around may/June 😘

Xx

I'm excited for you geepipe and I think you are making the right decision to start ttc now. Everyone always has an opinion on everything and if it feels right for you and your partner then off you go. And as you said you now have plenty of time on your handGrin my OH mentioned the same thing the other day to be honest. But unfortunately we have to wait for my medication to leave the system. So we can't change our dates.
I went to the shop this morning because we were low on milk and so far I haven't found any. Just empty shelves. I understand your frustration teecup. Anyway stay save guys Smile

Such a difficult time. We always planned to start TTC in July, well not pressured TTC but I originally planned to stop my contraception when they run out mid May and take extra precautions until July to get a natural period in between and see what happens.

Now contemplating ordering my repeat contraception pills and see what pans out in the world.

Morning ladies how is everyone? How is everyone coping in this pandemic it’s actually so scary and crazy what’s happening with the world.
Hopefully still planning to have my coil taken out in June/July depending on when everything returns to normal but we shall see.

Stay safe ladies x x x

Geepipe · 26/03/2020 13:08

We havent started yet. i think im due to ovulate this week but dp has low sex drive so im not pushing it at the moment. Oh how are your shifts going? That must be stressful still being there.

OrangeBird · 27/03/2020 18:38

Hey everyone, I'm glad you guys are doing okay. @stickytoffeepud2412 sounds like your life is pretty stressful at the moment. I hope you do get a few minutes to yourself every day to catch your breath!!! @Geepipe how exciting that you are ready to ttc even though this month might be a write off!! I'm at home all day as well and it just feels weird. I don't know when we'll actually be able to start ttc now because of the coil. Anyway guys stay saveSmile

Geepipe · 27/03/2020 19:54

Thanks orange hope you are doing well! Dp drunkenly told me today he will have a baby with me as long as i promise his 1st son wont be treated any differently which i said obviously he wont be. Im trying to remain positive in the face of cv

Geepipe · 04/04/2020 21:34

How is everyone doing?

stickytoffeepud2412 · 06/04/2020 19:05

@GeePipe Surviving!! Working loads, trying to do uni assignments! Juggling looking after DD and drinking lots of gin ha! How about you?

OP posts:
Geepipe · 08/04/2020 14:41

@stickytoffeepud2412 i cant imagine how busy you are right now! Im the opposite in i have nothing to do. Me and dp have had loads of arguments because he is a very very difficult person to be with anyway but isolation is making him a nightmare. But we are surviving. I have started doing 10 mins of gentle stretching a day as ive gained weight and am not happy about it but due to formally being very underweight i want to be just on the level of healthy.

OrangeBird · 08/04/2020 18:31

@stickytoffepud2412 I feel for you. Sounds like your life is really busy. At least the gin is keeping you sane Wink @Geepipe being in isolation is difficult. I think trying to have a decent routine is a good start. I do a little workout every day and it seems to lift my spirits a little bit.
Let's hope this is over soon

Geepipe · 08/04/2020 20:17

Hi Orangebird how are you keeping? Yeah dp wont stick to routines he stays up until 7/8/9am on playstation ffs. Usually im not too fussed its just annoying especially when he drinks too much and spends all night on the phone to other people incl ex. But oh well. I have a raging headache today i dont know if its eye strain or viral as ive taken paracetamol and had a 2 hour nap and still have it a bit.

Geepipe · 15/04/2020 17:02

Update dp said to me the other night in bed we can ttc next month. Hows everyone doing?

bez91 · 15/04/2020 18:17

@Geepipe that's great, best of luck to you - we're still aiming for July (don't want to conceive too early or won't get my really good benefits through work as need to be there 2 years)
I've started taking my folic acid this week and will be stopping my pill when the last one runs out in a couple of weeks 😊
Just need to loose that little bit of belly I have before it gets bigger again šŸ™ˆ

Geepipe · 15/04/2020 18:21

@bez91 how exciting! Are you taking any other vitamins/supliments? Ive been taking folic acid (when i remember) for ages and have just added vit c and d. I take them seperate as i heard a few horror stories about some pregnancy vitamins changing peoples cycles. I know i took a supliment once that changed mine so not worth the risk imo.

bez91 · 15/04/2020 18:31

@GeePipe nothing else at the moment. I just took folic acid up until conceiving with my little girl then pregnacare supplements when I was pregnant.

Are you cycles regular? I never had a period for 8 years whilst on cerazette before I conceived which was convenient. Then since my little girl I'm taking the same and literally have a period every 3 months šŸ™ˆ I've been logging them on Apple Health and found a setting this week to enable "period prediction notification" - I'd like to see them try šŸ˜†

Geepipe · 15/04/2020 18:46

Oh blimey. How olds your little girl? My cycles vary by about 10 days each month so not like clockwork but at least im guarenteed a period each month. Im day 29 today so period could come any time. Then a week later ttc time. 25-35 days usually.

CMM20 · 15/04/2020 18:54

Hey, is it too late to join 😊?! Plan is to start TTC next month! AF is due 5th May and then it will be all systems go. We're both so excited. Very tempted to try this month- we are just slightly reluctant due to what's going on in the world atm and also Jan due date- I know that sounds crazy but I grew up with a best friend with a Jan birthday and she's always hated it so put us off slightly. Would be great to go through the journey with you guys!

Geepipe · 15/04/2020 19:01

Hey CMM20 welcome! Thats really exciting! Its deffo nerve wracking at this time but as far as im concerned this crisis wont be over for a long time and no health professional in the world has warned not to ttc and no other respiritory virus affects a foetus so i think the advice is be careful and look after yourself well. Smile.

2020mission · 15/04/2020 19:02

Hi all šŸ‘‹šŸ»

I’m going to start TTC in late May. Had a 3 cycle attempts at the beginning of the year but currently having a break. Looking forward to getting back to trying soon though and it would be good to have company.

When will you all be planning to start testing? It won’t be until mid June for me.

Geepipe · 15/04/2020 19:09

Hi 2020 oh good luck thats really close! Well thats a good point im just going to wait for my first missed period and test then rather than counting days post ovulation as im not very bright and easily confused lol

2020mission · 15/04/2020 19:24

I tested a few days early at the beginning of the year when I first started TTC and found I had a chemical pregnancy so I think it’s better to hold off until a missed period to avoid upset. I agree, it’s also much easier than calculating DPO šŸ˜†

Geepipe · 15/04/2020 19:29

Im sorry to hear that. I had a miscarriage at 11.6 weeks in november so im stressed but trying to be really calm :) i totally believe in the missed period being the best option as well as ive seen a lot of ladies on here posting tests that look negative and people giving false hope and it turns out their periods not even due for a week so nothing will show up. I would hate to put myself through that stress.

Im reading a thread about tracking ovulation with opks is anyone here doing/considering opks? Im not sure if i should start. Although right now i have sore boobs and i want to test even though i know i cant be. Its weirdly stressful and lonely time.

CMM20 · 15/04/2020 19:41

I've ordered the Clearblue digital ovulation tests- I had my implant removed about 18 months ago and went on to Natural Cycles rather than any other form of contraception. You needed to use opk's on there to help determine your cycle and I used the cheaper stick ones. Personally, I found them so difficult to use, I would never be sure whether they were positive or not so i decided to go for the CB ones where you get a smiley face! They're a bit more expensive but for me personally, I think it will be a lot easier to read. That said, I know a lot of other people use the stick opk's and love them. I've also purchased a book on Amazon called 'The impatient woman's guide to getting pregnant' It was about £6 and worth every penny :)
